  • This paper attempts to quantify the effect of mismatch in creep properties on steady-state stress distributions for a welded branch vessel. A particular geometry for the branch vessel is chosen. The vessel is modeled by only two materials, the base and weld metal. Idealized power law creep laws with the same creep exponents are assumed for base and weld metals. A mismatch factor is introduced, as a function of the creep constant and exponent. Steady-state stress distributions within the weld metal, resulting from threedimensional, elastic-creep finite element (FE) analyses, are then characterized by the mismatch factor. We can find that average stresses in the weld can be characterized by the mis-match factor. And there is an analogy between elastic-creep and elastic-perfectly plastic.

  • This study would like to evaluate the influences with the strength mismatch and the variation of the welding width of the narrow gap welding for the plastic parameter, the major constant determining the plastic ${\eta}$-factor of J-Integral, using 3-D FEM. For this, we evaluate the plastic ${\eta}$-factor according to the variation of the strength mismatch of weldment with same materials and welding width through FEM. Also, we proposed the equation of plastic ${\eta}$-factor considering the variation of the strength mismatch of weldment with similar materials and welding width.

Crystal structure of mismatch repair protein MutS and its complex with a substrate DNA

  • Mismatches in a DNA duplex are mainly due to DNA duplication errors that are generated by improper function of DNA polymerase. MutS, MutL and MutH are crucial proteins for the initiation of the methyl-directed mismatch repairing in bacteria. MutS has an ATPase activity md recognize the mismatched or unpaired bases on DNA. After binding to a mismatch, MutS recruits MutL to mediate the activation of MutH an endonuclease, which cleaves the 5' site of d(GATC) on the un-methylated strand. Both MutL and MutS also have essential roles in the subsequent removal and re-synthesis of the daughter strand. We have determined the crystal structures of either intact or active fragments of each of these proteins, both alone and complexed with ligands (DNA, ADP and ATP). The biochemical and mutagenesis studies based on the detailed 3-D structures led to new insights into the role of the ATPase activity of MutS in the mismatch recognition and directions for future investigation of mismatch repair.

여성의 교육수준에 따른 직무불일치에 대한 연구 (A study on job mismatches by women's education level)

  • This study examined the degree of job mismatches and how job mismatches affects wages and job satisfaction of women wage workers who graduated from college. The four-year data from the 20th to 23rd (2017-2020) of the Korean Labor & Income Panel Study (KLIPS) were integrated and used for analysis. As a result of the study, first, it was found that female workers graduating from universities in Korea are experiencing serious job mismatches such as education, skill, and major mismatches. The degree was more pronounced as the level of education increased. Second, it was found that it had a negative (-) effect on wages according to the degree of job mismatch, such as education, skill, and major mismatch. Third, it was confirmed that job satisfaction decreased according to the degree of job mismatch such as education, skill, and major mismatch.

The Wall Shear Rate Distribution Near an End-to-End Anastomosis : Effects of Graft Compliance and Size

  • The patency rates of small diameter vascular grafts are disappointing because of the formation of thrombus and intimal hyperplasia. Among the various factors influencing the success of graft surgery, the compliance and the size of a graft are believed to be the most important physical properties of a vascular graft. Mismatch of compliance and size between an artery and a graft alters anastomotic flow characteristics, which may affect the formation of intimal hyperplasia. Among the hemodynamic factors influencing the development of intimal hyperplasia, the wall shear stress is suspected as the most important one. The wall shear stress distributions are experimentally measured near the end-to-end anastomosis models in order to clarify the effects of compliance and diameter mismatch on the hemodynamics near the anastomosis. The effects of radial wall motion, diameter mismatch and impedance phase angle on the wall shear rate distributions near the anastomosis are considered. Compliance mismatch generates both different radial wall motion and instantaneous diameter mismatch between the arterial portion and the graft portion during a flow cycle. Mismatch in diameter seems to be affecting the wall shear rate distribution more significantly compared to radial wall motion. The impedance phase angle also affects the wall shear rate distribution.

저역 통과 필터 불일치를 포함한 직접 변환 수신기의 I/Q 불균형 보상 기법 (I/Q Imbalance Compensation Method for the Direct Conversion Receiver with Low Pass Filter Mismatch)

  • 무선 통신 시스템의 집적화 및 비용 절감을 위해 복잡한 필터를 사용하는 헤테로다인 수신기 대신 직접 변환 수신기가 재조명되고 있다. 이에 따라 직접 변환 수신기의 성능 저하 요인을 개선하기 위한 방법 중 하나로 I/Q 불균형 문제, 즉 실수부와 허수부의 진폭, 위상 불일치 개선을 위한 연구가 진행되었다. 그러나 기존 협대역 시스템 중심의 연구에서 크게 고려하지 않아도 되었던 저역 통과 필터의 불일치 문제가 통신 시스템의 광대역화 추세에 따라 직접 변환 수신기의 I/Q 불균형 현상에 심각한 영향을 미칠 수 있게 되었다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 10MHz의 광대역 신호를 발생시켜 중심 주파수로부터 각각 ${\pm}8MHz$로 이동시켜 필터 불일치에 의한 영향이 주파수 선택적으로 나타남을 확인하고, 기존의 I/Q 불균형 모델링에서 주로 다루었던 진폭, 위상 불일치에 더하여 필터 불일치 모델링을 추가하였다. 또한 각 불일치 요소를 제거하기 위한 보상 방법을 제시하였다. 모의실험을 통해, 제안한 I/Q 불균형 보상기는 필터 불일치가 존재하는 상황에서 주파수에 따른 신호 왜곡의 차이를 보상함을 확인하였다.

Loss of ARID1A Expression in Gastric Cancer: Correlation with Mismatch Repair Deficiency and Clinicopathologic Features

  • Purpose: The AT-rich interactive domain 1A (ARID1A ) gene encodes BRG1-associated factor 250a, a component of the SWItch/Sucrose NonFermentable chromatin remodeling complex, which is considered a tumor suppressor in many tumors. We aimed to investigate the prognostic significance of ARID1A expression in gastric cancers and explore its relationship with clinicopathologic parameters such as mismatch repair protein expression. Materials and Methods: Four tissue microarrays were constructed from 191 resected specimens obtained at Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital from 2006 to 2008. Nuclear expression of ARID1A was semiquantitatively assessed and binarized into retained and lost expression. Results: Loss of ARID1A expression was observed in 62 cases (32.5%). This was associated with more frequent vascular invasion (P=0.019) and location in the upper third of the stomach (P=0.001), and trended toward more poorly differentiated subtypes (P=0.054). ARID1A loss was significantly associated with the mismatch repair-deficient phenotype (P=0.003). ARID1A loss showed a statistically significant correlation with loss of MLH1 (P=0.001) but not MSH2 expression (P=1.000). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed no statistically significant difference in overall survival; however, patients with retained ARID1A expression tended to have better overall survival than those with loss of ARID1A expression (P=0.053). In both mismatch repair-deficient and mismatch repair-proficient groups, survival analysis showed no differences related to ARID1A expression status. Conclusions: Our results demonstrated that loss of ARID1A expression is closely associated with the mismatch repair-deficient phenotype, especially in sporadic microsatellite instability-high gastric cancers.

채널 부정합 보정 회로를 가진 3-GSymbol/s/lane MIPI C-PHY 송수신기 (A 3-GSymbol/s/lane MIPI C-PHY Transceiver with Channel Mismatch Correction Circuit)

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 산업 프로세서 인터페이스(MIPI:mobile industry processor interface)의 C-PHY 사양 버전 1.1을 지원하는 3-GSymbol/s/lane 송수신기가 제안된다. 제안한 송수신기는 3 개 채널에서 3 개 레벨 신호의 사용으로 인해 저하된 신호 보존성을 개선하기 위해 채널 부정합 보정을 수행한다. 제안된 채널 부정합 보정은 수신기에서 채널 부정합을 검출하고, 검출 결과에 따라 송신기에서 전송 데이터의 지연 시간을 조정함으로써 수행된다. 수신기에서 채널 불일치 검출은 송신기로부터 전송된 정해진 데이터 패턴에 대하여 수신된 신호의 위상을 비교함으로써 수행된다. 제안된 MIPI C-PHY 송수신기는 1.2 V 공급 전압의 65 nm CMOS 공정을 사용하여 설계되었다. 각 송수신기 레인의 면적과 전력소모는 각각 0.136 ㎟와 17.4 mW/GSymbol/s이다. 제안된 채널 부정합 보정은 채널 부정합으로 인한 88.6 ps의 시간 지터를 34.9 ps로 줄인다.

광양지역 청년 일자리 미스매치 실태와 해결방안: 광양제철소 협력사를 사례로 (Current Status and Solutions of Youth Job Mismatch in Gwangyang Area: A Case of the POSCO Outsourcing Partners)

  • 우리나라 대표적인 철강도시에 해당하는 광양시에서 광양제철소 협력사(59개사)는 지역 내 일자리 창출에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 하지만 광양제철소 협력사는 구인난을 겪고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 광양제철소 협력사를 사례로 취업 및 고용과 관련한 구직자와 구인자(고용주) 간 미스매치 속성을 분석하는 것이다. 9개 요인에 대한 미스매치 분석 결과, 협력사에 대한 인지도, 기업·취업정보 접근성, 취업정보 취득경로, 취업선호 요인 등에서 분명한 미스매치가 존재하였다. 반면에 취업기피 요인, 구인·구직난의 경험 등에서는 미스매치가 나타나지 않았다. 미스매치 해결방안으로는 광양제철소협력사협회 역할 재정립, 노사상생·협력을 위한 역량강화사업 추진, 마스터플랜과 연계한 관련사업의 단계적 추진 등이 도출되었다.

A Fast and Precise Blind I/Q Mismatch Compensation for Image Rejection in Direct-Conversion Receiver

  • In this paper, we propose a new digital blind in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) mismatch compensation technique for image rejection in a direct-conversion receiver (DCR). The proposed image-rejection circuit adopts DC offset cancellation and a sign-sign least mean squares (LMS) algorithm with a unique step size adaptation both for a fast and precise I/Q mismatch estimation. In addition, several performance-optimizing design considerations related to accuracy, speed, and hardware simplicity are discussed. The implementation of the proposed circuit in an FPGA results in an image-rejection ratio (IRR) of 65 dB, which is the best performance with modulated signals, along with an adaptation time of 0.9 seconds, which is a tenfold increase in the compensation speed as compared to previously reported circuits. The proposed technique will be a promising solution in the area of image rejection to increase both the speed and accuracy of future DCRs.
