Securing of Potential Users of Smartphone UI due to the Philosophy of its Design (스마트 폰 UI의 디자인 철학에 따른 잠재적 사용자 확보)

  • Innovator and Early Adopter are main clients of smart phone until now, but the silver generation enjoying price stability and the Internet emerges, so a strategy of the importance, systematic classification, and focus of a neglected class is needed. It is necessary to analyze UI that can departmentalize not a neglected class limited to the silver generation but potential users who can be voluntarily users and can secure them. To secure them, the researcher analyzes how Windows, Icons, Mouse Pull-Down-Menus(WIMP) of UI has been applied in the process that skeuomorphism UI of iPhone, Metro UI of MS, and Material UI of Google change. As a result of an analysis, skeuomorphism is not entirely new and has secured potential users slowly with a method to compensate and improve a part that users disregard. As a concept of touch UI, Metro UI considered potential users from the beginning but did not secure them with new and epoch-making UI. However, Material UI of Google compensates the weaknesses of skeuomorphism UI and Metro UI and emphasizes cost-effectiveness, so has developed into UI that can secure final consumers of potential users. Therefore, to secure potential users, it should make users themselves understand why they should use smart phone, and it should approach with more organized studies on UI through feedback of observation and direct talks.

  • 보편화된 카드 사용은 현금 사용과 달리 지출의 파악이 어려워 과소비를 조장한다. 불필요한 지출을 줄여 합리적인 소비활동을 위해서 본 논문에서는 카드 결제 시 수신 받는 SMS를 통합적으로 관리하여 결제 내역을 분석할 수 있도록 해주는 카드 결제내역 관리 앱을 제안한다. 터치환경에 적합한 Metro UI를 메인화면에 사용하여 메인에서 모든 메뉴로의 접근을 가능하게 하였고, 사용 내역을 수동으로 입력하지 않아도 SMS를 자동으로 분석하여 쉽고 빠르게 이용 가능하다.

  • The ATVM(Automatic Ticket Vending Machine) of Seoul Metropolitan is a Kiosk which is called Ticket Vending and Reload Device at the subway station. It is implemented for integrating transportation card system which is separated from a paper subway ticket and replacing ticket selling employees. However, since the automatic ticket vending machine was accepted in 2009, there has been confusion of purchasing a ticket. Therefore, it requires improvement of usability. This study, conducts a literature search. Also, the interface of ATVM is analyzed. Finally user observation proceeded at Sinnonhyeon Station of Seoul Metro line 9. The results show that selecting a destination and section fares is confusing process for user. Based on this survey the improvements of UI are proposed to expect advanced directions of the ATVM.

  • IT 기기와 서비스가 보편화되고 있는 시점에 사용자 인터페이스의 중요성은 날이 갈수록 중요해지고 있다. 사용자가 특정한 일을 하기 위해서는 반드시 인터페이스를 통해 시스템과 의사소통해야하며 인터페이스가 얼마나 편리하고 친근한가에 따라 작업의 효율성도 달라진다. 그러므로 인터페이스는 사용자와 시스템 간의 원활한 의사소통을 통해 정확한 업무 수행하기 위한 요소로 매우 중요하다. 이러한 분위기 속에서 다양한 IT 기기가 등장하면서 이에 따른 UI 트렌드도 변화하고 있다. 최근 UI 트렌드로는 대표적으로 Responsive UI(반응형 UI)를 비롯해 Metro UI, Tile Layout 등이 있다. 하지만 이러한 UI만으로는 소상공인들 위한 홍보 영상 제작 플랫폼(이하 Ad-it)에서 홍보 영상을 만들기 위한 미디어 리소스 수집하는 데에 어려움이 존재한다. 소상공인의 주요 연령대가 40~50대라는 점을 감안하여 사용자의 IT 기술 친숙도를 반영하지 않았기 때문이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 본 논문에서는 홍보 영상 리소스 수집을 위해 소상공인이 쉽게 따라올 수 있도록 단계별로 나누어진 Step UI 개념을 도입하여 홍보 영상 제작에 필요한 미디어 리소스를 수집을 위한 Step UI를 구현하였다.

  • 메타포와 메트로스타일의 형태의 우열은 아직 논하기는 어려운 시점으로 두가지 모두 목적과 개발환경에 맞춰 디자인이 되어야 할 것으로 보이며 지금도 새로운 트랜드라는 명목하에 많은 디자이너들은 계속 새로운 시도를 하고 있다. 새로운 시도도 중요하지만 정확히 알고 적용하는 것이 더 좋은 UI를 제공하게 되므로 간단하게 장단점 및 유형, 특징에 대해 비교하고자 한다.

Visual Weight of Interface Design (인터페이스 디자인의 시각적 무게)

  • In this study, we found that the design can be configured according to the visual weight in the design of the interface. First of all, interface design has gone through the era of squeeze morphism to express depth and dimension by borrowing part of material design or head design from flat design. This is due to the characteristics of metro UI and flat design, which are difficult to express depth and dimension, but in material design, there was no separate device for inducing eyes, so Gestalt theory showed the principle of visual weight. Positive and negative, the size and placement of regions, proximity, closure, and notion were closely related to visual weight and orientation, and in some cases, it could be applied to the interface.

A Statistical Study on Doorway Flow-time for Designing Doors of Ui LRT (우이-신설 경전철 출입문 설계를 위한 승하차시간 분석 연구)

  • This paper presents an analysis of door design for the Ui LRT based on experiments to predict doorway flow-time and their analyses results. A similar railway vehicle (from Gimhae LRT) and operational conditions are utilized to assess the doorway flow-time through repetitive experiments. Design of the experiments consists of four scenarios, and the experiments are repeated 39 times in total. We use the results of the experiments to verify the design of doors of Ui LRT (e.g. the required number of doors and their width). Various statistical analyses are carried out for the flow-time with respect to the number of boarding/alighting passengers. We make three category levels of boarding/alighting passengers, and analyze the mean and variance for each category, and then carry out One-Way ANOVA to analyze how the number of boarding/alighting and onboard passengers impact flow-time. The results of this paper can be used for making decisions about doors of the LRT vehicle.

Optimal Path Finding Considering Smart Card Terminal ID Chain OD - Focused on Seoul Metropolitan Railway Network - (교통카드 단말기ID Chain OD를 반영한 최적경로탐색 - 수도권 철도 네트워크를 중심으로 -)

  • In smart card data, movement of railway passengers appears in order of smart card terminal ID. The initial terminal ID holds information on the entering station's tag-in railway line, the final terminal ID the exit station tag-out railway line, and the middle terminal ID the transfer station tag subway line. During the past, when the metropolitan city rail consisted of three public corporations (Seoul Metro, Incheon Transit Corporation, and Korail), OD data was expressed in two metrics of initial and final smart card terminal ID. Recently, with the entrance of private corporations like Shinbundang Railroad Corporation, and UI Corporation, inclusion of entering transfer line terminal ID and exiting transfer line terminal ID as part of Chain OD has become standard. Exact route construction using Chain OD has thus become integral as basic data for revenue allocation amongst metropolitan railway transport corporations. Accordingly, path detection in railway networks has evolved to an optimal path detection problem using Chain OD, hence calling for a renewed solution method. This research proposes an optimal path detection method between the initial terminal ID and final terminal ID of Chain OD terminal IDs within the railway network. Here, private line transfer TagIn/Out must be reflected in optimal path detection using Chain OD. To achieve this, three types of link-based optimum path detection methods are applied in order of 1. node-link, 2. link-link, 3. link-node. The method proposed based on additional path costs is shown to satisfy the optimal conditions.

A Study on the Applicability of the Crack Measurement Digital Data Graphics Program for Field Investigations of Buildings Adjacent to Construction Sites (건설 현장 인접 건물의 현장 조사를 위한 균열 측정 디지털 데이터 그래픽 프로그램 적용 가능성에 관한 연구)

  • Through the development of construction technology, various construction projects such as redevelopment projects, undergrounding of roads, expansion of subways, and metro railways are being carried out. However, this has led to an increase in the number of construction projects in existing urban centers and neighborhoods, resulting in an increase in the number of damages and disputes between neighboring buildings and residents, as well as an increase in safety accidents due to the aging of existing buildings. In this study, digital data was applied to a graphics program to objectify the progress of cracks by comparing the creation of cracks and the increase in length and width through photographic images and presenting the degree of cracks numerically. Through the application of the program, the error caused by the subjective judgment of crack change, which was mentioned as a shortcoming of the existing field survey, was solved. It is expected that the program can be used universally in the building diagnosis process by improving its reliability if supplemented and improved in the process of use. As a follow-up study, it is necessary to apply the extraction algorithm of the digital graphic data program to calculate the length and width of the crack by itself without human intervention in the preprocessing work and to check the overall change of the building.
