Inflow or outflow from the water treatment plant and the sewage water has potential energy. If this potential energy can be converted into electrical energy by water turbine generator, it can help to save energy because of the high capacity utilization. So recently, micro hydro power plant is reviewed in the water treatment facility. If generation capacity is low, induction generator is primarily used. If output capacity is low, generated power is supplied to the inside load. Induction generator can cause voltage drop by the inrush current at a start-up and requires reactive power for magnetization. In this study, we analyzed the flow of power and voltage variation against inrush current that occurs when the induction generator starts under the terms that loads of linear and non-linear of the water purification plant are used. Analysis results are that the voltage drop is within an allowable range and the power factor is slightly reduced by the need of reactive power.

This paper describes the design and analysis of AlN piezoelectric micro generator. The generator was designed to convert ambient vibration energy to electrical power as a AlN piezoelectric material compatible with integataion process. From the simulation results, the resonance frequency of designed model is about 360 Hz and analyzed the bending mode, displacement and expectation output.
We have designed and fabricated coil structures by gold electroplating technique. The thickness, width, and length are $7{\mu}m,\;20{\mu}m$, and 1.6m, respectively. With vibrating a magnet on the surface of a fabricated electroplated coil, the micro power generator produce an alternating voltage. We have changed the vibrational frequency from 0.5Hz to 8Hz. The generated voltage was 106mV at 3Hz and 198mV at 6Hz. We have rectified and stepped up the input voltage using a quadrupler circuit. After using the step up circuit, the measured voltage was 81mV at 3Hz and 235mV at 6Hz.

Recent developments of small-size unmanned or manned mobile systems such as autonomous robots, exoskeleton or armored suits, micro air vehicles, and unmanned armored vehicles require long-lasting independent power sources of high energy and power density to support the systems' operation for up to 72 hours in the fields. Chemical batteries such as Ni-MH, Li-Ion, the current primary power sources for mobile devices, however, are not capable of providing enough power and energy density for the next generation high power mobile machines. For this reason, KIMM along with KERI and KIMS has been carrying out a 500W MTG development project under the DAPA's "Next generation military power source R&D program" since 2009. In this paper, a design process for a 500W MTG system currently being developed at KIMM is briefly described and the technical issues related to its development are addressed.
Supplying power to microsystems that have no physical connection to the outside is difficult, and using batteries is not always appropriate. This paper discusses how to generate electricity from mechanical energy when vibrated in a cantilever beam. A model for the system predicts that the output power of the system is maximized when the mechanical damping in the system is minimized. Furthermore, to cover a wide frequency range and to be useful in a number of applications, a system of beams with different resonant frequencies has been designed and optimized. This information makes it possible to determine what design alternatives are feasible for the creation of a micro power supply for any specific application of MEMS.
This paper proposes a low-cost power converter for micro wind turbine systems using permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG). The proposed converter consists of a two-leg three-phase PWM inverter for the generator control and a single-phase half-bridge PWM converter which is connected to the utility grid. For the two separate DC-link voltages, a balancing control is added and the adverse effect of the DC-link voltage ripples on the inverter output voltage is compensated. The control performance of the proposed converter topology for the micro wind turbine system is shown by the simulation results using PSIM software.

This study proposes a simply fabricated micro stator for higher output power than previously reported micro stators. The stator has been fabricated by inserting enamel coil in silicon mold formed by micro etching process. The most merits of the proposed micro stator are the simple fabrication process and high output power. Previously reported micro stators have high resistance because the micro coil is fabricated by relatively thin-film-based deposition process such as sputtering and electroplating. In addition, the previously reported micro coil has many electrical contact points for forming the coil structure. These characteristics of the micro stator can lead to low performance in output power. However, the proposed micro stator adopts commercially available enamel coil without any contact point. Therefore, the enamel coil of the proposed micro stator has low junction resistance due to the good electrical quality compared with the deposited or electroplated metal coil. Power generation tests were performed and the fabricated stator can produce 5.4 mW in 4000 RPM, $1{\Omega}$ and 0.3 mm gap. The proposed micro stator can produce larger output power than the previously reported stator spite of low RPM and the larger gap between the permanent magnet and the stator.

This paper presents a renewable energy configuration plan of Micro grid in Gapa Island. To analyze the characteristics of Micro grid, BESS (Battery Energy Storage System), PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) and SCIG (Squirrel Cage Induction Generator) are first modelled. The PMSG and SCIG will operate with basis on the real power curve. when the total power demand is larger than the total power generation, the BESS will be operated and the SOC (State Of Charge) is reduced. If the value of SOC could drop down to limited value, the system may be broken because of the voltage drop of BESS. To solve this problem, a DG (Diesel Generator) is used to charge the BESS and keep the voltage value of BESS with in a allowance limit. This paper represents simulation result when PMSG, SCIG connected to the Micro grid installed in Gapa Island. The simulation is carry out by using PSCAD/EMTDC program with actual line constant and transformer parameter in Gapa Island.
A 16-bit adiabatic datapath for micro-power RISC processor is designed. The datapath is composed of a 3-read and 1-write multi-port adiabatic register file and an arithmetic and logic unit. A four-phase clock generator is also designed to provide supply clocks fer adiabatic circuits and the driving capability control scheme is proposed. All the clock line charge on the capacitive interconnections is recovered to recycle energy. Adiabatic circuits are designed based on efficient charge recovery logic(ECRL) and are implemented using a 0.35 fm CMOS technology. Functional and energy simulation is carried out to show the feasibility of adiabatic datapath. Simulation results show that the power consumption of the adiabatic datapath including supply clock generator is reduced by a factor of 1.4∼1.5 compared to that of the conventional CMOS.

The Roordynamic feasibility of Micro Power System supported by air foil bearings is investigated. The Micro Power System is new portable power source based on brayton cycle, which consists of compressor, turbine, generator, and combustion chamber. In this paper, the analysis of Rotordynamic characteristics of Micro Power System is performed based upon the bearing equilibrium position, Campbell diagram and stability. As a result, it is demonstrated that the air foil bearings could be adopted well to the Micro Power System. However, for more stable operation at target running speed, the damping characteristics of air foil bearing should be enhanced.
