In this paper, the anti-plane transient response of a central crack normal to the interface between a piezoelectric ceramics and two same elastic materials is considered. The assumed crack surfaces are permeable. By virtue of integral transform methods, the electro elastic mixed boundary problems are formulated as two set of dual integral equations, which, in turn, are reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind in the Laplace transform domain. Time domain solutions are obtained by inverting Laplace domain solutions using a numerical scheme. Numerical values on the quasi-static stress intensity factor and the dynamic energy release rate are presented to show the dependences upon the geometry, material combination, electromechanical coupling coefficient and electric field.
The electrical resistivity and piezoelectric properties have been studied for Lead Zirconate-Titanate(PZT) with $Nb_2O_5$ dopant, fabricated from conventional mixed-oxide powders and molten salt synthesis. The resistivity and electromechanical coupling factor(Kp) were increased with increasing Nb contents. The reason for increasing of the electrical resistivity below the Curie Temperature(Tc), It is believed that the p-type electrical conduction in PZT is caused by the lead vacancies. The electromechanical coupling factor(Kr) and piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ were improved by Nb additives. This behavior can be explained as a compensation effect and $Nb^{5+}$ can serve as a donar and contribute electrons to the conduction process. As a result, the optimized $Nb_2O_5$ dopants on the PZT specimens were 0.75 wt%.
An analysis method of electromagnetic coupling through an arbitrarily shaped aperture on the upper wall of parallel-plate waveguide, when excited by an electromagnetic plane wave from outside, is considered. The mixed-potential integral equation, in which Green's functions are expressed in a computationally efficient closed form by using the Prony's method and the Sommerfeld identity, is formulated. Expanding the unknown equivalent magnetic surface current in terms of two-dimensional rooftop-type basis functions and choosing razor testing, the integral equation is reduced to a linear algebraic equation, which is solved. The results are compared with the previous results. Fairly good agreements between them are observed.
Chlorosulfonated polyethylene(CSM) was moisture-cure after treating them with silane coupling agents such as ${\gamma}-mercapto$ propyl trimethoxy silane, ${\gamma}-glycidoxy$ propyl triethoxy silane and methyl triethoxy silane, 3-(trimethoxy silyl) propyl methacrylate and 3-thiocyanopropyl triethoxy silane. The cure reaction is composed two steps. The first is the reaction between chlorosulfonyl groups of CSM and silane coupling agents. The second is the formation of cross-links which are siloxane linkage. The linkage is formed by the condensation of silanol groups which are produced by the hydrolysis of alkoxysilyl groups. CSM was mixed with MPS etc., and dilaurate dilaurate as catalyst on two open mill and the compounds were lured in hot water at $70^{\circ}C$ Physical properties of moisture-cured CSM was measured. CSM was effectively moisture-cured and r-mercapto propyl trimethoxy silane and r-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane were capable of the vulcanizing agents.
Electrical resistivity and piezoelectric properties were investigated in Lead Zirconate-Titante(PZT) with Nb$_2$O$\sub$5/dopant, fabricated from conventional mixed-oxide powders and molten salt synthesis. The resistivity and electromechanical coupling factor(K$\sub$p/) were increased with increasing Nb content. The reason for increasing of the electrical resistivity below the Curie Temperature(TC). It is believed that the Curie Temperature(Tc). It is believed that the p-type electrical conduction in PZT is due to lead vacancies. The electromechanical coupling factor(K$\sub$p/) and piezoelectric constant d$\sub$33/ were improved. This behavior can be explained as a compensation effect and Nb$\^$5+/ can serve as a donar and contribute electrons to the conduction process. As a result, the optimized Nb$_2$O$\sub$5/ dopants on the PZT specimens were 0.75 wt%.
Solution and frozen solution EPR spectra of $\alpha-1,2,3-[HPV(IV)V_2W_9O_{40}]^{6-}$ have been analyzed. The isotropic hyperfine coupling constants remain constant at 350-77 K, indicating that the unpaired electron is delocalized over three vanadium atoms probably even in the ground state.
This paper presents the dynamic analysis method for an electromechanical system. The engineer has at his disposal a variety of software simulation tools. However, difficulties arise when the study of the behavior of complex electromechanical systems in combination with coupling element is required. Typical examples of such systems are machines for factory automation, home automation, and office automation. Dynamic systems analysis packages or electronic systems analysis packages offer the restrictive to simulate these mixed systems such electromechanical product. Electronic circuit analysis algorithm is easily incorporated into a multi-body dynamics analysis algorithm. The governing equation of electronic circuit is formulated as a differential algebraic equation form including both electrical and mechanical variables and is simultaneously solved in every time step. This analysis method clearly demonstrates the application potential for mixed electromechanical simulation.
A new approach for groundwater treatment combines a permeable Fe(0) barrier to breakdown higher chlorinated solvents like PCE and TCE with a downgradient aerobic biological treatment system to biotransform less chlorinated solvents, such as DCE and vinyl chloride (VC). The expected bacterial performance downgradient of an Fe(0) barrier was evaluated through laboratory batch experiments with a toluene-degrading mixed culture that cometabolically transforms cis-1,2-DCE and VC. The amount of cis-1,2-DCE (initially at 2,000 ppb) and VC (initially at 2,000 ppb) transformed was controlled by the initial toluene (20,000 ppb) concentration. VC was removed much more effectively than Cis-1,2-DCE, and a higher toluene concentration in comparison to the co-substrate concentrations was needed for complete co-substrate removal. Overall, the coupling of an Fe(0) barrier and subsequent biodegradation appears feasible for remediation of complex mixtures of chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater
The cis-hex-3-ene-1,5-diynyl-bridged diiron compound 3, [(η$^{5}$ - $C_{5}$ M $e_{5}$ ) Fe(dppe)]$_2$($\mu$-C≡C-CH=CH-C≡C), have been prepared and characterized by cyclic voltammetry(CV), and electronic spectroscopy (UV-VIS and near-IR, NMR). From the results, compound 3 show two well resolved, single-electron, reversible oxidation waves by CV, and comproportionation constant(Kc) calculated from the CV data for compound 3. The Mixed-valence (MV) radical cation 3$^{+}$ show strong absorptions in the near IR, 1586 nm, and this band is more readily assigned as MV $\pi$-$\pi$ band of delocalized complex (Robin-Day Mixed-valence Class III), and the $H_{ab}$ , effective coupling parameter are most consistent with electronic delocalization.
The metallic nanoparticles (Pt, Au, Ag. Cu, etc.) supported on ceria-titania mixed oxide exhibit a high catalytic activity for the water gas shift reaction ($H_2O\;+\;CO\;{\leftrightarrow}\;H_2\;+\;CO_2$) and the CO oxidation ($O_2\;+\;2CO\;{\leftrightarrow}\;2CO_2$). It has been speculated that the high catalytic activity is related to the easy exchange of the oxidation states of ceria ($Ce^{3+}$ and $Ce^{4+}$) on titania, but very little is known about the ceria titanium interaction, the growth mode of metal on ceria titania complex, and the reaction mechanism. In this work, the growth of $CeO_x$ and Au/$CeO_x$ on rutile $TiO_2$(110) have been investigated by Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Photoelectron Spectroscopy (PES), and DFT calculation. In the $CeO_x/TiO_2$(110) systems, the titania substrate imposes on the ceria nanoparticles non-typical coordination modes, favoring a $Ce^{3+}$ oxidation state and enhancing their chemical activity. The deposition of metal on a $CeO_x/TiO_2$(110) substrate generates much smaller nanoparticles with an extremely high activity. We proposed a mechanism that there is a strong coupling of the chemical properties of the admetal and the mixed-metal oxide: The adsorption and dissociation of water probably take place on the oxide, CO adsorbs on the admetal nanoparticles, and all subsequent reaction steps occur at the oxide-admetal interface.
