  • A design method that can easily construct intelligent patient monitoring systems is proposed. To achieve the design method, the SES/MB concept and a discrete event-based logic control formalism based on a set theory is introduced. In this control paradigm the controller expects to receive confirming sensor responses to its control commands within definite time windows determined by DEVS model of the system under control. Because data to be used for rule-based symbolic reasoning are to be abstracted, several AI methods are applied the processes. These methods are applied to intelligent patient monitoring systems so that they facilitate transformation from low level raw data to high level linguistic data. Model-based system representations have advantages of reusability, extensibility, flexsibility, independent testability and encapsulation.

  • 본 논문에서는 무선센서네트워크 기술을 활용하여 각종 생장환경 정보들을 수집하고 모니터링 할 수 있는 무선센서네트워크 기반의 온실환경 모니터링 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한, 원격지에서 온실 시설내 내부 환경 및 시설제어시스템을 통합 제어 관리하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 넓은 온실 내부의 환경 데이터 수집 및 온실 시설 제어 서비스를 제공함은 물론 무선센서네트워크 기반 온실환경 모니터링 시스템 및 온실시설 제어를 통하여 실시간 원격 온실 통합 서비스 제공이 가능하다. 통합관리시스템을 위한 GUI 구현은 HMI기반의 시스템 모니터링부로 설계하였으며, 센서정보들은 실시간으로 통합관리시스템의 모니터링 화면을 통해 센서 결과값을 출력할 수 있음을 결과로 얻을 수 있었다.

The information system concept for thermal monitoring of a spent nuclear fuel storage container

  • The paper notes that the most common way of handling spent nuclear fuel (SNF) of power reactors is its temporary long-term dry storage. At the same time, the operation of the dry spent fuel storage facilities almost never use the modern capabilities of information systems in safety control and collecting information for the next studies under implementation of aging management programs. The author proposes a structure of an information system that can be implemented in a dry spent fuel storage facility with ventilated storage containers. To control the thermal component of spent fuel storage safety, a database structure has been developed, which contains 5 tables. An algorithm for monitoring the thermal state of spent fuel was created for the proposed information system, which is based on the comparison of measured and forecast values of the safety criterion, in which the level of heating the ventilation air temperature was chosen. Predictive values of the safety criterion are obtained on the basis of previously published studies. The proposed algorithm is an implementation of the information function of the system. The proposed information system can be used for effective thermal monitoring and collecting information for the next studies under the implementation of aging management programs for spent fuel storage equipment, permanent control of spent fuel storage safety, staff training, etc.

  • This study focuses on building an effective environmental control system for the ubiquitous housing environment. In order to build an effective environmental control system that will provide a comfortable, pleasant, and convenient environment for residents, information on how people cognize the indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, information on human beings, and information of the space should be studied. Also more studies need to be done in which method would be the best way to integrate these informations that would affect the users in the most positive way. The current environmental control system only carries the information on providing separate information of environmental factors such as light, temperature, humidity, heat, and sound. However, it is difficult to understand the energy efficiency of an architectural element through this system. Therefore, this study proposes an energy monitoring system utilizing spatial information.

  • This research is to development advanced health(condition) monitoring system of superconducting motors. Development of advanced condition monitoring systems offers the prospect of improved performance, assessment, and operation, simplified design, enhanced safety, and reduced overall cost of advanced and next generation superconducting motor. For advanced and next generation superconducting motor design, the opportunity exists to develop and implement real-time and continuous monitoring systems by integrating wireless and computational technique. Generally, condition monitoring and control of temperature is essential for managing the superconducting motor components, rotor and structures. In this research, development of advanced monitoring in low temperature and high speed operating environments offers the potential to greatly improve the control of harsh environments. In conventional method, slip rings have been used to acquire data from these sensors. However, the increase of sensors leads to vibration of the rotation axis and noise signals due to kinematics contact. In this study, the wireless data acquisition technique was employed to develop more stable monitoring system adequate for high speed rotating system.

  • This paper is about the method by which Power Control Unit(PCU) of Control Rod Control System(CRCS) logs events in the system and the real-time monitoring display. This method enables the functions like the event logging of Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM)/power Cabinet, the off-line show of the event data logged and the on-line show by communication between the PCU and the monitoring display. Operators in a nuclear power plant must be able to grasp any possible abnormal states correctly. Because our newly designed system has a good ability to log and display the kinds, tine, and the prior and posterior states of urgent or non-urgent events, the operators can judge, maintain and repair the abnormal event more easily.

  • This research presents new type of remote monitoring and control solution of PLC that can be used bi-directional and efficient management of factory automation through internet. This system has client/server architect for information handling between PLC and remote computer where a user can control and monitor target PLC. Actually the authors redirect RS232C connection between PLC and server computer into Internet connection between PLC and remote client computer using supplied PLC tool program So user feel like in front of PLC panel when he operates remote PLC through Internet. Each client/server program is constructed with Java language for security. In this paper the internet-based remote control system was proposed and proved validity by being applied to redirection of PLC control for factory automation.

  • Method for performance monitoring and diagnosis of a MIMO control system has been studied aiming at application to model predictive control (MPC) for industrial processes. The performance monitoring part is designed on the basis of the traditional SPC/SQC method. To meet the underlying premise of Schwart chart observation that the observed variable should be univariate and independent, the process variables are decorrelated temporally as well as spatially before monitoring. The diagnosis part was designed to identify the root of performance degradation among the controller, process, and disturbance. For this, a method to estimate the model-error and disturbance signal has been devised. The proposed methods were evaluated through numerical examples.

  • On this research, to catch up with international trend on the power system utilities move to be digitalized and move to network is certainly technological on the global business world, to compete with advanced foreign countries in the range of transmit and distribute power system and to take possession of first market share within country, we talked over a monitoring system to diagnose, monitor ACB(Air Circuit Breaker) only which is operated on the low level voltage Power plant. AMS(ACB Monitoring System) have be configured with several modules such as engine module which acquire engineering data from HICM360/860(Communication Control Units) and analyze and save it, database module which restore data and can be inquired, system monitoring view module which reflects fields information within a second, realtime trend window, historical trend window, reports as daily and yearly. In a near future, AMS must upgrade GUI to have easy to handle and have to have a field test to fit on real plants, so it will have faith in system reliability as it can apply power plant monitoring system in wide.

행동기반 다개체 로봇 시스템을 이용한 환경감시 알고리즘 (Environment Monitoring Algorithm using Behavior-Based Multiple Robot System)

  • This paper proposes an environment monitoring algorithm using a behavior-based multiple robot system. This paper handles an escort and a boundary-tracking especially. Unlike previous research works, the proposed environment monitoring system which is based on the behavior-based multiple robot control allows the system to employ the reusable code and general algorithm. Also, the proposed method can be applied to cheaper process with low performances. In the proposed method, escort and boundary-tracking missions are constructed by weighted sum of predefined basic behaviors after redefining the basic behaviors in previous works and introducing the novel basic behavior. Simulation results of the proposed method are included to demonstrate the practical application of the proposed algorithm.
