재하-제하과정에서 발생하는 흙의 변형계수 및 포아송비의 특성 (Characteristics of Deformation Modulus and Poisson's Ratio of Soil by Unconfined Loading-Reloading Axial Compression Process)

  • Prediction of soil behavior should be interpreted based on the level of axial strain in the actual ground. Recently numerical methods have been carried out focus on the state of soil failure. However considered the deformation of soil the prior to failure, mostly the small strain occurring in the elastic range is considered. As a result of calculating the deformation modulus to 50% of the maximum unconfined compression strength, Deformation modulus (E50) showed a tendency to increase according to the degree of compaction by region. The Poisson's ratio during loading-unloading was 0.63, which was higher than the literature value of 0.5. For the unconfined compression test under cyclic loading for the measurement of permanent strain, the maximum compression strength was divided into four step and the test was performed by load step. Changes in permanent strain and deformation modulus were checked by the loading-unloading test for each stage. At 90% compaction, the permanent deformation of the SM sample was 0.21 mm, 0.37 mm, 0.6 mm, and 1.35 mm. The SC samples were 0.1 mm, 0.17 mm, 0.42 mm, and 1.66 mm, and the ML samples were 0.48 mm, 0.95 mm, 1.30 mm, and 1.68 mm.

풍화된 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 선단지지거동 (End Bearing Behavior of Drilled Shafts in Weathered Rock)

  • 풍화된 암반에 근입된 말뚝의 선단지지거동은 신선암의 강도보다는 절리를 포함한 암반 상태에 의존한다. 본 연구에서는 암반상태가 말뚝의 선단지지력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 먼저 총 4부지의 암반에 근입된 13본의 현장타설콘크리트 말뚝에 대한 재하시험, 그리고 재하시험 부지의 지반조사 자료를 포함하는 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 말뚝선단부의 거동과 암반물성치의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 선단지반반력계수와 암반물성치의 상관관계 분석 결과 암석의 일축압축강도와 지반반력계수 사이에는 일관된 상관관계를 찾을 수 없었으나, 암반의 상태를 나타내는 물성치인 $E_m$, $E_{ur}$, RMR, 그리고 RQD 등과 지반반력계수의 상관계수는 대부분 0.7 이상으로 매우 뛰어난 상관성을 보였다. 또한, 기존의 방법으로 추정한 선단지지력과 실측 선단지지력의 비교를 통해 기존 방법의 적용성을 검증하였다.

반투명 콘크리트의 제조기법 개발과 무기혼화재 혼입에 따른 역학적 특성 (Development of Fabrication Method for Translucent Concrete and the Material Characteristics Associated with the Use of Mineral Admixture)

  • 최근 콘크리트제품에 대한 고급화, 고품질화 및 고강도화 등의 추구로 변화함에 따라 구조물의 미적효과와 전시 목적의 제품 고급화를 위해 반투명 콘크리트를 제작하였다. 본 연구에서는 반투명 콘크리트의 제조기법 개발을 통해 다양한 형상의 블록 제조방식을 소개하고, 또한 반투명 콘크리트의 물성 평가와 더불어 경제적인 반투명 콘크리트 제조를 위해 무기혼화재인 고로슬래그와 플라이애시의 활용 및 유리알갱이의 적용방안에 대해 검토하였다. 물성평가 결과, 반투명 콘크리트 블록의 28일 압축강도는 32.2MPa이고 탄성계수와 푸아송비는 일반 콘크리트 블록에 비해 증가되어 압축을 받는 부재일 경우 일반 콘크리트 구조물과 같이 구조적 용도로도 사용이 가능하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 시멘트 대체재로써 플라이애시 적용하였을 때 동일 양의 광섬유를 포함한 반투명 콘크리트 블록의 28일 강도의 85~96%의 값을 보였으며, 고로슬래그 미분말을 적용하였을 때에는 82~96%의 값을 보였다. 또한, 광섬유대체재로서 유리알갱이를 적용한 결과, 빛의 투과효과가 전혀 나타나지 않아 대체효과가 전혀 없는 것으로 나타났다.

Stability analysis of bimodular pin-ended slender rod

  • Many novel materials, developed in recent years, have obvious properties with different modulus of elasticity in tension and compression. The ratio of their tensile modulus to compressive modulus is as high as five times. Nowadays, it has become a new trend to study the mechanical properties of these bimodular materials. At the present stage, there are extensive studies related to the strength analysis of bimodular structures, but the investigation of the buckling stability problem of bimodular rods seems to cover new ground. In this article, a semi-analytical method is proposed to acquire the buckling critical load of bimodular slender rod. By introducing non-dimensional parameters, the position of neutral axis of the bimodular rod in the critical state can be determined. Then by combining the phased integration method, the deflection differential equation of bimodular pin-ended slender rod is deduced. In addition, the buckling critical load is obtained by solving this equation. An example, which is conducted by comparing the calculation results between the three of the methods including the laboratory tests, numerical simulation method and the method we developed here, shows that the method proposed in the present work is reliable to use. Furthermore, the influence of bimodular characteristics on the stability is discussed and analyzed.

Prediction of maximum shear modulus (Gmax) of granular soil using empirical, neural network and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system models

  • Maximum shear modulus (Gmax or G0) is an important soil property useful for many engineering applications, such as the analysis of soil-structure interactions, soil stability, liquefaction evaluation, ground deformation and performance of seismic design. In the current study, bender element (BE) tests are used to evaluate the effect of the void ratio, effective confining pressure, grading characteristics (D50, Cu and Cc), anisotropic consolidation and initial fabric anisotropy produced during specimen preparation on the Gmax of sand-gravel mixtures. Based on the tests results, an empirical equation is proposed to predict Gmax in granular soils, evaluated by the experimental data. The artificial neural network (ANN) and Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) models were also applied. Coefficient of determination (R2) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) between predicted and measured values of Gmax were calculated for the empirical equation, ANN and ANFIS. The results indicate that all methods accuracy is high; however, ANFIS achieves the highest accuracy amongst the presented methods.

단일 현장타설말뚝 기초의 설계 및 시공 (Design and consturction of single drilled shaft foundation)

  • The single drilled shaft foundation has been used in the other countries, but has not used in South Korea at all This foundation is very effective and economic method in South Korea which is easy to meet a good rock mass within 50m depth from the ground We have many experiences to construct 1.52 5m drilled shaft foundations and ability to construct 30m drilled shaft foundation without special efforts The soil behavior is nonlinear, but it can be proposed in linear in practical purpose on bridges. The elastic modulus of soil can be rationally obtained by the method of Road Bridge Design Manual in South Korea using the Schmertmann(1970)'s proposal, and the elastic modulus of rock can be obtained by the field test. In seismic design the column and drilled shaft must be restricted to the elastic design because the behavior of this foundation is flexible and the arrangement of the rebars makes the various defect In this paper the design criteria is compared with FHWA design criteria, and the design criteria is proposed in consistent with Road Bridge Design Manual in South Korea. The single drilled shaft foundation of a test bridge was constructed in the Iksan-Jangsoo highway, and we checked its stability, workability and economy

실내실험을 통한 핵석지반의 강도정수 산정연구 (Laboratory experiment on the assessment of the ground strength with corestone)

  • Corestone rock mass has complex characters because it is made up of stronger and stiffer corestone in a weaker and softer matrix. Physical model corestone rock mass made up of stiffer corestone in weaker matrix were tested in uniaxial compression and numercal modelling analysis The result of the uniaxial compression tests showed that increasing the corestone proportion generally increased the modulus of deformation. And the strength decreased in the lower corestone proportion, but it increased in the higher proportion(45%, 65% corestone by volume). The strength and the modulus of deformation were not affected by different size coretone on the same proportion. The result of the numerical modelling analysis showed similar trend compared with the result of the result of the uniaxial compression test. But though the result of th uniaxial compression test is similar to the result of the numerical modelling analysis, it's unreasonalble to apply the results of this paper to in situ corestone rock mass. So mere laboratory tests including triaxial test and the other numerical program analyses are necessary to apply the results to in situ corestone mass

  • In concrete incorporating high volume ground granulated blast-furnace slag that has frozen at early age, to evaluated the results of resistance to freezing and thawing is very difficult because the hydration of the concrete increases over the duration of rapid freezing and thawing test. Hence, the dynamic modulus of elasticity of specimens after freezing and thawing will be favorable results unless the hydration effect is taken into consideration. In this study, a method of evaluating to the resistance to freezing and thawing of concrete subjected freezing at early age, in which the effect of hydration is modified for its increase during rapid freezing and thawing test, is investigated.

연직배수공법이 적용된 연약지반 상에 도로성토로 인한 측방유동의 특성 (Characteristics of Lateral Flow due to Embankments for Road Construction on Soft Grounds Using Vertical Drain Methods)

  • 연직배수공법이 적용된 연약지반의 측방유동 특성을 조사하기 위해 우리나라 해안지역에서 계측관리가 실시된 13개 연약지반 현장의 자료를 수집하여 조사 분석을 실시하였다. 먼저 성토규모가 연약지반의 측방유동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연약층의 두께와 상대적 도로성토규모가 클수록 연약지반 속의 수평변위는 크게 발생하였다. 특히 연약지반이 두꺼우면 도로성토저면폭에 대한 연약층의 두께의 비인 상대적 성토규모도 자연 커지므로 수평변위량은 크게 발생하였다. 또한 도로성토속도가 빠르면 연약지반의 수평변위량이 크게 발생하였다. 그 밖에도 연약지반의 두께와 비배수전단강도, 지반계수 및 안정수는 연약지반의 측방유동에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소로 나타났다. 즉 연약지반의 비배수전단강도와 지반계수가 작을수록 그리고 안정수가 클수록 연약지반의 최대수평변위량은 크게 발생하였다. 도로성토로 인하여 연약지반 속에 전단변형이 발생되지 않는 안전한 상태에서는 안정수가 3이하가 되고 지지 안전율이 1.7이상이 되었다. 그러나 연약지반 속에 전단파괴가 발생되는 불안전한 상태에서는 안정수가 5.14이상이 되고 지지안전율이 1.0이하가 되었다. 도로성토로 인하여 연약지반 속에 전단변형이 발생하는지 여부를 판단할 수 있는 허용최대수평변위량의 기준은 50mm로 정하는 것이 바람직하며 연약지반에 전단파괴가 발생됨이 없이 도로성토를 실시할 수 있는 연약지반의 수평변위량 기준은 100mm로 정하는 것이 바람직할 것이다.

동적단순전단 시험기를 이용한 매립지반 거동특성에 관한 연구 (A study of dynamic peoperties in cyclic simple shear test)

  • Cyclic simple shear test apparatus was used to investigate the dynamic response of liquefiable soils as reclamation material. The specimen were reclamation using simple air-pluviation method. The confining stress was applied the range of 100 kpa to 200 kpa. The resulted strain was in the range of $10^{-3}$ ~ 5 %. Based on these test results modulus reduction curve, damping curve and cyclic strength curve were developed. The developed curves were compared to those already available in literature. The obtained curves can be applied to FEM or equivalent linear analysis such as SHAKE for ground response analysis.
