Purpose: The study proposes extended application of reviewing and developing international quality assurance system for useful and practical quality stabilization of foreign military product. There are several problems with quality assurance activities for foreign military products. To improve theses problems, this study researches measures and effects of entrustment of quality assurance activities to suppliers group abroad by utilizing the system. Methods: In order to carry out the research, consignment system for international quality assurance activity of advanced country has been analysed through this study. By applying the consignment system to the case of foreign military product, the possibility and effects of consignment is researched. Results: Through this study the procedure and substance of the international quality assurance system is verified. The quality assurance activities were consigned to suppliers group by utilizing the system, thus application basis for international quality assurace activities is established. Conclusion: Defense Import through The Quality Assurance System of trade countries using the International Quality Assurance System suggests the solution to endemic problems. The Introduction Military Product with the Quality Assurance System of Korean Government improves the competitiveness of defense export.

Platform standardization is widely used in commercial auto industries and other industries to acquire cost reduction as well as high reliability. This paper reviews some application examples and estimates expected effect of Korean army's platform standardization for combat system and combat support system. Also, military platform standardization based on utilization of commercial vehicles has been studied with the standard vehicles used in Korean army. It is estimated that outstanding results may be achieved if a dual platform, the public and military platforms, is utilized. So, when the strategy of the military transportation system is decided, "dual use" concept is necessary and this could maximize the effect of the military strategy reinforcement.

There are many kinds of military images used in naval combat system because various sensors are operated. The military images are displayed, analysed and stored with analysed informations according to the tactical purpose on combat system. These images are used to target detection, analysis and classification. Thus the analysed information and images must be secured, the information hiding methods are the most eligible solutions to get secured informations and images. In this paper, the hybrid information hiding method based on the characteristics of the military images is proposed and the effectiveness is shown by experiments.

This study shows the badge system for military officials of Joseon dynasty. The badge system for military officials of the 15th century consists of rank badges with tiger and leopard for the first and second ranks and rank badges with bear for the third rank. According to the code of laws, military officials are supposed to wear the rank badges with four different kinds of animals in Joseon dynasty. However, the badge system shown in the code of laws sometimes does not match with the badges in practices. Based on the literature, remaining badges and the badges in portraits, six different kinds of badges with animals are found : First, rank badges with tiger and leopard were used until the late 16th century. Second, rank badges with tiger were found in the period between the early 17th century and the latter 18th century. Third, rank badges with Haechi were found in the early 17th century. Fourth, rank badges with lions can be found in remains of the mid 17th century, the literature and the portrait of the late 18th century. Finally, the rank badges with double leopards or with single leopard were found from a portrait dated the late of 18th century to the last period of Joseon dynasty.

본 연구에서는 공급계약(supply contact)방식의 전환을 통해 군재고의 효율적인 관리를 달성하고자 한다. 이를 위해 현 육군공급계약 시스템과 수량유연성계약 시스템을 시뮬레이션 모델링하고, 4가지 불확실한 수요패턴에 대한 육군 의약품의 재고수준과 재고비용에 미치는 영향을 동적으로 연구한다. 다양한 수요패턴에 대해 수량유연성계약이 군재고 수준과 재고비용을 감소시키는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 입증함으로써 군의 공급계약방식의 새로운 변화를 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 검증작업을 군 재고 시스템을 중심으로 하였으나, 본 연구 과정은 일반 기업 등에서도 충분히 활용가치가 있을 것으로 예상한다.

A synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system can provide all-weather, day and night, superior imaging capability, and thus is very useful in surveillance for military applications. In this paper, a X-band spaceborne SAR system design concept is introduced with the key design parameters for mission and system requirements characterized by small satellite system. The SAR imaging mode design procedure is presented, and the standard imaging mode design results are analyzed as an example. In line with the given mission and system requirements, the X-band SAR payload and ground reception/processing subsystems are designed and presented with the key design results. The designed small satellite SAR system shows the wide range of imaging capability, and proves to be an effective surveillance system in light-weight, high-performance and cost-effective points of view.

Expert systems are in an early evolutionary phase, but it already has significant impacts on business operations. More and more organizations are becoming interested in applying expert systems as solutions to their business problems. This paper describes how systems started, what is their current situation, and what are their application areas. It outlines what is expert system and how to develop an expert system. And it analyzes expert system shells and shows some current available expert system shells. Lastly, it concludes and predicts the main attributes of the future expert systems.

현재 우리 군의 군수품 조달은 육 해 공군이 개별 보급단, 군지사 및 보급창을 중심으로 구성된 물품 조달 체계를 통해 이루어지고 있다. 특히, 납품업체로부터 사용부대까지는 직납의 형태로 배송하고 있어 규모의 경제를 실현하는 데 한계가 있다. 생산원가를 포함한 여러 비용 중 운송비용은 일반관리비용 중 하나로 정의되고, 연 단위 일괄 계약 방식으로 운영된다. 이로 인해 실제 납지 기준의 현실적인 운송비용이 산정될 수 없어 국방 예산 집행의 효율성을 확보하기 어려운 상황이다. 또한, 각 군이 개별적인 조달 체계를 운영하고 있어 유사 시 빠르고 유연하게 대처할 수 없다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국방 수송 분야에 민 군 통합 수송 체계를 구축하여 운영의 효과를 이미 검증한 미군의 DTCI(Defense Transportation Coordination Initiative)를 조직구성과 운영 방식 관점에 벤치마킹하고, 이를 우리 군의 운영 상황에 적합한 민 군 통합 운영 체계 수립을 위한 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 새롭게 제안되는 국방 수송 체계의 효과성을 입증하기 위해 과거 실제 납품 실적을 바탕으로 Hub & Spoke 방식을 적용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하고, 직납 체계와 운송거리 측면에서의 정량적 비교를 수행하였다. 본 연구 결과는 우리 군의 군수품 수송 체계의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있는 전체 계획 수립의 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

This study was designed to help develop an optimized sizing system for the military winter jackets of Korean males. First, we conducted a survey on the supply rate of military winter jackets and the wearing of suitable size jackets in order to identify problems in the current sizing system. We next developed a new sizing system generation method to satisfy the coverage rate and appropriate size number: Hybrid of Grid with Optimization. The findings of this study were: 1. The survey indicated that a 90 (chest girth) size is necessary; in addition, a one-step large size jacket fit well as a right size jacket. 2. We developed three optimized sizing systems for Korean male military winter jackets using the Hybrid of Grid with an optimization method and suggested one of them as a final new sizing system. The new sizing system consisted of two primary dimension: chest girth and stature. It has a 14 size number and its extended coverage rate is larger than the current sizing system and it has a 90 (chest girth) size. It also selected an optimized size for the area of low population density. The new sizing system is therefore considered very effective for Korean male soldiers military winter jackets.

Strategic decision on the execution of national security improvement project is greatly important for the present and future national security. Though, the importance of strategic decision, decision making process has been executed under one-way thinking framework. This research provides a decision-making tool with make-or-buy approach for the national security improvement policy execution methods: foreign purchase and military R&D project, and, via simulation, confirms dynamic change of military capability index respect to change in ratio of foreign purchase and military R&D. A result shows that current ratio of foreign purchases and military R&D is insufficient for national security improvement policy goal. Applying the model from this research provides an appropriate ratio for short term and long term defense strategy and policy goal, and consequent result of increase in national security capability. Thus, this research model can be effectively utilized for national security improvement project.
