초소형 광 픽업용 하이브리드 렌즈의 능동 정렬 및 성능평가 (Active Alignment and Performance Evaluation of Micro Hybrid Lens for Small Form Factor Optical Pickup)

  • The next generation of optical storage systems requires higher numerical aperture(NA) objective lenses and shorter wavelength laser in order to improve the unit areal density. A blu-ray technology satisfies a miniaturization and a high capacity which are the requirements of the portable device. In this paper, we analyze the optical performance of hybrid micro lens and do active alignment. The hybrid micro lens is manufactured by using a wafer based fabrication technology. Optical components of hybrid micro lens are evaluated. The measurement of the optical power, the spot size and the wavefront error are performed to evaluate the hybrid micro lens with NA 0.85. Using the measured data, we estimate if the performance of hybrid micro lens corresponds to the designed performance. After the performance of hybrid micro lens is evaluated. the integrated optical pickup and the hybrid micro lens are assembled by active alignment using UV curing and the optical performance of SFFOP is satisfied with BD specifications.

  • The Magnetorheological fluid has the properties that its viscosity has drastic changed under some magnetic fields therefore, Magnetorheological fluids has been used for micro polishing of the micro part( for example, a aspherical surface in a micro lens). The polishing process may appears as follows. A part rotating on the spindle is brought into contact with an Magnetorheological finishing(MRF) fluids which is set in motion by the moving wall. In the region where the part and the MRF fluid ate brought into contact, the applied magnetic field creates the conditions necessary for the material removal from the part surface. The material removal takes place in a certain region contacting the surface of the part which can be called the polishing spot or zone. The polishing mechanism of the material removal in the contact zone is considered as a process governed by the particularities of the Bingham flow in the contact zone. Resonable calculated and experimental magnitudes of the material removal rate for glass polishing lends support the validity of the approach.

  • Recently UV laser is widely used to process micro parts using various materials such as polymers, metals and ceramics because it has a very high intensity at the focused spot area. It is generally known that there are still some difficulties for alumina($Al_2O_3$) ceramics to directly make micro patterns like holes and lines on the surface of working material using 355nm UV laser because the alumina has a very low absorption coefficient at that wavelength. But nowadays new alumna with nano-porous holes is developed and applied to advanced micro functional parts of IT, BT and BT industries. In this paper, we are going to show the mechanism of photo-thermal ablation for nano-porous ceramics. Inside hole there is a lot of multiple reflections along the depth of hole. Experimentally we can find the micro hole drilling and micro grooving on the surface of nano-porous alumina.

  • If the Photovoltaic(PV) Module should get physical load, the PV module will be warped according to elongation of the front glass and then micro-crack will be occurred in the heat sealed Solar Cell. This micro-crack drops output of the short circuit current and the open circuit voltage of the PV Module. This is because of increase of resistance component by micro-crack. Micro-crack at specific Solar Cell in the module reduces the durability of PV Module such as less output, Hot-Spot in the PV module caused by Solar Cell output mismatch, heat generating as resistance component caused by micro-crack. In this study, among some factors which effect to the output of crystalline PV Module, we will see how the micro-crack caused by mechanical stress effects to the electrical output of PV Module.

  • In this study, we have developed a new UV$({\lambda}=355nm)$ laser micromachining technology by direct ablation method without masks. This technology allows that 3D micro parts can be fabricated rapidly and efficiently with a low price. And it has a benefit of reducing fabricating process simply. Due to micro parts' fabrication, such technologies need the control of XYZ stages with high precision, the design of optical devices to maintain micron spot sizes of laser beam and the control technology of laser focus. The developed laser manufacturing process for laser micromachining is that, after extracting coordinates of shape data from CAD model data, a beam path considering manufacturing features of laser beam is created by using genetic algorithm. This generated manufacturing process is sent to stage controller. In order to improve the surface quality of micro parts, we have carried out experiments on iteration manufacturing and beam step-over by using a minimum focus size. Moreover, we have fabricated a micro-channel through the developed laser micromachining technology and verified it through the results.

  • In this paper, an embedded micro processor based resistance spot welding controller is introduced which has been recently developed by Hyosung Co. Ltd. The performance of rapid and constant high current control is tested experimentally. This paper shows configurations of measuring system for high current and realtime RMS conversion techniques of sampled discrete data. A digital proportional control is adopted for this system and the result shows that this new product is working well at wide range of welding current and the performance is improved compared with some other commercially available controllers that are widely used in our industries. User friendly MMI system and a computer network system to monitor each welding processes are also presented.

비파괴 계장화 압입시험을 이용한 저항 점용접부 물성 평가 (Evaluation of Mechanical Properties by Using Instrumented Indentation Testing for Resistance Spot Welds)

  • Nondestructive instrumented indentation test is the method to evaluate the mechanical properties by analyzing load - displacement curve when forming indentation on the surface of the specimen within hundreds of micro-indentation depth. Resistance spot welded samples are known to difficult to measure the local mechanical properties due to the combination of microstructural changes with heat input. Particularly, more difficulties arise to evaluate local mechanical properties of resistance spot welds because of having narrow HAZ, as well as dramatic changed in microstructure and hardness properties across the welds. In this study, evaluation of the local mechanical properties of resistance spot welds was carried out using the characterization of Instrumented Indentation testing. Resistance spot welding were performed for 590MPa DP (Dual Phase) steels and 780MPa TRIP (Transformation Induced Plasticity) steels following ISO 18278-2 condition. Mechanical properties of base metal using tensile test and Instrumented Indentation test showed similar results. Also it is possible to measure local mechanical properties of the center of fusion zone, edge of fusion zone, HAZ and base metal regions by using instrumented indentation test. Therefore, measurement of local mechanical properties using instrumented indentation test is efficient, reliable and relatively simple technique to evaluate the tensile strength, yield strength and hardening exponent.

미소면적 광학이방성 정밀 측정을 위한 수직반사형 타원계의 광소자 편광특성 및 측정정밀도 향상 연구 (Study on Polarization Characteristics of Optical Device and Improvement of Measurement Precision of Normal Incidence Ellipsometer for Measuring Optical Anisotropy of a Micro Spot)

  • 기존의 반사형 타원계에 광분할기와 프리즘 등의 광학소자를 추가하여 $8.0{\mu}m$ 보다 작은 면적에서 시료의 광학이방성을 측정할 수 있는 수직반사형 타원계를 제작하였다. 수직반사 구조를 구현하기 위해 사용된 광학소자들의 편광작용을 보정하여 광학이방성 측정의 정확도를 향상시켰다. 비편광 광분할기를 사용하고 사분파장 위상지연자를 장착하며 광섬유를 제거하고 파장영역을 최적화하여 광학이방성인자 측정값의 표준편차를 0.00083 으로 줄이고 방위각 변화에 따른 rutile 시료의 광학이방성인자의 변동폭을 0.015 이하로 줄일 수 있었다.
