A2/O 공법을 이용한 소규모 하수처리시스템의 몽골 현지 적용에 관한 연구 (Application Study of small-scale sewage treatment system with A2/O precess in Mongolia)

  • The small-scale sewage treatement system with $A^2/O$ process was applied to evaluate applicability for Mongolian sewage, It was designed to have 10 m3/d flowrate and installed in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. During over 6month operation BOD, COD, TN, TP removal efficiency were measured and operation condition was optimized. In addition, MLSS concentration its internal circulation rate and DO were adjusted properly. BOD, COD showed average 88 perecent of removal and TN and TP achieved 81 percent and 88 percent removal efficency, respectively. Maxium influent concentration of BOD, COD, TN and TP was 214 mg/L, 300 mg/L, 24.3 mg/L and 5 mg/L respectively, which were decreased to 4.1 mg/L, 5.6 mg/L, 1.3 mg/L and 0.15 mg/L by the test system. This study show possibility tham small-scale sewage treatment system could be a useful system for scattered sewage wastewater treatment.

Novel Silver(I) Ion Selective PVC Membrane Electrode Based on the Schiff Base (N2E,N2'E)-N2,N2'-Bis(Thiophen-2-ylmethylene)-1,1'-Binaphthyl-2,2'-Diamine

  • A potentiometric sensor based on the Schiff base $(N^2E,N^{2'}E)-N^2,N^{2'}$-bis(thiophen-2-ylmethylene)-1,1'-binaphthl-2,2'-diamine has been synthesized and explored as an ionophore PVC-based membrane sensor selective for the silver ($Ag^+$) ion. Potentiometric investigations indicate a high affinity of this receptor for the silver ion. Seven membranes have been fabricated with different compositions, with the best performance shown by the membrane with an ionophore composition (w/w) of: 1.0 mg, PVC: 33.0 mg, DOA: 66.0 mg in 1.0 mL THF. The sensor worked well within a wide concentration range of $1.0{\times}10^{-2}$ to $1.0{\times}10^{-7}$ M, at pH 5, at room temperature (slope 57.4 mV/dec.), and with a rapid response time of 9 s; the sensor also showed good selectivity towards the silver ion over a huge number of interfering cations, with the highest selectivity coefficient for $Hg^{2+}$ at -3.7. Thus far, the best lower detection limit was $4.0{\times}10^{-8}$ M.

Biodegradation of Evercion Blue P-GR and Ostazin Black H-GRN in synthetic textile wastewater by membrane bioreactor system using Trametes versicolor

  • In this study, the decolorization of Evercion Blue P-GR (EBP) and Ostazin Black H-GRN (OBH) was investigated using white-rot fungi named as Trametes versicolor (T. versicolor) by Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) system. This study involved experiments employing synthetic textile wastewater in Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) system (170 ml), initially inoculated with a pure culture of fungi, but operated, other than controlling pH (4.5±0.2) and temperature (25±1℃), under non-sterile conditions. The effect of dye concentrations on fungal biodegradation was also investigated. The decolorization efficiencies were 98%, 90%, and 87% respectively, for EBP when the initial dye concentration of 50, 100, and 200 mg L-1 were used. However, the decolorization percentages for OBH dye were obtained 95% for 50 mg L-1 dye solution in 2 days and 66% for 100 mg L-1 dye solution in 5 days. Possible interactions between dye molecules and the fungal surface were confirmed by SEM, EDX, and FTIR analyses.

제주 스코리아의 제올라이트화에 따른 구리와 아연 이온의 흡착 용량 변화 (Variation of Copper and Zinc-Ion Adsorption Capacity via Zeolitification of Jeju Scoria)

  • Scoria from Jeju-island (Jeju scoria) was converted into zeolitic material (Z-SA) via zeolitification using the fusion/hydrothermal method. Jeju scoria could be synthesized into Z-SA to from a surface covered with Na-A zeolite crystals, which was confirmed through an analysis of X-ray diffraction peak patterns and scanning electron microscopy images. Jeju scoria and Z-SA were employed as adsorbents to evaluate the adsorption rate and adsorption capacities for Cu2+ and Zn2+ ions. The adsorption rates and isothermal adsorption capacities could be well fitted by the pseudo-quadratic adsorption kinetics and Langmuir adsorption isotherm, respectively. The maximum adsorption capacities (qm) of Z-SA for Cu2+ and Zn2+ ions were found to be 163.36 mg/g and 120.51 mg/g, respectively, using the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. When Z-SA is synthesized from Jeju scoria via zeolitification using the fusion/hydrothermal method, Z-SA exhibits an adsorption capacity that is more than approximately 100 times the value exhibited by Jeju scoria. As a result, the synthesized Z-SA was regarded as an effective, economic adsorbent.

에디 공분산 및 자동화 토양챔버 시스템을 이용한 탄소 플럭스 관측 기반 태화산 57년생 잣나무조림지의 탄소흡수능력 평가 (Evaluation of Carbon Sequestration Capacity of a 57-year-old Korean Pine Plantation in Mt. Taeh wa based on Carbon Flux Measurement Using Eddy-covariance and Automated Soil Chamber System)

  • 산림은 육상생태계에서 가장 큰 탄소흡수원으로 기후변화 대응에 있어 산림의 대기 중 이산화탄소 농도 저감 역할은 중요하다. 최근 '2050 탄소중립 계획'에 산림의 탄소흡수 기능의 강화가 기본 방향으로 제시되면서 정확한 산림의 탄소흡수량 산정이 강조되고 있다. 산림부문의 탄소흡수량은 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 지침을 따라 산림 내 생물량, 고사목, 임상 유기물층, 토양층, 수확된 목재제품 등 여러 탄소 저장고 내 탄소축적 변화량으로부터 산정한다. 그러나 국내 산림의 경우 하층 식생을 제외한 주요 수종의 임목 재적 증가로부터 추정한 생물량 증가량만을 산림의 탄소흡수량으로 산정하고 있어 실제 산림의 탄소흡수량과 큰 차이가 발생할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경기도 광주시 태화산에 위치한 57년생 잣나무 조림지에서 에디 공분산 시스템과 자동화 토양챔버 시스템을 이용한 탄소 플럭스 관측을 통해 산림의 탄소 교환량 및 순 탄소흡수량을 정량화하고, 이를 현재 산림의 탄소흡수량 산정 방법에 따라 법정림 임분수확표 내 연평균 생장량과 국가 고유계수를 이용하여 계산한 잣나무 조림지 임목의 생물량 증가량과 비교하였다. 또한 탄소 플럭스 관측기반의 순 탄소흡수량과 잣나무 조림지의 생물량 증가량 및 임상 유기물층의 탄소저장 변화량 등의 차이로부터 나머지 탄소 저장고에서 연간 탄소저장 변화량을 추정하였다. 그 결과 탄소 플럭스로부터 계산한 잣나무 조림지의 연간 순 탄소흡수량은 5.96 MgC ha-1으로 생물량 증가로부터 계산한 임목의 연간 탄소흡수량 2.77 MgC ha-1보다 약 2.2배 많았다. 연간 임상 유기물층의 탄소저장 변화량은 0.75 MgC ha-1로 추정되어, 연간 하층 식생, 고사목, 토양층 등의 탄소 저장고로 유입되는 탄소의 양이 2.45 MgC ha-1으로 추정되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 산림이 현재 평가 수준보다 더 큰 탄소흡수원임을 보여주며, 탄소 플럭스 관측과 더불어 하층 식생, 고사목, 토양층 등의 탄소 저장고에서 탄소축적 변화량의 정량화를 통해 더욱 정확한 산림부문 탄소흡수량 산정이 필요함을 시사한다.

국내 재배 상추로부터 UPLC-DAD-QToF/MS를 이용한 페놀화합물 성분 비교 연구 (Study on Phenolic Compounds in Lettuce Samples Cultivated from Korea Using UPLC-DAD-QToF/MS)

  • The chemical informs about 70 individual phenolic compounds were constructed from various lettuce samples based on literature sources and analytical data. A total of 30 phenolic compounds including quercetin 3-O-glucuronide, quercetin 3-O-(6''-O- malonyl) glucoside, cyanidin 3-O-(6''-O-malonyl)glucoside, chlorogenic acid and chicoric acid as major components were identified in 6 lettuce samples from Korea using UPLC-DAD-QToF/MS on the basis of constructed library. Among these, quercetin 3,7-di-O-glucoside(m/z 627 [M+H]+), quercetin 3-O-(2''-O-malonyl)glucoside(morkotin C, m/z 551 [M+H]+), quercetin 3-O-(6''- O-malonyl)glucoside methyl ester(m/z 565 [M+H]+), 5-O-cis-p-coumaroylquinic acid(m/z 339 [M+H]+) and 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid methyl ester(m/z 369 [M+H]+) were newly confirmed from the lettuce samples. In total content of phenolic compounds, 4 red lettuce samples(2,947.7~7,535.6 mg/100 g, dry weight) showed higher than green lettuce(2,687.3 mg) and head lettuce(320.1 mg).

Effects of Growth Ambient, Process Pressure, and Heat Treatments on the Properties of RF Magnetron Sputtered GaMgZnO UV-Range Transparent Conductive Films

  • Effects of growth variables and post-growth annealing on the optical, structural and electrical properties of magnetron-sputtered Ga0.04Mg0.10Zn0.86O films are characterized in detail. It is observed that films grown from pure oxygen plasma showed high resistivity, ~102 Ω·cm, whereas films grown in Ar plasma showed much lower resistivity, 2.0 × 10-2 ~ 1.0 × 10-1 Ω·cm. Post-growth annealing significantly improved the electrical resistivity, to 4.3 ~ 9.0 × 10-3 Ω·cm for the vacuum annealed samples and to 1.3 ~ 3.0 × 10-3 Ω·cm for the films annealed in Zn vapor. It is proposed that these phenomena may be attributed to the improved crystalline quality and to changes in the defect chemistry. It is suggested that growth within oxygen environments leads to suppression of oxygen vacancy (Vo) donors and formation of Zn vacancy (VZn) acceptors, resulting in highly resistive films. After annealing treatment, the activation of Ga donors is enhanced, Vo donors are annihilated, and crystalline quality is improved, increasing the electron mobility and the concentration. After annealing in Zn vapor, Zn interstitial donors are introduced, further increasing the electron concentration.

흰쥐의 심장과 심근세포에서 dopaminergic 수용체 자극이 Mg2+ 조절에 미치는 영향 (Effects of dopaminergic receptor stimulation on Mg2+ regulation in the rat heart and isolated ventricular myocytes)

  • Magnesium($Mg^{2+}$) is one of the most abundant intracellular divalent cation. Although recent studies demonstrate that adrenergic receptor stimulation evokes marked changes in $Mg^{2+}$ homeostasis, the regulation of $Mg^{2+}$ by dopaminergic receptor stimulation is not yet known. In this work, we used dopaminergic agents to identify which type(s) of receptors were involved in the mobilization of $Mg^{2+}$ by dopaminergic receptor stimulation in the perfused rat hearts, isolated myocytes and circulating blood. The $Mg^{2+}$ content was measured by atomic absorbance spectrophotometry. Dopamine(DA), apomorphine(APO) and pergolide stimulated $Mg^{2+}$ efflux in the perfused rat hearts and these effects were inhibited by haloperidol or fluphenazine, nonselective dopaminergic antagonists. SKF38393, a selective doparminergic agonist, increased $Mg^{2+}$ efflux from the perfused hearts in dose dependant manners and SKF38393-induced $Mg^{2+}$ efflux was blocked by haloperidol. However, dopaminergic agonists-induced $Mg^{2+}$ efflux was potentiated in the presence of sulpiride or eticlopride, $D_2$-selective antagonist, from the perfused hearts. This increase of $Mg^{2+}$ efflux was blocked by haloperidol or imipramine. DA or pergolide increased in circulating $Mg^{2+}$ from blood. By contrast, PPHT stimulated $Mg^{2+}$ influx(a decrease in efflux) from the perfused hearts and circulating blood. PPHT-induced $Mg^{2+}$ influx was blocked by fluphenazine in the perfused hearts. DA-stimulated $Mg^{2+}$ efflux was inhibited by dopaminergic antagoinst in the isolated myocytes. In conclusion, the flux of $Mg^{2+}$ is modulated by DA receptor activation in the rat hearts. The efflux of $Mg^{2+}$ can be increased by $D_1$-receptor stimulation and decreased by $D_2$-receptor stimulation, respectively.

활성 백토를 이용한 수중의 인산성 인(PO43--P) 흡착에 관한 연구 (Study on Adsorption of PO43--P in Water using Activated Clay)

  • 본 연구에서, 산성 백토를 황산(무게 비로 20%)와 90 ℃의 온도로 8시간 동안 가열하여 처리 한 활성 백토를 수중의 인산성 인(PO43--P)의 제거를 위한 흡착제로서 사용하였다. 흡착 실험에 앞서 X-선 형광분광기와 표면적 분석기로 활성 백토의 특성을 조사하였다. 활성 백토에 의한 PO43--P 흡착은 0.25 시간 이전에 가파르게 증가하였고 4시간에 이르렀을 때 평형에 도달하였다. 5 mg/L의 낮은 PO43--P 농도에서, 대략 98%의 흡착효율이 활성 백토에 의해 성취되었다. PO43--P의 흡착 데이터를 흡착 등온선과 반응속도 모델에 도입하였다. 활성 백토에 의한 PO43--P 흡착거동은 Freundlich와 Langmuir 등온선 모두에 잘 적용되었다. 활성 백토에 의한 PO43--P 흡착에 관해서 Freundlich와 Langmuir의 등온선 계수인 KF와 Q는 각각 8.3과 20.0 mg/g이 되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 물과 활성 백토 계에서의 PO43--P 흡착은 더 높은 상관계수 R2와 실험값 qe,exp과 계산값 qe,cal의 근접으로 인해서 유사 일차 보다는 유사 이차 반응속도식에 적합하였다. 연구의 결과들은 활성 백토가 수중으로부터 인을 제거하는데 효율적인 흡착제로 사용될 수 있다는 것을 보였다.

비만의 펩타이드 치료제 (Peptides in Obesity Treatment)

  • Currently, pharmacotherapy is becoming essential for obesity, owing to its expanding and increasing epidemiology. In this review, novel peptide-based drugs of four classes are covered: GLP-1 receptor agonist, GIP/GLP-1 receptor dual agonist, glucagon/GLP-1 receptor dual agonist, and a combination of amylin receptor agonist/GLP-1 receptor agonist. Semaglutide is a next-generation GLP-1 receptor agonist with a longer duration and stronger weight and glucose reduction effects than liraglutide and dulaglutide. In the STEP1 trial, semaglutide 2.4 mg reduced body weight by approximately 15% in people with obesity with similar or milder adverse events than liraglutide 3.0 mg. Tirzepatide, a GIP/GLP-1 receptor dual agonist, also has a long duration and strong weight- and glucose-lowering effect. According to SURPASS-2, 3, and 4, in patients with BMI≥25 kg/m2 and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), tirzepatide 15 mg reduced the initial body weight by >13%. Cotadutide, a glucagon/GLP-1 receptor dual agonist, showed weaker weight-lowering effects than semaglutide and tirzepatide, while it was comparable to that of liraglutide in a phase 2 clinical trial for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in patients with BMI≥25 kg/m2 and T2DM. Additionally, its effect on the liver was noticeable. The long-acting amylin receptor agonist cargrilintide combined with semaglutide can be another effective option for obesity treatment. Even in a small phase 1 trial with a short study period of 20 weeks, cargrilintide 2.4 mg/semaglutide 2.4 mg reduced by 17% of initial body weight in people with BMI 27-39.9 kg/m2. In coming several years, semaglutide, tirzepatide, and cargrilintide/semaglutide will become available for obesity treatment in Korea.
