Design of Contour Error Models using Contour Error Vector (윤곽오차 벡터를 이용한 윤곽오차 모델 설계)

  • The higher precision is demanded in modem manufacturing and it requires the more accurate servo controller. Cross-coupling control (CCC) has been developed to improve contouring motion. In this paper we introduce a new nonlinear CCC that is based on contour-error-vector using a parametric curve interpolator. A vector from the actual tool position to the nearest point on the desire path is directly adopted. The contour-error-vector is determined by constructing a tangential vector of nearest point on desired curve and determining the vector perpendicular to this tangential vector from the actual tool position. Moreover, the vector CCC can apply directly and easily to free-form curves include convex and concave form. The experimental results on a three-axis CNC machine center show that the present approach significantly improves motion accuracy in multi-axis motion

  • The paper presents a small. unmanned remote controlled probing ship that can reduce the cost for acquiring data of marine and coastal environments. The control system is composed of three microprocessors. one is for overall mission control. another for control of propulsion motors. and the other for sensor operation. For communication system, we adopt direct and indirect methods based on the wireless modem of commercial cellular telephone. The former is a direct communication between the modems of the ship and the server. and the latter is an indirect communication via internet between the ship and the server. The system is equipped with a digital compass and a GPS system for position estimation, and extended Kalman filter is used for the data association. The performance of the ship is demonstrated with the results produced by sets of experiments.

  • A gyroscope is a rotating body possessing one axis of symmetry and whose rotation about the symmetry axis is relatively large compared with the rotation about any other axis. Tuning fork is this type of structure that various modem gyro-sensors are based on. In this paper, dynamic behavior of a cantilevered beam subjected ta a base rotation with respect to the eccentric axis that is parallel to the beam axis is analyzed. The final equations of motion in terms of generalized coordinates can be solved with numerical scheme with various values of angular velocities and angular accelerations of the rotating axis. In contrast to the case of rotating cantilever beam like helicopter blade, the rotational motion with respect to the beam axis has effect to decrease the stiffness of the beam and has unstable region depending on the magnitude of the rotational angular velocity and angular acceleration.

  • 무선 환경에서는 한정된 주파수 자원과 소비전력을 고려하여 시스템을 설계하여야 한다. 이와 같은 조건을 만족하는 모뎀기술이 Trellis Coded Modulation(TCM) 방식이다. TCM의 복호 알고리즘으로는 확률적인 최적의 경로추적 알고리즘인 Viterbi 복호 알고리즘을 적용한다. 본 논문에서는 오디오 데이타의 무선전송을 위한 무선모뎀시스템의 수신단에 필요한 Viterbi 디코더를 설계하였다. 설계된 Viterbi 디코더는 고음질의 2채널 무선 오디오 신호(705,6kbps) 처리를 목적으로 하였다. 수신된 데이터에 8-level soft decision을 적용하였다. ACS(Add Compare Select)부와 TB(Traceback) 메모리 블럭은 데이터의 고속처리를 위해 병렬로 설계하였고, traceback depth는 50으로 하였다, 시뮬레이션 결과 설계된 Viterbi 디코더는 1bit, 2bit 등 랜덤하게 발생하는 에러에 대해 정정 능력이 우수하였다.

  • The modem society has increased the needs for both public benefits of forests and the economic functions of forest products. The increased public interest and concern for forests have been resulted from rapid growth of urban population, high industrialization, deterioration of environment, and etc. It is essential to evaluate the productive and environmantal functions of forests with a scientific criteria. The purpose of this study is to introduce the scientific evaluation method of such functions of forests, and to discuss its uses and limitations.

  • This article is focusing on the importance, concepts, and theses of Military Thoughts. This article also tried to find the research trend on the Korean Military Thoughts History. In addition, this article makes a general overview of Yang Seong-ji in the mid 15th Century. The fundamental objects of Military Thoughts are Tactics of a person for Military Affairs and Military Tactical Manuals. The circumstances at that time, the Military System, and Weapon system are based on the preceding two essential elements on Military Thoughts. From now on, this article insist on the necessity of the Study on the History of Korean Military Thoughts focused on a military figure.

  • In this paper, for the performance evaluation of the discrete wavelet multitone based VDSL modem we have studied VDSL system test loops(VDSL0 - VDSL7) that are proposed by ANSI T1E1.4. In addition, we have modeled the damage factors of the transmission channel and evaluated the data transmission performance of VDSL transmultiplexer based on DWMT in conjunction with the VDSL test loops. For each M-PAM signaling we have evaluated the SNRs that satisfy BER 〓 10$^{-7}$ through simulation and measured the maximum possible transmission speed on each VDSL test loop.

  • It is made possible a removal of the preamble for carrier recovery and symbol-timing recovery by storing a burst in memory with low overhead QPSK demodulation and this demodulation method also effects frame efficiency improved by processed synchronization performance. In this paper, we have proposed that new algorithm for arc-tangent look-up table which transform the input I, Q data by phase. This I, Q data plays an important role in demodulation and makes demodulator with low-overhead by storing a burst in memory. To evaluate proposed new algorithm and symbol-timing recovery method, function simulation and timing verification have been done by using synopsys VHDL tool.

  • A new diagnosis method for FPGA interconnects is developed. The proposed method diagnoses all the fault types for FPGA interconnects. It is also applied to all the modem FPGA devices like Xilinx Virtex FPGAS. Most of all, it takes shorter time to diagnose all the faults than previous diagnosis methods.

A Benchmark Study of Design Codes on Offshore Pipeline Collapse for Ultra-Deepwater

  • The objective of this paper is to summarize current ultra-deepwater (i.e., up to 3,500 meters water depth) pipeline mechanical design methodologies as part of the limit state design. The standard mechanical design for ultra-deepwater pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) is based on API RP 1111. API code also has been used for deepwater projects in west Africa. DNV code OS-F101 was mostly used for deepwater projects in offshore Brazil and Europe. Some pipeline designs in the GOM have started to incorporate parts of the DNV design methodology. A discussion of failure under collapse only and combined loading (i.e. pressure + bending) is presented. The best design criteria are obtained from physical full-scale collapse testing. The comparison of the physical test data and collapse calculations using the DNV and API codes will be presented. It was found that the conservatism still exists in the collapse prediction for ultra-deepwater pipeline using modem design codes such as DNV OS-F101 and API RP 1111.
