  • In recent years, several interesting families of generating functions for various classes of hypergeometric functions were investigated systematically. In the present paper, we introduce a new family of extended Wright type hypergeometric function and obtain several classes of generating relations for this extended Wright type hypergeometric function.

  • This paper presents the time response of a mixed vibration system with the viscous damping and the hysteretic damping. There are two ways to derive the time response of such a vibration system. One is an analytical method, using the contour integral of complex functions to compute the inverse Fourier transforms. The other is an approximate method in which the analytic functions derived by Hilbert transform are expressed in the state space representation, and only the effective eigenvalues are used to efficiently compute the transient response. The unit impulse responses of the two methods are compared and the change in the damping properties which depend on the viscous and hysteretic damping values is investigated. The results showed that the damping properties of a mixed damping vibration system do not present themselves as a linear combination of damping properties.

  • In this paper two so-called regularized Green's functions are introduced to derive the optimal maximum norm error estimates for the unknown function and the adjoint vector-valued function for mixed finite element methods of Laplacian operator. One contribution of the paper is a demonstration of how the boundedness of $L^1$-norm estimate for the second Green's function ${\lambda}_2$ and the optimal maximum norm error estimate for the adjoint vector-valued function are proved. These results are seemed to be to be new in the literature of the mixed finite element methods.

  • We generalize several integral inequalities for analytic functions on the open unit polydisc $U^n={\{}z{\in}C^n||zj|<1,\;j=1,...,n{\}}$. It is shown that if a holomorphic function on $U^n$ belongs to the mixed norm space $A_{\vec{\omega}}^{p,q}(U^n)$, where ${\omega}_j(\cdot)$,j=1,...,n, are admissible weights, then all weighted derivations of order $|k|$ (with positive orders of derivations) belong to a related mixed norm space. The converse of the result is proved when, p, q ${\in}\;[1,\;{\infty})$ and when the order is equal to one. The equivalence of these conditions is given for all p, q ${\in}\;(0,\;{\infty})$ if ${\omega}_j(z_j)=(1-|z_j|^2)^{{\alpha}j},\;{\alpha}_j>-1$, j=1,...,n (the classical weights.) The main results here improve our results in Z. Anal. Anwendungen 23 (3) (2004), no. 3, 577-587 and Z. Anal. Anwendungen 23 (2004), no. 4, 775-782.

  • The wavelet functions are originated from scaling functions and can be used as activation function in the hidden node of the network by deciding two parameters such as scale and center. In this paper, we would like to propose the mixed structure. When we compose the WNN using wavelet functions, we propose to set a single scale function as a node function together. The properties of the proposed structure is that while one scale function approximates the target function roughly, the other wavelet functions approximate it finely. During the determination of the parameters, the wavelet functions can be determined by the global search algorithm such as genetic algorithm to be suitable for the suggested problem. Finally, we use the back-propagation algorithm in the learning of the weights.

  • In this paper, we propose a weighting dependent mixed source model (WD-MSM) coder that is an improved version of a CELP-based mixed source model (C-MSM) coder. The coder classifies speech segments into three types : voiced, unvoiced and mixed. The excitation for a voiced frame is an adaptive source, and the excitation for an unvoiced frame is a stochastic source. The coder has a modified mixed source for a mixed frame. We apply different weighting functions for three classes. Simulation results show that the proposed coder at 4 kbits/s yields very good performance both subjectively and objectively.

  • In this paper, we compared various shear deformation functions for modelling anti-symmetric composite sandwich plates discretized by a mixed finite element method based on the Lagrangian/Hermite interpolation functions. These shear deformation theories uses polynomial, trigonometric, hyperbolic and exponential functions through the thickness direction, allowing for zero transverse shear stresses at the top and bottom surfaces of the plate. All shear deformation functions are compared with other available analytical/3D elasticity solutions, As a result, reasonable accuracy for investigated problems are predicted. Particularly, The present results show that the use of exponential shear deformation theory provides very good solutions for composite sandwich plates.

  • In this study, we propose a new three-node hybrid-mixed curved beam element with the relaxed-equiribrium stress functions for static analysis. The proposed element considering shear deformation is based on the Hellinger-Reissner variational principle. The stress functions are carefully chosen from three important considerations: (i) all the kinematic deformation modes must be suppressed, and (ii) the spurious constraints must be removed in the limiting behaviors via the field-consistency, and (iii) the relaxed equilibrium conditions could be incorporated because it might be impossible to select the stress functions and parameters to fully satisfy both the equiribrium conditions and the suppression of kinematic deformation modes in the three-node curved beam hybrid-mixed formulation. Numerical examples confirm the superior and stable behavior of the proposed element regardless of slenderness ratio and curvature. Besides, the proposed element shows the outstanding performance in predicting the stress resultant distributions.

  • In this paper, we establish coupled fixed point theorems for mixed monotone mappings satisfying nonlinear contraction involving a pair of altering distance functions in ordered G-metric spaces. Via presented theorems we extend and generalize the results of Harjani et al. [J. Harjani, B. L$\acute{o}$pez and K. • This study was designed to develop a new algorithm to extract the voluntary EMG and the evoked EMG from a mixed EMG generated when the muscle is stimulated both voluntarily and by electrical stimulation in the FES system. The proposed parallel filter algorithm consists of three phases: (1) Fourier transform of the mixed EMG, (2) multiplication of the transformed signal to two frequency functions, and (3) inverse Fourier transform. Four incomplete spinal cord injured patients participated in the experiments to evaluate the algorithm by measuring the knee extensor torque and the EMG signals from the quadriceps. Two functions of the algorithms were evaluated: (1) extraction of the evoked EMG and (2) the voluntary EMG from the mixed EMG. The results showed that the algorithm enabled us to separate the two EMG components in real time from the mixed EMG. The algorithm can and will be used for estimating the voluntary torque and the evoked torque independently through an artificial neural network based on the two EMG components, and also for generating a trigger signal to control the on/off time of the FES system.
