  • In preparing for the unification of North and South Korea, rather than unilaterally over-writing the North's human resource training system with the South's health care human resource development system, it is important to understand the North's system and its ecology and to achieve a balance by seeking out aspects of each of the systems that could be consolidated with each other. The training period in both the North and South's health care human resource development systems is specified to be 6 years, but there is no system for internships or residencies in the North. South Korea introduced a 6-year system for pharmacist education in 2009, but North Korea has been using such a system since the 1970s (currently 5.5 years). In North Korea, training of health care personnel is conducted at various levels: at universities, at vocational schools, and at institutes for training health officials. Various types of training (daytime training, online, and ad hoc programs) are carried out. Also of interest is the North's licensure examination system. Rather than a state examination system as in South Korea, the North favors a graduation exam given by a national graduation examination committee composed of university professors, which awards both graduation certificates and 'permits,' that is, licenses for doctors and pharmacists. In working out a plan for the integration of the two Koreas' systems based on the study and analysis of the North's educational and testing system for doctors and pharmacists, this paper does not place exclusive focus on the distinctions between the systems or cling to negative views. Rather than claim that unification/integration is a practical impossibility, the paper focuses on the similarities between the two systems and maximizes them to uncover an approach for arriving at solutions. It is hoped that the practical data offered in this paper can contribute to the design of a forward-minded unification/integration model.

  • This study aimed to identify curriculum gaps and a pilot study to provide the programs for selection during clerkship. Over the course of a clerkship, students analyze the current level and the needs level of TLO (terminal learning objectives) based on the book "Learning outcome of basic medical education: Scientific concept and principle-centered." We conducted a needs assessment utilizing a t-test, Borich Needs Assessment, and the Locus for Focus model. In the investigation of the needs level, the levels of the musculoskeletal and respiratory systems were relatively high and in the investigation of the current level, the levels of the digestive and musculoskeletal systems were relatively high. This study is expected to contribute to reasonable decision-making by utilizing various methods of analysis and providing in-depth results of needs analysis in designing clerkship curriculum.

  • An optical method was introduced to investigate the dispersion stability of Saengshik beverages (SB) containing 3.7-11.7% Saengshik powder (SP). Time course changes in backscattering light flux (BSLF) from SB were monitored by a Turbiscan. BSLF in the bottom and top layers of SB increased by forming sediment and foam, respectively, while that in the middle layer decreased by clarifying. With SP levels, sedimentation in SB was retarded, but the height of total sedimentation layer was increased. A logarithmic model was developed to fit to the changes in BSLF with time, showing determination coefficients of 0.979-0.988. The levels of SP in SB influenced the migration speed of the clarification front as well as the numbers of separated layers; 2 layers in SB containing 3.7% SP, 3 in 5.7-9.7%, and 4 in 11.7%. Formation of clear layers started after 17-29 min and continued for 22-53 min. The clarification was retarded most in SB containing 7.7% SP, indicating the most stable SP level for the SB preparation.

  • This research focuses on analysis of the flight trajectory characteristics of SLBM (Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile) of North Korea. Recently, North Korea tested launching of SLBM which is threatening international security. Also it is known that North Korea had possessed the technologies about SLBM since they disassembled submarines out of commission of the former Soviet Union. If the development of the SLBM of North Korea is completed, it should be affected as asymmetric threat to South Korea. Therefore, for active respondence to these threat, it is essential to analyze the SLBM systematically. In this point of view, this work made a SLBM flight model and simulated. In addition, we controled flight trajectories according to adjusting loft angle and described their characteristics. The sea-based ballistic missile defense system is required for an effective response to the flight trajectory of the SLBM from mid-course to terminal phase.

  • This article aims to investigate the impact of Korean employment protection legislation that has implemented since 2007 on eliminating discrimination on non-regular worker's wage and social security. It is used the panel Tobit model reflecting the variation of implementation time according to the size of establishments. Although the employment protection laws for non-regular workers have implemented, the wage gap and discrimination in social security for non-regular workers have continued. Of course, the discrepancies on wage and social security were founded not only between regular and non-regular workers but also within non-regular workers. For reducing the discriminations, this study proposes to restrict the reason for justifying discrimination, and the introduction of a new approach to accessing the discrimination and complimentary credit system. Besides, this study suggests to actively review the strengthening of regulations on the use of non-regular workers.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the training standards for HF of aviation maintenance reflecting the growing relevance of aviation maintenance technicians' ability to perform their work for the safety and efficiency of airline operation. For this purpose, previous studies on the concept of human factors were examined, and the HF training standards of the advanced international aviation bureaus such as the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO), Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency(EASA) were compared with the operational technical standards of Korea Aviation Safety Law. In addition, the actual status of human factors education and training were examined for Korea's two full service carriers (FSC) and four of the low cost carriers (LCC). The study results revealed that Korea's human factors education and training standards were weak compared with international standards, and that most airlines were not able to systematically implement human factors education and training. These results complement the existing problem of training standards for aviation maintenance human factors in Korea and support the development of a standard model of the training course for aviation maintenance human factors which meets international standards.

  • The government has proposed a development model for universities to strengthen the capacity of the College of Humanities as part of the university restructuring policy in line with the trend of the times, and encouraged each university to voluntarily induce the establishment of the humanities development plan through financial support under their own individual conditions. With the decline in the school-age population due to the declining fertility rate, the rapid change in the industrial structure has highlighted the decline in the employment rate of the students of the humanities. Therefore, the government is implementing university grading based on the results of the university structural reform evaluation, and pressing low-grade universities through reduction of capacity and reduction of support. In the course of this change, universities have designated the College of Humanities as the primary target of integration with other majors or and its disintegration. This study examines the direction of the government's attempt to change the humanities in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and suggests a precedent example during the reform of the humanities college. If the humanities college is integrated with practical studies such as management, design, IT, CT, and engineering, the strengths of the humanities can be highlighted. However, the results of this study suggest that many variables such as consideration of students' aptitudes and interests in the integration process of majors, autonomy in major selection, understanding between departments integrated, and demand for a single major before integration or disintegration should be considered. In addition, an example of a local private university shows that the hasty attempt to integrate or disintegrate the humanities can rather lead to various educational harms.
