열전모듈의 냉각특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on cooling characteristic of a thermoelectric module)

  • An experimental study has been carried out on cooling perfonnance of a thennoelectric module. This problem is of particular interest in the design of the refrigeration systems using thermoelectric module, such as cosmetic refrigerator, wine cellar and air cooler. The effect of the input voltage and the hot side temperature on the cooling performance is studied in detail. The $\Delta$T, temperature difference between cold side and hot side surface of thermoelectric module, is described in terms of the input voltage and the hot side temperature. It is found that the cooling capacity can be improved by increasing the input voltage and by reducing the heat from the hot side of the thermoelectric module. However, COP is decreased with an increase in the input voltage, since power consumption is also increased. Thus, optimum input voltage can be selected based on cooling capacity and COP.

  • Protected Circuit Module protects battery from over-charge and over-discharge, also prevents accidental explosion. Therefore, power MOSFET is essential to operate as a switch within the module. To reduce power loss of MOSFET, the on state voltage drop should be lowered and the switching time should be shorted. However there is trade-off between the breakdown voltage and the on state voltage drop. The TDMOS can reduce the on state voltage drop. In this paper, effect of design parameter variation on electrical properties of TDMOS, were analyzed by computer simulation. According to the analyzed results, the optimization was performed to get 65% higher breakdown voltage and 17.4% on resistance enhancement.

  • We report the performance of an open-frame type low-voltage high-current DC-DC converter module developed using an active clamp forward converter circuit and current doubler rectifier. The converter module is designed with the specifications of an 1.8V output voltage, 25A output current, and 36-75V input voltage. The synchronous rectifier is used to reduce the conduction fuss at high current level and current-mode control is adapted to enhance the flexibility in the system configuration. A prototype converter module is successfully implemented within 10mm height and half brick size (58${\times}$61mm), and recorded an 84% efficiency and 4% voltage regulation for the entire input voltage range, thereby demonstrating its application potentials to future telecommunication electronics.

  • In this paper, we have designed and fabricated a RF-DC voltage multiplier for 5.8GHz microwave wireless power transmission. In order to obtain higher voltage, the RF-DC voltage multiplier with 10 diodes (D-10) and the receiver module with an antenna and BPF (Band Pass Filter) was manufactured. The measured and compared results show that the voltages of the proposed one are lower than those of the previous tripler module up to 40cm. However, the voltage of the proposed one with the voltage multiplier is higher than that of the tripler module at the distances of 45cm and 50cm due to the voltage multiplier with 10 diodes.

태양광 발전시스템의 그림자 영향을 고려한 PV 모듈의 재구성 (Reconfiguration of PV Module Considering the Shadow Influence of Photovoltaic System)

  • This paper proposes the reconfiguration of PV module considering shadow influence of photovoltaic system. The PV system is consisted series-parallel connection of PV module. The voltage and current between PV modules become unbalance when shadow occurs to PV module. If shadow occurs to the series connection PV module, the output current is limited to current of shaded PV module. Also if shadow occurs to the parallel connection PV module, the output voltage is limited to voltage of shaded PV module. These problems are caused power loss. Therefore, the PV module in this paper consist using the fixed module and variable module by shaded conditions. The reconfiguration of PV module can compensates the shadow influence by changing connection of a variable module when shadow is occurred to PV module. A validity of the reconfiguration of PV module proposed in this paper proves through comparing with performance of conventional PV module.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 적외선 야시경의 소형 경량화 및 저전력을 위한 전자회로부를 설계하였다. 설계한 전자회로부는 전압자동변환부와 전원공급부로 구성한다. 전압자동변환부는 배터리, 스위치부, 승압부, 전압선택부 등으로 구성한다. 전원공급부는 고광원 감지회로, 배터리 전압감지회로, 적외선 발광회로, 연결감지회로, 공급제어회로 등으로 구성한다. 설계한 전자회로부의 성능은 AN/PVS-14에 비하여 소모전력 및 상온 연속사용 시간에서 우수하였다.

  • This paper presents a resonant step-down DC/DC converter to reduce the voltage stresses of a 3-phase inverter module under the three-phase AC utility line condition. Under this condition, a conventional 3-phase inverter module suffers from high voltage stresses as a result of the high rectified DC link voltage; hence, a high-cost high-voltage-rating inverter module must be used. However, using the proposed converter, a low-cost low-voltage-rating inverter module may be adopted to drive the motor even under the 3-phase AC line condition. The proposed converter, which can be realized with small size inductor and low-voltage-rating semiconductor devices, operates at a high-efficiency mode because of the zero-current switching operations of all the semiconductor devices. The operational principles are explained and a design example is provided in the study. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed converter.

소형 전원용 스위칭 파워 모듈 (Switching Power Module for a Small-Sized Electric Power Source)

  • 전원장치의 소형화 핵심기술인 반도체 스위칭 기술을 이용하여 5 V/500 mA급 트랜스리스형 파워모듈(transless type power module)을 설계하였다. 파워 모들은 강압형 chopper 방식을 이용하였으며, 스위칭회로, 제어회로, 전압검출회로, 그리고 정전압 회로 등으로 구성되어 었다. 본 연구에서 설계한 스위칭 파워모듈은 0.2 V의 load regulation, 0.1 V의 line regulation, 85 mVp-p의 output ripple 전압, 64.7 kHz의 스위칭 주파수, 최대 58% 정도의 효율을 나타내었으며, 신뢰성 및 EMC 평가항목을 만족하였다.

다권선 변압기의 자화 에너지를 이용한 모듈화 전하 균일 장치 (A Modularized Charge Equalizer Using the Magnetizing Energy of the Multi-Winding Transformer)

  • The modularized equalizers normally use additional components among the modules in the long series-connected lithium-ion battery string. In these approaches, the overall systems are heavy, bulky, and high-priced. Furthermore, the losses related to additional components decrease the system efficiency. To avoid these problems, a modularized equalizer, which has no additional components among the modules, is required. This paper proposes a novel control scheme using the magnetizing energy of the multi-winding transformer for the module equalization. In this scheme, the high duty cycle is applied to the module where the voltage is higher than the reference voltage and the low duty cycle is applied to the module where the voltage is lower than the reference voltage. Due to the different duty cycle, more electric charges are transferred from high voltage module to the low voltage module during the turn-off switching interval. Using the proposed control scheme, the equalizer system does not suffer from the size, cost, and loss related to the modularization. The experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed modularized equalizer.
