유체유동 외팔 파이프의 고유진동수에 미치는 이동질량들의 영향 (The Influence of Moving Masses on Natural Frequency of Cantilever Pipe Conveying Fluid)

  • The vibrational system of this study is consisted of a cantilever pipe conveying fluid, the moving masses upon it and an attached tip mass. The equation of motion is derived by using Lagrange equation. The influences of the velocity and the number of moving masses and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the natural frequency of a cantilever pipe by numerical method. As the size and number of a moving mass increases, the natural frequency of cantilever pipe conveying fluid is decreased. When the first a moving mass Is located at the end of cantilever pipe, the increasing of the distance of moving masses make the natural frequency increase at first and third mode, but the frequency of second mode is decreased. The variation of natural frequency of the system is decreased due to increase of the number of a moving mass. The number and distance of moving masses effect more on the frequency of higher mode of vibration.

Damage identification of structures by reduction of dynamic matrices using the modified modal strain energy method

  • Damage detection of structures is one of the most important topics in structural health monitoring. In practice, the response is not available at all structural degrees of freedom, and due to the installation of sensors at some degrees of freedom, responses exist only in limited number of degrees of freedom. This paper is investigated the damage detection of structures by applying two approaches, AllDOF and Dynamic Condensation Method (DCM), based on the Modified Modal Strain Energy Method (MMSEBI). In the AllDOF method, mode shapes in all degrees of freedom is available, but in the DCM the mode shapes only in some degrees of freedom are available. Therefore by methods like the DCM, mode shapes are obtained in slave degrees of freedom. So, in the first step, the responses at slave degrees of freedom extracted using the responses at master degrees of freedom. Then, using the reconstructed mode shape and obtaining the modified modal strain energy, the damages are detected. Two standard examples are used in different damage cases to evaluate the accuracy of the mentioned method. The results showed the capability of the DCM is acceptable for low mode shapes to detect the damage in structures. By increasing the number of modes, the AllDOF method identifies the locations of the damage more accurately.

유공직사각형평판(有孔直四角形平板)의 접수진동(接水振動) (Transverse Vibration of Rectangular Plates Having an Inner Cutout in Water)

  • This paper is concerned with the experimental investigation of transverse vibration characteristics in water of rectangular plates having an inner free cutout. Systematic experiments are carried out to investigate effects of the surrounding water on the added mass and the natural frequency of the plates due to the changes of the aspect ratio, hole size and eccentricity. The main subject is the clamped rectangular plate with a circular hole. For the purpose of comparative evaluations, some other common-type boundary conditions and hole shapes such as ellipses and rectangles are also investigated. Some of the results obtain are as follows; 1) For each given aspect ratio of the plate, there is a hole area ratio which gives a minimum value of the nondimensional frequency parameter for each mode. The hole area ratio increases as the order number of the mode increases. 2) The nondimensinal mass-increment parameter decreases as the aspect ration or the order number of the mode increases. For each given aspect ratio, the parameter the fundamental mode decreases monotonically as the hole area ratio increase. In cases of the second and higher order modes, however, each mode has a hole area ratio which gives a maximum value of the parameter for each aspect ratio more then 2/3. 3) Comparing elliptic holes with rectangular ones with same hole area ratio, nondimensional frequency parameters are almost same for each given ratio of the shorter axises to the longer one. 4) The influences of difference in boundary condion on nondimensional frequency parameters in water are similar to those in air.

  • 동적해석에 대한 최근의 연구는 구조물의 자유도보다 적은 모우드 형상들을 사용하여 구조물을 해석하는 효과적인 방법을 찾는데 있다. Ritz알고리즘과 모우드가속도법은 모우드중첩법을 개선하고자 개발되었는데, Ritz알고리즘은 하중의 공간적 특성을 포함하지만, 계산과정에서 유용한 직교성을 잃는 경향이 있으며, 모우드가속도법은 만족할 만한 해를 얻기 위해 많은 수의 모우드 형상들을 고려해야 하는 단점이 있다. 또한 앞의 두 방법을 조합한 방법이 개발되었으나 너무 많은 계산과정과 시간을 필요로 한다. 이 연구의 목적은 Lanczos알고리즘을 이용하여 Ritz알고리즘의 효율성과 정확성을 보완하고 이를 프로그램화하여 검증하는데 있다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 Modified Ritz알고리즘을 이용한 동적해석방법이 합리적임이 증명되었다.

소아 흉부 CT 검사에서 관전압 80 kVp 조건으로 스캔 모드별 방사선량 감소와 화질 평가 (The Evaluation of Dose Reduction and Quality of Images According to 80 kVp of Scan Mode Change in Pediatric Chest CT)

  • 소아 흉부 CT 검사 시 방사선 피폭을 최소화 하면서 진단적으로 가치가 높은 영상을 얻기 위해서 Helical mode, High-pitch mode, Volume Axial mode를 적용하여서 선량, 검사시간, 화질을 비교하여 유용성을 평가하고자 한다. Revolution(GE Healthcare, Wisconsin USA)을 이용하여 PBU-70팬텀을 Helical mode, High-pitch mode, Volume Axial mode로 각각의 그룹으로 나누어서 관전압 80kVp, 조건으로 30회 검사를 실시하였다. 영상을 획득 한 후에 각각의 영상에 심장(Heart), 뼈(Bone), 폐(Lung), Back-ground air에 ROI를 설정하고 CT number(HU)와 noise(SD)값을 측정하여 평균값을 구하고 SNR과 CNR을 측정하였고, 장비에서 직접 제공하는 DLP값 비교하였다. 통계적인 유의성을 확인해보기 통계 분석은 SPSS 21.0을 사용하여 ONE-WAY-ANAOVA를 시행하였다. 본 실험을 통해 검사 시 volume axial mode 사용 시 가장 적은 선량으로 영상의 화질 저하 없이 빠른 시간에 검사가 가능하였다. 16cm의 detector coverage 가 모든 소아 흉부 CT검사에 적용하기에 제한점이 있으나 가능한 소아환자에 있어 적극적인 활용을 추천하며 volume axial mode의 다른 검사부위 적용에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하리라 사료된다.

초등학생의 VARK 학습양식과 과학적 의사소통 능력의 관계 (An Analysis on the Relation of Elementary Students' VARK Styles and Scientific Communication Skills)

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm correlation between elementary school students' VARK Learning styles test and Scientific Communication Skills through VARK questionnaire (version 7.3) for Youngers and Scientific Communication Skills Test. The subjects were 99 in 6th grade students of an elementary school located in Gyeonggi-do, Korea. The results of this study were as follows: 64% of the students had multiple learning styles, but only 36% of the students preferred a single mode of information presentation. Among students had a single mode preference, the aural ("A") was the highest unimodal preference. Among "V(visual)" mode, "A" mode, "R(read/write)" mode, and "K(kinesthetic)" mode, "A" mode was the commonest learning mode which students had. In Scientific Communication Skills Test, students' overall average was 26.19p [scientific explanation type (11.85p), scientific insistence type (14.34p)]. Girls' scores were higher than boys in scientific explanation type, but not in scientific insistence type. The scores by communication forms were Text (5.67p), Number (6.87p), Table (6.15p), and Picture (7.49p). Girls' scores were higher than boys in Text and Picture forms but not in Number and Table forms. In result of correlation analysis (Spearman's rho) between VARK Learning Styles and the types & forms of Scientific Communication Skills, there were common correlation in "Read/write (R) learning style-Scientific insistence type", "Read/write (R) learning style-Grounds of Scientific insistence", "Read/write (R) learning style-Description of Scientific explanation", and "R learning style-Text form".

Embodied Energy and $CO_2$ Emissions Evaluation for Freight Transport

  • This study aim at demonstrating the environmental performance of freight transport of the rail and road mode through an indicator of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions. Using the concept of LCA, the scope of evaluation includes energy production, supply chain activity and operation. The results of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions are normalized by means of traffic volume. The results shown that embodied $CO_2$ emissions road mode is 607.07 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ and 284.67 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ for road and rail mode, respectively. This number reveals that road mode is 2.1 times larger than rail mode. The results also indicate that the main contribution of $CO_2$ emission from road mode is in the operation stage, which accounts for 70%; however, it is the construction and supply chain stage that accounts for over 50% of the emission of rail mode.

Intra-Mixture Prediction Mode and Enhanced Most Probable Mode Estimation for Intra Coding

  • We present intra-mixture prediction (IMP) mode for intra prediction and an enhanced estimation method for most probable mode (MPM). IMP mode supports more flexibility in intra prediction by mixing $4{\times}4$ blocks and $8{\times}8$ blocks in one macroblock, while the enhanced MPM estimation extends the number of referenced neighboring blocks and efficiently uses their prediction modes depending on their positions. Simulation results show that the combination of both proposed methods provides a bit reduction in the Bj${\phi}$ntegaard delta bitrate by an average of 2.56% compared to H.264/AVC.

Enhancement of Wireless Power Transfer Efficiency Using Higher Order Spherical Modes

  • We derive the Z-parameters for the two coupled antennas used for wireless power transfer under the assumption that the antennas are canonical minimum scattering antennas. Using the Z-parameter and the maximum power transfer efficiency formula, we determine the maximum power transfer efficiency of wireless power transfer systems. The results showed that the maximum power transfer efficiency increases as the mode number or the radiation efficiency increases. To verify the theory, we fabricate and measure two different power transfer systems: one comprises two antennas generating $TM_{01}$ mode; the other comprises two antennas generating $TM_{02}$ mode. When the distance between the centers of the antennas was 30 cm, the maximum power transfer efficiency of the antennas generating the $TM_{02}$ mode increased by 62 % compared to that of the antennas generating the $TM_{01}$ mode.

출력포트 확장 방식을 사용한 입출력 버퍼형 ATM 교환기에서의 성능 비교 분석 (Performance Analysis of Input-Output Buffering ATM Switch with Output-port Expansion Mechanism)

  • 입력과 출력에 버퍼를 갖는 ATM 교환기의 셀 폐기 방법은 기존의 귀환(Backpressure)모드와 손실(Queueloss)모드가 있으며, 최근에는 두 모드의 단점을 보완한 하이브리드(Hybrid)모드가 제안되었다. 하이브리드모드는 목적하는 출력 버퍼와 입력 버퍼가 모두 포화일 경우에만 셀을 폐기하는 방식이다. 본 논문에서는 유니폼 트래픽하에서 Output-port expansion 기법을 사용한 귀환 손실 모드 및 하이브리드모드 하에서의 셀 손실률과 셀 지연을 성능 비교 분석한다 Output-port expansion 기법은, 한 타임 슬롯동안에 입력포트 당 하나의 셀만 교환되며, 만약 하나 이상의 셀들이 같은 출력포트로 향하고자 하면, 최대 교환되는 셀 수를 K(Output-port expansion ratio)개로 제한하는 방식이다. 셀 손실률을 비교 분석한 결과, 이전의 연구에서와는 달리 로드 0.9를 기점으로. 0.9이하의 로드에서는 하이브리드 모드가, 0.9 이상의 로드에서는 손실모드가 가장 낮은 셀 손실률을 보인다. 셀 지연을 비교 분석한 결과, 한 개의 교환기 성능 분석에서는 셀 손실로 인한 재전송(retransmission)을 고려하지 않는 관계로, 예상한 바와 같이, 로드가 많아질수록 셀 손실률이 높은 귀환모드가 K를 높일수록 다른 모드에 비해 낮은 셀 지연을 보였다.
