  • Logistics network management has become one of the most important sources of competitive advantage regarding logistics cost and customer service in numerous business segments. Logistics network simulation is a powerful analysis method for designing and planning the logistics network optimally in an integrated way. This paper introduces a logistics network simulator, LONSIM, developed by author. LONSIM deploys a mix of simulation and optimization functions to model and analysis logistics network issues such as facility location, inventory policy, manufacturing policy, transportation mode, warehouse assignment, supplier assignment, order processing priority rule, and vehicle routes. LONSIM is built with AweSim 2.1 and Visual Basic 6.0, and executed in windows environment.

  • USN is a technology to detect human external environment. It is an important factor in buildinga ubiquitous computing environment. In this thesis, an authentication method was proposed to allow the sensor nodes, which have weak computing operation capability, to safely communicate with each other in USN and guarantee the anonymity of users for their privacy. In the proposed authentication method that takes into account the characteristics of sensor network, sensor nodes based on a symmetric key algorithm do not transfer keys directly, instead, they mix the random numbers received from AS to generate keys necessary for communications, having a master key and a pseudo-random number generator. In addition, in this thesis, TA was adopted to minimize the leakage of users' information, and a scheme through which virtual IDs received from AS are delivered to sensor nodes was applied to improve anonymity.

  • With the increasing demand of environmentally clean machining in recent years, the use of coolants has been restricted extensively. In this paper, a multiple comparison method(Tukey's HSD method) is proposed to choose the optimum level of coolant necessary for an efficient and environmentally clean machining. The cutting temperature, specific cutting energy, and surface roughness in turning process are analysed by ANOVA(Analysis Of Variance) and Tukey's HSD method. From the experimental results and statistical analysis, it is found that the optimum condition of coolant level is 10 ml/min with 6% mix ratio, which is almost half of the commonly used level.

  • We present a droplet-manipulation method using opto-thermal flows in oils. The flows are originated from Marangoni and buoyancy effects due to temperature gradient, generated by the adsorption of light on an amorphous silicon thin film. Using this method, we can transport, merge and mix droplets in an extremely simple system. Since the temperature rise during the operation is small, this method can be used for biological applications without the damage on cell viability.

  • This paper Introduces the concept of the generation cost of generating utilities and its calculation methods. Also, the economic evaluation method using generation cost which is called as a screening curve method will be presented along with the benefits and disadvantages of this concept. Next, the least-cost electric utility planning techniques which is used very widely in many countries will be Introduced In comparison with screening curve method. In this aspects, the optimal dynamic mix can be determined as a result. By comparing these two concepts, we will get the concrete concept why the economic evaluation method using generation cost can not be used for the future generation expansion planning.

  • As the purpose of this study is a research of series to obtain fundamental data on the development of the product of foamed concrete using bottom ash for various applications in the field, the main purpose is the light weight of product of concrete. In this experiment, method of mixing of foam is very important because it control specific gravity and strength of the product. As the test results, it was found that regardless of mixing method the grower the concentration of foaming agent the lower the specific gravity and the compressive strength of the specimen especially pre-foaming method. From a strength point of view, we knew that mix-foaming method and steam curing is efficient to obtain a adequate compressive strength of foamed concrete.

  • By including the overlap integrals between atomic orbitals, the modified cluster orbitals for a metal cluster of face centered cubic lattice are found. The modified analytic solutions of the cluster are obtained from them with the assumption that the cluster orbitals with different state indices do not mix together. The physical properties-the HOMO levels and the unit electronic energies-of Ni, Pd, and Pt clusters of various size, calculated by the modified cluster orbital method, agree better with the results obtained by the Extended Huckel calculation than those of the previous(unmodified) cluster orbital method do. As a result, it is verified that the physical properties, at least those related to the energy levels, obtained by the Extended Huckel method may be reproduced by use of the modified cluster orbital method instead.

  • This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the mechanical properties of concrete mixtures in which fine(S) and coarse(G) aggregate was fully replaced with fly ash(FA). And flowability reduction problem in a large amount of fly ash concrete settled addition water($W_f$) in concrete mixture. In the test, water-cement ratio($W_c/C$) was 0.35, 0.45, and water-fly ash ratio($W_f/FA$) was 0.35, 0.45. The fly ash replacement is two different method of P and Q. The P method is mix property that the fly ash and addition water($W_f$) weight is equal to the aggregate weight [ $FA+W_f$ = G (or S)]. The Q method is mix property that fly ash is equal to aggregate weight, and added addition water($W_f$) [$FA+W_f$ > G (or S)]. Test were performed for properties of fresh concrete and compressive strength were determined at 3, 7, 28 and 91 days. The result, compressive strength was improvement that $W_c/C=0.35$, $W_f/FA=0.35$ and fine aggregate replacement in P method series than others. The flowability at Q method was improvement result than P method, but compressive strength was not. Test results indicate significant improvement in the strength properties and flowability of plain concrete by the inclusion of fly ash as fully replacement of fine and coarse aggregate, and can be effectively the fly ash replacement method.

  • The critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the counterion binding constant (B) in a mixed micellar state of the trimethyltetradecylammonium bromide (TTAB) with the polyoxyethylene (23) lauryl ether (Brij 35) at $25^{\circ}C$ in water and in aqueous solutions of n-butanol (0.1 M, 0.2 M, and 0.3 M) were determined as a function of ${\alpha}_1$ (the overall mole fraction of TTAB) by the use of electric conductivity method and surface tensiometer method. Various thermodynamic parameters ($X_i$, ${\gamma}_i$, $C_i$, ${a_i}^M$, ${\beta}$, and ${\Delta}H_{mix}$) were calculated by means of the equations derived from the nonideal mixed micellar model. The effects of n-butanol on the micellization of TTAB/Brij 35 mixtures have been also studied by analyzing the measured and calculated thermodynamic parameters.

  • A method for lmprovlng strengths of recycled concrete was studied to make use of it in nolmal concrete structures. Recycled conc~ete was prepared by replacing 50% by weight of coarse aggregate with recycled aggregate. Mix design rnet hod for crushed aggregates was used and specirriens were cured by normal moisture curing method. A plastlciser and a fly ash were added to the mix to improve performance of recycled concrete. Compressive strength, flexural strength, tensile strength, elastic modulus, stress-strain relationship, long-term compressive strength and fracture toughness were evaluated and compared with those of rlormal concretes. Recycled concrete showed, in general, lower compressive strength than normal concreks. It also showed lower elastic modulus, lower tensile and flexural strengths, and higher strain under the same stress level. However, by reducing w /c ratio down to 35% using the plasticiser. average compressive strength(${\alpha}_{28}$) of recycled concrete was reached. with slump of $16{\pm}2$cm, to $225kg/cm^2$ or hlgher, which is an acceptable strmgth level for normal structural concrete. I-Iowevei., elastic modulus and strain should be improved further for practical use of recycled concrctc: in normal structure. Fly ash addition in both concretes showed an effect of irnprovilig long term compressive strength and reducing strengths.
