Development an embedded module for nondirectional wave spectrum analysis

  • This embedded module measures significant wave height and zero crossing periods through spectral energy from a record of time series heave motion. An ARM7TDMI core microcontroller serves as the main control unit which performs the appropriate control and signal conditioning. Monitored wave characteristic is transmitted with satellite modem. Mathematical equations on signal conditioning and experiments procedures are documented in this paper.

  • In this paper, development of portable power interrupt tester to evaluate microprocessor based control circuits for an endurance under abnormal power source. 89C2051 micro-controller is performed to make power interrupt signal, and software controls peripheral hardwares and built-in functions. Experimental results of this study will offer a good application to electronic appliance maker as a test device of hardware and software debugging use.

  • 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 네트워크간의 다양한 프로토콜과 이종의 트래픽을 동시에 처리할 수 있는 네트워크용 SoC (System-on-a-Chip) 프로세서를 구현하였다. 제작된 네트워크 SoC 프로세서는 ARM 프로세서 코어와 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) 블록, 10/100 Mbps 이더넷 볼록, 스케쥴러, UART 등을 이용하였고 각 블록은 AM8A (Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture) 버스로 연결하였다. SoC 프로세서는 CADENCE사의 VerilogHDL을 이용하여 설계하였고 0.35$\mu\textrm{m}$ 셀 라이브러리를 이용하여 검증하였다. 구현된 칩은 총 게이트수가 312,000개이며 칠의 최대 동작 주파수는 50MHz 이다.

  • 최근 원격에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 서비스 산업 분야에도 원격이 개발되고 있다. 그 중에서 요식업 분야는 원격이 적용되기에 최적의 분야이다. 본 논문에서는 AVR을 활용하여 원격 주문 시스템을 개발 한 것이다. 이 시스템은 서비스 제공자와 서비스 이용자 모두에게 서비스의 질적 향상을 가져다 줄 것이다. 따라서 AVR을 활용한 원격 주문 시스템의 개발은 요식업 분야에서 원격으로 서비스를 제공한다는 측면에서 발전 가능성이 있다고 본다.

  • 본 논문에서는 마이크로컨트롤러에서 6축 IMU 센서를 사용한 제스쳐를 인식하기 위한 최적화된 학습 방법을 제안한다. 6축 센서값을 119번 샘플링할 경우 특징 차원이 매우 크기 때문에 다층 신경망을 이용할 경우 학습파라미터가 마이크로컨트롤러의 메모리 허용량을 초과하게 된다. 본 논문은 성능은 유지하며 학습 파라미터 개수를 효과적으로 줄이기 위한 마이크로컨트롤러에 최적화된 1D CNN을 제안한다.

A Study on the Tele-Controller System of Navigational Aids Using CDMA Communication (CDMA 통신을 이용한 항로표지의 원격관리시스템에 관한 연구)

  • CDMA tele-Controller system is designed with a low power consumption 8 bit microcontroller, ATmega 2560. ATmega 2560 microcontroller consists of 4 UART (Universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter) ports, 4 kbytes EEPROM, 256 kbytes flash memory, 4 kbytes SRAM. 4 URAT is used for CDMA modem, communication for GPS module, EEPROM is used for saving a configuration for program running, a flash memory of 256 kbytes is used for storing a F/W(Firm Ware), and SRAM is used for stack, storing memory of global variables while program running. We have tested the communication distance between the coast station and sea by the fabricated control board using 800 MHz CDMA modem and GPS module, which is building for the navigational aid management system by remote control. As a results, the receiving signal strength is above -80 dBm, and then the characteristics of the control board implemented more than 10 km in the distance of the communication.

  • The Mu-communication board supported by hybrid communication is designed with Cortex M3, which is a low power energy consumption 32-bit microcontroller. The Cortex M3 microcontroller has UART(Universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter) ports which can set appropriately using the command line interpreter (CLI) program with each port. URAT ports are used for hybrid communication modems, GPS modules, etc. When the socket type was compared with the short message service type, the socket type was proven to be better. By improving the receiving performance in the control and management system of the AtoN, data loss was minimized. During the testing of the socket and SMS, data was collected from each buoy for 12 hours every 1 minute and the receiving rate of the data was found to be more than 98.58 % and 99.42 % respectively.

  • This paper presents the design and development of network for housing estate security system. The system can cover up to 961 houses which can be up to 1,200 meters long transfer rate of 9,600 bps. This system uses checking and warning the abnormal situation. More over this system has ability to control switch on/off the electrical equipment in the house via AC line control system. The system consists of 4 parts. The first part is a security system of each house using MCS-51 microcontroller as a central processing unit scan 32 sensors and control 8 appliances and send alarm. The MCS-51 microcontroller received control signal via telephone used DTMF circuit. The second part is distributed two levels master/slave network implementing after RS-485 serial communication standard. The protocol its base on the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) 7 layers protocol model design focus on speed, reliability and security of data that is transferred. The network security using encrypt by DES algorithm, message sequence, time stamp checking and authentication system when user to access and when connect new device to this system. Flow control in system is Poll/Select and Stop-and-Wait method. The third part is central server that using microcomputer which its main function are storing event data into database and can check history event. The final part is internet system which users can access their own homes via the Internet. This web service is based on a combination of SOAP, HTTP and TCP/IP protocols. Messages are exchanged using XML format [6]. In order to save the number of IP address, the system uses 1 IP address for the whole village in which all homes and appliance in this village are addressed using internal identification numbers. This proposed system gives the data transfer accuracy over 99.8% and maximum polling time is 1,120 ms.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a current variation control system appropriate to the various LED(Light Emitting Diode) lamps using current control system equipped with microcontroller based voltage regulator of power driving circuit. For this, we will suggest a stable control system of current variation to enable a stable power-supply and current-control, consisting of circuit to minimize the affects on the LED forward voltage using variable resistance and compensating resistance. The method of constant current circuit and energy savings using microcontroller based voltage regulator suggested in this study can be applied to various a big capacity LED lamp to minimize the unnecessay heat generation and to control resistace delicately. Ultimately, we expect the results of this study will upgrade the reliability of LED lamp by supplying the current stably.

  • In this paper, we consider a cascaded type of control architecture for a multi motor-based feedback control system and propose an ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) resource allocation method to efficiently utilize the limited ADC resources. The purpose of the resource allocation method is to minimize both the motor position measurement error and the d-q current measurement error. The cascaded type of control architecture is applied in parallel to each motor to independently control the speed of a motor in the multi motor control system. All the control algorithms are implemented by software using a single microcontroller without using additional microcontrollers. It is illustrated by experiments that the speed and the torque of each motor are controlled precisely by the proposed control architecture with the efficient ADC allocation method.
