Frequency Stabilization Method for Grid Integration of Large-scale Centralized Wind Farms via VSC-HVDC Technology

  • This work proposes a control method of frequency stabilization for grid integration of large-scale wind farms via the voltage source converter-based high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) technology. First, the topology of grid integration of a large-scale wind farm via the VSC-HVDC link is provided, and simple control strategies for wind turbines, wind farm side VSC (WFVSC), and grid side VSC are presented. Second, a mathematical model between the phase angle of WFVSC and the frequency of the wind farm is established. The control principle of the large-scale wind power integrated system is analyzed in theory in accordance with the mathematical model. Third, frequency and AC voltage controllers of WFVSC are designed based on the mathematical model of the relationships between the phase angle of WFVSC and the frequency of the wind farm, and between the modulation index of WFVSC and the voltage of the wind farm. Corresponding controller structures are established by deriving a transfer function, and an optimization method for selecting the parameters of the frequency controller is presented. Finally, a case study is performed under different operating conditions by using the DIgSILENT/PowerFactory software. Results show that the proposed control method has good performance in the frequency stabilization of the large-scale wind power integrated system via the VSC-HVDC technology.

Aloe vera Inhibits Proliferation of Human Breast and Cervical Cancer Cells and Acts Synergistically with Cisplatin

  • Many of the anti-cancer agents currently used have an origin in natural sources including plants. Aloe vera is one such plant being studied extensively for its diverse health benefits, including cancer prevention. In this study, the cytotoxic potential of Aloe vera crude extract (ACE) alone or in combination with cisplatin in human breast (MCF-7) and cervical (HeLa) cancer cells was studied by cell viability assay, nuclear morphological examination and cell cycle analysis. Effects were correlated with modulation of expression of genes involved in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis and drug metabolism by RT-PCR. Exposure of cells to ACE resulted in considerable loss of cell viability in a dose- and time-dependent fashion, which was found to be mediated by through the apoptotic pathway as evidenced by changes in the nuclear morphology and the distribution of cells in the different phases of the cell cycle. Interestingly, ACE did not have any significant cytotoxicity towards normal cells, thus placing it in the category of safe chemopreventive agent. Further, the effects were correlated with the downregulation of cyclin D1, CYP 1A1, CYP 1A2 and increased expression of bax and p21 in MCF-7 and HeLa cells. In addition, low dose combination of ACE and cisplatin showed a combination index less than 1, indicating synergistic growth inhibition compared to the agents applied individually. In conclusion, these results signify that Aloe vera may be an effective anti-neoplastic agent to inhibit cancer cell growth and increase the therapeutic efficacy of conventional drugs like cispolatin. Thus promoting the development of plant-derived therapeutic agents appears warranted for novel cancer treatment strategies.

흡수 회절격자를 가지는 복소결합 다중양자우물 DFB 레이저의 회절격자 구조의 최적화 (Optimization of Grating Structures in Complex-Coupled MQW DFB Lasers with Absorptive Gratings)

  • 흡수 회절결자를 가지는 복소결합 다중양자우물 구조의 DFB 레이저가 작은 문턱이득, 좋은 변조 특성 그리고 작은 선폭계수를 보이며 또한 큰 제작 공차를 가지는 최적의 복소 회절격자 구조를 보였다. 이러한 구조를 찾기 위해 확장된 새로운 층 방법을 사용하여 복소 결합계수와 복소결합계수비를 계산하였으며 흡수 회절격자 층에서의 모달 손실을 포함하는 문턱이득을 직각사각형과 사다리꼴 회절격자에 대하여 계산하였다. 제안된 여러 구조에 대한 계산 결과의 비교를 통하여 작은 문턱이득과 큰 제작 공차를 얻기 위한 설계 지침을 얻었다. 제안된 여러 구조 중에서 이중 회절격자 층 방법을 이용한 구조중 흡수 회절격자가 윗층에 있는 구조가 복소 결합계수의 크기와 문턱이득에 대한 제작 공차가 가장 컸다. 복소결합계수비에 대한 제작 공차는 모든 구조에서 매우 큰 값을 가지고 있어 회절격자 설계시 중요한 고려 대상이 아님을 볼 수 있었다.

NPC형 3레벨 인버터의 출력전압 고조파 분석 (Output Voltage Harmonics Analysis of NPC Type Three-level Inverter)

  • 본 논문은 3상 NPC형 3레벨 인버터의 과변조 SVPWM 기법과 변조비에 대한 출력전압의 고조파를 분석하였다. 3상 NPC형 3레벨 인버터는 SVPWM을 적용하여 선형영역을 0.907까지 확장하였고 과변조 영역에서는 푸리에 급수에 의한 추종전압의 보상기법을 적용하여 6 스텝영역까지 운전할 수 있도록 하였다. PWM 형태인 출력전압의 고조파 특성분석에는 PD방식의 멀티 캐리어 기법에 대하여 이중 푸리에 급수를 적용하여 해석하였다. 시뮬레이션은 PSIM을 사용하여 구현하였고 3레벨 인버터의 영역도의 각 영역에 대해서 고조파의 특성을 확인하였다. NPC형 3레벨 인버터의 고조파 분포는 선형영역에서는 캐리어 주파수의 측대 고조파가 분포되고, 과변조 영역으로 넘어가면서 기본파에 의한 고조파 성분이 점차 증가하고 캐리어 주파주의 사이드 밴드의 고조파 성분은 감소함을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서의 고조파 해석을 검증하기 위하여 동일한 조건에서 시뮬레이션과 실험을 수행하였다.

Quick Diagnosis of Short Circuit Faults in Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverters using FPGA

  • Fast and accurate fault detection is the primary step and one of the most important tasks in fault tolerant converters. In this paper, a fast and simple method is proposed to detect and diagnosis the faulty cell in a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter under a short circuit fault. In this method, the reference voltage is calculated using switching control pulses and DC-Link voltages. The comparison result of the output voltage and the reference voltage is used in conjunction with active cell pulses to detect the faulty cell. To achieve this goal, the cell which is active when the Fault signal turns to "0" is detected as the faulty cell. Furthermore, consideration of generating the active cell pulses is completely described. Since the main advantage of this method is its simplicity, it can be easily implemented in a programmable digital device. Experimental results obtained with an 11-level inverter prototype confirm the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection technique. In addition, they show that the diagnosis method is unaffected by variations of the modulation index.

전류모드논리 주파수 분할기를 통한 기저대역 AM 변조 신호의 왜곡 특성 연구 (Analysis of Distortion Characteristic of Amplitude Modulated Signal through a Current-Mode-Logic Frequency Divider)

  • 본 논문은 AM 변조 신호를 전송하기 위한 전류모드논리 주파수 분할기를 설계하고, 모의실험 결과를 통해 입출력 파형과 bias 포인트의 변화에 따른 출력 전압을 분석하였다. 또한, 입력 주파수 1,400 MHz에서 최적화되어 동작하는 주파수 분할기를 설계하였으며, 이를 통해 700 MHz 변조 신호의 전송 가능성을 확인하였다. 설계된 주파수 분할기는 100 MHz부터 3,000 MHz까지 동작하며, 2,900 MHz의 대역폭을 가지고 입력 주파수 1,400 MHz에서 -33 dBm의 입력 전력으로 변환 이득 14 dB를 갖도록 설계되었다. DC 전압 $V_{DD}=3V$에서 입력 전압 $V_{Peak}=0.2V$일 때 $I_{total}=30mA$가 흐르며, 변조 지수 m=0.5인 진폭 변조 신호의 반송파 주파수가 1,400 MHz에서 700 MHz로 분주되는 것을 확인하였다.

정현파 음성-오디오 모델의 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법 (Fast Harmonic Synthesis Method for Sinusoidal Speech-Audio Model)

  • 대부분의 2차 및 3차 위상 보간을 사용하는 하모닉 합성 방법은 각각의 정현파 성분에 대해 샘플단위로 합성되기 때문에 구현하는데 있어 많은 연산량이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 2차 및 3차 위상 항을 가지는 정현파 음성 및 오디오 모델을 위한 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법은 2차 및 3차 위상함수의 계수를 하모닉과 독립적으로 강요함으로써 오버 샘플링 함수와 위상 변조 함수를 정의하고, Inverse Fast Fourier Transform(IFFT)을 이용한 합성식을 유도한다. 제안한 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법은 연산량과 Segment SNR(Segment Signal-to-Noise Ratio)을 코사인 함수를 이용한 합성 방법과의 비교를 통해 음질의 저하없이 연산량이 현저히 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

형개련교탕가미발효방(荊芥連翹湯加味醱酵方)의 항아토피피부염 효능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Research of Hyunggaeyunkyotanggamibalhyobang (HYGBH) on Atopic Dermatitis Treatment)

  • In order to investigate the efficacy of HYGBH on atopic dermatitis, various immune related factors were studied. The results and conclusions are as follows. Atopic dermatitis symptoms were improved in HYGBH treated group and significant decrease in dermatitis index were observed in 12 and 14 weeks. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in CD4+, CD3+/CD69+ immune cell ratio in PBMC by 18% and 40.6% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in CD3+, CD11b+/Gr-1+ immune cell ratio in dorsal skin by 44.6% and 53.1% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in IL-4, IFN-${\gamma}$ in spleen by 29.5%, 7.7% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed decrease in the expression of IL-5, IL-13, IL-17 and histamine by 21%, 9.6%, 14%, and 32.2% respectively. Also the group showed decrease in the expression of IgE by 6.8% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in the transcription of IL-5 and IL-3 mRNA in skin by 35.5% and 23.2% respectively. The results above indicated that treatment of HYGBH improved atopic dermatitis symptoms by anti-oxidant activity as well as immune modulation activity as a clinical evidence. Also, to increase the application of fermented oriental medicine, different fermentation conditions using various microbial strains should be accumulated as the clinical evidence in the future.

형개련교탕발효방(荊芥連翹湯醱酵方)이 NC/Nga mouse 동물병태에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hyunggaeyunkyotangbalhyobang (HYBH) on Atopic Dermatitis in NC/Nga Mice Model)

  • Various related factors and tissue changes in vitro and in vivo were observed to investigate the efficacy of HYBH on atopic dermatitis. The results are described below. HYBH improved the atopic dermatitis symptoms by naked eye examination, and significantly decreased dermatitis clinical index at 14 weeks. HYBH significantly decreased CD4+/CD45+, CD4+, CD8+, CD3+/CD69+ immune cell ratios in PBMC by 28%, 16%, 30%, 26% and 22% respectively. HYBH significantly decreased CD11b+/Gr-1+, CD3 immune cell ratios in dorsal skin by 35.3% and 67.5% respectively. HYBH significantly decreased the expression of IL-4 and IFN-${\gamma}$ in spleen by 23% and 15% respectively. HYBH significantly decreased the production rate of IL-5, IL-13 and histamine in serum by 17%, 23%, and 8.8% respectively and increased IL-17 production by 17%. HYBH significantly decreased immunoglubulins IgG1 and IgE production in serum. The results above indicated that treatment of HYBH improved atopic dermatitis symptoms by anti-oxidant activity and immune modulation activity as a clinical evidence. Also, different fermentation conditions using various microbial strains should be accumulated as the clinical evidence for broad application in the future.

백선피지부자복합방(白鮮皮地膚子複合方)의 항아토피피부염 효능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Research of Baecksunpijibujabokhap-banng(BJBB) on Atopic Dermatitis Treatment)

  • In order to investigate the efficacy of BJBB on atopic dermatitis, various immune related factors were studied. The results and conclusions are as follows. Atopic dermatitis symptoms were improved in BJBB treated group and significant decrease in dermatitis index were observed in 13 weeks. ALT, AST and BUN, Cr levels were all with in the normal ranges in BJBB treated group, indicating no induced toxicity. BJBB treated group showed significant decrease in CD4+, CD11b+/Gr-1+ immune cell ratio in dorsal skin by 33% and 62% respectively. BJBB treated group showed significant decrease in the expression of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13 and histamine by 83%, 62%, 53% and 61% respectively. Also the group showed decrease in the transcription of IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13 mRNA in spleen by 41%, 52% and 50% respectively. BJBB treated group showed decrease in the expression of IgE by 57% respectively. The results above indicated that treatment of BJBB improved atopic dermatitis symptoms by immune modulation activity a clinical evidence. thus, BJBB has a potential use as a composition of medicinal plants for treatment against inflammation related disease.
