윈드프로파일러의 평균모멘트 값을 이용한 도플러 파워 스펙트럼 및 시계열 원시신호 시뮬레이션기법 개발 (Development of Simulation Method of Doppler Power Spectrum and Raw Time Series Signal Using Average Moments of Radar Wind Profiler)

  • 윈드프로파일러(RWP, radar wind profiler)는 기상 상태와 관계없이 시공간 분해능이 높은 바람장 자료를 제공하며 생산된 바람의 정확도나 품질에 대한 검증이 필수적이다. 기존 정확도 검증 방식은 레윈존데와의 동시 관측을 통해 윈드프로파일러에서 생성된 바람 벡터를 기준 자료로 활용하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 평균 모멘트 자료로부터 스펙트럼과 원시 시계열 자료를 시뮬레이션하는 알고리즘을 통해 윈드프로파일러의 신호처리 알고리즘을 단계별로 검증하는 방안을 제시하고, LAP-3000의 원시 자료와의 비교를 통해 해당 알고리즘의 가능성을 확인하였다. 기상 신호의 밀도 함수를 모멘트값을 인자로 하는 왜곡된 정규 분포의 밀도 함수로 가정하여 생성하였고, 난수를 통해 시뮬레이션 스펙트럼을 생성하였다. 또한, 난수 위상과 역 이산푸리에 변환으로 간섭 평균된 시뮬레이션 원시 시계열 자료를 생성하고 최종적으로 디리클레 분포(Dirichlet distribution)를 통해 간섭 평균 전 단계의 원시 시계열 자료를 생성하였다.

HAQ 알고리즘과 Moment 기반 특징을 이용한 내용 기반 영상 검색 알고리즘 (Content-Based Image Retrieval Algorithm Using HAQ Algorithm and Moment-Based Feature)

  • 본 논문은 내용 기반 검색 기법에 의한 보다 효율적인 특징 추출 및 영상 검색 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 먼저, MPEG 비디오의 key frame을 입력 영상으로 하여 Gaussian edge detector를 이용하여 객체를 추출하고, 그에 따른 객체 특징들, location feature distributed dimension feature와 invariant moments feature를 추출하였다. 다음, 제안하는 HAQ (Histogram Analysis and Quantization) 알고리즘으로 characteristic color feature를 추출하였다. 마지막으로 key frame이 아닌 shot frame을 질의영상으로 하여 제안된 matching 기법에 따라 4가지 특징들의 단계별 검색을 수행하였다. 본 논문의 목적은 사용자가 요구하는 장면이 속한 비디오의 shot 경계 내의 key frame을 검색하는 새로운 내용 기반 검색 알고리즘을 제안함에 있다. 제안된 알고리즘을 바탕으로 10개의 뮤직비디오, 836개의 시험 영상으로 실험한 결과, 효과적인 검색 효율을 보였다.

  • 극단치 분포의 모수 추정방법으로 최우추정법, 확률가중적률법, 회귀분석법은 기존 연구에서 활발하게 적용되어져 왔다. 그러나 이들 세 가지 추정방법 가운데, 회귀분석법의 우수성은 엄격하게 평가되어진 적이 없다. 본 논문에서는 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션을 통하여 Generalized Extreme Value(GEV) 분포와 Generalized Pareto(GP) 분포의 모수 추정에 회귀분석법 및 다른 추정방법을 적용하여 비교 연구한다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 표본의 크기가 작은 경우 회귀분석 법은 GEV 분포의 위치모수 추정시 편의 측면과 효율성 측면에서 다른 방법보다 우수한 경향을 나타내었다. GP 분포의 규모모수 추정시에는 표본의 크기 가 작을 경우 회귀분석법이 다른 방법보다 작은 편의를 나타내었다. 회귀분석법은 표본의 크기 가 작거나 적당히 큰 경우에도 GEV 분포나 GP 분포의 형태모수 추정시에 형태모수의 값이 -0.4일 경우, 다른 방법보다 우수한 경향을 나타내었다.

  • Hydrodynamic moments produced by the rolling oscillation on the free surface and the associated swaying force were exactly calculated by Ursell-Tasai method for the cylinders with Kim's chine form sections($a_1,\;a_7$). The coefficient of the added moment of inertia $K_{\varphi^{\tau}}$, the progressive wave height ratio $\bar{A}$, the coefficient of swaying forces $K_{RS}$, ${\alpha}_{RS}$ of rolling oscillations are shown in the several figures. The results of the computation were compared with those of lewis form sections. It is concluded that the effect of the section form on the added moment of inertia is significant for the cylinder with the section of same beam-draft ratio and sectional area coefficient, on the other hand, a little effect appears on the wave damping.

  • This study employed the perturbation method, the Edgeworth series, the reliability optimization, the reliability sensitivity technique and the robust design to present a practical and effective approach for the robust reliability design of vehicle components with arbitrary distribution parameters on the condition of known first four moments of original random variables. The theoretical formulae of the robust reliability design for vehicle components with arbitrary distribution parameters are obtained. The reliability sensitivity is added to the reliability optimization design model and the robust reliability design is described as a multi-objection optimization. On the condition of known first four moments of original random variables, the respective program can be used to obtain the robust reliability design parameters of vehicle components with arbitrary distribution parameters accurately and quickly.

Transmuted new generalized Weibull distribution for lifetime modeling

  • The Weibull family of lifetime distributions play a fundamental role in reliability engineering and life testing problems. This paper investigates the potential usefulness of transmuted new generalized Weibull (TNGW) distribution for modeling lifetime data. This distribution is an important competitive model that contains twenty-three lifetime distributions as special cases. We can obtain the TNGW distribution using the quadratic rank transmutation map (QRTM) technique. We derive the analytical shapes of the density and hazard functions for graphical illustrations. In addition, we explore some mathematical properties of the TNGW model including expressions for the quantile function, moments, entropies, mean deviation, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves and the moments of order statistics. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the model parameters. Finally the applicability of the TNGW model is presented using nicotine in cigarettes data for illustration.

  • This paper presents an analytical method to evaluate the dynamic behavior of the scroll compressor. Unbalanced forces and moments act on the compressor body because of the reaction forces acting on rotating components like the orbiting scroll, Oldham coupling ring, and the crank shaft. The vibration of the compressor is induced by the forces and the moments. In this paper, through modeling of the leakage flow, solving the forces from the equations of motion of the moving parts, the analysis of vibration of the compressor was performed. According to the operating condition, the variation of acceleration of the compressor body were calculated and compared.

Motion classification using distributional features of 3D skeleton data

  • Recently, there has been significant research into the recognition of human activities using three-dimensional sequential skeleton data captured by the Kinect depth sensor. Many of these studies employ deep learning models. This study introduces a novel feature selection method for this data and analyzes it using machine learning models. Due to the high-dimensional nature of the original Kinect data, effective feature extraction methods are required to address the classification challenge. In this research, we propose using the first four moments as predictors to represent the distribution of joint sequences and evaluate their effectiveness using two datasets: The exergame dataset, consisting of three activities, and the MSR daily activity dataset, composed of ten activities. The results show that the accuracy of our approach outperforms existing methods on average across different classifiers.

인터넷 검색을 통한 암호화폐 수익률 및 변동성에 대한 인과검정: 적률인과 접근 (Tests for Causality from Internet Search to Return and Volatility of Cryptocurrency: Evidence from Causality in Moments)

  • Purpose This study analyzes whether Internet search of cryptocurrency has a causal relationship to return and volatility of cryptocurrency. Design/methodology/approach Google Trend was used as a measure of the level of Internet search, and the parametric tests of Granger causality in the 1st moment and the 2nd moment were adopted as the analysis method. We used Bitcoin's dollar-based price, which is the No. 1 market value among cryptocurrency. Findings The results showed that the Internet search measured by Google Trends has a causal relationship to cryptocurrency in both average and volatility, while there is a difference in causality and its degree according to the search area and category that Google Trend user should set. Because the Granger causality is based on the improvement of prediction, the analysis results of this study indicate that Internet search can be used as a leading indicator in predicting return and volatility of cryptocurrency.

특수선(特殊船) 설계(設計)에 관한 연구(硏究) -유조선(油槽船)의 천수중(淺水中)에서의 파랑하중(波浪荷重)- (On the Wave Load of Tanker Model in a Shallow Water)

  • The shearing forces and bending moments acting on the tanker model[1] of $C_B$ 0.82 in regular oblique waves of shallow water are investigated by numerical calculations. The new strip method was adopted. It is concluded that in the shallow water shearing forces and the bending moments acting on the tanker model are higher than those of deep water waves by the present numerical investigations. The wave bending moment at the midship section is roughly twice of deep water value in the shallow of H/T less than 2. in this calculation.
