The first Procedure to identify structural system by using measured data is transformation of data to frequency domain and try to recognize modal characteristics in graphical condition. Those methods are doubted about the reliability to the civil structures, especially bridges which has coupled and close modal characteristics. In this paper, feasibility of time domain modal Identification methods were examined and applied double least square method to overcome bias characteristics of the identification methods. To show the advantage of proposed method, simulation were carried out for mass-spring model. And to examine the usage of the method in realistic case, sensitivity of the methods to noise was performed.

This paper proposes a multimodal information transformation system that converts the image information to the voice information to provide the sight impaired people with walking area and obstacles, which are extracted by an acquired image from a single CCD camera. Using a chain-code line detection algorithm, the walking area is found from the vanishing point and boundary of a sidewalk on the edge image. And obstacles are detected by Gabor filter of extracting vertical lines on the walking area. The proposed system expresses the voice information of pre-defined sentences, consisting of template words which mean walking area and obstacles. The multi-modal information transformation system serves the useful voice information to the sight impaired that intend to reach their destination. The experiments of the proposed algorithm has been implemented on the indoor and outdoor environments, and verified its superiority to exactly provide walking parameters sentences.
Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT) is one of the most useful way to analyze response signal for the purpose of grasping the dynamic characteristics of system. Vibration test using impact hammer is typical and simple experimental method widely used for catching hold of dynamic peculiar characters and modal behaviors of system. In this thesis, impact testing module for NI-PXI equipment is developed. The analyzing and visualizing module are developed with LabVIEW tool. A user can see quickly and easily modal shape of system after analyzing acquired data. This developed module will be expected to build up more convenient and serviceable measurement system.
We present a method for improving the accuracy of the modal wavefront reconstruction in the radial shearing interferometers (RSIs). Our approach involves expanding the reduced radial terms of Zernike polynomials to high-order, which enables more precise reconstruction of the wavefront aberrations with high-spatial frequency. We expanded the reduced polynomials up to infinite order with symbolic variables of the radius, shearing amount, and transformation matrix elements. For the simulation of the modal wavefront reconstruction, we generated a target wavefront subsequently, magnified and measured wavefronts were generated. To validate the effectiveness of the high-order Zernike polynomials, we applied both low- and high-order polynomials to the wavefront reconstruction process. Consequently, the peak-to-valley (PV) and RMS errors notably decreased with values of 0.011λ and 0.001λ, respectively, as the order of the radial Zernike polynomial increased.
In modal analysis, the mode shape reflects the vibration characteristics of the structure, and thus it is widely performed for finite element model updating and structural health monitoring. Generally, the acceleration-based mode shape is suitable to express the characteristics of structures for the translational vibration; however, it is difficult to represent the rotational mode at boundary conditions. A tilt sensor and gyroscope capable of measuring rotational mode are used to analyze the overall behavior of the structure, but extracting its mode shape is the major challenge under the small vibration always. Herein, we conducted a feasibility study on a multi-mode shape estimating approach utilizing a single physical quantity signal. The basic concept of the proposed method is to receive multi-metric dynamic responses from two sensors and obtain mode shapes through bridge loading test with relatively large deformation. In addition, the linear transformation matrix for estimating two mode shapes is derived, and the mode shape based on the gyro sensor data is obtained by acceleration response using ambient vibration. Because the structure's behavior with respect to translational and rotational mode can be confirmed, the proposed method can obtain the total response of the structure considering boundary conditions. To verify the feasibility of the proposed method, we pre-measured dynamic data acquired from five accelerometers and five gyro sensors in a lab-scale test considering bridge structures, and obtained a linear transformation matrix for estimating the multi-mode shapes. In addition, the mode shapes for two physical quantities could be extracted by using only the acceleration data. Finally, the mode shapes estimated by the proposed method were compared with the mode shapes obtained from the two sensors. This study confirmed the applicability of the multi-mode shape estimation approach for accurate damage assessment using multi-dimensional mode shapes of bridge structures, and can be used to evaluate the behavior of structures under ambient vibration.

Vibration modes obtained from a modal analysis can be better explained from a screw theoretical standpoint. A vibration mode can be geometrically interpreted as a pure rotation about the vibration center in a plane and as the twisting motion on a screw in a three dimensional space. This paper, presents the method to diagonalize a spatial stiffness matrix by use of a parallel axis congruence transformation. It also describes that the stiffness matrix diagonalized by a congruence transformation, can have the planes of symmetry depending on the location of the center of elasticity. For a plane of symmetry, any vibration mode can be expressed by the axis of vibration. Analytical solutions for the axis of vibration has been derived.
A cantilever beam with a breathing crack is studied to improve the breathing crack identification sensitivity by the parametric optimization of sample entropy and wavelet transformation. Crack breathing is a special bi-linear phenomenon experienced by fatigue cracks which are under dynamic loadings. Entropy is a measure, which can quantify the complexity or irregularity in system dynamics, and hence employed to quantify the bi-linearity/irregularity of the vibration response, which is induced by the breathing phenomenon of a fatigue crack. To improve the sensitivity of entropy measurement for crack identification, wavelet transformation is merged with entropy. The crack identification is studied under different sinusoidal excitation frequencies of the cantilever beam. It is found that, for the excitation frequencies close to the first modal frequency of the beam structure, the method is capable of detecting only 22% of the crack depth percentage ratio with respect to the thickness of the beam. Using parametric optimization of sample entropy and wavelet transformation, this crack identification sensitivity is improved up to 8%. The experimental studies are carried out, and experimental results successfully validate the numerical parametric optimization process.

Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT) is one of the most useful way to analyze response signal for the purpose of grasping the dynamic characteristics of system. Excitation is a factor or process making noise or vibration. It's typical and simple experimental method widely used for catching hold of dynamic peculiar characters and modal behaviors of system by frequency analysis. There are harmonic excitation, impact excitation, random excitation, sweep excitation, chirp excitation and so on as the ideal method in an experiment using exciter. In this thesis, excitation testing module for NI-PXI equipment is developed. The analyzing module is developed with LabVIEW tool. A user can generate each waveform for shaking a structure and see quickly and easily modal shape of system with this module. This developed module will be expected to build up more convenient and serviceable measurement system.
The present work utilizes system identification technique for health monitoring of shear building, wherein Parametric State Space modeling has been adopted. The method requires input excitation to the structure and also output acceleration responses of both undamaged and damaged structure obtained from numerically simulated model. Modal parameters like eigen frequencies and eigen vectors have been extracted from the State Space model after introducing appropriate transformation. Least square technique has been utilized for the evaluation of the stiffness matrix after having obtained the modal matrix for the entire structure. Highly accurate values of stiffness of the structure could be evaluated corresponding to both the undamaged as well as damaged state of a structure, while considering noise in the simulated output response analogous to real time scenario. The damaged floor could also be located very conveniently and accurately by this adopted strategy. This method of damage detection can be applied in case of output acceleration responses recorded by sensors from the actual structure. Further, in case of even limited availability of sensors along the height of a multi-storeyed building, the methodology could yield very accurate information related to structural stiffness.

Recently, continuous dimensional emotion recognition from audiovisual clues has attracted increasing attention in both theory and in practice. The large amount of data involved in the recognition processing decreases the efficiency of most bimodal information fusion algorithms. A novel algorithm, namely the incomplete Cholesky decomposition based kernel cross factor analysis (ICDKCFA), is presented and employed for continuous dimensional audiovisual emotion recognition, in this paper. After the ICDKCFA feature transformation, two basic fusion strategies, namely feature-level fusion and decision-level fusion, are explored to combine the transformed visual and audio features for emotion recognition. Finally, extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the ICDKCFA approach on the AVEC 2016 Multimodal Affect Recognition Sub-Challenge dataset. The experimental results show that the ICDKCFA method has a higher speed than the original kernel cross factor analysis with the comparable performance. Moreover, the ICDKCFA method achieves a better performance than other common information fusion methods, such as the Canonical correlation analysis, kernel canonical correlation analysis and cross-modal factor analysis based fusion methods.
