  • This study reports the costume changes and the factors of the changes from stone status in joseon dynasty. It can be summarized as follows: First, the artisan for the statues is one of the most important factors for the costume changes. The artisans who were involved in building the King's tomb were also made the stone statues for scholars' tombs. This results in that the style of the King's tomb influenced the costumes of stone statues for scholars' tombs. Some craftsmen who were buddhist monks also influenced the introduction of buddhist arts. Second, the stone statues are classified into 3 types according to the dead's social position: the civil officer statues, the military official statues, and the servant statues are installed for the civil officer, the military officers, and others, respectively. This principle was applied well. However, the civil official statues are mainly installed in late joseon dynasty because the civil officers are socially preferred to the military officers in late joseon dynasty. Third, there are two types of civil officer statues; Gongbok type and jobok type. Civil officer statues of Gongbok type were mainly installed in early joseon dynasty and civil officer statues of jobok type were begun to be installed in the early 16th century. Civil officer statues of Gongbok type were fade out after the late 17th century. Fourth, there are three reasons why civil officer statues of jobok type were installed at the officers's tombs 270 years earlier than at the Kings' tombs: 1) Introduction of Daemyunghoejeon and its application, 2) an establishment of a system that requires to prepare jobok individually, and 3) self-confidence of scholars' class on political and cultural maturity.

  • This paper develops multiple objective manpower planning model in order to design and adjust manpower structure and flow when advance rate for officer's native is considered. The state transition in manpower structure is analyzed using Markov chains. Multiple objectives in the model are security of advance rate, satisfaction of rank's number of personnel, and stability of the number of recruit personnel for officer's native. Trade - off of these objectives is made to evaluate manpower structure and flow. Solutions of this model are obtained by LINGO package.

  • Soldiers management is the core of military combat power to preserve and accident prevention. But in unforeseen times and places did the unthinkable soldier causes an accident, the inexperienced primary officer were upset, and can often be quite nervous. And various accidents prevention is also win the war, the reason for existence in the military for combat readiness as a precondition for perfection. There are primary officers at the forefront of this critical mission. However, in spite of the lack of time to work for combat readiness, orders from higher units of troops management and that's level giving a lot of pressure to primary officer. So I made the primary officer military counseling model ike this. Using Primary officer counseling model is possible to rapid and efficient counseling advice against the target client soldier. The efficient counseling is must take precedence on understanding on client soldier deeply. Depth understanding someone needs a lot of effort and time. However, to Primary officer, it is true that they have a lack of condition that are enough to give the time and effort. Therefore, effective counseling and accident prevention is possible to use counseling model through choice and concentration activities.

  • Decision Analysis(DA) using Value Focused Thinking(VFT) can be an excellent process to deal with hard decisions. The intent of this research is to provide better understanding of the United States Air Force(USAF) officer retention problem. This thesis effort involves building a VFT model to find out more effective alternatives in retaining pilots and non pilots. This model, in conjunction with the results of the post analysis, shows an example of the application of a VFT approach to the USAF officer retention problem.

  • Because Korean military promotes employment support policy which give priority to the middle service officer who served more than 5 but less than 10 years and long term service officer who served more than 10 years, the support policy for obligated involuntary officer is relatively deficient. To make matters worse, national youth unemploy ment makes obligated involuntary officers suffer from serious unemployment crisis after discharge. These problems have bad effect on gaining ROTC KAOCS cadets who constitute about 80% of first appointment officers and because they are mostly discharged after just taking a short service, it's time to find a measure to solve the problem. Thus, this study is investigated to improve competitive rate of entry of ROTC KAOCS for securing outstanding manpower by deducing MR about legislation and system which are related to employment support for obligated involuntary officers and suggesting stable job secure plan for employment support, supplement system, and after discharge, model way of career management during military service of an obligated involuntary officers who are suitable for qualificated men who are needed for a company. Also, it will lead to combat power development of the military consequently.

  • For a large organization such as a military service which can foresee future growths in its manpower requirements, a systematic tool that can provide analysis of its present manpower structure and policies in terms of meeting the future requirements, is in order today. This paper proposes a network model for such a purpose. The ROK Navy officer corps manpower system is studied and formulated as a network model, which may be expressed as a linear programming problem of minimizing total cost. An appropriate cost concept is developed and the out-of-kilter algorithm of Ford and Fulkerson is computer programmed to be used as a solution procedure for this network problem. A case study is conducted with a set of hypothetical data on a possible Navy combat-line specialty manpower problem.
