전로분진의 용선탈규특성 (Use of Converter Dust as Desiliconization Agent for Molten Pig Iron)

  • 전로 분진의 재활용 방안을 모색하기 위해 용선 탈규 처리제로서의 이용가능성을 파악하였다. 분진에 의한 탈규 효과는 투여량의 증가에 따라 향상되었으며, 분진에 CaO의 첨가에 따른 탈규 양상의 변화는 거의 없는 것으로 관찰되었다. 탈규 반응은 대부분의 우에 있어 탈규제의 조성에 관계없이 반응 개시 10분 이내에 집중적으로 일어남을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 또한 전로 분진을 탈규제로 사용함에 있어 용선 내의 Si 이외의 성분들은 Mn. P, C 그리고 S등에 대해서도 분진의 조성에 따른 거동을 조사하였다. 한편, 분진 내의 CaO의 존재는 탈규제에 의한 탈망간 방지, 슬래그 거품 현상의 억제 및 탈진 공정을 위한 탈규 슬래그 제거 측면에서 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

Fabrication and PTCR Characteristics of Porous Barium Titanate Thermistors using Graphite Powders

  • New porous BaTiO$_3$ thermistors were fabricated using graphite powders (0 to 10 wt. %) and their porosities were in the range of 9.1% to 16.2%. As results of impedance analysis, it was confirmed that the pores affected the grain-boundary resistance and the bulk (grain interior) resistance was constant as about 25 $\Omega$ at room temperature. The magnitude of PTCR effect $(p_{max}/p)$ markedly increased from 3 orders to 7 orders without addition of any acceptor dopant such as Mn or Cr.

  • In this study, piezoelectric ceramics of composition 0.08Pb(Mn$\sub$1/3/Sb$\sub$2/3/)O$_3$ were manufactured by the Hot-press method and structural, piezoelectrical properties and temperature stability were investigated with addition of 0, 02, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 [wt%] Cr$_2$O$_3$. Also the SAW delayline was fabricated and the propagation characteristics of SAW were considered with SAW theories.

저온 동시 소성용 후막 NTC 서미스터의 전기적 특성에 미치는 무연계 프릿트 및 RuO2의 영향 (Effect of lead-free frit and RuO2 on the electrical properties of thick film NTC thermistors for low temperature co-firing)

  • 저온 동시 소성용 후막 NTC 서미스터를 Mn1.5Ni0.4Co0.9Cu0.4O4 조성의 NTC 분말과 lead free frit 및 RuO2를 이용하여 제조한 페이스트를 96 % 알루미나 기판 위에 인쇄와 소결을 통해 제조한 후, 이 후막 NTC의 전기적 특성에 미치는 프릿트 및 RuO2의 영향을 연구하였다. 후막 NTC 서미스터의 저항은 동일한 온도에서 소결한 벌크 상에 비해 높게 나타났으나 저항-온도 특성에서 부 저항 온도 특성은 더 명확하게 직선적으로 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 소결온도 증가에 따라 면적저항은 감소하였고 프릿트 첨가량이 많을수록 면적저항은 높게 나타났다. 후막 NTC 서미스터의 B 정수는 3000 K 이상의 값 나타냈는데 그 중 프릿트를 5 wt% 첨가한 페이스트로 만든 후막 NTC를 900℃에서 소결한 시편의 B 정수가 가장 높게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 또한, RuO2 첨가에 따라 면적저항의 감소가 나타남을 알 수 있었으며 RuO2를 5 wt% 첨가한 페이스트를 900℃에서 소결한 후막 NTC 서미스터의 면적저항 감소의 변화가 가장 뚜렷이 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

Design of Advanced Weathering Steel with High Corrosion Resistance for Structural Applications

  • Basic design concept of the future steel structure requires environmental compatibility and maintenance free capability to minimize economic burdens. Recent trends in alloy design for advanced weathering steel include addition of various alloying elements which can enhance formation of stable and protective rust layer even in polluted urban and/or high $Cl^{-}$ environment. The effects of Ca, Ni, W, and Mo addition on the corrosion property of Ca-modified weathering steel were evaluated through a series of electrochemical tests (pH measurement and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy: EIS) and structural analysis on rust layer formed on the steel surface. Ca-containing inclusions of Ca-Al-Mn-O-S compound are formed if the amount of Ca addition is over 25 ppm. Steels with higher Ca content results in higher pH value for condensed water film formed on the steel surface, however, addition of Ni, W, and Mo does not affect pH value of the thin water film. The steels containing a high amount of Ca, Ni, W and Mo showed a dense and compact rust layer with enhanced amount of ${\alpha}-FeOOH$. Addition of Ni, W and Mo in Ca-modified weathering steel shows anion-selectivity and contributes to lower the permeability of $Cl^{-}$ ions. Effect of each alloying element on the formation of protective rust layer will be discussed in detail with respect to corrosion resistance.

  • Converter slag has some compositional similarities to portland cement. But it has no hydration properties due to it's quite high concentrations of FeO(20-35%), MnO(4-6.5%). So it is needed to reduce the concentrations of iron and manganese of converter slag to use as cement additives by enhancing it's hydration properties. In this study, converter slag was modified it's composition by mixing of silica, alumina and quenched BF slag and reduced in induction furnace and quenched in running water. The hydraulic properties and structures of modified and quenched converter slag are significantly changed depend on the amount and kinds of additives. The addition of alumina up to 10% and BFQ slag up to 20% by weight on converter slag was effective to enhance the hydraulic properties of modified and quenched slag. The addition of reduced and quenched converter slag up to 20% by weight in replacement of portland cement in mixing of concrete mortar were shown higher compressive strength than 100% cement concrete mortar.

PMMA 구를 주형으로 이용한 3DOM 전극 구조체의 제조 (Fabrication of Three-dimensionally Ordered Macroporous Electrode Materials by Using PMMA Template)

  • Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) structures of the $LiCoO_2$ electrode materials for Li secondary batteries were fabricated by using the close-packed arrays of PMMA spheres served as templates. In order to successfully fabricate the cathode materials with highly ordered array form, the metal citrates were applied to new precursors. The precursor/template composites were prepared by the infiltration with metal citrate precursors into the voids of template. By removing the PMMA templates, then, the inverse opal structures with the uniform pores of narrow size distribution were resulted. It was confirmed that the 3DOM $LiCoO_2$ material is to take a single phase of rocksalt (R3m) structure. In addition, 3DOM $LiNiO_2$ and $LiMn_{2}O_4$ cathode materials were fabricated using an identical preparation procedure. Also, the morphology of the 3DOM cathode materials calcined at $500^{\circ}C\;to\;700^{\circ}C$ was observed by scanning electron microscope.

Ga-doped ZnO 투명전극을 적용한 교류무기전계발광소자 특성 연구 (Top-emission Electroluminescent Devices based on Ga-doped ZnO Electrodes)

  • We explain optical and electrical properties of top and bottom-emission structured alternating-current powder electroluminescent devices (ACPELDs) with Ga-doped ZnO(GZO) transparent electrode. The top-emission ACPELDs were layered as the metal electrode/dielectric layer/emission layer/top transparent electrode and the bottom-emission ACPELDs were structured as the bottom transparent electrode/emission layer/dielectric layer/metal electrode. The yellow-emitting ZnS:Mn, Cu phosphor and the barium titanate dielectric layers were layered through the screen printing method. The GZO transparent electrode was deposited by the sputtering, its sheet resistivity is $275{\Omega}/{\Box}$. The transparency at the yellow EL peak was 98 % for GZO. Regardless of EL structures, EL spectra of ACPELDs were exponentially increased with increasing voltages and they were linearly increased with increasing frequencies. It suggests that the EL mechanism was attributed to the impact ionization by charges injected from the interface between emitting phosphor layer and the transparent electrode. The top-emission structure obtained higher EL intensity than the bottom-structure. In addition, charge densities for sinusoidal applied voltages were measured through Sawyer-Tower method.

Voltage Enhancement of ZnO Oxide Varistors for Various Y2O3 Doping Compositions

  • The microstructure and the electrical properties of a ZnO varistor, which was composed of a ZnO-$Bi_2O_3$-$Sb_2O_3$-CoO- $MnO_2$ -NiO-$Nd_2O_3$ system, were investigated at various $Y_2O_3$ addition concentrations. $Y_2O_3$ played a role in the inhibition of the grain growth. As the $Y_2O_3$ content increased, the average grain size decreased from $6.8{\mu}m$ to $4{\mu}m$, and the varistor voltage($V_{1mA}$) greatly increased from 275 to 400 V/mm. The nonlinearity coefficient ($\alpha$) decreased from 72 to 65 with increasing $Y_2O_3$ amount. On the other hand, the leakage current ($I_L$) increased from 0.2 to 0.9 ${\mu}A$. These results confirmed that doping the varistors with $Y_2O_3$ is a promising production route for production of a higher fine-grained varistor voltage ($V_{1mA}$) which can dramatically reduce the size of the varistors.

실험계획법을 적용한 X7R 적층 칩 커패시터의 희토류(Y2O3, Er2O3) 첨가에 따른 전기적 특성 (The Electrical Properties of Mutilayer Chip Capacitor with X7R by Addition of Rare-Earth Ions (Y2O3, Er2O3) using Design of Experiments)

  • Employing statistical design of experiments, the difference in doping behaviors of rare-earth ions and their effects on the dielectric property and microstructure of $BaTiO_3$-MgO-$MnO_2$-($Ba_{0.4}Ca_{0.6}$) $SiO_3-Re_2O_3$ (Re = $Y_2O_3$, $Er_2O_3$) system were investigated. Through the statistical analysis we have found that the amount of $Re_2O_3$ are significantly affecting on the dielectric properties. The $Re_2O_3$ improved the dielectric constant, dielectric loss and R*C constant, so the appropriate contents of $Y_2O_3$ and $Er_2O_3$ were 0.8 ~ 1.2 mol% and 0.8 ~ 1.3 mol%, respectively. The MLCC(mutilayer chip capacitor) with $2.0{\times}1.2{\times}1.2mm$ size and 475 nF was also suited for X7R with the above composition. It showed that the dielectric constant and RC constant were 2,839 and 3,675 ${\Omega}F$, respectively in the sintering condition at $1250^{\circ}C$ in $Po_2$ $10^{-7}$ Mpa.
