Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the applicability of a flipped learning course in Women's Health Nursing for nursing students. Methods: A total of 200 senior nursing students participated in flipped learning class of pregnancy, delivery and postpartum area, which included team-based learning and self-reflection for 8 weeks. One group pre-post test design was adopted and the changes in learning motivation and satisfaction were examined. In addition, reflective journals of the students were analyzed by making a qualitative content analysis. Results: Students showed a significant increase in score of learning motivation in the posttest (t=-4.47, p<.001). They had a mean of 3.90 in learning satisfaction out of possible five points. As a result of content analysis, three themes were selected: 'Improved attitude toward active learning', 'Burden caused by excessive workload', and 'Valuing to the team-based activity' To be specific, six sub-themes were selected, with three positive and three negative categories: 'improved class attention and understanding', 'positive class participation by preparing lessons in advance', 'peer interactions through discussion', 'A lot of time and effort consuming', 'stress caused by the burden of preparing lessons', and 'difficulties in cooperative activities'. Conclusion: This study supports and confirms that the flipped learning can be a creative instructional model of positive teaching-learning strategy in clinical nursing courses to enhance students' learning motivation.
This study investigates to identify the impact factors of timber production cost on the relationship between production cost components and revenues generated by evaluating the entire timber supply chain. In this research, selected 13 logging zones as target areas and classified 14 forest production cost factors, six groups. Additionally, established 13 externalenvironmental factors with related stakeholders and forestry experts. And the BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio) method was then used to analyze the economics of each zone. Filled up a checklist and rated using 5 point scale for each target region, and extracted major cost factors for the production economy of the item. The analysis of major cost factors in the timber production revealed that wood grab equipment usage fee was the first ranked and forest trees purchase cost was ranked in the $2^{nd}$Also, the $3^{rd}$ranking was logging expenses, and transport cost, which accounted for 84% of the total cost, was ranked in the $4^{th}$. In addition, the rock land ratio, slope, timber payment (forest trees purchase cost), special timber, ratio of timber, DBH (Diameter at Breast Height), and mixed forest ratio were the factors that most affected the timber supply chain cost.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of gamma - irradiation on the effluent from food distribution in the large agricultural and marine products market. This study will contribute to the distribution process as well as the agricultural and fishery distribution facilities. Research design, data, and methodology - In order to reduce the odor, the smell was examined in the anaerobic digestion process by irradiating gamma rays to the wastewater of mixed food discharged from a large restaurant. An odor determination panel list was constructed to determine if the odor was present in the air dilution drainage and the odor concentration was analyzed by instrumental analysis. Results - It was confirmed that the sulfur content increased gradually from 3 months. Ammonia decreased from 33.57ppm at the initial measurement to 4.12 ppm at the end of the experiment. Methane production was highest at 100kGy when exposed to gamma rays of 0-200kGy at pH 12. In other words, it is considered that gamma irradiation doses are most effective at 100kGy and are suitable for large capacity wastewater treatment facilities in terms of economic feasibility. Conclusions - In pre-treatment of compound food wastewater, gamma irradiation is most cost effective when examined at 100kGy. The economic efficiency of the pre-treatment method by gamma irradiation is much higher than the wastewater treatment in the large-scale agricultural and marine products distribution market.

This research was performed to investigate the mechanical performance of lightweight concrete including phase changing material(Low temperature PCM). Micro capsulised PCM consisted of wax type core and melamine based wall. Also, for PCM of one single kind, paraffin wax was inserted into Vermiculite and the surface was coated with melamine resin. Interfacial polymerization is based on the principle that macromolecule reaction takes place on the surfaces between 1-dodecanol(core material) and water (solvent) to form the wall material. Lightweight concrete has compressive strength of 10 MPa, tensile strength of 1.5 MPa, and oven dried density of 1.0kg/liter which included 10%, 20%, or 30% PCM by weight. To do so, this study fabricated light-weight foamed concrete ($1.0kg/m^3$) in pre-foaming method and mixed it with PCM micro capsule of 1-dodecanol and melamine to examine its physical properties.
Purpose Cyber deviance of adolescents has become a serious social problem. With a widespread use of smartphones, incidents of cyber deviance have increased in Korea and both quantitative and qualitative damages such as suicide and depression are increasing. Research has been conducted to understand diverse factors that explain adolescents' delinquency in cyber space. However, most previous studies have focused on a single theory or perspective. Therefore, this study aims to comprehensively analyze motivations of juvenile cyber deviance and to develop a predictive model for delinquent adolescents by integrating four different theories on cyber deviance. Design/methodology/approach By using data from Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey 2010, this study extracts 27 potential factors for cyber deivance based on four background theories including general strain, social learning, social bonding, and routine activity theories. Then this study employs econometric analysis to empirically assess the impact of potential factors and utilizes a machine learning approach to predict the likelihood of cyber deviance by adolescents. Findings This study found that general strain factors as well as social learning factors have positive effects on cyber deviance. Routine activity-related factors such as real-life delinquent behaviors and online activities also positively influence the likelihood of cyber diviance. On the other hand, social bonding factors such as community commitment and attachment to community lessen the likelihood of cyber deviance while social factors related to school activities are found to have positive impacts on cyber deviance. This study also found a predictive model using a deep learning algorithm indicates the highest prediction performance. This study contributes to the prevention of cyber deviance of teenagers in practice by understanding motivations for adolescents' delinquency and predicting potential cyber deviants.
Purpose: To assess the feasibility, safety, and preliminary estimates of effectiveness of Tai Chi on the functional outcomes of older adults in the community. Methods: This was a mixed-method study that employed a single-group repeated measure design and in-depth interviews. Nine older adults were recruited from the community were recruited to participate in a Tai Chi program, conducted twice weekly for 6 months. Research outcomes included physical function, cognitive function, and quality of life, measured at intervals of 3 and 6 months. Findings: Tai Chi exercises were gradually conducted based on the health status of the older adults. All participants actively participated in the program with an average attendance of 90%. Consequently, the participants showed significant improvements in mobility and their memory recall ability at both 3 and 6 months. Additionally, the results of the Stroop test exhibited improvement 3 months after the commencement of the study program. Quality of life of the participants improved according to the mild cognitive impairment questionnaire, but it did not show significant improvement in health-related quality of life. Conclusion: The Tai Chi exercise program was a safe and, feasible program to improve the physical function, cognitive function, quality of life among the older adults in the community.
Currently, a grouting method that minimizes damage to the reservoir embankment by injecting solidification agent at low pressure is commonly used to ensure waterproofing and safety of the embankment, but the use of solidification agents can cause issues, such as a decrease in durability and a lack of clear method for determining the mixing ratio. In this study, when the base ground and solidification agent were stirred and mixed at various weight mixing ratios, the permeability coefficient and strength of the mixture were confirmed through laboratory tests, and the optimal mixing ratio was suggested through analysis of the test results. The specimen for the laboratory test was produced considering the mixing ratio of the solidification agent. The specimen for the permeability coefficient test was tested by producing one each of cohesionless and cohesive soil for a mixing amount of 1.5 kN/m3 of solidification agent, and the permeability test results confirmed that the water barrier performance was secured below the permeability coefficient value required by various design criteria. A total of 24 specimens for the strength test were produced, 3 for each of 5 mixing amounts for cohesive soil and 3 mixing amounts for cohesionless soil. The strength test results showed that the uniaxial compressive strength tends to increase linearly with increasing curing time for both cohesionless soil and cohesive soil when the mixing amount is less than 2.0 kN/m3. Therefore, the optimal mixing ratio applied to the site is determined to be mixing amount of 1.5 kN/m3 and 2.0 kN/m3. Finally, numerical analysis reflecting test results was conducted on design case for improvement projects for aging reservoirs embankment to verify the water barrier performance and safety improvement effects.
This study has carried out scanning tests in order to figure out the features of scanning search by sex of space users, with the result of which the validity of data has been estimated. In this research, the scanning patterns were set up for verifying the typology of scanning paths and then the reason for determining scanning paths and the validity of estimation method were reviewed. Since the observation features depends on sex, the analysis of visual activities for acquiring any information in a space will reveal the intention and purpose of space users. The findings by analyzing the features of scanning pattern by sex which were found at the determination of scanning patterns can be defined as the followings. First, for estimating the process of space-information search, the movement distance at each point of continuative-observation data from the angle of eye-movement has been extracted, on the ground of which the fixation and movement of eye have been defined for the establishment of scanning-cut characteristics. Second, the scanning times were estimated for the extraction of effective observation data that would be used for comparative analysis, which showed that men had more data (3,398.2/64.4%) than women (2,998.2/55.6%). This enables the acknowledgment that the scanning cut of men was relatively less, which indicates that men will acquire more information on space than women in the process of observing any space. Third, men's scanning times (58.0 times/2.02 seconds) were less than those of women (71.9 times/1.39 seconds) while the scanning time of the former was longer than that of the latter, which shows the feature that it takes longer for men than women in scanning while the scanning times of the former is less than those of the latter. Fourth, the observation features can be determined that the combination of this result with the predominance character by sex for a general viewpoint to be employed indicates that while men employ mixed-scanning for observation activities to acquire space-information spending for longer time, women, by concentrated-scanning, focus on a single point for shorter time or stay at one location for a considerably long time for space-information acquirement.
Purpose Though many information systems researchers have made various attempts to investigate the relationship between information technology capability and firm performance from diverse perspectives, we have not come to a conclusion yet with some mixed results. In this research, focusing on the adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems by firms as a proxy measure for information technology capability, we reexamine whether the association is significantly positive. Design/methodology/approach Previous research on this topic had some limitations to the samples and analysis method. Some research focused only on the 1990s or early 2000s, and other studies failed to adequately compare the impact of ERP adoption on firm performance between the treatment group and the control group. In this research, extending previous analysis approaches with the matched sample comparison of IT leaders and the control group, we attempt to apply propensity score matching in combination with difference-in-difference analysis with a sample of Korean firms that adopted ERP systems in the late 2000s. We match ERP adopters and non-adopters with propensity score matching and compare their financial performance with difference-in-difference estimation between the pre- and post-adoption periods. Findings According to our analysis, we find no positive and significant relationship between ERP adoption and firm performance in profit ratios. This research shows that, contrary to the era of proprietary information systems, standardized information systems today have no additional competitive advantages over competitors.
This study analysis if the concepts of kitsch and vernacular remains as cultural elements for product design. Because their function and aesthetic value have vivid possibilities for general product design fields. For the purpose, this study limits its range within post modernism, kitsch, and vernacular, and analyzes their relationships. Against functionalism, post modernism had cultural pluralisms to approach into popular styles, and some of them was amusing design. That post modernism designs stimulated human beings' emotion by decorations or some symbolic forms from specific objects is similar to the symbolism, regionalism, or pluralism of kitsch or vernacular. Kitsch is a free style that is not limited in any specific trends. It is a Meta culture that has influenced into various fields including design, so kitsch does not have a parallel position with a product or design. In product design, kitsch is the behavior and result of imitating existing objects' images. It could have amusement according to which objects are imitated. So if human beings feel amusement by kitsch, it could be same as the direction of post modernism. Kitsch is determined by design atmospheres. They cannot be specified abjectly, and can be different according to people. With symbolism and regionalism, kitsch and vernacular appeared according to people's needs. While kitsch is consumer's tastes-oriented, vernacular is cultural tradition-oriented. Kitsch has symbolism that specifies products' functions or design concepts, and it is a communication method between human being and products. Because vernacular is province-oriented, it has a lot of styles according to regional living environments and cultural differences. So vernacular design reflects continued traditional lifestyles. By restorative memory, regionalism, cultural pluralism, amusement, and symbolism, kitsch and vernacular could be understood the sub or parallel concepts of post modernism. They might be easily miss-understood mixed concepts that have western and national characters. But in kitsch and vernacular concept, modernizing pas by using the pluralism of post modernism should be considered positive. So, the range of the further study is also supposed to be focused on more widened fields to, to establish cultural identification in design.
