A Study on Security Consideration and Utilization of Domestic Encryption Algorithm for Developing Secure Smartphone Applications (안전한 스마트폰 애플리케이션 개발을 위한 보안 고려사항 및 국산암호알고리즘 적용 방안 연구)

  • A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic feature phone. Unlike feature phone, a smartphone allows the user to install and run more advanced applications based on a specific platform. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers. A smartphone will become the default computing method for many point activities in the not-too-distant future, such as e-mail, online shopping, gaming, and even video entertainment. For smartphone that contains sensitive information and access the Internet, security is a major issue. In the 1980s, security issues were hardly noticed; however, security is a major issue for users today, which includes smart phones. Because security is much more difficult to address once deployment and implementation are underway, it should be considered from the beginning. Recently our government recognized the importance of smartphone security and published several safety tips for using the smartphone. However, theses tips are user-oriented measures. Maintaining the security of a smartphone involves the active participation of the user. Although it is a important users understand and take full advantage of the facilities afforded by smarphone, it is more important developers distribute the secure smartphone application through the market. In this paper we describe some scenarios in which user is invaded his/her privacy by smartphone stolen, lost, misplaced or infected with virus. Then we suggest the security considerations for securing smartphone applications in respect with developers. We also suggest the methods applying domestic encryption algorithms such as SEED, HIGHT and ARIA in developing secure applications. This suggested security considerations may be used by developers as well as users (especially organizations) interested in enhancing security to related security incidents for current and future use of smartphones.

In particular the advantages of the widget can be implemented to meet the needs of the users, because users to more efficiently and meet their desired widget. In this paper, propose Smart-TV-based Baby management widget.

An Implementation of the path-finding algorithm for TurtleBot 2 based on low-cost embedded hardware

  • Nowadays, as the availability of tiny, low-cost microcomputer increases at a high level, mobile robots are experiencing remarkable enhancements in hardware design, software performance, and connectivity advancements. In order to control Turtlebot 2, several algorithms have been developed using the Robot Operating System(ROS). However, ROS requires to be run on a high-cost computer which increases the hardware cost and the power consumption to the robot. Therefore, design an algorithm based on low-cost hardware is the most innovative way to reduce the unnecessary costs of the hardware, to increase the performance, and to decrease the power consumed by the computer on the robot. In this paper, we present a path-finding algorithm for TurtleBot 2 based on low-cost hardware. We implemented the algorithm using Raspberry pi, Windows 10 IoT core, and RPLIDAR A2. Firstly, we used Raspberry pi as the alternative to the computer employed to handle ROS and to control the robot. Raspberry pi has the advantages of reducing the hardware cost and the energy consumed by the computer on the robot. Secondly, using RPLIDAR A2 and Windows 10 IoT core which is running on Raspberry pi, we implemented the path-finding algorithm which allows TurtleBot 2 to navigate from the starting point to the destination using the map of the area. In addition, we used C# and Universal Windows Platform to implement the proposed algorithm.

  • The public and civilian demands regarding 3D geo-spatial information processing on mobile device including smartphone are increasing. But there are few actual implementations or application cases. This work is to present some results by a prototype implementation of 3D terrain information visualization function with satellite image and DEM using HTML5 WebGL, which is a web-based graphic library under the standardization process. This is a useful standard for cross-platform operation for 3D graphic rendering without other plug-in modules. As the results, in the different types of operating system or browser in a personal computer or a smartphone, it shows same rendering results, as long as they support HTML5 WebGL. As well;geo-metadata search and identification functions for data sets for 3D terrain visualization process are added in this implementation for the practical aspect.

  • The visual motivation between AP devices is NTP-based visual motivation through the access of the Internet through the internal wired LAN, but this has several seconds of visual difference in hundreds of milliseconds (msec) depending on the network. The frame for the output of the video will vary depending on the application, but usually 24 (image) frames are output to the screen in one second. Therefore, the visual synchronization between peripheral devices can be performed through the adjacent moving camera device, not the wired method. The programming method of generating API for synchronization command when creating an application for visual synchronization and delivering it to AP through MAC may differ from the time in synchronization command according to the environment of the operating system at the transmission side and the situation of the buffer queue of the MAC. Therefore, as a method to solve this problem, the renewal of visual information in the device driver terminal controlling MAC can be much more effective.

  • The digital mobile communication will be developed till getting multimedia service in anyone, any where, any time. Theses requiring items are going to be come true via IMT-2000 system. Transmitting signal bandwidth of IMT-2000 system is 3 times as large as IS-95 system. That is mean peak to average of signal is higher than IS-95A system. So we have to design it carefully not to effect in adjacent channel. HPA(High Power Amplifier) located in the end point of system is operated in 1-㏈ compression point(Pl㏈), then it generates 3rd and 5th inter modulation signals. Theses signals affect at adjacent channel and RF signal is distorted by compressed signal which is operated near by Pl㏈ point. Then the most important design factor is how we make HPA having high linearity. Feedback, Pre-distorter and Feed-forward methods are presented to solve theses problems. Feed-forward of these methods is having excellent improving capacity, but composed with complex structure. Generally, Linearity and Efficiency in power amplifier operate in the contrary, then it is difficult for us to find optimal operating point. In this paper we applied algorithm which searches optimal point of linear characteristics, which is key in Power Amplifier, using minimum current point of error amplifier in 1st loop. And we made 2nd loop compose with new structure. We confirmed fabricated LPA is operated by having high linearity and minimum current condition with ACPR of -26 ㏈m max. @ 30㎑ BW in 3.515㎒ and ACLR of 48 ㏈c max@${\pm}$㎒ from 1W to 40W.

Development of PDA-Based Software for Forest Geographic Information (PDA기반의 산림지리정보 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study was done to develop PDA based application system for forest geographic information with GPS. The major results obtained in this study were as follows. A PDA based application program was developed to work on $Microsoft^{TM}$ PocketPC 2002 and 2003 operating system. The screen of PDA displays a 1:25,000 digital topographical map adopted DXF format converted from PC, and the map data with 1:2,500 to 1:30,000 on PDA can be zoomed in or out to five levels. Current position and navigating path received from GPS can be displayed on the screen and be saved in PDA. Information selected among layers of digital topographic map in DXF format can be converted into binary files which can be used on forest geographic information software. This can compress DXF files to 90% in size, and the processing speed of PDA was improved. The forest geographic information management system can be used to manage sample plots on which forest inventory is done, with the help of the sub-menus and grid index values with position information received from GPS. Forest workers can in quire forest geographic information such as forest type, location, forest roads, soil erosion control dams using forest geographic information management system in the field. The forest geographic information management system can provide current position and mobile path information to people who enjoy forest related activities like mountain-climbing, sightseeing, and visiting to historic spots.

Study on the energy-saving constant temperature and humidity machine operating characteristics (에너지 절감형 항온항습기 운전 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The heat recovery system that was applied in this study, is the energy-saving type that can produce the maximum cooling capacity less power in use. In order to have a more precise control function the temperature and humidity of the constant temperature and humidity machine, control algorithm is applied to designed a fuzzy PID controller, and the outside air compensation device (air-cooled) demonstrated excellent ability to dehumidify the moisture, $-20^{\circ}C$ in winter. High efficiency and the low-noise type sirocco fan operate quitely and designed to fit the bottom-up and top-down in accordance with the characteristics of equipment. as a result of experiment data, the conversion efficiency is 95% or more, power recovery time is within 5sec, stop delay time is within 30sec, pump down time is 10sec, pump delay time is 5sec, heating delay time is 5sec, temperature deviation is ${\pm}2^{\circ}C$ (cooling deviation: $2^{\circ}C$, Heating deviation : $2^{\circ}C$), humidity deviation is a ${\pm}5%$ (humidification deviation 3.0%, dehumidification deviation 3.0%). Recently, ubiquitous technology is important. so, the constant temperature and humidity machine designed to be able to remotely control to via the mobile phone, and more scalable to support MMI software and automatic interface. Further, the life of the parts and equipment is extended by the failure.

  • In this paper, a smart home service robot McBot II is newly developed in much more practical and intelligent system than McBot I which we had developed a few years ago. Thus far, vacuum-cleaners have lightened the burden of household chores but the operational labor that vacuum-cleaners entail has been very severe. Recently, a cleaning robot was commercialized to solve but it also was not successful because it still had the problem of mess-cleanup, which pertained to the clean-up of large trash and the arrangement of newspapers, clothes, etc. Hence, we develop a new home mess-cleanup robot McBot II to completely overcome this problem on real environments. The mechanical design and the basic control of McBot II, which performs mess-cleanup function etc. in house, is actually focused in this paper. McBot II is mechanically modeled in the same method that the human works in door by using the waist and the hands. The big-ranged vertical lift and the shoulder joints to be able to forward move are mechanically designed for the operating function as the human's waist when the robot works. The mobility of McBot II is designed in the holonomic mobile robot for the collision avoidance of obstacle and the high speed navigation on the small area in door. Finally, good performance of McBot II, which has been optimally desinged, is confirmed through the experimental results for the control of the robotic body, mobility, arms and hands in this paper.

A Study on the SAR Measurement System Validation at 150 MHz Band (150 MHz 대역에서의 SAR 측정시스템의 유효성 연구)

  • SAR measurement which was applied only to the mobile phone has been expanded in the Korean radio regulation law to the portable wireless communication equipments within 20 cm from the human body since Jan. 2012. The two-way radio operating at 150 MHz frequency band was newly included following the revised radio regulation in the target equipment of measurement. SAR measurement system at 150 MHz satisfying this regulation is necessary accordingly for SAR conformity assessment. The international SAR measurement standard(IEC 62209-2) includes the evaluation method on frequencies above 300 MHz, and the commercial SAR measurement system can measure SAR above 300 MHz only. The size of the reference dipole antenna(760 mm, return loss: -27.57 dB) and flat phantom ($1,300 mm(L){\times}900 mm(W){\times}200 mm(H)$), targeted SAR values for numerical analysis(1 g: 1.08 W/kg, 10 g: 0.77 W/kg) for SAR validation evaluation at 150 MHz frequency are proposed in this paper. The suggested dipole antenna and flat phantom are assembled and used to verify the conformity assessment of commercial SAR measurement system. The measured SAR values of 1 g and 10 g were obtained respectively to be 1.13 W/kg, 0.81 W/kg, and they satisfied the effective range(within ${\pm}10$ %) of IEC international standard. The standards based on this study are expected to be used for the domestic SAR measurement standard and IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) international standard.
