  • Performance requirements of a system are usually closely related to the quality of service provided by the system. The call success rate of a mobile communication system is, for example, directly linked with the quality of call service. Therefore, meeting the performance requirements is one of the critical issues during the operation of services as well as in system development. In this paper, we present a testing method for evaluating the call success rate of a mobile communication system by using interval estimation. Also we analyze the criterion used in the evaluation of the quality of 3G mobile communication services which was recently performed by Korea Communications Commission and then discuss the problems.

  • Recently the diffusion of the advancement of mobile communication technique and mobile terminal increased, The users were demanded seamless services when carrying and moving. It proposed the FMIPv6(Fast Handoff for Mobile IPv6) from the IETF like this meeting this requirement. The handover procedure of the FMIPv6 causes to defecate with movement detection, new CoA configuration and binding update. But, the delay occurs from each process, when the DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) of the CoA executing, the big delay occurs. This paper proposes a scheme of delay reduction, it omits DAD process and stores in the AR(Access Router) relates in the CoA of the mobile terminal information.

  • The mobile payment app market has been expanding recently. However, the usage rate of mobile payment apps is not meeting service providers' expectations due to concerns about security and privacy. This study investigated how personal predisposition and how the security signals of the payment app affect users' perceived privacy and security risks, and how these factors ultimately affect the trust of mobile payment apps. The results showed that privacy concerns increase the risk of perceived personal information leaks and reduce perceived mobile system security, while familiarity, perceived reputation, and assurance seal reduce the risk of perceived personal information leaks and increase perceived mobile system security. Finally, it revealed that the reduced risk of perceived personal information leaks and the increased security of mobile systems had a positive impact on the reliability of mobile payment apps.

  • Purposes: The aim of this study is to evaluate whether the contents of hospital reservation and reception applications(apps) are qualitatively useful in meeting the needs of medical consumers and improving hospital accessibility and convenience. Methodology: (1) identify consumer needs through social data web mining, (2) describe the status of key contents of mobile apps to improve accessibility and convenience of care, and (3) verify the quality of apps through validated tools Finding: The contents of 'mobile reservation function' and 'waiting time information provision' that can contribute to reduction of delay time of care and efficiency of desk work were supported, but the level of utilization was insufficient. The quality level of the app, including the level of consumers' needs, has shown a wide gap between the apps. Implications: The recent development of mobile apps for hospital accessibility and consumer needs has shown a wide gap in the quality of apps, including information and aesthetic. Therefore, it is necessary to develop apps based on user interface(UI), user experience(UX) based designs that can promote the usefulness and convenience of apps while monitoring needs of consumers continuously.

  • In a delegate authentication, a user can lend his/her own authentication data to the third parties to let them be authenticated instead of himself/herself. The user authentication schemes based on the memory of unique data such as password, are vulnerable to this type of attack. Biometric authentication could minimize the risk of delegate authentication since it uses the biometric data unique by each person. Group authentication scheme is used to prove that each group member belongs to the corresponding group. For applications such as an electronic voting or a mobile meeting where the number of group members is changing dynamically, a new group authentication method is needed to reflect the status of group in real time. In this paper, we propose biometric authentication based dynamic group signature scheme. The proposed scheme is composed of biometric key generation, group public key creation, group signature generation, group signature verification and member update protocols. The proposed member update protocol is secure against colluding attacks of existing members and could reflect group status in real time.

  • Despite the near ubiquity of mobile phone and internet, the 'meta research' that deals with face-to-face(FTF), mobile phone and internet together as interpersonal media is very rare in Korea. This study begin with the purpose of fair repositioning of mobile phone and internet in Korean's interpersonal communication horizon. To accomplish this purpose, We examined the effect of face-to-face communication situation on uses of mobile phone and internet as interpersonal communication media. The related raw data were collected from on-line survey process, and statistically analyzed. The result showed that persons who are more troublesome in FTF communication because of their timidness or personality problem are more restricted in human communication network via mobile phone and internet than the others who are not. And more 'addicted' in internet use and more active in trying another personality(Persona) in cyber space. And more shrunk in meeting and conversation with family members and friends after internet adoption.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a mobile web-based pregnancy health care educational program for mothers who were at an advanced maternal age (AMA) and to verify the effects of the program on pregnancy health care. Methods: This program was developed using a web-based teaching-learning system design model and composed of 10 subject areas. This research was a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest time serial design and data were collected from April 2 to May 3, 2014. To verify the effects of the program, it was used for 2 weeks with 30 AMA mothers (experimental group). For the control group, a classroom education booklet for pregnant women used with 31 AMA mothers. Results: The experimental group having participated in program had statistically significantly higher scores for knowledge (t=3.76, p <.001), self-efficacy (t=8.54, p <.001), and practice behavior (t=4.88, p <.001) of pregnancy health care, compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results of the program indicate that a Mobile web-based pregnancy health care educational program is effective in meeting the needs of AMA mothers and can be used as the prenatal educational program for AMA mothers and is appropriate as an educational media for theses mothers.

  • Participatory budgeting has been introduced and proliferated with differentiated types by Local Finance Act which had been revised in 2011. This study aims to classify the types of Participatory Budgeting by participatory institutions and participatory levels and suggest the implications. We have reviewed the participatory budgeting operation ordinances, operating plans and operating systems of 243 local governments. And the participatory budgeting can be divided into five types. First, submission of opinion type found in 100 local governments is characterized by operating without participatory institutions. Second, commission type found in 85 local governments is characterized by having only participatory budgeting committee. Third, regional meeting type found in 21 local governments is characterized by having participatory budgeting committee and regional meeting or only regional committee. Fourth, public-private partnership type found in 30 local governments is characterized by having citizen-government meeting. Fifth, delegated power type found in 7 local governments is characterized by having policy fair or mobile voting, or both. Analysis showed that institutionalization levels of participatory budgeting is not high because many local governments(76.5%) are belong to submission of opinion type or commission type in South Korea. For developing participatory budgeting, participatory institutions, such as citizen-government meetings, policy fair or mobile voting, should be adopted and proliferated in more and more local governments.
