특성화고등학교 진학 결정에 영향을 미치는 중학교 3학년 담임교사 특성 연구 - 대전지역 중심으로 (A study on the characteristics of 3rd grade teachers in charge in middle school affecting their students'decision to enter specialized high school - around the Daejon metropolitan area)

  • 급격한 산업 성장 시기 전문기능·기술인을 양성하던 특성화고등학교가 학령인구의 감소, 노동시장의 인력수요 변화, 기능직에 대한 차별 등으로 인해 입시경쟁에서 밀려난 하위권 학생들이 진학하는 고등학교로 변하였다. 중학생들이 특성화고등학교에 진학을 결정하는데 타인의 영향을 받았을 때 중학교 교사의 영향(23.69%)을 가장 크게 받는다고 선행 연구에서 밝히고 있다. 즉, 중학교 3학년 담임교사들의 조기 진로지도를 통하여 성적이 아니라 적성과 소질에 따라서 특성화고등학교 진학을 결정할 수 있도록 도울 수 있다. 이를 위해 중학교 3학년 담임교사의 일반적인 특성과 인식에 따른 학생의 특성화 고등학교 진학 결정률의 관계를 조사하였으며, 2018년 대전광역시에 있는 중학교 3학년 담임교사를 대상으로 조사 연구를 하였다. 그 결과 담임교사가 남자일 때 21.01%(M=.2101)의 학생들이 특성화고등학교에 진학하는 것으로 나타났으며, 남녀 교사 간에도 학생들의 특성화고 진학률에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 그리고 비사범대 출신(M=.2110), 박사인 경우(M=.3064) 상대적으로 특성화고등학교에 진학을 결정할 확률이 높았다. 교사의 인식에 따라서는 '특성화고등학교 학과에 대한 이해(β1)'와 '고졸 취업에 대한 긍정적 인식(β2)'이 같이 높아질 때 '특성화고등학교 진학 결정(y)'에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 그 설명력은 10.1%이고, 이를 바탕으로 도출한 회귀식은 y = -0.56 + 0.037*β1 + 0.025*β2 10.1%(R2=0.101)이었다.

중·고등학생의 학교급식 인지도 및 만족도 증진을 위한 학생배식도우미제도의 활용 가능성 (Improving Perception and Satisfaction on Middle and High School Foodservice: The Role of Student Participation Program in Serving School Meals)

  • Objectives: We evaluated the extent to which implementation of student participation programs in serving school meals impacts student perception and satisfaction with school foodservice in middle and high school settings. Methods: Students' perception of management and satisfaction with quality attributes of school foodservice were assessed by questionnaire methods and compared by the program implementation status of student participation in serving school meals. Correlation and multiple regression analyses were performed to identify factors affecting perception and satisfaction. Results: The overall mean score for perception regarding the management of school foodservice was low (3.53 out of 10 points) and middle school students showed a higher mean score than high school students (4.10 vs. 2.94 points). In both middle and high schools, student perception was significantly higher in schools implementing the program. The average score for student satisfaction with the quality of school foodservice was 3.50 out of 5 points. Similarly, we observed a significantly higher satisfaction among middle versus high school students (3.93 vs. 3.04 points) and in schools implementing the program versus those that were not. Overall, student participation in serving school meals resulted in increases in satisfaction with school foodservice of 0.269 and 0.466 points among middle and high school students, respectively. Conclusions: Implementation of student participation in serving school meals could be used as a strategy to improve perception and satisfaction of students with their school foodservice. Establishment of guidelines of student serving participation programs encompassing different perspectives from students, dietitians and school faculties are warranted.

국내 일부학교 건축물의 실내공기질 평가 (The Assessment of Survey on the Indoor Air Quality at Schools in Korea)

  • Recently, indoor air quality (IAQ) in workplace, residential environments and schools has been concerned of people, scientists and related the public, and has recognized the health effects related to indoor air pollution. Therefore, this study was performed to investigate the characteristics of IAQ in 55 kindergartens, elementary school, middle schools, and high schools from June, 2004 to May, 2005 in Korea. We measured indoor air pollutants($PM_{10},\;CO_2$, HCHO, total bacteria colony(TBC), CO, radon, TVOCs, asbestos, and $O_3$), and physical factors(noise, temperature, relative humidity, and illumination) with necessary of management for IAQ in school. We classified into 5 kinds of the school by period since building completion, <1 year, 1-3 years, 3-5 years, and 5-10 years. The concentration of pollutants and the level of physical factors compared with standards and guidelines of IAQ on the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development. The major results obtained from this study were as follows. Temperature, relative humidity and illumination among the physical factors did not exceed the standards, but noise exceeded it. Asbestos and $O_3$ did not detect in surveyed classrooms. CO, TBC, TVOCs, and HCHO in kindergartens, TBC in elementary schools, TBC, TVOCs dnd HCHO in middle schools, and HCHO in high schools detected the standards. This study is conducted as a part of efforts to provide a foundational data for further relative researches on management of IAQ of school. Therefore, we suggest that country plan for management of IAQ in school should be established through long-term and continuous investigation for assessment on IAQ in school and health risk assessment for students.

한국의 학교보건정책집행과정평가 연구 -부산직할시를 중심으로- (A Study on the Evaluation of School Health Policy Performance Process of Korea -Focused on the Secondary School in Pusan City-)

  • This study intended to grasp the results of performance of school health policy and to provide information for the future policy performance in Korea. As the objects of the study we chose the secondary school(142 middle schools, 111 high schools) in Pusan, 1993. The contents of the study were about school health service and school health education. For the study we collected datum and took statistics through the existing theses, books, various statistics, and interviews with the persons concerned. Therefore the method of the study was basically emperical and demonstrative. The results of the study can be presented as follows : 1. the results of performance of health service proved to be 5.40% for vaccination against hepatitis B, 5.26% for typhoid fever, 6.65% for EH fever, and 9.84% for influenza in middle schools, In high schools' 5.76% for vaccination against hepatitis B, 0.03% for typhoid fever, 0.25 for EH fever, and 0.86% for influenza. 2. The results of policy performance of health education were found out 64.08% in middle schools, and 17.12% in high schools. 3. The factors which affected the results of performance of health service turned out 1) the improper standard of policy performace that applicants should pay their own expenses. 2) the lack of performer's will to carry out the policy owing to the improper standard. 3) the shortage of interorganizational enforcement activities and communications which influence the will of performance. 4. The affecting factors to the will of performance of health education proved to be 1) the improper standard that nurse-teachers can teach students in the classroom in case of need. 2) the lack of nurse-teachers due to the above inappropriate standard. 3) the lack of enforcement activities of supervising organs which employ and direct nurse-teachers. 4) the lack of activities of organs which should communicate one another and allot nurse-teachers of public schools without fail.

지역사회 유행을 통하여 평가한 홍역 예방접종의 효과 (Evaluation of Measles Vaccine Effectiveness in a Community Outbreak)

  • Objective : From an analysis of a community outbreak of measles in Youngju, Gyeongbuk, in March 2000, the authors evaluated the effectiveness of the measles vaccination and its determinants to Provide an epidemiologic basis for the establishment of a vaccination policy. Methods : Information was collected regarding the vaccinations from the health records of four primary schools and through a questionnaire surrey of the parents of students in two middle and two high schools (N=4638). Measles cases were surveyed from the patient list of each school and from case reports in the public health center. The attack rate and vaccine effectiveness of measles was evaluated by school; grade; frequency, region, and institution of vaccination. Results : The attack rate cf measles, 6.3% among the total subjects, was higher in middle school students (15.8%) than in primary (2.0%, p<0.05) and high school students (8.9%, p<0.05). The attack rate of the unvaccinated group was 4.6-fold higher than the vaccinated group in primary schools (p<0.05). Vaccine effectiveness was 83.2% among lower graders of primary schools, 34.0% among higher graders of primary schools,26.1% in middle schools, and -7.0% in high schools. In multiple logistic regression analysis, grade in school (odds ratio, 0.77; 95% CI=0.67-0.87) and frequency of vaccination (odds ratio, 0.57: 95% CI=0.37-0.58) were significant predictors of the outcome. Conclusions : We concluded that the explosive outbreak of measles in this area resulted from both inadequate vaccination coverage and secondary failure of vaccination. There was no evidence of any effect of the cold chain system on the vaccine failure.

경기도 일부 초·중·고등학교의 바른양치실천 및 양치시설실태 (Survey of proper practice of toothbrushing place in elementary school, middle school and high school in some part of Gyeonggi-Do)

  • Objectives : This study is designed to survey of proper practice of toothbrushing place in elementary school, middle school and high school in some part of Gyeonggi-Do, and will be utilized for toothbrushing place management. Methods : It was randomly selected, 8 elementary schools, 6 middle school and 6 high school in Gyeonggi-do, surveyed whole students. Survey duration was from May 11th to May 20th in 2011. The surveying paper was consisted of questions of general characteristics, right practice of toothbrushing and toothbrushing after lunch etc. It was done under teacher's control. The Data was analyzed with SPSSWIN 18.0. Results : Students did toothbrushing 2 times/day. It wasn't done by Elementary students of 56.3%, middle school students of 68.5%, high school students of 39.3%. It was dominant reason for no brushing that Carrying toothbrush and toothpaste was annoying. When students washed their hands and rinsed their mouth, they used toilet facuet in over than 90% schools. Satisfaction ratio was very low in elementary, middle, high schools. 60% of students wanted to get mouth rinsing place in each school or separately nearby toilet. Conclusions : It was thought by 60% students of elementary, middle, high school that toothbrushing after meals was most important activity. But It was not well done after lunch. When whole student did toothbrushing together, they couldn't use mouthrinsing place comfortablely. There were no keeping places for toothbrushes. So more attention should be payed to make plenty mouthrinsing places and manage them well.

경북지역 수산계 고등학교 학생의 수산업 의식 분석 (An Analysis of Fishery Consciousness for the Fisheries Highschool Teachers in Kyungbuk Province)

  • In this paper, we studied the consciousness of Fisheries high school students Through these kinds of works, this paper will focus on how to activate the Fisheries high school in Kyungbuk province. Primarily, research of the consciousness of people living in the fisheries community of the Kyungbuk coast has been engaged in fisheries. Secondly, research is done the consciousness of Fisheries high school students. Thirdly, research of consciousness of neighboring middle school teachers. Finally, searching for reform measures toward activating Fisheries high schools in the whole country. The conclusions of the study were as follows: First, the proper view of fisheries should be settled again. The understandings of basic knowledge about maritime affairs and fisheries in the stages of elementary schools and middle schools are needed. Secondly, in order to find a way out of the difficulties in fishering villages, governmental financial support has to be presente. from the view of fisher folks who are engaged in the fisheries. Thirdly, larger portions of economic value should be allocated to fisheries villages by improving fisheries structure of the fishery. Actually, lower incomes have burdened fisheries villagers with more debts. Fourthly, academic and care counseling must concentrate on the diversification of courses after graduation from fisheries high schools. Realistically, students of fisheries high schools are longing to enter into universities. Fifthly, reorganization of specialized highschool systems, changes of titles of schools and reconstruction of departments should be steadily carried out. Finally, high morale of fisheries highschool teachers should be revised using various steps. They didn't appear to be proud of their teaching jobs. Supervisors ought to exchange their opinions with teachers for the purpose of development of fisheries high schools.

Salt content of school meals and comparison of perception related to sodium intake in elementary, middle, and high schools

  • Excessive sodium intake leading to hypertension, stroke, and stomach cancer is mainly caused by excess use of salt in cooking. This study was performed to estimate the salt content in school meals and to compare differences in perceptions related to sodium intake between students and staffs working for school meal service. We collected 382 dishes for food from 24 schools (9 elementary, 7 middle, 8 high schools) in Gyeonggi-do and salt content was calculated from salinity and weight of individual food. The average salt content from elementary, middle, and high school meals were 2.44 g, 3.96 g, and 5.87 g, respectively. The amount of salt provided from the school lunch alone was over 80% of the recommended daily salt intake by WHO. Noodles, stews, sauces, and soups were major sources of salt intake at dish group level, while the most salty dishes were sauces, kimchies, and stir-fried foods. Dietary knowledge and attitude related to sodium intake and consumption frequency of the salty dishes were surveyed with questionnaire in 798 students and 256 staffs working for school meal service. Compared with the staffs, the students perceived school meals salty and the proportions of students who thought school meals were salty increased with going up from elementary to high schools (P < 0.001). Among the students, middle and high school students showed significant propensity for the preference to one-dish meal, processed foods, eating much broth and dipping sauce or seasoning compared with the elementary students, although they had higher nutrition knowledge scores. These results proposed that monitoring salt content of school meals and consideration on the contents and education methods in school are needed to lower sodium intake.

과학 교직관과 과학 교사상에 대한 문헌 연구 및 실태 조사 (Study on Perceptions of the Image of Science Teacher and the View of Science Teaching Profession)

  • This research was developed to investigate the apprehension of the ideal image of science teacher and the view of science teaching profession. The samples were drawn from middle/high schools students, university students of colleges of education, science teachers of secondary schools. principals of middle schools and masters of high schools, and professors majoring in science and/or science education. Data were collected through the use of questionaires. The samples responded differently to the Questions depending on their personal needs and professional viewpoints. Very few of the students wanted to be a science teacher in the future. Even the many numbers of college students gave up becoming a science teacher. Furthermore greater portion of science teachers were not satisfied with their profession as science teaching. More findings are described in the paper.

경기도 초·중·고등학교의 식생활 교육 현황 : 학교급 및 영양교사 배치여부에 따른 비교 (Current status of dietary education in elementary, middle and high school in Gyeonggi province: Comparison according to school level and placement of nutrition teacher)

  • 본 연구는 경기도에 위치한 초 중 고등학교 영양(교)사를 대상으로 식생활 교육 현황을 조사하여 식생활 교육수준 향상을 위한 개선방안을 모색하고자 학교급 및 영양교사 배치여부에 따라 비교 분석하였다. 2015년 12월에 경기도 도내 91개 초 중 고등학교의 영양(교)사 91명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 영양교사와 영양사의 비율은 50.5%와 49.5%로 비슷한 수준이었으나 고등학교로 갈수록 영양교사의 배치율은 더 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 2) 정기적으로 식생활 교육을 실시하는 비율은 초 중 고등학교가 각각 58.1%, 24.2%, 20.0%로 학교급에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 영양교사가 배치된 학교는 67.4%, 영양사가 배치된 학교는 11.1%로 학교급 및 영양교사 배치여부에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 3) 연간 평균 수업시간은 평균 $12.4{\pm}20.9$시간이었는데 초등학교는 $19.9{\pm}20.9$시간, 중학교는 $6.1{\pm}16.0$시간, 고등학교는 $5.1{\pm}12.3$시간으로 큰 차이가 있었으며, 평균 수업시간도 고등학교로 갈수록 적었다. 4) 식생활 교육은 창의적 체험활동 시간을 가장 많이 활용하고 있었고, 식생활 교육 관련 체험활동은 요리실습이 가장 많았으며, 다음으로 견학인 것으로 나타났다. 5) 영양(교)사들은 학교급식과 연계한 식생활 교육으로 주로 식단의 영양에 대한 정보 제공을 활용하고 있었으며, 식생활 개선을 위한 교육방법으로 식단안내문을 통한 방법이 효과적일 것이라는 의견이 많았다. 6) 학교급식을 통한 식생활 교육을 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서는 학교 관계자 (교장 교감, 교사 등)와 학부모의 유기적인 협력 체계가 필수적임에도 전반적으로 협조가 미흡하였고 영양교사가 배치되어 있는 학교의 교장 교감, 교사의 협조 정도와 학생의 참여도가 영양사가 배치되어 있는 학교보다 높게 나타나 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 앞으로 식생활 교육이 정규프로그램으로 정착하기 위해서는 영양교사의 배치가 필수적이며, 식생활 교육에 대한 직무 규정과 교육지도안 마련, 정규 수업시간의 배정 등의 제도적 지원을 통하여 식생활 교육이 효과적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 하며, 학교급별로도 교육대상자의 수준을 고려한 식생활 교육이 진행되어야 할 것이다. 또한 향후 학생들의 올바른 식습관 형성에 도움을 줄 수 있도록 학부모 및 교사들에게도 영양상담과 식생활 교육을 받을 수 있는 기회를 제공할 필요가 있으며, 교육방법에 있어서도 강의식 이론 교육보다는 요리실습, 게임 등의 체험형 참여교육이 효과가 높을 것으로 사료된다.
