Environmental Monitoring System for Base Station with Sensor Node Networks

  • A Practical application of environmental monitoring system based on wireless sensor node network with the core of embedded system STR711FR2 microprocessor is presented in the paper. The adaptable and classifiable wireless sensor node network is used to achieve the data acquisition and multi-hop wireless communication of parameters of the monitoring base station environment including repeaters. The structure of the system is proposed and the hardware architecture of the system is designed, and the system operating procedures is proposed. As a result of field test, designed hardware platform operated with 50kbps bit rate and 5MHz channel spacing at 2040Hz. The wireless monitoring system can be managed and swiftly retreated without support of base station environmental monitoring.

  • The conventional analog-based firing circuit can be implemented by comparing a linearly decreasing periodic sawtooth waveform synchronized to the ac line, with a voltage corresponding to the desired converter delay angle. This circuit requires a large number of components (resistance and capacitor) and careful adjustment of the synchronization circuity In this paper a novel firing circuit is proposed for thyristor switch is elements. The proposed circuit is implemented on the basis of the analog cosine method using FPGA and microprocessor.

  • A digital phase-locked loop speed control system of a self-controlled permanent magnet synchronous mortar fed by a voltage source inverter is presented. This paper discribes the hardware and software design of the system. Variable speed control system for self-controlled permanent magnet synchronous motor is proposed. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of proposed methods. This proposed control technique is implemented by using a microprocessor-based system.

  • The PWM inverter investigated in this paper utilizes a bridge type current sharing reactor circuit with tow pairs of complementary transistor at each phase. The driving signals for this inverter are 3 level PWM waves of W type an M type modulation, which are obtained from a microprocessor based on the switching time data obtained by switching position calculation of triangular and sine modulation wave. The output voltage waveforms of this inverter have 5 level phase voltage and 9 level line voltage of PWM. The harmonics of the output voltage are reduced to half when it is compared with single CTI, and the occurrence of harmonics is also reduced.

  • Because the digital control includes microprocessor different from an analog control, the digital control enables to monitor internal parameters of DC-DC converter and to control output voltage remotely by communicating with a Window based PC and also to monitor whether exact voltage is output or not. These things are impossible in an analog control. In this paper, a simple buck converter controlled by DSP is implemented. This converter outputs 0V to 5V from 15V input voltage and is controlled by a PD algorithm using DSP(TMS320C31). Finally the response characteristics of a step reference voltage and a digital controlled converter are analyzed to verify the usefulness of this converter.

  • In this paper, the measurement algorithm of PCB alignment error is developed using image processing. The X-Y-$\theta$ table correcting PCB alignment error is driven by drive module based on microprocessor according to calculation results obtained through image processing procedure. In order to recognize the X-Y-$\theta$ position errors, two fiducial points are marked on PCB and two cameras of ultraviolet rays types are used for detection of the points to capture exactly fiducial points under disturbance of illumination change. Through application for a practical screen printer, the precision control using the developed position control system can be realized about 2.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in table moving range and 8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in camera processing precision.

  • We proposed the above-knee prosthesis using rotary MR damper in which knee joint is semi-actively controlled by microprocessor. Dissipation torque in the knee joint can be controlled by the magnetic field which is induced by applying current to a solenoid, Tracking control of knee joint angle was tested by 3-DOF Leg simulator. The experimental results show that the proposed above-knee prosthesis system had good performance in swing phase tracking and repetitive controller in conjunction with a computed control law and PD control law, reduced RMS tracking error as the repetitions of tracking. Moreover, desired knee angle trajectory was generated based on the estimation of gait period with the gyro signal and the tracking control was performed.

  • In this study, an experiments and numerical simulation of a three chamber pneumatic cylinder for an intelligent AK-knee prosthesis is performed. The cylinder has a variable orifice which can be controlled automatically through a microprocessor controller as needed while amputee gaits. In the experiment, the cylinder was driven by a cam whose trajectory of simulates the normal gait and axial forces of cylinder with different of orifice opening was measured. The numerical simulations was based on thermodynamic and fluid mechanical consideration. The experimental results and the numerical results were in good agreement.

  • This paper describes a multi-computer system developed for CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system, which combines single board computers and personal computers by using RS422/485 communication and LAN. The system adopts a concept of hot run back up system based on dual CUP system of host and supervisor structure. The dual CPU system and the single board computer are respectively developed using 32 bits microcomputer and 16 bits microprocessor. 8097BH. The multi communication between two types of system is done by using RS 422/485, and also data logging computers are linked with LAN.
