금속 3D 프린팅 소재와 폴리머 레이저접합에 관한 연구 (A Study on Laser Welding for 3D Printed Metal Plate and Polymer)

  • A 3D printed metal part and thermal plastic polymer part were joined by direct laser irradiation. The 3D metal part was fabricated by using DED(Direct Energy Deposition) with STS316 material. The experiment was carried out through no patterned metal surface, 3D metal printed surface and micro laser patterned surface. The most secure joining quality was obtained at the laser micro patterned surface specimen and the counterparts of polymers were PLA and PE based thermo plastics. The applied laser power was 350Watt and the distance of patterns was maintained at $150{\mu}m$. The laser line width was optimized at $450{\mu}m$ and the laser micro pattern depth was $180{\mu}m$ for the best joining quality. Based on the result analysis, the possibility of laser material joining for metal to polymer was proposed and multi-material joining will be possible in 3D laser direct material fabrication.

  • Micro-injection molding and microfluidic devices with the help of MEMS technologies including the LIGA process are expected to play important roles in micro-system industries, in particular the bio-application industry, in the near future. Understanding fluid flows in micro-channels is important since micro-channels are typical geometry in various microfluidic devices and mold inserts for micro-injection molding. In the present study, Part 1, an experimental investigation has been carried out to understand the detailed flow phenomena in micro-channel filling process. Three sets of micro-channels of different thickness (40um,30um and 2011m) were fabricated using SU-8 on silicon wafer substrate. And a flow visualization system was developed to observe the filling flow into the micro-channels. Experimental flow observations are extensively made to find the effects of pressure, inertia force, viscous force and surface tension. A dimensional analysis for experimental results was carried out and several relationships A dimensionless parameters are obtained.

  • This paper presents a micro-computer simulation package for the various vibratory systems. The Package consists of 10 programs which describe the dynamical characteristics of the vibratory system. The programs have been written in BASIC (Appoesoft) language and programmed on the 6502 CPU with 48 KRAM. This simulation package is stored in 5 $^1/_4$ inch floppy disk. The user requires no simulation expertise on the part of designer. Through a process of disk operation, the user can easily under- stand how to use this package.

고인성 비조질강 샤시부품 개발 (Development of Chassis Parts Using High Toughness Micro-alloyed Steel)

  • This paper developed the chassis part as micro-alloyed steel with high toughness. The performance of micro-alloy steels are superior to similar heat treated steels. The strengthening effects of vanadium make micro-alloyed steels particularly suited for high-strength-steel applications. The disadvantages are that ductility and toughness are not as good as quenched and tempered (Q&T) steels. Precipitation hardening increases strength but may contribute to brittleness. Toughness can be improved by reducing carbon content and titanium additions. dispersed titanium nitrides (TiN) formed by titanium additions effectively prevents grain coarsening. Grain refinement increases strength but also improves toughness. For the chassis parts using high toughness micro-alloy steel, it had proven superior to a plain steel forging by static strength test and endurance test.

  • In this study, micro electrochemical machining method was introduced for accomplishment the fabrication technology of functional parts and smart structures using the Ni-Ti shape memory alloy. From the experimental result, the micro part which has very fine surface could be achieved by use of micro electrochemical process with point electrode method. Concretely, the optimal performance of micro electrochemical process in Ni-Ti SMA was obtained at the condition of approximately 100% of current efficiency and high frequency pulse current. That is, much finer surface integrity and shape memory effect can be obtained at the same condition mentioned above.

  • The purpose of this study is to design a disturbance observer for a micro-stepping stage to eliminate the disturbances from cables, friction, mass unbalance of the moving part, etc. The disturbance observer is designed for air-floating X-Y precision micro-stepping X-Y stage which widely used in stepper machine or semiconductor manufacturing systems. The micro-stepping X-Y stage has a weak point of the variation of characteristics with position locations, which caused by various disturbances. In this study, it will be described that a simple and high throughput disturbance observer algorithm improves the dynamic error and settling time of the micro-stepping stage.

MR유체를 이용한 미세 채널구조물의 표면연마 (Surface polishing of Micro channel using Magneto-Rheological fluid)

  • Magneto-rheological polishing is a new technology used in precision polishing. It utilizes magneto-rheological fluid. nonmagnetic polishing abrasive, aqueous carrier fluids in magnetic field to remove material from a part surface. Silicon micro channel as work piece is fixed in the slurry which is made of MR fluid and CeO$_2$(10 vol%) abrasive particles. And permanent magnet rotate in the slurry to transfers magnetic force to abrasive particles by increasing yield strength of MR fluid. so, the obtained bottom surface roughness of micro channel by experiment reduced to Ra 0.010 $\mu\textrm{m}$ Rmax 0.103 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and finwall surface roughness of micro channel reduced to Ra 0.018 $\mu\textrm{m}$ Rmax 0.468 $\mu\textrm{m}$. At optimum conditions of variables, the workpiece as silicon micro channel have about 24 times smaller surface roughness than before polishing.

  • The complex three-dimensional miniature components are needed for a wide range of applications from the aerospace to the biomedical industries. To manufacture these products, micro machining that can make a high aspect ratio part and has good accuracy is widely researched. In this paper, cutting characteristics were analyzed in micro machining using cutting force coefficients, which are the specific cutting force for normal and frictional direction of rake surface. From measured cutting force in micro end milling, cutting condition independent cutting force coefficients were determined and used for analysing the characteristics of micro cutting.   • The micro-alloying forging steels have been developed to save energy consumption during forging and subsequent heat treatment stages. The work hardening ability of micro-alloying forging steels is one of major hardening component while it gives severe die damage if the forging process design is poorly set up on the other hand. In the present study, it was tried to characterize three types of micro-alloying forging steels to understand the differences with the conventional low carbon steels used fur cold forging with a spherodizing heat treatment. After forging of a certain forging part with both micro-alloying forging steels and conventional low carbon steel, several mechanical tests were carried out.

마이크로 채널내부 미세 협착 부위의 유동특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Flow Characteristics in a Micro-stenosis Inside a Microchannel)

  • Flow characteristics of DI water in a microchannel with a stenosis were investigated using .a micro PIV system with varying flow rate. The width and depth of the PDMS micro-channel were $100{\mu}m\;and\;50{\mu}m$, respectively. To Investigate flow characteristics in the micro-stenosis, the same experiment was carried out in a straight microchannel under the same flow rate. The measured mean velocity fields were almost symmetric with respect to the channel centerline. The experimental results are well agreed with the theoretical Hagen-Poiseuille profile. In the contraction part of the micro-stenosis, the oncoming flow is accelerated rapidly and the maximum velocity occurs at the throat, almost 4.99 time faster than that without the stenosis.
