초정밀 표면 형상 가공기술 개발 (Development of High Precision Machining Technology)

  • In this study, we aims to develop the machining technology for the ultra precision surface and profile accuracy. For this purpose, we construct the electrolytic in process grinding system (ELID grinding) and apply to the cylindrical and internal grinding. Through the various machining experiments such as SCM steel., ceramics, tungsten carbide etc., we have obtained nanometer surface roughness. And we have applied this mirror grinding technique to hydraulic manual valve and mold core of mini disk optical pick-up base. For the development of fine mechanical part machining technology, e have made multi fiber optical connector using fine grinding technology. And constructed micro drilling system with process monitoring system which is possible to drill 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ diameter hole.

  • The trend of cutting process today goes toward higher precision and higher efficiency. Many thermal/frictional troubles occur in high-speed machining of die and mold steels.In this paper, the thermal characteristics are evaluated in high sped ball end-milling of hardened steel(HRc42). Experimental work is performed on the effect of cutting environments on tool life and cutting temperature. Cutting environments involve dry, wet(20bar), compressed chilly air at -9$^{\circ}C$, compressed chilly air at -35$^{\circ}C$. The measuring technique of cutting temperature using implanted thermocouple is used. The cutting temperature is about 79$0^{\circ}C$, 35$0^{\circ}C$ and 54$0^{\circ}C$ in dry, wet and compressed chilly air at +9$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The tool life for compressed chilly air at -9$^{\circ}C$ is longer than all other cutting environments in experiment.

Fresnel 렌즈 금형 가공기술 연구 (A Study on the Machining of Fresnel Lens Mould)

  • Fresnel lenses are developed for flat optics with the optical characteristics close to aspherical lens such as sharp focusing and dispersion instead of spherical or aspherical surface. Usually, these fresnel lenses and diffraction gratings are machined by high-energy beam such as electron beam machining, but recently with the development of ultra precision machine tool and machining technology, 3-dimension micro machining becomes preferable. This study on the micro machining of fresnel lens is carried out to develop the basic technology of ultra precision micro machining. The machined lens mold will be used for the manufacturing of fresnel lens with 120mm focal distance using synthetic resin material with 1.49 refractive index(PMMA), and the shape of lens is 48mm diameter, $300\mum$ pitch and about $5-700\mum$depth of groove in brass.

  • The ASF(Automatic Sheets Feeders) part of the printer has many bosses supporting gear-trains. Steel-pin bosses are substituted for plastic mold bosses because of advantages such as cost reduction, convenience of manufacturing and accuracy in dimension, but they have a weak point such as fatigue fracture due to low material strength, which causes a serious problem in the reliability of product. To prevent the fatigue fracture of bosses, we should exactly estimate the life to failure of the various shapes of bosses. We take the linear FEM analysis and the statistical method in this paper to figure out the life to failure of bosses. The maximum stress and life to failure of bosses can be easily estimated by this method. This paper specifies how to figure out the life to failure of bosses.

  • In case of the concrete is poured into the HPC(Hollow Precast Concrete) column, the shrinkage condition of the HPC surface and the infilled concrete may be different, causing an interfacial space and deteriorating the integration performance. In this study, manufacturing HPC column mold and and the drying shrinkage properties with the charging concrete were examined. As a result, case of the shrinkage reducing agent showed the best drying shrinkage reduction effect. In the case of the expansive agent, the length change was lower than that of plain, but the difference from the shrinkage reducing agent was large, so it is considered that mixing condition of expansion mixing condition should be improved.

  • In this study on machine measuring system based on solid feature was developed. This system was applied with injection mold using 3 dimensional solid modeler for verification. Developed program include pre-processor, main processor, and post processor. In pre-processor there are functions which check intersection, simulate motion of probe and calculate measuring time. Main processor generates measuring path and output NC code in Unigraphics. In post-processor functions that include evaluation of undercut or overcut and display of measuring procedure are offered. In addition analysis module for quality control of measured data on manufactured product was developed with geometric and dimensional tolerance concept. As the result developed program could get stability of system, precision of product, rapidity and cost down of manufacturing process compared with before measuring process.

Geometrical Compensation of Injection-Molded Thin-Walled Parts in Reverse Engineering

  • A geometric compensation of thin-walled molded parts in reverse engineering is presented. Researches in reverse engineering have focused on the fitting of points to curves and surfaces. However, the reconstructed model is not the geometric model because the molded parts have some dimensional errors in measurements and deformation during molding. Geometric information can give an improved accuracy in reverse engineering. Thus, measurement data must be compensated with geometric information to reconstruct the mathematical model. The functional and geometric concepts of the part can be derived from geometric information. LSM (Least square method) is adopted to determine the geometric information. Also, an example of geometric compensation is given to improve the accuracy of geometric model and to inspect the reconstructed model.

  • PAM-STAMP is a widely used program which deals with press forming analysis. A blanking used in the press process depends on the experience of the workers. Thus it causes some waste material and demands a lot of time and many costs at the manufacturing mold. So we need to optimize of the blanking size.   • The high hardened materials that are remarkable in aspects of durability have been used for die and mold industry. As the high hardened materials are hard to machine, the high-speed machining is essential to manufacture these materials. Currently, in the general turning and milling, experiments to the tool wear monitoring have studied, but those have not applied in high-speed machining. In this study, the cutting mechanism was analysed by the cutting force according to cutting conditions, and the parameters to monitor the tool wear were selected from the tendency of the cutting force and acceleration according to cutting length in the high-speed machining of the high hardened materials(STD11).

  • Externally pressurized air journal bearing has been widely used in high-speed spindle system and precision machinery because of its characteristics such as substantially low frictional loss, low heat generation and averaging effect leading better running accuracy. But air journal bearing have a disadvantage of the low load capacity due to the low viscosity. In this paper, The air journal bearing design to overcome the defects of air bearing such as low stiffness and dimping coefficients was investigated theoretically.
