A novel approach for the reconstruction of 3D building model from aerial image data is proposed in this paper. In this approach, a Centroid Neural Network (CNN) with a metric of line segments is proposed for connecting low-level linear structures. After the straight lines are extracted from an edge image using the CNN, rectangular boundaries are then found by using an edge-based grouping approach. In order to avoid producing unrealistic building models from grouping lined segments, a hierarchical grouping method is proposed in this paper. The proposed hierarchical grouping method is evaluated with a set of aerial image data in the experiment. The results show that the proposed method can be successfully applied for the reconstruction of 3D building model from satellite images.
This research is an application of game theory to developing the supplier selection and demand allocation mechanism, which are the essential and major research areas of supply chain planning and operation. In this research, the most popular and widely accepted mechanism, the progressive reverse auction is analyzed and compared with the other game theoretic approach, Kalai-Smorodinsky Bargaining Solution in the viewpoint of holistic efficiency of supply chain operation. To logically and exquisitely compare the efficiencies, a heuristic algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm is devised to find the other optimal demand allocation plan. A well known metric, profit-cost ratio, as well as profit functions for both suppliers and buyer has been designed for evaluating the overall profitability of supply chain. The experimental results with synthesis data and supply chain model which were made to mimic practical supply chain are illustrated and analyzed to show how the proposed approach can enhance the profitability of supply chain planning. Based on the result, it can be said that the proposed mechanism using bargainging solution mayguarantee the better profitability for the whole supply chin including both suppliers and buyer, even though quite small portion of buyer's profitability should be sacrified.
The electronic absorption spectra of [3-(2-thenoyl) 3-(p-NO2-phenylhydrazone) ethyl pyruvate] (I), p-Br (II) and p-CH3 (III) were studied in ethanol and the spectra comprise four absorption bands which assigned to the corresponding electronic transition. The pK values of these compounds have been determined spectrophotometrically and pH-metrically, the results shown that the interval range for color change of compound (I) is (8-10) similar to that of phenolphethalin indicator, indicating that this compound can be used as acid-base indicator. The successive stability constants of the compounds under study with some transition elements (Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), UO2(II), La(III) and Zr(IV) have been determined pH- metrically. Stoichiometric complexes with ratios 1:1 and 1:2 (M: L) were formed for all metals. The pK of the three derivatives and the values of the stability constant (logK) of the complexes have the order; III > II > I. Also conductometric titrations have been carried out and the results show that this titration can be used for determination of both the metal ion and the ligand concentrations by each others.

This study evaluated ecological health, using various biomarkers and bioindicators, of pale chub (Zacco platypus) as a sentinel species, in Daejeon Stream, South Korea, during AprilMay 2011. The biomarkers and bioindicators were compared among three sites of control: Reference ($C_z$), transition ($T_z$), and the urban zones ($U_z$); and the 7-Ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) activity, DNA damage, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, and vitellogenin (VTG) concentrations were more significantly increased in the $U_z$ than in the $C_z$. Also, physiological markers such as condition factor, liver somatic index, visceral somatic index, and gonad somatic index were significantly increased in the $U_z$ than in the $C_z$. For the health assessments, three categorized parameters of blood chemistry, molecular biomarkers, and physiological bioindicators were standardized and calculated as a star-plot, representing values of Integrated Health Response (IHR). Values of IHR had more significant (P<0.05) increases in the $U_z$ than any other zones, indicating an impairment of ecological health by organic matter, nutrients (N, P), and toxic chemicals. This study is based on low levels of biological organization approach of molecular and physiological biomarkers and bioindicators, so further study of high-levels of biological organization approach such as community and population is required for overall range of health assessments. The approach of IHR values, however, may be useful in providing early warning of future impacts on ecological health.

In construction industry, project performance should be evaluated in terms of project value objectives, i.e., cost, time, quality, safety, and environment. However, there have been few, if any, systematic approaches in assessing comprehensive performance level which encompasses the whole spectrum of project value objectives. It is non trivial to establish the standardized performance metric system due to the project individualities. This study provides a new approach in assessing the wide variety of project performance types by collecting the real industry project data. In addition, the proposed system has been validated through industry survey on project practitioners. It is concluded that the developed quantitative project performance measurement system would be effectively useful in indicating the level of current status of a particular project and furthermore, to provide a meaningful strategy for the future project in a more sustainable way.

Software management model divided into the software project model and design estimation model, software matrices model, reliability growth model, process improvement model(or process maturity model) etc. Among these software management models, software complexity model make an estimated of the product software. For a practice of software managed, need to guideline of the static analysis of software. Especially, Software complexity model introduced for the estimation of software quantity and program complexity. In case of measurement the software matrices, its need for us to analysis of software quality and products. On the other hand, we known that complexity program include many defects and consuming of source cost. So, we apply to complexity model using of the program complexity, control structure and volume matrices, interface metrics, process complexity metrics method. In this paper, we represent that the analysis of fault data detected during the system test. Also, we analysis of program control structure and interface, volume matrices in various aspect of switching software. Others, their results utilized similar of project and system development.

In this paper, we combine the Hybrid-Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) algorithm with joint Tx and Rx antenna selection based on the reliability of the individual antennas links. The cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is applied on the data before being encoded using the Turbo encoder. In the receiver the CRC is used to detect errors of each antenna stream and to decide whether a retransmission is required or not. The receiver feeds back the transmitter with the Tx antennas ordering and the acknowledgement of each antenna (ACK or NACK). If the number of ACK antennas is higher than the NACK antennas, then the retransmission takes place from the ACK antennas using the Chase Combining (CC). If the number of the NACK antennas is higher than the ACK antennas then the ACK antennas are used to retransmit the data streams using the CC algorithm and additional NACK antennas are used to retransmit the remaining streams using Incremental Redundancy (IR, i.e. the encoder rate is reduced). Furthermore, the HARQ is used with the I-BLAST (Iterative-BLAST) which grantees a high transmission rate.

Recently IPTV service is becoming an emerging service representing IP convergence that is enabled on the broadband networks. It is an essential and very important issue to manage the service quality of IPTV service effectively for its successful deployment because of the innate nature of current Internet that cannot support quality of service (QoS). In particular, it is required that subscriber can measure and judge the service quality of IPTV service directly, which is impossible with the current method usually depending on a measurement equipment. In this paper, therefore, we introduce an implementation of a software that is installed at a set-top on the subscriber side and measures the quality of IPTV service in real time. In order to verify the performance of the implemented software, we perform a number of tests and compare the result with the measurement equipments in common use. By the comparison, it is shown that the measurement by the implemented software is precise and reliable.
To support an efficient management of software verification and validation activities, much research has been conducted to predict defects in early phase. And defect prediction models have been proposed to predict defects. But the generality of the models has not been experimentally studied for other software system. In other words, most of prediction models were applied only to the same system that had been used to build the prediction models themselves. Therefore, we performed an experiment to explore generality of major prediction models. In the experiment, we applied three defects prediction models to three different systems. As a result, we cannot find their generality of defect prediction capability. The cause is analyzed to result from a different metric distribution between the systems.
Background: By-products of pickled radish (BPR) are considered food waste. Approximately 300 g/kg of the total mass of raw materials becomes BPR. Production of pickled radish has grown continuously and is presently about 40,000 metric tons annually in Korea. The objective of the present study was thus to explore the possibility of using BPR as a ruminant feed ingredient. Results: BPR contained a large amount of moisture (more than 800 g/kg) and ash, and comprised mostly sodium (103 g/kg DM) and chloride (142 g/kg DM). On a dry matter basis, the crude protein (CP) and ether extract (EE) levels in BPR were 75 g/kg and 7 g/kg, respectively. The total digestible nutrient (TDN) level was 527 g/kg and the major portion of digestible nutrients was carbohydrate; 88 % organic matter (OM) was carbohydrate and 65 % of total carbohydrate was soluble or degradable fiber. The coefficient of variation (CV) of nutrient contents among production batches ranged from 4.65 to 33.83 %. The smallest CV was observed in OM, and the largest, in EE. The variation in CP content was relatively small (10.11 %). The storage stability test revealed that storage of BPR at $20^{\circ}C$ (room temperature) might not cause spoilage for 4 d, and possibly longer. If BPR is refrigerated, spoilage can be deferred for 21 d and longer. The in vitro ruminal fermentation study showed that substitution of annual ryegrass straw with BPR improved ruminal fermentation, as evidenced by an increase in VFA concentration, DM degradability, and total gas production. Conclusion: The major portion of nutrients in BPR is soluble or degradable fiber that can be easily fermented in the rumen without adverse effects, to provide energy to ruminant animals. Although its high sodium chloride content needs to be considered when formulating a ration, BPR can be successfully used as a feed ingredient in a ruminant diet, particularly if it is one component of a total mixed ration.
