This study intends to identify manufacturing techniques, including casting and alloy composition, of nine metal Buddha statues excavated from archaeological sites in Bagan, Myanmar. Two Buddha statues from Pyu city state(2nd to 9th century) contain Cu-Sn alloy(including <1 wt% Fe), with different relatively high percentages of Sn(16 wt% and 25 wt%) identified from each Buddha statue, and no Pb detected. Five Buddha statues from the Bagan dynasty contain various alloy ratios of Cu-Sn(including <1 wt% Pb), Cu-Sn-Pb, and Cu-Sn-Zn-Pb. All Buddha statues appear to be fabricated by casting, as there is no evidence of other heat treatments. The silver Buddha statue manufactured in the 18th century includes >1% Cu besides silver with no additional metallic components identified. The bronze Buddha statue manufactured in the Konbaung dynasty(18th century) is of Cu-Sn-Pb alloy. The Buddha statues of Pyu was alloy of Cu-Sn without Pb including ahigh percentage of The Buddha statues of both the Bagan and Konbaung dynasties are comprised of ternary Cu-Sn-Pb alloys, with a heterogeneous distribution of lead and tin. Some of Buddha statues of the Bagan dynasty have similar alloy ratios as those of Pyu, suggesting that similar manufacturing techniques were used.
The purpose of this study is to examine all kinds of Kwanmo of Kokuryo. The results are as follows . There are nine kinds of Kwanmo in Kokuryo : Kun(건), Chaik ( 책), Jeolpoong(절풍), Sogol (소골), Jowookwan (조익관), Rakwan (라관), Kagkwan(각관), Rip(립) and Jumdongkwan (금동관), Kun(건) is a piece of cloth which covers hair. There are two types of kun(건) : Hari band type and entire head cover type. Chaik(책) was originated in China , but people of Kokuryo didn't wore chinese Chaik (책) as it was. They created unique shape of their own. Jeolpoong (절풍) is the cone-shaped knwanmo which is chiefly made of leather. In the early period it was worn by the nobility , but gradually trickcled down common people's Kwanmo. Sogol(소골) is the cone -shaped Kwanmo which is made of silk and decorated with gold and silver. Only the nobility wore it, Jowookwan(조익관) is the knwanmo decorated with natural bird feather or metallic feather. Mainly it was worn by the nobility in hunting , Besides, worriors, diplomats, dancers and musicians wore it. Rakwan (나관) was worn by the highest class. There were three kinds of Rakwan (나관) : Baekrakwan(백나관). Cheongrakwan (청나관) and Birakwan (비나관). The king of Kokuryo wore BAekrakwan (백나관). It was simlar ini shape to chines Mookwan (무관). Kagkwan (각관) was the kwanmo unique to Kokuryo. It was used by the nobility . Rip (립)was originated on purpose to protect people form the sunshine or rain. There were two kinds of Rip(립) ; Bangrip (방립) and Pyungyangja(평량자). The former was used by the nobility, the lattr was used by common people in hunting . The Kwanmo which was decorated with gold and silver developed into Kumdongkwan(금동관). The Kwanmo which is similar to Kumkwan (금관) of Baekje and Shilla has been shown in Kaimachong (가마총) 무 dJumdongkwan(금동관) was excavated in the ancient tombs of Kokuryo.

Printed electronics using printing process has broadened in all respects such as electrics (lighting, batteries, solar cells etc) as well as electronics (OLED, LCD, E-paper, transistor etc). Copper is considered to be a promising alternative to silver for printed electronics, due to very high conductivity at a low price. However, Copper is easily oxidized, and its oxide is non-conductive. This is the highest hurdle for making copper inks, since the heat and humidity that occurs during ink making and printing simply accelerates the oxidation process. A variety of chemical treatments including organic capping agents and metallic coating have been used to slow this oxidation. We have established synthetic conditions of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) which are resistant to oxidation and average diameter of 20 to 50nm. Specific resistivity should be less than $4\;{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ when sintered at lower temperature than $250^{\circ}C$ to be able to apply to conductive patterns of FPCBs using ink-jet printing. Through this study, the parameters to control average diameter of CuNPs were found to be the introduction of additive agent, the feeding rate of reducing agent, and reaction temperature. The CuNPs with various average diameters (58, 40, 26, 20nm) could be synthesized by controlling these parameters. The dispersed solution of CuNPs with an average size of 20 nm was made with nonpolar solvent containing 3 wt% of binder, and then coated onto glass substrate. After sintering the coated substrates at $250^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes in nitrogen atmosphere, metallic copper film resulted in a specific resistivity of $4.2\;{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$.

Purpose: To evaluate marginal leakage of bulk fill flowable composite resin filling with different curing time by using microcomputed tomography technology. Materials and Methods: 30 previously extracted human molars were randomly divided into 6 groups based upon restorative system and different curing time. Class II cavities (vertical slot cavities) were prepared. An individual metallic matrix was used to build up the proximal wall. The SonicFill or SureFil SDR flow was inserted into the preparation by using 1 bulk increment, followed by light polymerization for different curing times. The different exposure times were 20, 40, and 60 seconds. All specimens were submitted to 5,000 thermal cycles for artificial aging. Micro-CT scanning was performed by using SkyScan 1272. One evaluator assessed microleakage of silver nitrated solution at the resin-dentin interface. The 3D image of each leakage around the restoration was reconstructed with CT-Analyser V.1.14.4. The leakage was analyzed with the Mann-Whitney test. Results: Significant differences were observed between the light curing times, but no significant differences were found between the bulk fill composite resins. Increasing in the photoactivation time resulted in greater microleakage in all the experimental groups. Those subjected to 60 seconds of light curing showed higher microleakage means than those exposed for 20 seconds and 40 seconds. Conclusion: Increasing the photoactivation time is factor that may increase marginal microlekage of the bulk fill composite resins. Further, micro-CT can nondestructively detect leakage around the resin composite restoration in three dimensions.
Recent studies on synthesis of metallic nanomaterials such as silver (Ag), gold (Au), platinum (Pt), cerium (Ce), zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu) nanoparticles (NPs) using plants and microbes are attracted researchers for their wide range of applications in the field of biomedical sciences. The plant contains abundant of bioactive contents such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, steroids tannins and nutritionals components. Similarly, microbes produce bioactive metabolites, proteins and secretes valuable chemicals such as color pigments, antibiotics, and acids. Recently reported, biogenic synthesis of NPs in non-hazardous way and are promising candidates for biomedical applications such as antibacterial, antifungal, anti-cell proliferative and anti-plasmodia activity. All those activities are dose dependent, along with their shape and size also matters on potential of NPs. Microbes and plants are great source of metabolites, those useful in biomedical field, such metabolites or chemicals involved in synthesis of NPs in an ecofriendly way. NPs synthesized using microbes or plant materials are reveals more non-toxic, facile, and cost-effective compare to chemically synthesized NPs. In present review we are focusing on NPs synthesis using biological agents such as microbes (bacteria, fungi and algae) and plant, characterization using different techniques and their antibacterial applications on pathogenic Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms.

The metal component of Chinese and Korean traditional gold thread was analyzed nondestructively using P-XRF and classified morphologically. In the nondestructive analysis of 22 Chinese and Korean artifacts, there were 10 gold threads made up of Au in China and 7 in Korea; in addition, there were 4 silver threads made up of Ag in Korea and 1 copper thread made up of Cu in China. In the morphological classification, 7 gilt paper strips were confirmed in China and Korea and 4 wrapped threads were identified in China and Korea. Zn, Sn and Fe (minor components of the threads) were detected. These components were assumed to be transferred from the metal found in burial goods.
Electrodes are an important part of electrocardiography (ECG); disposable electrodes have been extensively used. However, personal ECG monitoring devices for Internet of Things applications require reusable electrodes. As there have been no systematic studies on the characteristics of reusable electrodes to date, we conducted this study to assess the performance and feasibility of electrodes with different materials. We built reusable electrodes using twelve different metallic materials, including commonly used copper, silver, zinc, plating materials, chemically inert titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum. Each electrode was fabricated to a size of $5{\times}10mm$. Their characteristics such as offset, baseline drift, stabilization time, and chemical inertness were compared. A personal ECG monitoring system was used to test the manufactured electrodes. The performances of the Ag, Cu, and Zn electrodes were better than the performances of other electrodes. However, these materials may not be used owing to the chemical changes that occur when the electrodes are in contact with the skin, such as discoloration and corrosion, which deteriorate their electrical characteristics. Titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum are chemically stable. The titanium electrode showed the best performance among the three, and it is our recommendation as a material for manufacturing reusable electrodes.

The power relay can easily control high voltage and high current through metallic contacts. In addition, it has the advantage in reasonable price. So it has been used in many applications. But the power relay has a weak point by mechanical movements. These mechanical movements cause the bouncing phenomenon. Arc and bouncing phenomenon are the main causes of electric abrasion and material erosion. In this study, mechanical repetitive experiments and repetitive experiments in electrically connected state are conducted. Then these two experimental results in terms of bouncing phenomenon and changes in the contact surface are compared. In all number of repetitions, contacts in an electrically connected state cause smaller number of bounce. Also, It has lower contents of silver on eroded surface than the other. The experimental results would be helpful to the further study of contacts life span.
A semi-empirical method to estimate the surface tension of molten alloys at different oxygen partial pressures is suggested in this study. The surface tension of molten Ag-Sn and Ag-Cu alloys were calculated using the Butler equation with the surface tension value of pure substance at a given oxygen partial pressure. The oxygen partial pressure ranges were $2.86{\times}10^{-12}$-$1.24{\times}10^{-9}$ Pa for the Ag-Sn system and $2.27{\times}10^{-11}$-$5.68{\times}10^{-4}$ Pa for the Ag-Cu system. In this calculation, the interactions of the adsorbed oxygen with other metallic constituents were ignored. The calculated results of the Ag-Sn alloys were in reasonable accordance with the experimental data within a difference of 8%. For the Ag-Cu alloy system at a higher oxygen partial pressure, the surface tension initially decreased but showed a minimum at $X_{Ag}$ = 0.05 to increase as the silver content increased. This behavior appears to be related to the oxygen adsorption and the corresponding surface segregation of the constituent with a lower surface tension. Nevertheless, the calculated results of the Ag-Cu alloys with the present model were in good agreement with the experimental data within a difference of 10%.
