A Study on Broadband Integrated Modem LAN Switching Technology of Environment Facility (환경 시설물의 광대역 통합모뎀 근거리 통신망 스위칭 기술 연구)

  • Recently, environment facilities are able to manage real-time data collection and record management through integrated broadband modem LAN switching technology. Therefore, it need more stable and efficient facility management. So, we required practical use of environmental facilities convergence based on broadband integrated modem. In this paper, we proposed an integrated broadband modem LAN switching technology which can applicable to the environment facility. Also, we presented integrated broadband modem of design plan and communication system. And it received data inside of environment facility using the two communication methods(IEEE802.11x and IEEE802.15.4x). Then, our proposed integrated broadband modem LAN switching technology will prioritize processing data when emergency happen through collecting data, analysis data and processing. Lastly, we proved usefulness by experiment and simulation analysis.

  • Because there are numerous near field communication (NFC) technical standards and each standard has an independent communication protocol, an NFC software for controlling the protocols are significantly complicated. Especially, the anticollision algorithm for establishing the initial communication connection is classified into bit-oriented or time slot method according to the technical standards. Moreover, the anticollision algorithm is generally manipulated in software because of its complexity. In addition, since one host processor is shared by multiple modems in a connectivity SoC, embedding several communication modems with an NFC modem, the spare computing resources can be utilized for other modems by reducing the software cost to control the NFC modem. In this paper, we propose new design methods of the NFC modem for supporting anticollision, framing and bit rate detection in the hardware to reduce the software overhead. Therefore, the utilization of the NFC technology is enhanced in the connectivity SoC by minimizing the cost of software.

  • This paper presented the implementation and design of narrowband wireless MODEM for packet transmission. The MODEM consists of transmitter, receiver, and the control unit. The BPSK modulation with narrowband filtering is used. The receiver consists of functional modules such as carrier recovery, bit synchronization, lock detector, etc. We evaluated the performance of packet transmission with three MODEM sets implemented in distributed packet radio network. We confirmed the transmission of packetized data through RS232C port of PC. Also, we presented results of experimental data by using measuring instruments. The implemented MODEM in this paper is expected to be useful for the design of wireless LAN system.

  • The objectives of this study are to forecast the pattern of adolescents that will appear in the future and to contribute to the creation of the fashion styles that meet their tastes. This study analysed the relationship between the features and the fashion of modem adolescents through a comprehensive perspective. And it was focused on a literature study and empirical study. Specifically, for the fashion style of modem adolescents, the study conducted an empirical analysis of the styles shown in pictures selected around key words out of a total of 21 volumes of ${\ulcorner}$SPORT&STREET${\lrcorner}$ from 2001 to 2006. The fashion style of modem adolescents is developing into a different pattern from the past, and by theme this can be classified into sports style, jeans style, romantic style, vintage style, hip-hop style, future style, humor style and ethnic style. The features of modem adolescents, including collective conformity, personal expression, and receptiveness to new concepts, were expressed by unique fashion styles. It is necessary to create a fashion style that modem adolescents, who have diverse tastes and dispositions and are living in this rapidly changing society, can enjoy it by understanding the nature of their features, such as collective conformity, personal expression, and reception to new concepts.

Pattern and Aesthetic Characteristics of Modem Fashion using Typography (타이포그래피를 이용한 현대패션의 유형과 미적 특성)

  • This research covers the ways in which typography, which has been expressed in a diverse range of fields and changed communication functions from the era of reading to the era of feeling according to the change in the times and social demands, has been represented in modem fashion, along with examining its inherent aesthetic characteristics. I reviewed the general information of typography's fundamental notions and functions through documented records, and analyzed the inherent aesthetic characteristics by examining the typographical patterns shown in modem fashion based on art works in domestic and international collections after 2000. The result of this research is that typography in modem fashion has been used for improving brand image, expressing social slogans, expressing images, linguistic function for playful expression and the interdependent relationships of modeling functions. Typography in modem fashion has always been diversely expressed harmoniously with linguistic and modeling functions. Through this, the aesthetic characteristics were firstly parodies through direct sentences addressing political and social ideologies, economic gaps, environmental issues and anti-war protests. Secondly, by using brand logos, typography was used as a commercial means like brand-image transfer and separation through customization of other brands. Thirdly, the aesthetic and artistic value of fashion were expressed after being used as experimental visual components like image, motive and patterns which are all elements of fashion design. Fourthly, by distortion and transformation of characters or childish decorations, along with the harmonization of words, cathartic humor was provided for the calloused senses of modern people.

  • In this paper, we propose a new DSSS-QPSK baseband modem receiver structure. A general receiver consists of matched filter, do-spreader, and DLL(Delay Locked Loop). In this paper, the matched filter plays a role of the do-spreader using the structure similarities between the matched filter and the de-spreader. As a result of the new receiver architecture, we can reduce the computational expenses and get the simpler receiver structure. This result can be used as an important part in designing the high speed modem. And, through the computer simulation and the experiment with the proposed architecture, we show that the proposed receiver structure yields fast operation speed and simple overall architecture.

  • In this study, we improve the performance of telemetry ECG modem using acoustic coupler. The results are as follows : (1) General active filter is replaced by SCF(switched capaciror filter) improving the LPF and BPF characteristics. (2) ECG Pre-amplifier is installed in ECG modem. (3) The interface circuit is designed to store the ECG waveform in casette recorder.

  • We proposed Binary ASK system for 1Giga bit Modem. The Binary ASK system has a high speed shutter transmitter and no IF receiver only by symbol synchronization. The advantage of proposed system is that circuitry is very simple without IF process. The disadvantage of proposed system are that line spectrum occurs unordinary interference to other channels, and enhancement to 4-level system is impossible due to its large SNR degradation.

  • This paper presents the hardware development of a secure modem system for personal computers. This system consists of a data encryption system and an existing modem. The algorithm of LUCIFER-type with block size of 64-bit is used for data encryption and Diffie-Hellman method is also employed for generation of the encryption key. We implement the system in hardware using the DSP56001.
