The purpose of this study is to propose an effective exercise for the prevention of osteoporosis by analyzing changes in bone metabolism markers and adipocytokines according to the application of modern dance. The objects were selected between t-score -1.0 to -2.5 and subjects were random assigned to the modern dance group(n=10) and control group(n=10). Modern dance was held three times a week for 60min, for 12weeks. For data analysis, two-way repeated measures ANOVA was analyzed using SPSS. As a result of the study, both osteocalcin(p<.01) and T-score(p<.05) were significantly increased in the modern dance group. Adiponectin(p<.05) was increased significantly and Both TNF-α (p<.05) and IL-6(p<.05) were significantly decreased in the modern dance group. As a result, modern dance is considered to be an effective strategy to prevent osteoporosis, and it is expected to have a positive effect on metabolism and function improvement in elderly women with osteopenia.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the formative characteristic of modern Tap dance costume according to its origin and kinds. For this purpose, the study explored the review of literature focusing on the historical back ground of Tap dance and investigated into the kinds of modern tap dance and the formative feature of the tap dance costume. Costumes of leading tap dancers in representative performances and movies are analyzed. The results are summarized as follows: The kinds of current tap dance could be categorized as three types of Jazz Tap Dance, Rhythm & Funk Tap Dance, Irish tap Dance as their development origin. The Tap dance widely distributed through the U.S. Hollywood movie, The Jazz Tap Dance costume was composed of magnificent and luxurious design applying the high fashion of the 1930s and 1950s in the male and female costumes. The U.S. Blacks' tap dance, Rhythm & Funk Tap costume had a close relation with resistant blacks' culture, and showing the type of free dressing not bound by previous tap dance dress. The Irish Tap Dance originated from Irish folk dance displayed the tap dance embroidered costume using the Irish traditional pattern. This study systemized the characteristic of the tap dance costume by kind, and explored the dress revealed at the tap dance as a symbolic system to the cultural zone where the dance is made.

This paper identifies the life of Kim Jung Hyun who was so called kisaeng, a beauty and entertainer in modern times and serves as the study considering what kinds of dances she played going through modern times and the significance works in Korea Dance illustrated guide bear in terms of dance history. Kim Jung Yun who was designated as an important intangible cultural asset for her Korean traditional narrative song in the northwestern provinces (Number twenty-nine. designated in 1971) devoted herself to Korean classical music area after having been designated as cultural asset and became a stranger in dance area. However, in Kisaeng call-office, she had been estimated to learn dancing under the great dancer, Lee Jang Sin, and make efforts on dance activity until the early 1960's. Her works derived from such learning and creation activity came to be part of Korea Dance Illustrated Guide. This study aimed at studying Kim Jung Yun in addition to her works who had not received attention so far but worked on positive lines and made a significant accomplishment in modern dance history in order to reveal her importance status in modern dance history.

This study looked into the characteristics of participants in dance sports, which is being positioned to be one of everyday athletic activities among people, and investigated the actual purchasing of dance sports wear with the subjects of its participants as a preceding study for the development of dance sports wear to consider their characteristics. The questionnaire method was used, and descriptive and crosstabulation analysis was conducted with a spss 12.0. The findings are as follows. 1. As the results that examine general characteristics of dance sports participants, the number of those in their 20's was the largest, while the number of women was larger than that of men. Regarding the practicing period, those of one year or longer up to 4 years occupied the largest proportion, and the rate of Latin American dance participants was larger than that of modern dance ones. 2. As to the actual purchasing of dance sports wear, the purchase motivations were found to be in the 'contest participation' for teenagers and those in their 20's, while those in their 40's or over purchased their wear for the purposes of 'following the fashion' or 'club gatherings.' As for the sources of information at the time of purchase, teenagers relied on internet and those of 20's or over got the information through the persons nearby. As their ages got higher, the ready-made sports wear was preferred, while as their practicing periods got longer modern dance participants purchased the sports wear of higher prices. Participants in their 30's and those practicing 7 years or longer possessed a comparatively larger number of dance sports wear and they considered importantly of designs and fit at the time of purchase. Therefore, the development of dance sports wear designs should be made to accord with the participants' age groups so that they might be sensitive to the fashion and clearly represent their personality for the junior group and durable enough to last long for the senior group.

This study intended to develop and produce a modern form of fashion design for the Korean creative dance performance, 'Crazy Skirt Collage', which expressed conflict between internal ego and a persona in a woman. The qualitative method was used to analyze literature review, internet search and visual data of historically important cases related to the theme. Based on the analysis, the fashion design of the dance performanre by Hwang Hee-Yeon that was actually staged on Towol Theater, one of the Seoul Arts Center, was produced. The results wire as follows; First, the study confirmed a change of persona that revealed a female's animus strongly as it moved into the modern time. Second, the female's persona was expressed through long skirts, slips, dress shoes, handbags, military shoes, dresses with long zippers, trousers, wedding dresses and Korean full skirts during the performance, while the female's animus through male coats, panties, big bags and clock. In conclusion, it is necessary to study new expressive methods, that is, dance clothes using advanced equipment such as lights, videos or other variety of materials. It is also important to understand aesthetics of modern women's ordinary lives and to adapt ordinary clothes to dance clothes in various methods in order to express their modern lives appropriately through Korean creative dance.

This study has been started by the trendy analysis of parody in post-modern dance. Creative parody is not an imitative work but provides new originality of a work of art and serves as the criticism. Since the 1960s the trend and characteristics of using parody in post-modern dance can be classified into five concepts which are the cultural diversity, the autonomous thinking ability, the aesthetic perception, the use of the mass media and the cultural relations of the critical process. In conclusion, the parody elements in post-modern dance are due to the cultural diversity, and the experimental values which are divided into the beauty of content and mode has been acted as the important factors to achieve the parody elements to new dimension.

이 연구는 작품분석을 통해 작품에서 나타난 모던댄스(modern dance)와 컨템포러리댄스(contemporary dance)의 차이를 분석하고 논의하는 것을 목적으로 두었으며, 그 결과 모던댄스와 컨템포러리댄스를 움직임, 음악, 무대미술 이라는 세 가지의 키워드로 나뉠 수 있었다. 크게 모던댄스는 신체의 확장, 서정적인 분위기의 음악, 근육의 섬세한 움직임을 통한 춤의 본질을 표현하게 되었고, 컨템포러리댄스는 신체의 분절, 전자음과 강한 비트, 정형화 되지 않은 조명과 락 콘서트를 연상하는 이미지를 연출할 수 있었다.

This thesis is about body language of Tao Dance Theater by combining Schuster's body aesthetic concept with the aesthetic characteristics of early dancers in modern dance. The body aesthetics of Tao Dance Theater were analyzed from the perspectives of minimalism and abstract aesthetics as they expressed and conducted overall research. Therefore, this study intends to analyze the elements such as the creative intention, content, body aesthetic, and costume stage of Tao Dance Theater's work <10>. Accordingly, it is meaningful in that it understands the aesthetic concept of the body asserted by Lee through the work, and analyzes the current state of development of modern dance art according to the change of the artistic trend.

The purpose of this study is to consider the origin and kinds of tango and to analyze formative characteristics of tango dance costume. On the basis of the review of literature about tango, photos of tango dance and modern fashion collections designed by tango themes are analysed to examine design elements which are essentially considered in dance costume design. The result of this study are as follows: This study shows the different characteristics of tango dance costume depend on the kind of tango. In case of Argentina tango, sheath silhouette dress and black color are preferred, for Continental tango, fit and flare silhouette which gives convenient movement in dress and white color emphasize the elegant movement are preferred. America tango accentuates the body movement by fitted silhouette, metallic materials, and bead trimmings in dress. The result of the analysis of recent fashion collection shows that characteristics especially strong and sensual tango are mainly an inspiring motive and reinterpreted by designers in modern fashion.
