  • This paper relates to the performance analysis of DoA estimation algorithm in 2-dimensional circular array antenna for the receiving of GPS signal which is used for the performance improvement by elimination of jammer signal. By performing the spatial filtering after the DoA estimation in array antenna, the quality of receiving signal can improve by the nulling of jammer signal from the undesired direction and the forming of beam from the desired direction. In this paper, the MUSIC and MinNorm algorithm used for DoA estimation were applied after fixing the angle and power of jammer signal in 4 element and 7 element circular array antenna. In order to performance analysis, the estimation result and estimation error were computed by computer simulation. As a result, the MUSIC and MinNorm were fairly good in azimuth and elevation angle estimation of DoA in case of good signal to noise ratio and the MUSIC has better performance compared to MinNorm in case of poor signal to noise ratio.

  • In this paper, we propose an iterative mixed norm image restoration algorithm using multi regularization parameters. A functional which combines the regularized $l_2$ norm functional and the regularized $l_4$ norm functional is proposed to efficiently remove arbitrary noise. The smoothness of each functional is determined by the regularization parameters. Also, a regularization parameter is used to determine the relative importance between the regularized $l_2$ norm functional and the regularized $l_4$ norm functional using kurtosis. An iterative algorithm is utilized for obtaining a solution and its convergence is analyzed. Experimental results demonstrate the capability of the proposed algorithm.

  • Computation with fuzzy numbers is a prospective branch of a fuzzy set theory regarding the data processing applications. In this paper we consider an open problem about distributivity of fuzzy quantities based on the extension principle suggested by Mare (1997). Indeed, we show that the distributivity on the class of fuzzy numbers holds and min-norm is the only continuous t-norm which holds the distributivity under t-norm based fuzzy arithmetic operations.

  • NORM is used as a raw material in various industries worldwide. According to the IAEA, radiological effects may occur in the environment due to raw materials and by-products generated from NORM industries. The objective of this study was to assess radiological environmental impact of the phosphate processing industry to identify the radiological effects on the general public. The resident farmer scenario was chosen as the exposure scenario due to the living characteristics of the public around the facility and the conservatism of the assessment. The RESRAD-OFFSITE code was used to evaluate the radiation dose to the public. The maximum radiation dose to the public was 6.13 × 10-3 mSv/y. Main exposure pathways were aquatic food ingestion, radon inhalation, and meat ingestion. The uranium series accounted for about 99 % of the total radiation dose, while the thorium series and K-40 nuclides accounted for less than 1 %. These study results can be used for management of radiological impact to the public around domestic NORM industries.

  • This study was to know the effects of massage on the back region in order to reduce stress in middle age women. To investigate the effects of massage to the stress levels of middle aged women, we evaluated blood pressure (BP), heart rate variability (HRV), and ultrasonography before and after back massage. The blood pressure after massage was reduced when compared to that of pre-massage. The HRV spectrum analysis was used Frequency domain analysis such as Mean HRV, normalized low frequency (norm LF), norm high frequency (norm HF), and LF/HF ratio. Post-massage BP tended to be low, but not statistical significant. After Massage, the Mean HRV, norm LF, and LF/HF ratio were significantly reduced, while norm HF was significantly increased as compared with pre-massage. The muscle layer and fat layer were significantly diminished by massage. The study was suggested that massage may be an effective treatment for relief of stress.

  • In this paper, we suggest a H center .inf. generalized predictive control(H center GPC) which guarantees $H_{\infty}$-norm bounds. THe suggested control is obtained by solving the min-max problem in nonrecursive forms. The stability conditions of the suggested control are derived in a somewhat simple form and it is not required for the derived solution to be a saddle point solution. It is also shown that the suggested control guarantees the $H_{\infty}$-norm bounds under the same conditions of stability.

  • This paper presents a non-local means (NLM) denoising algorithm based on a new weighting function using a mixed norm. The fidelity of the difference between an anchor patch and the reference patch in the NLM denoising depends on noise level and local activity. This paper introduces a new weighting function based on a mixed norm type of which the order is determined by noise level and local activity of an anchor patch, so that the performance of the NLM denoising can be enhanced. Experimental results demonstrate the objective and subjective capability of the proposed algorithm. In addition, it was verified that the proposed algorithm can be used to improve the performance of the other $l_2$ norm based non-local means denoising algorithms

  • We propose a radial image processing method in a discrete polar coordinate system based on L1-norm. For this purpose, we first verified that the polar coordinate based on L2-norm can not exist in discrete system and then develop a method converting the Cartesian coordinate to the discrete polar coordinate. We apply the proposed method to smooth mass images of breast tissue and to detect the boundaries of extremely deformable objects. Compared to the Gaussian smoothing method performed in the Cartesian coordinate system, the proposed method stabilized the image signal while maintaining the overall radial shape of mass images. The proposed boundary detection method can detect shapes with high precision while conventional edge detectors can not accurately detect the shape of deformable objects. We also exploit the method to perform pupil detection and have had good experimental results.

  • In conventional boolean retrieval systems, document ranking is not supported and similarity coefficients cannot be computed between queries and documents. The MMM(Max and Min Model), Paice and P-norm models have been proposed in the past to support the ranking facility for boolean retrieval systems. They have common properties of interpreting boolean operators softly In this paper we propose a new soft evaluation method for web Information retrieval using local context analysis feedback model. We also show through performance comparison that local contort analysis feedback is more efficient and effective than MMM, Paice and P-norm.
