Factors and Recovery of Herbicide Phytotoxicity on Direct - seeded Rice - 3. Phytotoxicity of Herbicide by Three Elements of Fertilizer (직파(直播) 벼의 제초제(除草劑) 약해(藥害) 요인(要因)과 회복(回復) 연구(硏究) - 3. 비료 3요소에 따른 약해 발생 특성)

  • This experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of fertilizer for herbicides phytotoxicity of rice(Oryza sativa L. japonica cv Dongjin). The shoot and root growth of rice were inhibited more by pyrazosulfuron-ethyl or pyrazosulfuronethyl+molinate than bensulfuron methyl or bensulfuron methyl+dimepiperate application in nitrogen or nitrogen mixed solution. In phosphate or phosphate mixed solution, rice growth were inhibited more by bensulfuron methyl or bensulfuron methyl+dimepiperate than pyrazosulfuron-ethyl or pyrazosulfuron-ethyl+molinate application. In solution mixed with nitrogen and phosphate or fertilizer three elements, rice shoots were more. inhibited by pyrazosulfuron-ethyl or pyrazosulfuron-ethyl+molinate treatments, roots were inhibited more relatively by bensulfuron methyl or bensulfuron methyl+dimepiperate treatments. In all fertilizer solutions, rice plant heights were reduced by dimepiperate and molinate applications, but root growth was reduced only by nitrogen and phosphate mixed solution. Rice growth in sulfonylurea or their mixed herbicide application were more inhibited in high :nitrogen concentration arid by phosphate exclusion than by nitrogen exclusion culture.

Synthesis of Acryl Phosphate Antistatic Agent and Its Effect on the Antistatic, Thermal and Mechanical Properties of PMMA

  • A simple and economic antistatic agent, (2-methacryloyloxyethyl)acid phosphate (acryl phosphate), was synthesized via the reaction of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate with phosphorus pentoxide. The acryl phosphate antistatic agent, synthesized in this study, was introduced into poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) resin via copolymerization with MMA. This antistatic agent provides the PMMA matrix with excellent antistatic properties, including surface resistance and electric charge. A comparison of the present antistatic agent with other commercial agents demonstrated the excellence of not only its electrical, but also its thermal and mechanical properties.

Comparative Modeling Studies of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate Synthase (MEP pathway) from Mycobacterium Tuberculosis

  • Tuberculosis is a major health problem in humans because of its multidrug resistance and discovering new treatments for this disease is urgently required. The synthesis of isoprenoids in Mycobacterium tuberculosis has been reported as an interesting pathway to target. In this context, 2C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway of M. tuberculosis has drawn attention. The MEP pathway begins with the condensation of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and pyruvate forming 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate (DXP) which is catalyzed by 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate synthase (DXS). As there is no X-ray structure was reported for this target, comparative modeling was used to generate the three dimensional structure. The structure was further validated by PROCHECK, VERIFY-3D, PROSA, ERRAT and WHATIF. Molecular docking studies was performed with the substrate (Thiamine pyrophosphate) and the reported inhibitor 2-methyl-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-4H-pyrazolol[1,5-a]pyrimidin-7-one) against the developed model to identify the crucial residues in the active site. This study may further be useful to provide structure based drug design.

Effect of Carboxy Methyl Cellulose and Methyl Cellulose on the Functional Properties of Pork Heart Alginate/Calcium Carbonate(AC) Surimi (돼지 심장근 Surimi 의 기능성에 미치는 Carboxy Methyl Cellulose 및 Methyl Cellulose의 영향)

  • 축육 생산시 주요 부산물인 돼지 심장근으로부터 항산화제(0.02% propyl gallate, 0.2% asxorbic acid, 0.2% sodium tripolyphosphate) 첨가 세척액(25 mM phosphate buffer, pH 6.0)에 의해 제조된 surimi(5% protein 0.6 M NaCl, 25 mM phosphate buffer, pH 6.0)를 alginate(0.4%), calcium carbonate(0.075%) 및 lactate(0.6%) 등의 첨가에 의해 AC surimi 로 조제한 다음, CMC 또는 MC를 일정수준 (0.5%, 1.0%) 첨가하여 surimi 의 pH, 겔의 보수력과 조리 손실을 비롯하여 겔읨 루성을 비교 검톻였다. CMC 첨가시 pH는 0.2 단위씩 감소하는 경향을 보인데 비해 MC 첨가시에는 뚜렷한 변화를 보이지는 않았다. 조리 손실에 대한 영향을 살펴 본 결과 CMC와 MC 첨가구에서 0.5% CMC 첨가구를 제외하고서는 나머지 세 처리구에서 감소하는 경향이었고, 특히 MC 첨가시에는 대조구에 비해 뚜렷한 감소 경향을 나타내었으나(p<0.05) 첨가수준에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았다 CMC나 MC의 첨가는 보수력에 대해서는 거의 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났고, 물성에 대한 측정 결과에서 CMC 첨가시에는 겔의 강도. 경도 및 탄성등은 약간 증가하였으나 유의적인 차이를 나타내지는 않았고 (P<0.05), MC 첨가시에는 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내지 않았으며, 겔 응집성에 대해서는 CMC와 MC 첨가에 의해 서로 다른 경향을 나타내었다.

  • In this study, we investigated a calcium phosphate-calcium sulfate injectable bone substitute (IBS) with organic reinforcement of chitosan, citric acid and hydroxypropyl-methyl-cellulose (HPMC). The powder component of IBS consisted of tetra calcium phosphate (TTCP), dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD) and calcium sulfate dihydrate (CSD). The liquid component was a solution of citric acid and chitosan. The effect of HPMC in terms of setting time, compressive strength and apatite forming ability on this IBS was investigated. The mass content of HPMC in liquid phase was varied in array of 0%, 2%, 3% and 4%. The setting times obtained between 20 and 45 minutes. Compressive strength was achieved over 20 MPa after incubation at 370C and in 100% humidity for 28 days. Porosities were evaluated in relation with compressive strength. Elastic moduli of the 28 days after-incubation IBS were obtained around 4GPa

  • The 5-(2'-(N-(1-methyl-3'-carbamylphenyl)-n-propyl))aminoethyl)-8- hydroxy-4-methyl-carbostyril derivatives which have isoelectronic and isosteric structural similarity with dobutamine without having the Catechol-O-Methyltransferase (COMT) vulnerable m-hydroxy group were synthesized via 7 synthetic steps, and their stabilities in phosphate buffer solution(pH=7.4), human blood. 80% human plasma and 20% rat liver homogenate were determined in vitro condition.

  • ${\underline{O}},{\underline{O}}-Diethyl-{\underline{S}}-phenyl\;phosphorothiolate-^{18}O$ and other related compounds were prepared and oxidized with m-chloroperbenzoic acid (MCPBA). Each reaction was followed by $^{31}P$ NMR and the products were analyzed by GC-MS. ${\underline{O}},{\underline{O}}-Diethyl-{\underline{S}}-phenyl\;phosphorothiolate-^{18}O$ was converted to diethyl methyl phosphate in methanol by MCPBA and it was confirmed to contain $^{18}O$, which proved that the originally proposed mechanism of Segall and Casida operates in the oxidative reaction.

  • In plants, the fifth step of the plastidial 2-Cmethyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway is catalyzed by 2-C-Methyl-D-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate synthase (MECP; EC: 4. 6. 1. 12), an enzyme proposed to play a key role in the regulation of isoprenoid biosynthesis. Here we report the isolation and functional characterization of a 823 bp Brassica rapa MECP (Brmecp) cDNA encoding a deduced polypeptide of 230 amino acid residues. Transcription levels of Brmecp were two-fold higher in petal compared to leaves. In addition, Brmecp expression in cabbage seedlings treated with ABA, $H_2O_2$ and drought was higher than control seedlings. These results were consistent with changes in chlorophyll contents in transgenic Arabidopsis. Thus, the Brmecp may contribute to the production of primary (chlorophylls and carotenoids) isoprenoid end-products in chloroplasts.

The Roles of Metal Ions and Water Molecules in the Hydrolysis of Bis(p-nitrophenyl)phosphate as a DNA Model Catalyzed by Dinuclear Ni(II) Complex (DNA 모델인 Bis(p-nitrophenyl)phosphate에 대한 2핵 Ni(II) 착 화합물의 촉매 가수분해 반응에서 물 분자와 금속 이온의 역할)

  • The catalytic hydrolysis reactivities of dinuclear nickel (II) complex, ${\mu}-aquapentaaqua[{\mu}-3,6-bis(6'-methyl-2'-pyridyl)pyridazine]chlorodinickel\;(II)$ trichloride trihydrate (APNT) for bis(p-nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP) as a DNA model compound were investigated. The dissociation constants of APNT were $pKa_1=7.9$ and $pKa_2=9.6$, respectively. The hydrolysis rate constant of BNPP compound by APNT was showed the rate enhancement of about 370,000 times in the case of none catalyst at pH 7.0 and $50^{\circ}C$. Based on the findings, we proposed the catalytic cycle for the hydrolysis of BNPP by APNT complex. The metal ions of dinuclear nickel (II) complex significantly enhance the transfer rate of phosphoryl group in the catalytic process and the water molecules as nucleophile and proton transfer agent act in different steps.

Supported Liquid Membrane Composed of Tri-n-butyl Phosphate or Liquid Polymer for Phenol Separation (Tri-n-butyl phosphate와 액상고분자 지지액막을 이용한 페놀의 분리)

  • Among various water contaminents, organic compounds like phenol are difficult to be removed or destroyed by conventional methods under the unusual discharge conditions. The separation of phenol from aqueous solution has been carried out by several methods recently: absorption by an activated carbon, solvent extraction and liquid membrane technology. The liquid membrane based on water-oil emulsification has been tested as an alternative technology of the conventional technology. In this work, tri-n-butyl phosphate(TBP) and liquid polymers were examined as a liquid membrane in the supported liquid membrane(SLM). The feed concentration of phenol was varied and various types of liquid membranes were used to examine their effects on separation of phenol. It was found that TBP, polypropylene glycol 4000(PPG 4000) and polybutytene glycol 500(PBG 500) were proper carriers because mass transfer rates through them were much higher than or similar to that through methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK) which was used as a conventional solvent in a solvent extraction process.
