  • Background: The composition of wild bird populations in temperate zones greatly varies depending on phenological changes rather than other environmental factors. Particularly, wild birds appearing in wetlands fluctuate greatly due to the crossover of species arriving for breeding during the summer and for wintering. Therefore, to understand the changes to species composition related to phenology, we conducted this basic analysis of populations to further the cause of the protection of wetland-dependent wild birds. Methods: It is wrong to simply divide a wild bird population investigation into seasons. This study identifies species composition and indicator species that change along with seasons. Wetlands to be surveyed are protected by natural monuments and wetland inventory and are in a state close to nature. In order to identify as many species as possible in wetlands, a survey was conducted in both shallow and deep wetlands. The water depth varied in these areas, ranging from 0.2 to 2.0 m, allowing for both dabbling and diving ducks to inhabit the area. Surveys were conducted using line-transect and distance sampling methods and were conducted at intervals of 2 weeks. The survey was conducted under the following three categories: the eco-tone and emergent zone, the submergent zone, and the water surface. The survey was conducted along a wetland boundary by observing wild birds. A PC-ord program was used for clustering, and the SAS program was used to analyze the changes in species composition. The data strongly indicates that day length is the main factor for seasonal migration periods, despite the fact that climate change and increasing temperatures are often discussed. Results and conclusions: The indicator species for determining seasons include migrant birds such as Ardea cinerea, Alcedo atthis, Anas penelope, and Poiceps ruficollis, as well as resident birds such as Streptopelia orientalis and Emberiza elegans. Importantly, increases in local individual counts of these species may also serve as indicators. The survey results of seasonal fluctuations in temperate zones shows that spring (April to June), summer (July to September), autumn (October), and winter (November to March) are clearly distinguishable, even though spring and summer seasons tend to overlap, leading to the conclusion that additional research could more clearly identify fluctuation patterns in species composition and abundance in the study area.

  • The heavy metal contents accumulated in the birds organ were analyzed by use of 10 species of birds to investigate the environmental pollution of the birds inhabited in Mt. Chiri. Heavy metal concentrations in bird organs, e.g. muscle, liver, kidney, lung and heart were analyzed for 10 species of the birds. 1. Contents of some heavy metal elements such as Fe, Zn, Cu and Mn were similar level compared with any other district. But contents of some heavy metal elements shch as Pb, Cd and Hg were comparatively lower level than those in any other district. 2. The contents of heavy metal accumulation in the muscle of the bird organs were detected much more from the migrants than the resident birds ; the resident bird, Phasianus colchicus were detected to contain $0.01{\mu}g/g$ og Hg and $0.05{\mu}g/g$ of Cd, but in the migrant bird, Turdus dauma they were detected to contain $0.17{\mu}g/g$ of Hg and $0.08{\mu}g/g$ of Cd. 3. The contents of lead were scarcely detected in the muscle of 10 species of birds, but it was highly detected from the hunting (meat-eating) birds such as Phasianus colchicus ($0.17{\mu}g/g$) and Streptopelia orientalis ($0.11{\mu}g/g$). Generally, the concentration of heavy metals of the analyzed birds was more mercury than Cadmium.

  • Achievement profile by attribute in Korean students' mathematics was analyzed by applying cognitive diagnostic model, which is the newest measurement theory, to 2011 NAEA(National Assessment of Educational Assessment) results. The results are as follows. As the level of school is higher from 6th grade, 9th grade to 11th grade, the percentage of students mastering cognitive attribute 9(expressions using picture, table, graph, formula, symbol, writing, etc) drastically declined from 78%, 35% to 26%. It is necessary to have learning strategies to reinforce their abilities of expressing table, graph, etc. that higher graders in mathematics are more vulnerable to. Next, the property of mastering cognitive attributes according to gender, multi-cultural family was analyzed. In terms of mathematics, the percentage of girls mastering most of the attribute generally is higher than that of boys from 6th grade to 9th grade, however, boys show higher mastery in almost attributes than girls in the 11th grade. Compared to boys, the part where girls have the most trouble is attribute 9 in mathematics(expressions using picture, table, graph, formula, symbol, writing, etc). As international marriage, influx of foreign workers, etc. increase, the number of students from Korea's multi-cultural families is expected to be higher, therefore, identifying the characteristics of their educational achievement is significant in reinforcing Korea's basic achievement. In mathematics, gap of mastery level of attributes between multi-cultural group and ordinary group is more severe in higher grade and the type of multi-cultural group that needs supports for improving achievement most urgently changed in 6th grade, 9th grade and 11th grade respectively. In the 6th and 11th grade, migrant students from North Korea show the lowest level of mastering attributes, however, in the 9th grade, the mastery rate of immigrant students is lowest. Therefore, there is an implication that supporting plans for improving achievement of students from multi-cultural family should establish other strategies based on the characteristics of school level.

  • Purpose - It suggests that making a policy and strategies for a way of Dubai has a strong priority strategy on science and technology by using much oil dollars to prepare risk when oil dollar's decrease. This has been now investigated how the leading innovator has changed the periphery countries. Research design, data, and methodology - Analyze policy, status, what other neighbouring Middle East countries also want to benchmark a successful case of a leading Dubai strategy. Higher manpower is needed absolutely to develop S&T. and etc. Dubai and Arab countries establish university to nurture as well as invite the talented manpower from overseas to recover deficient manpower. Dubai built totally academy city and invited branch of the overseas famous university, and Saudi Arabia built university(KAUST) and invite faculty and support good scholarship for students. Abrab countries especially, This is studied the process of differentiating and integrating the migrant workers of these cities into the globalized cities. This has resulted in large-scale employment for foreign and local companies in these cities and the spread of science and innovation. Results - Dubai supports venture or SMEs by using a strong priority strategy and attracts foreigner's investor, with which the neighbouring countries have been preparing together for 4th wave. It demonstrates that the gravitational model has been activated from neighboring countries of innovation science to create Dubai's hub. The maturity of long-term urban innovation is related to innovation capability through the national response and review. As a result, the flow of skilled international migration has been localized because of the mutual intersection with the local employment structure, and the development has spread as it spreads to neighboring countries. Conclusion - For the exploiting of new Distribution market in the neighbouring countries, Middle East countries' a strong priority strategy on S&T and education system give an influence on economic situation of the 4th wave in the world and world order of leading by USA, Japan, or EU, and etc. This is due to the creation of clusters in the form of SEZs, friendly industrial policies and world-class infrastructure and innovation development. Its neighbours benchmark the cases of distribution of science innovation and centralizes the surrounding people.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the awareness and needs of original inhabitants on urban to rural migration and propose public projects with a consideration of their stance based on the results. To comprehend their awareness and needs on urban to rural migration through their experience related to it, focus group interview was done and three categories were identified as a result, which are 'relative deprivation', 'limitations and difficulties of urban to rural migration', and 'plans for successful settlement'. First, the original inhabitants were discontent towards the government policies related to urban to rural migration and migrant's behaviors seemed to form negative perception on it. Second, financial difficulty and trouble in stable crop cultivation and acquirement of farming techniques were identified as limitations and difficulties of urban to rural migration. Third, the original inhabitants recognized the need of direct communication between original inhabitants and migrants and activation of meetings for exchange of information to positive relationship between the two groups and migrants should have proper attitude and effort to learn the rural culture for interaction and cooperation. Fourth, there's in need for an institution, which serves as a focal point that provides information and support urban to rural migration. Fifth, successful plans for settlements of migrants thought by the original inhabitants were found. Sixth, there's a need for the original inhabitants to play the role of a mentor to the migrants for their settlement and to promote positive relationship between them.

  • There is recent recognition that the approach toward family members is crucial for understanding problems in multi-cultural families by emerging from typical approach focused on migrant women. While researches have reported serious conflicts and adaptation problems from cultural difference between parent-in-law and foreign daughter-in-law, cultural stress of parent-in-law has not been systematically examined. The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a scale to measure acculturation stress of parent-in-law who have a foreign daughter-in-law. The sample consisted of 266 parents-in-law from three provinces of South Korea. Initially, 16 items were generated based on the existing scale of acculturation stress and they are tested by item-analysis through the descriptive and correlational analysis. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted to investigate the factor structure of the scale and a confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the scale. By item-analysis, five items were deleted from initial scale items because of redundancy. Findings from an exploratory factor analysis provided the evidence that the scale consists of three factors which are the perception of prejudice and discrimination, conflicts from different cultural value, and daily discomfort. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for the scale is 0.86. Multiple fit indices from confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the hypothesized three-factor model for acculturation stress achieved a good fit with the data. Results showed the evidence for the reliability and validity of the scale for acculturation stress of the parent-in-law who have foreign daughter-in-law. The scale would have potential effects for assessing psychological stress for parent-in-law in research and clinical practice. Further implications and limitation of the study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

  • This study investigated the factors that influence subjective well-being of immigrant wives in Korea. We initially grouped the factors into 3 categories: personal, domestic, and social. For personal factors, we included couple's age difference, reason for entry, religion, marital duration, employment status, economical status, acculturation to Korean culture, acquisition of Korean language, and ego-resiliency. For domestic factors we included marriage process, reason for marriage, husbands' understanding of wife's native language, husbands' understanding of wife's culture, marital satisfaction, existence of children, head of the household, and parenting efficacy. Finally for social factors, awareness of welfare services and systems, use of public institutions and civil organizations, and participation in social groups were included. We recruited 256 immigrant wives who live in Asan City, Chungnam Province and the data were analyzed by multiple linear regression. The factors that statistically significant were: ego-resiliency, marital duration, acculturation to Korean culture and economic status among personal factors; parenting efficacy, marital satisfaction and marriage process (married without a matchmaker) among domestic factors; participation in self-help group of women from the same mother country, awareness of welfare services and systems, participation in hobby club, and participation in fraternal/religious society among social factors. It is hoped that this paper will yield general insights into subjective well-being of immigrant wives and may help them to develop inner talent and strength.

  • The purpose of this study, regarding the effect of the marriage immigrant women's marriage adaptation living in urban and rural areas on their quality of the life, is to analyze whether there are any differences in the moderating effect of support from spouses and families for different areas of residence. This is in order to serve as the preliminary data for preparing intervention strategies that are suited to different areas of residence, so that the quality of life of marriage immigrant women may be improved. This study is a correlational research that targeted 304 marriage immigrant women living in urban and rural areas (148 in urban areas, 156 in rural areas). The study revealed that the support from spouses and families, marriage adaption, and the quality of life were lower in rural than in urban areas and that support from spouses and families, and marriage adaptation had a significant positive correlation for all areas of residence. Also, there was a moderating effect of support from spouses and families in the effect relationship between marriage adaptation and the quality of life. Also, it appeared that this moderating effect was more important in rural than in urban areas. On the basis of the results of this study, we propose that customized intervention strategies for each area of residence be developed so that regardless of the area, migrant women will be able to lead a marriage well and live a fulfilling life.

  • This research is about how infants' multi-cultural recognition and their sphere of activity can be changed when married immigrant women and infants' homeroom teachers were put together in the infants' multi-cultural teaching program. The subjects(children under 5) were selected in "S" city of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. And they were divided into experimental group 1, experimental group 2, and the control group. And this research did a pretest and post-test for the 60 children. The result of this research can be summarized into three parts. Therefore, it is possible to suggest that the improvement of infants' diversity recognition is affected by a certain kind of teacher and that he/ she can improve the infants' play ability. Experimental group 1 is proceeded by both married immigrant woman and the infants's homeroom teacher. Experimental group 2 was managed by only the homeroom teacher who was going through the same program as the teachers above. The control group was managed by a general nurturing program. This research did do a pretest and post-test for this experiment. -by Chun-Ok. Lee was used for infant's multi-cultural measurement. Mee-sook. Kim's measurement was used for measurement of playfulness between same age children. Meaningful differences was exposed in experimental group 1, experimental group 2, and the control group in sequence. The two experimental groups who had experienced a multi-cultural program seemed to have higher playfulness.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out how sleep characteristics by Sasang constitution (SC) appear in Vietnamese immigrant women in Korea, and how sleep aberration by SC affected the quality of life. The number of 217 Vietnamese immigrant women joined this study. We surveyed SC with Korea Sasang Constitutional Diagnostic Questionnaire (KS-15) and sleep characteristics with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) questionnaire. We evaluated quality of life(QoL) with Euro Quality of Life-5Dimension(EQ 5D) questionnaire. A Chi-square test and a one-way ANOVA test were conducted according to SC, and T test also used to compare PSQI groups. Significant p was .05. The number(rate) of Taeeumin(TE), Soeumin(SE), and Soyangin(SY) were 40(18.4%), 55(25.3%), and 122(56.2%) respectively. The distribution of obstructive factors of sleep were significantly different according to SC(Too Cold in Sleeping, x =13.378, p=.037, Too Hot in Sleeping x2=12.834, p=.046). The distribution of daytime drowsiness(x2=15.379, p=.018) and falling concentration power (x2=17.533, p=.008) was significantly different according to SC. The sleep status of the subjects showed a significant negative correlation with the EQ 5D Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) (r =-.399, p<.001), and the EQ 5D Index (r=-.211, p=.002). In the EQ VAS, TE showed a difference between the good and bad sleeping groups (t=3.955, p<.001). SE showed a difference between the two groups in the EQ 5D Index (t=2.332, p=.037). SY did not show a difference between the two groups. This study reveals that sleeping is closely related with QoL and distribution of obstructive factors of sleep may be different according to SC. Further study to confirm the constitutional difference in race at Vietnam is needed.
