  • This study dealt with developing a new approach for finding properties which might represent rut resistance characteristics of asphalt mixture under static loading. Two aggregates, a normal asphalt (pen 60-80) and 5 polymer-modified asphalts were used in preparation of 12 dense-graded mixtures. Marshall mix design was used in determination of OAC and each mixture at the OAC was prepared for a newly-developed Kim test on Marshall specimen (S=10cm) and gyratory specimen (S=15cm), and for wheel tracking test. Kim test used Marshall loading frame and specimens were conditioned for 30min at $60^{\circ}C$ before loading through Kim tester an apparatus consisting of a loading column and a specimen and column holder Diameter (D) of column was 3cm and 4cm with each column having different radius (r) of round cut at the bottom. The static load was applied at 50mm/min in axial direction of the specimen, not in diametral direction. The maximum load ($P_{max}$) and vertical deformation (y) at $P_{max}$ point were obtained from the test. A strength value was calculated based on the $P_{max}$ r, D and y by using the equation $K_D = 4P_{max}/{\pi}(D-2(r-\sqrt{2ry-y^2}))^2$ and is defined as the deformation strength ($kgf/cm^2$). The values of $P_{max}$/y and $K_I=K_D/y$ were also calculated. In general the leading column diameter and radius of round cut were significant factors affecting $K_D$ and $P_{max}$ values while specimen diameter was not. The statistical analyses showed the $K_D$ had the best correlation with rut depth and dynamic stability. The next best correlation was found from $P_{max}$ which was followed by $P_{max}$/y and $K_I$ in order.

  • In order to reflect the aggregation situation in the aggregation process, aggregation based on situation assessment (ASA) method was proposed in [1]. It consists of the situation assessment model (SAM) and the ASA algorithm. In the SAM, the value of parameter, p, is transformed into the nearest integer value [1]. The integer-typed output of SAM is used as input for an aggregation. The integer-typed output of SAM indicates the current degree of aggregation situation. The ASA algorithm produces at most finite several aggregation results between min and max. In the sequel, the ASA method can not properly handle the applications with the more sophisticated aggregation results between min and max. In order to solve this problem, we propose two improved ASA (I-ASA) methods. In these I-ASA methods, we allow the value of parameter of SAM to be a real number, and suggest two improved ASA algorithms to make continuous aggregation results between min and max. These I-ASA methods can handle both a precise aggregation and an approximate aggregation. Therefore, when compared to the ASA method [1], the proposed I-ASA methods have advantages in that they can handle the applications with the more sophisticated aggregation results and can be used in the more general applications for aggregations.

  • This study was performed to investigate the hemodynamic changes which occur after occlusion of coronary artery and relation to reperfusion arrhythmias(RA) which occur when occlusion materials were removed form coronary artery in dogs. The occlusion of coronary artery was designed by temporary ligation of left circumflex branch of coronary artery during 30 minutes in 16 dogs. During occlusion of coronary artery, cardiac output(CO), mean aortic pressure (mAP), aortic systolic pressure(ASP), aortic diastolic pressure(ADP). left ventricular systolic pressure(LVSP), left ventricular maximum dp/dt (LV max. dp/dt) and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) were measured. The occurrence of RA were observed for 5 minute after reperfusion by explained of ligation. As a results, cardiac arrest occurred in 4 dogs during occlusion of coronary artery, and RA was not observed in 5 dogs while it was seen in 5 dogs when explained ligation(reperfusion) after 30 minutes, the rest 2 dogs occurred temporary tachycardia. In hemodynamics changes, LVSP decreased by 10.9% and LV max. dp/dt by 5.4 % in comparison to control value which not ligated coronary artery, and LVEDP increased by 73.3%. The CO/min and mAP also decreased by 10.7% and by 11.3% expectedly. In the relationship to occurrence RA and hemodynamics changes, the LVSP and LV max. dp/dt at the time of occlusion in the RA group decreased by 11.9% and 0.8% in comarison to the control value while the decrease was 7.7% and 10% in the non-RA group. But the LVEDP in creased by 109.1% in the RA group while the decreased was 44.6% in the non-RA group. Referring CO/min, the drop was 8.8% in the RA occurrence group and 12.9% in the non-occurence group. These parameters of LVEDP, LV max. dp/dt, and CO were significant difference(p<0.05). The mAP also decreased by 11.9 in the RA group and by 9.8% in the non-RA group, but these defference were not the significant difference.

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the bidirectional transport of 1-anilino-8-naphthalene sulfonate (ANS) using isolated rat hepatocytes. The initial uptake rate of ANS by isolated hepatocytes was determined. The uptake process of ANS was saturable, with a $K_m of 29.1\pm3.2 \mu M and V_{max} of 2.9\pm0.1$ mmol/min/mg protein. Subsequently, the initial efflux rate of ANS from isolated hepatocytes was determined by resuspending preloaded cells to 3.0% (w/v) BSA buffer. The efflux process for total ANS revealed a little saturability. The mean value of the efflux clearance was $2.2\pm0.1 \mu$ L/min/mg protein. The efflux rate of ANS from hepatocytes was markedly decreased at $4^{\circ}C$, indicating that the apparent efflux of ANS might not be attributed to the release of ANS bound to the cell surface, but to the efflux of ANS from intracellular space. The efflux clearance was furthermore corrected for the unbound intracellular ANS concentration on the basis of its binding parameters to cytosol. The relation between efflux rate and unbound ANS concentration was fitted well to the Michaelis-Menten equation with a saturable and a nonsaturable components. The $V_{max} and K_m$ values were 0.54 mmol/min/mg protein, and 10.0 $\mu$ M, respectively. Based on the comparison of the ratios of $V_{max} to K_m (V_{max}/K_m)$ corresponding to the transport clearance, the influx clearance was two times higher than the efflux clearance. Together with our preliminary studies that ATP suppression in hepatocytes substantially inhibited ANS influx rate, we concluded that the hepatic uptake of ANS is actively taken up into hepatocytes via the carrier mediated transport system.

  • We was constructed of the spread movement with tremor layer point by the tractile-dot structure that was analyzed the squirm quake forms of the perception movement on the atom liquid. Algorithm of squirm quake forms was used to move the spread tremor on the atom state. To detect the tiny signal, we compared the association average value of the squirm quake form on the atom state. Their subject were issued the valuation standard and perception movement for basic atom condition by the spread tremor. We take to detect the tiny scores of average during perception movement side from the spread tremor that magnetic condition get to a variation of the Ma-αAVG and Ma-αMAX-MIN with 6.25±0.35 units, that electric condition get to a variation for the El-αAVG and El-αMAX-MIN with 5.68±0.42 units. The spread tremor was to investigate the capacity of the tremor form, to uptake a spread data of spread tremor level on the CCPL that was denoted the calm-classification form by the spread perception level system. As the squirm quake forms was demanded by the spread tremor signal, max-average values of perception movement were checked the spread position for association average data. We make mention of squirm quake forms for a signal association and a quake data signal of relation system.

  • Body physical technique is to pursuit the dynamic motion by the physical index(PI) and sensory index(SI) on the physical body function. Function of the physical body by the motor condition is organized the dynamic physical system. For the physical motion of signal, we is defined a runout value of the body function by the physical index on the dynamic state. The concept of body physical index was identified the reference of physical index and sensory index by the body technique. As to detect a variation of the body physical technique-runout physical index(BPT-RPI) of the maximum and average and minimum in terms of physical motion, and the dynamic sensory value that was a runout function of the vision variation of the $Vi-{\xi}_{MAX-AVG-MIN}$ with $2.53{\pm}4.85$ units, that was a runout function of the vestibular variation of the $Ve-{\xi}_{MAX-AVG-MIN}$ with ($-0.69{\pm}2.32$)units, that was a runout function of the somatosensory variation of the $So-{\xi}_{MAX-AVG-MIN}$ with ($-1.43{\pm}-1.36$) units. The dynamic physical motion will be to confirm at the variable function of the runout motion for the body function values of dynamic physical index on the BPT-RPI that was identified an evaluation of the physical sensory function by the dynamic physical system. Runout body system was mentioned of a physical body situation by the mild moving and was refer a runout data of dynamic physical nervous index.

  • Recently, filtering methods for attenuating noise while preserving image details are in progress actively. And SM(standard median) filter showed a great performance for noise removal in impulse noise environment but, it caused edge cancellation error. So, variable methods that modified SM(standard median) filter have been proposed, and CWM(center weighted median) filter is representative. Also, there are several methods to improve the efficiency based on min/max operation in term of preserving detail and filtering speed. In this paper, we managed a pixel corrupted by impulsive noise using min/max value of the surrounding band enclosing a pixel, and compared the efficiency with exiting methods in the simulation.

  • Mathematical morphology, theoretical foundation for morphological filter, is very efficient for the analysis of the geometrical characteristics of signals and systems and is used as a predominant tool for smoothing the data with noise. In this study, H/W design of morphological filter is implemented to process the gray scale dilation and the erosion in the same circuit and to choose the maximum and minimum value by a selector, resulting in their education of the complexity of the circuit and an architecture for parallel processing. The structure of morphological filter consists of the structuring-element block, the image data block, the control block, the ADD block, the MIN/MAX block, etc, and is designed on an one-chip for real time operation.

  • Fracture models and criteria of adhesive with two parameters, namely $G_C$ and ${\sigma}_{max}$, have been developed to describe the fracture process of adhesive joints. Cohesive zone model(CZM) is a representative two parameter failure criteria approach. In CZM, ${\sigma}_{max}$ is a critical, limiting maximum value of the stress in the damage zone ahead of the crack and is assumed to have some physical significance in adhesive failure. Based on CZM and finite element analysis method, the relationship between fracture load and adhesive properties, as $G_{IC)$ and $({\sigma}_{max})_I$, was investigated in adhesively bonded joint tensile test and T-peel test. The two parameters in tensile mode loading were evaluated by using the relationship. The value of $G_{\IC}$ evaluated by proposed method showed close agreement with analytical solution for tapered double cantilever beam(TDCB) test which proposed in an ASTM standard.
