A DRM System for Streaming Services in Mobile Environment (모바일환경에서의 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 DRM 시스템에 대한 연구)

  • This study proposes a DRM system for VOD streaming services in a mobile environment. The proposed system consists of DRM client manager (Consumer), in which core components for client services are independently constructed to be used in a mobile environment, and DRM server, which provides DRM services. Consumer independently exists in the client to maximize efficiency and processing capacity in such a mobile environment, and consists of license service, content service, access service, and tracking service. DRM server consists of streaming server for VOD streaming, distributor, license server, and provider. The proposed system has an architecture suitable for a mobile environment that is difficult to process in the existing DRM system and can solves the super-distribution using license manager in client manager.

  • There is a need for content providers and operators to control the usage of downloaded digital contents. Digital Rights Management(DRM) is the means to control the usage of the digital contents once it has been downloaded. Therefore, appropriate security mechanism is required. The mobile DRM system Is same as the general DRM system. We use encryption technology to package digital contents. In case of Mobile DRM system, secure distribution and secure keeping of packaging encryption key is important. In this paper, we design and implement DRM system on the Mobile Environments following on OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DRM Model. We considered being a secure DRM system to contain appropriate security solution.

  • As wireless Internet speads widely, circulation of various types of digital contents become active. Therefore, it is necesary to make a mobile-based DRM (Digatal Rights Management) system to protect digital contents from illegal reproduction and to give proper rights to contents users, In this paper, we present a mibile security system, which protects the copyright for digital contents offered throughout the mobile environment. Our security system is focused on presenting mobile-based DRM architecture. Especially, considering mobile device's decrying power, we adopted partial encryption scheme. For this, wecompared and evaluated the performant of each contents encryption scheme (the entire encryption scheme and the partial encription scheme) and proved that a proper DRM system for current wireless devices is the partial encryption system. Our mobile DRM system can be very efficient to protect contents on the wireless Internet environment.

  • Short message service (SMS) is a Popular mobile data service in cellular networks. One SMS message can carry 50 Korean alphabets. Cellular operators standard and develop multimedia message service (MMS) based on P2P as color phones having multimedia solutions such as MIDI, MP3, JPG, PNG, and MPEG have been developed. MMS can be a key cash flow in the non-voice mobile revenue together with SMS. Copyrights protection of contents in a MMS message can be issued as MMS can be the popular P2P service such as MMS. In this paper, we propose MMS DRM system to protect copyrights of contents in MMS with the minimum change of MMS system. The proposed MMS DRM system protect copyrights of contents using DRM Packager, DRM Server, and DRM Agent and support various use cases to activates MMS in mobile networks.

  • Due to the rapid progress in network technology, many research on content security technologies is also being conducted in the mobile digital content sector. In the meantime, content protection has been immersed in preventing illegal copying, certifying, and issuance/management certificates, but still have many vulnerabilities in managing or authenticating confidential information. This study aims to strengthen confidential information about content based on dual management of content download rights through mobile phone numbers or device numbers. It also protect replay-attack by building a secure mobile DRM system where digital content is safely distributed based on a three-stage user authentication process. In addition, blockchain-based content security enhancements were studied during the primary/secondary process for user authentication for the prevention of piracy and copyright protection. In addition, the client authentication process was further improved through three final stages of authorization in the use of illegal content, considering that legitimate users redistributed their content to third-party.

  • As widespread of using digital documents in various fields, control the usage of digital document is needed. So, Digital Rights Management(DRM) will become a key component of digital document system, but absence of proper digital document DRM system, there is a real risk to lose important information when a hacker achieved intrusion in important system. This paper designs and implements digital document DRM system based on OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DRM model and OpenOffice. We considered being a digital document DRM system to contain appropriate solution of security and document compatibility.

  • 인터넷의 발전과 멀티미디어 인프라의 성장으로 방대한 양과, 다양한 종류의 디지털 데이터들이 제작, 유통되고 있다. 디지털 컨텐츠는 기존 아날로그 컨텐츠와 비교 생성, 가공, 유통, 분배등의 측면에서 많은 장점을 갖는 반면, 원본과 동일한 복사물을 쉽게 생성할 수 있는 특징 때문에 디지털 창작물에 대한 저작권 보호가 중요시된다. 본 논문은 이미 유선 환경에서 디지털 컨텐츠 보호 기술로 각광 받고 있는 DRM(Digital Rights Management)을 토대로 무선 환경에서 디지털 컨텐츠의 보안을 위한 Mobile DRM (MDRM) 에 대한 설계를 목적으로 한다 설계되어진 MDRM은 Mobile 환경을 고려 키 교환 및 컨텐츠 암/복호 시 발생하는 부하를 줄이고 컨텐츠의 불법적인 유포 방지를 위한 SDMS(Secret-Key Distributed Management System : 비밀키 분산 관리 시스템)기술을 이용한다.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a multi-mode mobile broadcasting Emergency Warning System (EWS) transmission and reception system which enables the propagation of disaster information using the encoding and transmission, reception and decoding methods specified in diverse mobile broadcasting standards. The implemented system supports global mobile broadcasting standards such as Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB), Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H), Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T), and the Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) digital radio standard. The system consists of two key part: an encoding/transmission part and a reception/decoding part. The multi-mode mobile broadcasting EWS encoding and transmission system generates EWS data according to each broadcasting specification. The generated EWS data is then transmitted through a channel interface which meets the commercial broadcasting equipment specification. The receiver system receives and decodes the EWS data on a single hardware platform and can display the results on screen. Verification and conformity testing has been carried out on the implemented system by transmitting emergency data for each mode in real-time and displaying the received information in text on the receiver display.

An Efficient Scheme for Protecting Mobile Music on Mobile Devices

  • An efficient encoding algorithm (or encryption algorithm) is essential for mobile devices since their resources such as computation power and battery capacity are very limited. This study is to propose an efficient encoding scheme for protecting mobile music. In the proposed scheme, server distributes each music file in a shuffled form or an encrypted one, then only authorized consumers can play the music after un-shuffling or decrypting it. We show the effectiveness of our proposed scheme by implementing and evaluating the prototype system on WIPI emulator. Experimental results show that our scheme can achieve much better performance than the standard encryption algorithm of OMA DRM.
