  • VoIP technology for transmitting voice over IP network such as packet-based network has a lot of benefits by integrating services and reducing costs. The network is different from PSTN-based communications in some aspect such as transmitting not only voice but also text, image, multimedia data. In addition, portable terminals like a mobile phone, and ubiquitous communicator can easily access the internet for VoIP. Therefore, To prevent illegal users, offering certificate services is necessary, This study proposes a solution of user certification for a VoIP environment.

  • This paper aims to implement RAN(Radio Access Network) transmission system that can reduce the transmission cost by installing between mobile base station and base station controller. This system can reduce the number of transmission links by sharing the transmission link that the mobile communication stations of various generation use separately. This also can classify the traffics non-sensitive to delay time, and then transfer them through Ethernet/IP network.

  • Mobile multimedia services such as TV-call or video streaming are gradually becoming popular in the 3rd or more generation mobile network (IMT-2000). Multimedia traffic is expected to continue increasing into the coming years, and IP technology is considered to be the efficient way of transporting such huge volumes of multimedia traffic. IP-based IMT network platform represents an evolution from IMT-2000. The structure of IP-based IMT network as ubiquitous platform is three-layered model : Middleware including Network Control PlatForm (NCPF) and Service Support PlatForm (SSPF), IP-BackBone (IP-BB), access network including sensor network. Mobility Management (MM) architecture in NCPF is proposed for IP-based IMT network in order to manage routing information and location information separately. The generous existing method of multicast control in IP-based IMT network is Remote Subscription. But Remote Subscription has problem that should be reconstructed whole multicast tree when sender in multicast tree moves to another area. To solve this problem, we propose the way to put Multicast-manager in NCPF.

  • The multicasting telecommunication is an important research as an applicable technique in the development of adaptable technique for modern mobile computing and mobile IP, because that is supposed to be a solution for transferring the large-size information on the mobile and wireless network with the narrow bandwidth. This paper will suggest one solution for the bidirectional tunneling and the local re-registration problems to support transferring mobile multicasting datagram by the partitioned network. The bidirectional tunneling technique is in use for mobile host moving around in a region and the local re-registration technique for crossing regions to reduce traffic load caused by transferring datagram along a long distance, and we compare those models with our suggested model by simulation.

  • Mobile IPv6(MIPv6) allows a Mobile Node to talk directly to its peers while retaining the ability to move around and change the currently used IP address. One of the major issues regarding the basic Mobile IPv6 protocol is related to the handover management of a mobile node. This paper proposes efficient approach for adaptation of MIPv6 sing context information in roaming environments. To investigate on a efficient and secure handover procedure, proposed approach method will give us the following advantages: (l)the intention of context is to reduce latency, packet losses and avoid re-initiation of signaling to and from mobile nodes,(2) FMIPv6 aims to reduce handover latency due to IP protocol operations as small as possible in comparison to the inevitable link switching latency.

  • This paper proposes a Multicast Tree Extension (MTE) scheme for multicast in IP-based wireless networks. If a group receiver Joins a multicast group in a visited foreign network, multicast service may be disrupted when the foreign network does not have a multicast router. To avoid disruption, our scheme creates a bi-directional tunnel between the previous foreign agent (FA) and new foreign agent, if a mobile node (MN) moves from a foreign network with multicast capability to another foreign network with non-multicast capability. The MN thus continues to receive the multicast packets through the tunnel from the previous FA. Our scheme can avoid a long latency due to a long tunneling for group membership as well as multicast service disruption, even if the MN enters foreign networks with non-multicast capability. Simulation results show that our scheme offers lower costs for multicast delivery, tunneling and handoff latency than the existing scheme.

  • We propose a location management with adaptive binding idle lifetime scheme for IP-based wireless network. In our proposed scheme, the binding idle lifetime value is adaptively varied according to user characteristics. The main idea is that the mobile node (MN) does location update (LU) even in idle state. Furthermore a sequential paging scheme is used to reduce the paging cost. The proposed scheme can be used in both cellular network and IP-based network.

  • To cope with the Internet host mobility in a cellular network environment, we propose an adaptive mobility management scheme that can compensate drawbacks of Mobile IP. We also propose protocol that supports the proposed scheme. Our proposed scheme determines foreign agent care-of addresses adaptively according to user mobility. Consequently, it is different from other proposals for micro mobility, which statically assign the gateway in the domain as a foreign agent. Using such a scheme, it is possible to effectively meet the users demands for different service qualities in the various environments considered in the cellular network and to reduce signaling overhead due to frequent handovers occurred in Mobile IP. The performance of the proposed scheme is examined by simulation. The results of simulation show that the proposed scheme can provide relatively stable points of attachment to the mobile node.

  • IP mobility can be handled in different layers of the protocol. Mobile IP has been proposed to handle the mobility of Internet hosts in the network layer. Recently, a new method based on the SIGMA mobility architecture has been proposed to support mobility management with reduced packet loss and latency. The location management structure is not suitable for frequent mobile handover due to the high mobility of the user with this transport layer solution. In this paper, we propose a location management optimization method in a mobile communication network by applying hierarchical location management using MMPs(Mobility Management Points) for transport layer mobility management. Therefore, we propose an efficient hierarchical mobility management structure even between heterogeneous wireless networks using MMPs for the probability that a mobile terminal can change multiple location areas between two messages and calls. The proposed method shows reduction in location update cost and data retrieval cost using MMPs, and as opposed to mobility appearing in time intervals with the minimum cost required to reach 90% of the stabilized cost, the mobility location update search, location It was found that the message processing cost per area was reduced.

  • We present a new MDA-based Mobile-IPv6 multicast routing algorithm for wirelese service operators to offer Mobile-IP over IMT-2000 service under IMT-2000 network by taking advantage of the existing infrastructure for IMT-2000 multimedia application services. The extended IMT-2000 system architectures use an PDSNs (i.e. IWFs), and the home network (i.e. Internet) backbone and intermediate network are composed of ATM entities. A key feature of the new protocol is the use of MDA(Multicast Delivery Agent) to reduce delivery path length of the multicast datagram. We show that proposed protocol is efficient in terms of various performance measures such as multicast traffic load, multicast related handoff, and average routing length when we implement it using the Mobile-IPv6. Particularly, the number of tunneling and average routing length of datagram are reduced relatively, the multicast traffic load is also decreased.
