  • One of the main goals of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is to utilize the energy of sensor nodes effectively and maximize the network lifetime. Thus, this paper proposed a routing protocol for WSNs based on virtual force disturbing mobile Sink node (VFMSR). According to the number of sensor nodes in the cluster, the average energy and the centroid factor of the cluster, a new cluster head (CH) election fitness function was designed. At the same time, a hexagonal fixed-point moving trajectory model with the best radius was constructed, and the virtual force was introduced to interfere with it, so as to avoid the frequent propagation of sink node position information, and reduce the energy consumption of CH. Combined with the improved ant colony algorithm (ACA), the shortest transmission path to Sink node was constructed to reduce the energy consumption of long-distance data transmission of CHs. The simulation results showed that, compared with LEACH, EIP-LEACH, ANT-LEACH and MECA protocols, VFMSR protocol was superior to the existing routing protocols in terms of network energy consumption and network lifetime, and compared with LEACH protocol, the network lifetime was increased by more than three times.

  • This paper proposes a new spectrum forecasting (SF) model to estimate the spectrum demands for future mobile broadband (MBB) services. The model requires five main input metrics, that is, the current available spectrum, site number growth, mobile data traffic growth, average network utilization, and spectrum efficiency growth. Using the proposed SF model, the future MBB spectrum demand for Malaysia in 2020 is forecasted based on the input market data of four major mobile telecommunication operators represented by A-D, which account for approximately 95% of the local mobile market share. Statistical data to generate the five input metrics were obtained from prominent agencies, such as the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, OpenSignal, Analysys Mason, GSMA, and Huawei. Our forecasting results indicate that by 2020, Malaysia would require approximately 307 MHz of additional spectrum to fulfill the enormous increase in mobile broadband data demands.

  • VoIP is a core technology used to transmit both voice and data in an integrated packet' form. Within this technology, SIP is the signaling protocol used for 'real time' call services; particularly those where H323 is used. Yet, when considering the needs of mobile users, it is essential we integrate VoIp within the mobile technology so the mobile host is able to receive the 'packet' transported and by, and connected to, any available internet-address. For all this to occur, we need to improve Network Delay by reducing transmission problems associated with mobile services. If we are to obtain an optimal service then we must reduce any network delays which may arise from joining Mobile IP and VoIp services. This paper, therefore, considers how, unlike previous research, these delays may be improved through the use of the signaling technology\ulcorner SIP. It also considers how this research may be introduced into current wired and wireless integrated services enabling them to use the IP 'packet'.

  • When a Mobile IP handoff occurs, the packets in flight can be lost because they are tunneled based on out-of-date location information. In this parer, we propose an enhanced handoff protocol that achieves no packet loss during Mobile IP handoff over a wireless LAN. Our handoff protocol predicts the next foreign agent that a mobile host is to visit by using: the information from the data link layer of wireless LAN. After that, when a Mobile IP handoff occult, the current foreign agent forwards the packets destined to a mobile host to the predicted foreign agent which buffers them. This eliminates packet loss and reduces the packet forwarding delay. Our handoff protocol is simulated using the Network Simulator-2 (ns-2) and shows the substantial performance enhancement of TCP with much less overhead up to 6.2 times compared to standard Mobile IP.

  • Providing the sufficient energy to the mobile device is essential to process the job in distributed wireless network. To solve the restrained conditions of energy problems of mobile devices, this paper suggests the efficient method of processing the distributed job using mobility management in wireless network. Energy consumption can be analyzed using the statistical model and required energy of processing the distributed job in mobile device can be predicted using the mobility management. Therefore, this paper suggests the reliable algorithm to process distributed job through the mobile devices with regular mobility and shows the efficiency of the suggested algorithm.

  • The explosive growth in wireless networks and Internet services has created considerable demand for mobile Internet services based on the mobile phone. Mobile Internet has become the new business model in telecommunication market, therefore the open network policy for mobile Internet has been formulated and implemented by the government in Korea. In spite of the open network policy for mobile Internet, there has been no systematic analysis of the various interconnection issues, including pricing, in mobile Internet network. This paper aims to suggest the interconnection pricing methods for mobile Internet network by reviewing the current pricing models for various communications services, and adapting them to mobile Internet communications circumstances. Results of this paper can be used as a guideline for government policy directions and management decision making after the introduction of the open network policy for mobile Internet.

  • In this paper, the position control of a car-like mobile robot using neural network is proposed. The positional information of the mobile robot is given by a laser range finder located remotely through wireless communication. The heading angle is measured by a gyro sensor. Considering these two sensor information as references, the robot posture by localization is corrected by a cascaded controller. In order to improve the tracking performance, a neural network with a cascaded controller is used to compensate for any uncertainty in the robot. The remotely located neural network filter modifies the reference trajectories to minimize the positional errors by wireless communication. A car-like mobile robot is built as a test-bed and experimental studies of proposed several control algorithms are performed. It turns out that the best position control can be achieved by a cascaded controller with neural network.

  • Recently, network component become to follow wireless and mobile network from wired network proposed that many TCP algorithm optimized in variety environment. When TCP was created, however as it was design based on wired link, wireless link made more transmission error than wired link. Transmission errors are more frequent and may be incorrectly regarded as indications of network congestion. In this paper, it conduct how effect congestion control algorithm in Mobile ad-hoc network and compare traffic of TCP-Tahoe, TCP-Reno, TCP-New-Reno and TCP-Vegas in Mobile ad-hoc environment.

  • A mobile Ad Hoc network is a dynamic mobile wireless network that can be formed without the need for any pre-existing wired or wireless infrastructure. A mobile ad hoc node has limited battery capacity. Hence, Ad Hoc routing protocol ought to be energy conservative. Previous energy aware routing has limit in fairness among nodes and network wide power consumption. In this research, we propose a new routing protocol called Clustering Based Energy-Aware Routing(CBEAR) which can improve the problems. Simulation results show that the routing protocol improves fairness and network wide power consumption as well as life time of nodes.

  • This paper presents a simple sensor network consists of a group of sensors, RF components, and microprocessors, to perform a distributed sensing and information transmission using wireless links. In the proposed sensor network, though each sensor node has a limited capability and a simple signal-processing engine, a group of sensor nodes can perform a various tasks through coordinated information sharing and wireless communication in a large working area. Using the capability of self-localization and tracking, we show the sensor network can be applied to localization and navigation of mobile robot in which the robot has to be coordinated effectively to perform given task in real time.
