A Study on the Construction of the Communication Based Control System for PRT Vehicles (통신기반 PRT 차량제어시스템의 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This study is concerned with the design of the communication based evaluation simulator for the development of the operational control algorithm for PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) system which has very short headway and requires accurate speed control of the vehicles to avoid the impact between the vehicles. The evaluation simulator is composed of central control system, vehicle control system, communication control system, AP for wireless communication, and monitoring system. For the mobile characteristics of the PRT vehicles wireless communication is employed for the transmission of the control and status information between the central control system and the vehicle control system. By using simple test operational control algorithm the effectiveness of the proposed evaluation simulator is shown.

Robust architecture search using network adaptation

  • Experts have designed popular and successful model architectures, which, however, were not the optimal option for different scenarios. Despite the remarkable performances achieved by deep neural networks, manually designed networks for classification tasks are the backbone of object detection. One major challenge is the ImageNet pre-training of the search space representation; moreover, the searched network incurs huge computational cost. Therefore, to overcome the obstacle of the pre-training process, we introduce a network adaptation technique using a pre-trained backbone model tested on ImageNet. The adaptation method can efficiently adapt the manually designed network on ImageNet to the new object-detection task. Neural architecture search (NAS) is adopted to adapt the architecture of the network. The adaptation is conducted on the MobileNetV2 network. The proposed NAS is tested using SSDLite detector. The results demonstrate increased performance compared to existing network architecture in terms of search cost, total number of adder arithmetics (Madds), and mean Average Precision(mAP). The total computational cost of the proposed NAS is much less than that of the State Of The Art (SOTA) NAS method.

Since 2008, production has been consigned to TSMC, concentrating on semiconductor design. AMD is releasing various new products through continuous R&D which is the basis for its growth. AMD stock have recorded the highest rise among global semiconductor companies as sales and operating profit soared due to the strong sales of new products.

  • 차세대 무선 통신 기술인 Wi-Fi는 이동통신사를 거치지 않고 근처의 AP(Access Point)를 통하여 여러 컨텐츠 제공서버에 접근한다. 그에 따라 사용자는 컨텐츠 제공서버로 위장한 피싱이나, 인증되지 않은 사이트를 통해 악성코드 배포, 사용자 정보유출등과 같은 취약점에 노출되고, 컨텐츠 제공 서버 또한 타인으로 위장한 위장공격등과 같은 취약점에 노출된다. 본 논문에서는 Wi-Fi 환경 내에서 사용자 단말기와 컨텐츠 제공서버간의 상호 인증 방안을 모색하고, 모바일 환경의 특성을 고려한 상호 인증 방안을 제안한다.

  • 객체 분류는 입력으로 주어진 이미지에 포함된 객체의 종류를 판단하는 기술이다. 대표적인 딥러닝 기반의 객체 분류 방법으로서 Faster R-CNN[2], YOLO[3] 등의 모델이 개발되었으나, 여전히 성능 향상의 여지가 있다. 본 연구에서는 각도 마진 손실 함수를 기존의 몇 가지 객채 분류 모델에 적용하여 성능 향상을 유도한다. 각도 마진 손실 함수는 얼굴 인식 모델인 SphereFace [4]에서 제안한 방법으로, 얼굴 인식과 같이 단일 도메인의 데이터셋을 분류하는 문제를 풀기 위해 제안되었다. 이는 기존 소프트맥스 함수에서 클래스 결정 경계선에 마진을 주는 방식으로 클래스 간의 구분 능력을 향상시킨다. 본 논문은 각도 마진 손실 함수를 CIFAR10, CIFAR100 데이터셋의 분류 문제에 적용하였으며 ResNet, EfficientNet, MobileNet 등의 백본 네트워크로 실험하여 평균적으로 mAP 성능이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

  • The outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease in 2020 caused a global semiconductor supply shortage and disruption in the production of devices such as iPhones owing to China's quarantine lockdown. Thus, Apple is diversifying its production bases from China to countries like India and Vietnam. The company is also accelerating semiconductor development to guarantee a stable supply, reduce design costs, and customize semiconductors with high quality and outstanding specifications for their products to outperform devices that use general-purpose semiconductors. Following the mobile application processor, Apple is releasing world-class semiconductors, such as the M1 and M2 chips that play the role of central processing units.

  • 본 연구는 라즈베리파이4와 같은 저전력, 저비용 임베디드 시스템에서 효과적으로 작동할 수 있는 실시간 객체 탐지 모델을 제안한다. 우리는 대중적으로 유명한 YOLO를 사용하지 않고 MobileNetV1-SSDLite를 기반으로 한 경량화된 모델을 설계하고, 이를 라즈베리파이4에 최적화하여 구현하였다. 실험 결과, 제안된 모델은 평균 5 FPS의 처리 속도로 mAP 0.68을 달성하여, 기존의 모델들과 비교했을 때 라즈베리파이4에서 더 효율적인 성능을 보여주었다. 또한, Jetson Nano와의 비교를 통해 각 플랫폼의 특성을 분석하여 라즈베리파이4에 경량화된 모델이 충분하다라는 것을 소개한다.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid rendering method which combines pre-computed global illumination results and interactive local illumination techniques and thus could interactively produce photo-realistic visual effects for mobile entertainment applications. The proposed method uses the programmable shading capability of OpenGL, a de facto standard for computer graphics library so that it can be deployed in a real-world development environment. Also, it increases the rendering time by a negligible amount compared to normal rendering time since the pre-computed results are used as operands of plain arithmetic operations. Therefore it is expected to be applicable in practice for mobiles games which require real-time responsiveness to users.

  • In recent years, there are increasing threats of rootkits that undermine the integrity of a system by manipulating OS kernel. To cope with the rootkits, in Vigilare, the snoop-based monitoring which snoops the memory traffics of the host system was proposed. Although the previous work shows its detection capability and negligible performance loss, the problem is that the proposed design is not acceptable in recent commodity mobile application processors (APs) which have become de facto the standard computing platforms of smart devices. To mend this problem and adopt the idea of snoop-based monitoring in commercial products, in this paper, we propose a snoop-based monitor design called S-Mon, which is designed for the AP platforms. In designing S-Mon, we especially consider two design constraints in the APs which were not addressed in Vigilare; the unified memory model and the crossbar switch interconnect. Taking into account those, we derive a more realistic architecture for the snoop-based monitoring and a new hardware module, called the region controller, is also proposed. In our experiments on a simulation framework modeling a productionquality device, it is shown that our S-Mon can detect the rootkit attacks while the runtime overhead is also negligible.

  • IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) adopts Power Saving Mode(PSM) to save the power. Unlike existing PSM, this paper proposes a new scheme for the power saving of the Mobile Host(MH) when a MH performs the data transmission after the competition-based DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) and competition free-based PCF(Point Coordination Function). In this paper, The proposed scheme estimates the distance between the MH with the authority of data transmission and the Access Point(AP) and then adaptively controls the power of the MH considering the distance. Through the simulation result, we find that the proposed scheme consumes the smaller transmission power and has the similar success rate of packet transmission when it is compared to the existing scheme which uses the same power without the consideration of the distance.
