  • The present study obtained universal mathematical models of all elements and characteristics regarding hook and line fishing systems. To describe the hook and line fishing systems on site we used three kinds of coordinate systems: the earth based coordinate system, natural coordinate system, and flow (velocity) coordinate system. Mathematical models presented in this article allow us to define the shape of the fishing gear, the tension of the rope at different points, hydrodynamic resistance, diameter of the hook's wire, immersion depth of the fishing hooks, distance from hooks to the ground and the required lifting force of the floats. These models allow for the performance of computer simulations regarding any kinds of hook and line gears in still water or water where flow occurs.

  • This study aims to find the elementary mathematics teachers' satisfaction, availability, and needs, based on the mathematics teaching models in current mathematics curriculum. The satisfaction on current mathematics teaching models is about 80%, but the frequency of usage of the models is a bit low because the models are used once a unit or a semester. Among other subjects, the teachers prefer the teaching models of social studies or science, because the models are convenient in applying models to their teaching. We proposed a few ideas to enhance the availability of mathematics teaching models including the consideration on a variety of content areas of mathematics, students' differences of their mathematics levels, and the teaching and learning methods in mathematics curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study was to propose the basic models of the housewives' educational program for the healthy families support center. For this purpose the role & function of the healthy families support center and the cases about the housewives' educational program of related institutions were analysed. Based on of this materials this study proposed 2 types of program model : 1. the balance of individual-family-society parts oriented model, and 2. the healthy families CEO oriented model. And the strategies for the more effective management of each model were suggested.

  • This paper is to explore examples of complementary use of digital and physical models. The reason for this is to suggest a method for commercializing architectural design considering high technology. These cases are the practical and educational environment in which design processes based on digital computation technology are performed. Also, in this environment, analog design media (eg, physical models) still being used in the design process using digital computing. Indeed, in this environment, designers are exploiting digital and physical models to address the types of risks that can be discovered when designs are implemented and these risks. By analyzing these cases, we define the roles of digital and physical models to visualize and resolve risks. This paper focuses on one of method as "prototyping", which is used in the field of machinery and is a difficult method to carry out in the conventional design process. In particular, designers look for benefits that encourage designers in utilizing current digital computation technologies (eg, parametric design, simulation, building information models, and digital fabrication). Among the roles of the physical model, roles that can not be replaced by the digital model are explored. It is clear that this case-based study has difficulty in generalizing the design method. However, it helps the designers of today's practical and educational environment to verify and design the actual details of construction and operation when applying and developing unfamiliar materials and methods in the field of architecture.

  • This paper provides an account of gamification in education. Apart from its emergence, it clarifies how gamification differs from gaming and game-based learning. It also discusses the elements of gamification, its advantages and its principles. It also sketches the theoretical underpinning of the concept, the models, its various applications, and the obstacles to using it in the educational process.

  • To improve educational performance by analyzing the learning trends of adult learners of Open High Schools, various algorithm models using artificial intelligence were designed and performance was evaluated by applying them to real data. We analyzed Log data of 115 adult learners in the cyber education system of Open High Schools. Most adult learners of Open High Schools learned more than recommended learning time, but at the end of the semester, the actual learning time was significantly reduced compared to the recommended learning time. In the second half of learning, the participation rate of VODs, formation assessments, and learning activities also decreased. Therefore, in order to improve educational performance, learning time should be supported to continue in the second half. In the latter half, we developed an artificial intelligence algorithm models using Tensorflow to predict learning time by data they started taking the course. As a result, when using CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) model to predict single or multiple outputs, the mean-absolute-error is lowest compared to other models.

  • There have been many discussions of models in mathematics education. Although there has been some agreement regarding the importance of clarifying perspectives on the concept and didactic significance of models, there is still no clear consensus on these issues. This study examines articles focused on models in mathematics education in order to clarify theoretical perspectives on models in the research community. The results of this study show that there are three perspectives on models in mathematics education and that these perspectives are closely related to researchers' ontological stances on mathematical knowledge and interpretations of the epistemological role of the model.

  • This study aims to suggest a fundamental directions and models of school construction for 21st century. According to the changing educational situation(the 7th national curriculum), it examined the scholarly foundations(historical-philosophical, teaching-learning theoretical, and socio-economical foundation) of school construction. As a result, it suggest a general three models as follows : (1) intelligent school building, (2) community education center, (3) and ecological environment school.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to build computer models referring overall flow of complex and various semiconductor wafer manufacturing process and to implement a educational model which operates with a presentation tool showing device design. It is important that Korean semiconductor industries secure high competitive power on efficient manufacturing management and to develop technology continuously. Models representing the FAB processes and the functions of each process are developed for Seoul National University Semiconductor Research Center. However, it is expected that the models are effective as visually educational tools in Korean semiconductor industries. In addition, it is anticipated that these models are useful for semiconductor process courses in academia. Scalability and flexibility allow semiconductor manufacturers to customize the models and perform simulation education. Subsequently, manufacturers save budget.

  • This paper Presents two distribution-feeder models to simplify complicated distribution system calculations. These equivalent models are developed to simulate the total series voltage drop at the end of the given feeder and the total line loss of the given feeder accurately. In addition, the proposed models are bidirectional. This means that power infeed can be at either end and the model is accurate. Also, it is shown that the proposed models are suitable for network reconfiguration.
