  • Recently, concrete have been used not only for structural purpose but also for various other purposes. The goal of this research is to develop porous and pervious light-weight concrete in order to apply to filters, which primarily treats rain water. Because Porous and pervious light-weight concrete is discontinuum with large amount of porosity, its physical characteristic is completely different from that of ordinary concrete. The basic properties such as the change in porosity rate depending on mixing proportion and the mechanical characteristics of porous and pervious light-weight concrete were experimentally evaluated.

  • Lightweight foamed concrete is a concrete which is lighter than conventional concree by mixing ptetoamed foam in cement slurry. The objectives of this study are to develop optimal prefoarneti lightweight foamed concrete with high lightness. high flowability and enough strength fol special use of structural application by using the polymer foam agent. By mixing the admixtures such as silica-fume and fly-ash and the industrial by-product such as styrofoam for the purpose of practical use of industrial waste, lightweight foamed concrete shich has better lightness. flowability and strength than the conventional prefoamed lightweight foamed concrete is developed. This paper presents extensive data on characteristics of compressive strength and flowability of the concrete manufactured with the different factors in mix design and also presents optimum mix proportion.

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the combination effect of amorphous steel fiber and polypropylene fiber on spalling of the 150MPa level ultra high strength concrete. Considering spalling has a great relationship with water vapor pressure, this paper is focusing on water vapor pressure. The test specimens were heated accordance with ISO-834 Standard Curve using electric heating furnace, the depth of 10mm water vapor pressure formation was tend to get faster and spalling damage become severe when the mixing proportion of amorphous steel fiber increase. When using ultra high strength concrete reinforced with amorphous steel fiber, further research about proper mixing proportion of polypropylene fiber.

  • This study analyzed the effects of changes in mixing factors of zero-cement mortar that only used recycled fine aggregates and fly-ash on quality of mortar, and the results are as follows. To describe the property of fresh mortar, as mix proportion and flow of mortar increased, W/B was highly selected and air content decreased. To describe compressive strength according to age as the property of hardened mortar, it was revealed that the strength did not strength until the 14 day, but strength of about 1 ~ 2 MPa strength during the 14 day through 28 day, and almost similar strength after 28 day. Also, compressive strength according to changes in mix proportion, flow and B/W was generally similar. Summarizing the above experimental results, in case of mortar that used recycled fine aggregates and fly-ash, it secured the strength for the use of landfill even though not for structural use. Especially, poor mix proved to be more useful than rich mix.

  • It is very important to find out how to economically recycle waste tyres thrown away from the industry to the field. This one is also consistent with environmentally-friend policy. Many papers have been produced for focusing on the strength using waste-tyre material. Now, many kind of particle sizes of waste-tyre material are being produced in Korea, with support of the government. This study is to figure out how much the waste tyre mixing concrete resists against temperature at fire and how much decrease rate it shows. All the result are compared here in order to find out the way to applicate it to the practical structure for this area. The mixing proportion rate is selected with an experience and try-and error method. Eventually some of distinctive results are mentioned in the conclusion. The waste tyre concrete heated with $600^{\circ}C$ temperature was almost no change of its strength comparing with the normal one.

  • Grouting has been widely used to enhance the strength of the ground and prevent waterflow into the underground space in the geotechnical engineering field. Cement with bentonite can be considered a helpful grouting material because the bentonite has a swelling ability with water. Therefore, it is essential to evaluate the characteristics of grouting materials according to the mixing ratio for a successful grouting process. In this regard, the study investigated the viscosity and bleeding characteristics of grouting materials according to the mixing ratio (i.e., water/cement ratio and bentonite/cement ratio). In the experimental result, the viscosity increases with decreasing water/cement ratio and rising proportion of bentonite by weight of cement. However, the results of the bleeding ratio show the tendency is inversely proportional to the viscosity results. Bentonite was explored in terms of the viscosity and bleeding criterion. This result is expected to be meaningful to determine the optimized mixing ratio of bentonite-cement in the grouting field.

  • In this research, we used fly-ash and blast-furnace slag as substitute material of cement and fine aggregate, and we, through experiments, researched and analyzed the features of high-flowable concrete added high efficiency AE water reduction agent. The results are below. 1. Liquefaction generally presented high-slump flow value; on the other hand, partial segregation was observed in case of mixing proportion with 65 cm slump flow and above. This segregation was partially improved in accordance with mixing admixture. 2. Compressive strength according to mixing admixture and increasing mixing ratio of fly-ash were subject to be declined when it was initially cast-in, but its gap was improved when time was fully passed. 3. After mixing blast-furnace slag and fly-ash as substitute material, the result showed that the modulus of elasticity against freezing & melting was improved according to mixing blast-furnace slag and also increased in accordance with increasing pulverulent-body volume. 4. According to increasing the mixing volume of fly-ash, the durability factor was deteriorated because compressive strength became lower as well as air content was decreased when it was initially case-in. 5. The minimum air content to secure durability was 3.7%, for that reason, we had better secure admixture such as air entraining agent when cast-in high-flowable concrete.

  • Permeable polymer concrete can be applied to roads, sidewalks, river embankment, drain pipes, conduits, retaining walls, yards, parking lots, plazas, interlocking blocks, etc.. This study was to explore a possibility of using stone dust and heavy calcium carbonate as fillers for the permeable polymer concrete. Different mixing pro-portions were tried to find an optimum mixing proportion of the permeable polymer concrete. The tests were carried out at 20 f 1 t and 60 ${\pm}$ 2% relative humidity. At 7 days of curing, compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strengths and water permeability ranged between 209~246kgf/cm$^2$, 101 ~ l2lkgf/cm$^2$, 36~52kgf/cm$^2$ and 3.076 ~ 4.390L/cm$^3\;^2$/hr, respectively. It was concluded that the stone dust and heavy calcium carbonate could be used in the permeable polymer concrete.

  • The purpose of this experimental research is to produce the super-workable concrete using ordinary portland cement, blast-furnace slag lowder, and fly ash respectively, and investigate mechanical properties of super-workable concrete. For this purpose, after production of super-workable concrete for different unit weights of binder and percentages of fine aggregate, optimum mixing proportion of them was determined, and then mechanical properties of super-workable concrete such as static modulud of elasticity as well as compressive, tensile and flexural strength were tested and analyzed. Also, the mechanical performances of super-workable concrete were compared with those of high-strength concrete has an excellent mobility, compactability and segregation-resistance, but the strength of super-workable concrete is somewhat lower than that of high-strength concrete with equal mixing proportions of concrete.

  • Execution of exposed concrete has some problems such as segregation, surface honey comb and insufficient surface flossing due to unsuitable mix proportion and unfavorable construction in our field. Therefore, in this paper, field application of exposed concrete at training center building of Chongju university in Daecheon are carried out based on the mixing data obtained from laboratory test. Base concrete are made in accordance with mixing data. Segregation reducing type superplasticizer developed are applied in order to flow the vase concrete with out segregation of materials. According to test results, air content shows to be reduced after flowing. Compressive strength of flowing concrete is higher than that of base concrete about 7%. Surface glossing is reducing as the age goes on. It is improved about 10% compared to that of vase concrete.
