염산수용액의 농도별 간이 영향 평가 방법 연구 (A Study on the Simplified Estimating Method of Off-site Consequence Analysis by Concentration of Hydrochloric Acid)

  • One of the most important elements of the management of chemical accident is threat zone estimation of fires, explosions and toxic gas dispersion based on chemical releases. The threat zone estimation is going to be standard of emergency response for the first defender and base line data of off-site risk assesment (hereinafter referred to as "ORA") and risk management plan (hereinafter referred to as "RMP"). Generally, ALOHA form EPA(U.S.) and Kora(from KOREA MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT) has been used for the off-site consequence analysis in Korea. However it is hard to predict accurate consequences rapidly in case of emergency. Hydrochloric acid is a multipurpose raw material used in many industrial applications such as chemical, metal and food industries. It is usually treated in concentrations from 10 ~ 35 %, and release accident have occurred frequently. In this study, we have developed a simplified estimating method and equation to calculate threat zone easily in case of emergency due to release accident of hydrochloric acid.

Inorganic Printable Materials for Thin-Film Transistors: Conductor and Semiconductor

  • For the past a few years, we have intensively researched the printable inorganic conductors and ZnO-based amorphous oxide semiconductors (AOSs) for thin-film transistors. For printable conductor materials, we have focused on the aqueous Ag and Cu ink which possess a variety of advantages, comparing with the conventional metal inks based on organic solvent system. The aqueous Ag ink was designed to achieve the long-term dispersion stability using a specific polymer which can act as a dispersant and capping agent, and the aqueous Cu ink was carefully formulated to endow the oxidation stability in air and even aqueous solvent system. The both inks were successfully printed onto either polymer or glass substrate, exhibiting the superior conductivity comparable to that of bulk one. For printable ZnO-based AOSs, we have researched the noble way to resolve the critical problem, a high processing-temperature above $400^{\circ}C$, and recently discovered that Ga doping in ZnO-based AOSs promotes the formation of oxide lattice structures with oxygen vacancies at low annealing-temperatures, which is essential for acceptable thin-film transistor performance. The mobility dependence on annealing temperature and AOS composition was analyzed, and the chemical role of Ga are clarified, as are requirements for solution-processed, low-temperature annealed AOSs.

페라이트 촉매의 K 첨가효과와 에틸벤젠의 탈수소반응 (The Effects of K-Addition and the Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Ethylbenzene on Ferrite Catalysts)

  • 몇 종류의 산화물을 혼합하여 그 장점들이 촉매의 특성으로 나타나도록 하는 복합산화물 촉매의 한 종류로서 스피넬 구조를 이루는 Mg- 및 Bn-페라이트를 촉매로 선정하여 K 첨가에 따른 물성을 분석하고 페라이트상에서 에틸벤젠의 탈수소반응에 대하여 연구하였다. 촉매의 특성분석에는 XRD, BET법, DTA, XPS, TEM, TPD 등의 분석기법을 사용하였다. 페라이트 촉매에 대한 K 첨가 효과를 검토하기 위하여 물성을 종합적으로 분석한 결과, K는 입자의 분산도를 향상시키는 구조적 조촉매로서의 역할과 함께 전자를 공급하는 조촉매로서 작용하였으며, K의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 산점이 중화되어 그 세기가 약해지면서 산점의 농도는 증가하였다. 반응성을 연구한 결과 페라이트 촉매에 첨가된 K는 강한 산점을 중화시켜 탈수소 반응에 적합한 세기의 산점을 형성하여 스티렌의 선택도를 일정하게 유지하였다.

가시광 활성 WO3-TiO2 복합체 광촉매의 제조 및 이의 특성 평가 (Preparation of WO3-TiO2 Photocatalyst and Evaluation of Its Photo-activity in the Visible Light Range)

  • The most general photocatalyst, $TiO_2$ and $WO_3$, are acknowledged to be ineffective in range of visible light. Therefore, many efforts have been directed at improving their activity such as: band-gap narrowing with non-metal element doping and making composites with high specific surface area to effectively separate electrons and holes. In this paper, the method was introduced to prepare a photo-active catalyst to visible irradiation by making a mixture with $TiO_2$ and $WO_3$. In the $TiO_2-WO_3$ composite, $WO_3$ absorbs visible light creating excited electrons and holes while some of the excited electrons move to $TiO_2$ and the holes remain in $WO_3$. This charge separation reduces electron-hole recombination resulting in an enhancement of photocatalytic activity. Added Ag plays the role of electron acceptor, retarding the recombination rate of excited electrons and holes. In making a mixture of $TiO_2-WO_3$ composite, the mixing route affects the photocatalytic activity. The planetary ball-mill method is more effective than magnetic stirring route, owing to a more effective dispersion of aggregated powders. The volume ratio of $TiO_2(4)$ and $WO_3(6)$ shows the most effective photocatalytic activity in the range of visible light in the view point of effective separation of electrons and holes.

차단주파수 영역 도파관 등가회로 모델을 이용한 Gap-Coupled NRD Guide 대역통과 여파기의 설계 (A Gap Coupled NRD-Guide Filter Designed with an Equivalent Circuir Model of Evanescent Waveguide)

  • 밀러미터 내역(30~300GHz)의 전파에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 저손실 특성을 갖는 Nonradiative Dielectric(NRD) 도파로에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. NRD 도파로는 분산특성이나 유전체 내의 필드 분포 형태로 볼 때 양 측면의 전도체가 없는 유전체가 채워진 도파관과 유사하므로 도파관으로 구현되는 대부분의 소자들은 NRD도파로를 이용하여 구현할 수 있다. 기존의 gap-coupled NRD guide 대역통과 여파기의 설계에서는 갭(gap) 영역의 임피던스를 Variational Method를 이용하여 해석하였으나 본 논문에서는 갭 영역을 차단영역 도파관의 등가회로 모델로 대치하여 해석함으로써 설계과정을 간단히 하였다. 또 이러한 설계 방법을 미리미터 대역의 필터에 적용하기 전에 시험적으로 중심 주파수가 10GHz인 대역통과 필터(3-Pole, 0.1dB ripple, 2% bandwidth)를 설계, 제작하였다. 측정한 결과느느 HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator)로 시뮬레이션 한 결과와 제작의 오차범위 내에서 일치하였다.

Electrospun Antimicrobial Polyurethane Nanofibers Containing Silver Nanoparticles for Biotechnological Applications

  • In this study, a new class of polyurethane (PU) nanofibers containing silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) was synthesized by electrospinning. A simple method that did not depending on additional foreign chemicals was used to self synthesize the silver NPs in/on PU nanofibers. The synthesis of silver NPs was carried out by exploiting the reduction ability of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), which is used mainly to decompose silver nitrate to silver NPs. Typically, a sol-gel consisting of $AgNO_3$/PU was electrospun and aged for one week. Silver NPs were created in/on PU nanofibers. SEM confirmed the well oriented nanofibers and good dispersion of pure silver NPs. TEM indicated that the Ag NPs were 5 to 20 nm in diameter. XRD demonstrated the good crystalline features of silver metal. The mechanical properties of the nanofiber mats showed improvement with increasing silver NPs content. The fixedness of the silver NPs obtained on PU nanofibers was examined by harsh successive washing of the as-prepared mats using a large amount of water. The results confirmed the good stability of the synthesized nanofiber mats. Two model organisms, E. coli and S. typhimurium, were used to check the antimicrobial influence of these nanofiber mats. Subsequently, antimicrobial tests indicated that the prepared nanofibers have a high bactericidal effect. Accordingly, these results highlight the potential use of these nanofiber mats as antimicrobial agents.

PTA법에 의한 Al 합금표면의 Si 합금층 형성과 내마모성 개선 (Improvement of Wear Resistance and Formation of Si Alloyed Layer on Aluminum Alloy by PTA Process)

  • The formation of thick alloyed layer with high Si content have been investigated on the surface of Al alloy (A5083) plate by PTA process with Si powder. Hardening characteristics and wear resistance of alloyed layer was examined in relation to the microstructure of alloyed layer. Thick hardened layer in mm-order thickness on the surface of A5083 plate can be formed by PTA process with wide range of process condition by using Si powder as alloying element because of eutectic reaction of Al-Si binary alloy. High temperature and rapid solidification rate of molten pool, which are features of PTA process, enable the formation of high Si content alloyed layer with uniform distribution of fine primary Si paticle. High plasma arc current was beneficial to make the alloyed layer with smooth surface appearance in wide range of powder feeding rate, because enough volume of molten pool was necessary make alloyed layer. Uniform dispersion of fine primary Si particle with about 30${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in particle size can be obtained in layer with Si content ranging from 30 to 50 mass %. Hardness of alloyed layer increased with increasing Si content, but increasing rate of hardness differed with macrostructure of alloyed layer. Wear resistance of alloyed layer depended on $V_{si}$(volume fraction of primary Si) and was remarkably improved to two times of base metal at 20-30% $V_{si}$ without cracking, but no more improvement was obtained at larger $V_{si}$.

주상실험을 통한 연속식 반응벽체에서의 복합오염물질 제거능 평가 (Column Test for Evaluation on Removal Efficiency of Heavy Metal and Nutrients by Double Layered Permeable Reactive Barrier)

  • 지하수 내에 영양염류와 중금속 등의 오염물질이 동시에 존재하는 경우 두 가지 이상의 반응성 매질을 적용한 연속식 반응벽체공법이 적용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 영양염류 오염물질인 암모늄과 인산염, 그리고 중금속인 카드뮴의 복합오염물질의 제거를 위해 제올라이트와 제강슬래그를 반응성 매질로 구성한 연속식 반응벽체공법의 적용성을 평가하였다. 흐름 조건을 모사한 주상실험을 수행하여 제올라이트와 제강슬래그와의 연속반응에 의한 오염물질의 제거효과를 평가하였다. 주상실험결과는 비평형 이류확산 모델을 적용하여 주상실험에서의 비평형 반응을 해석하였다. 주상실험을 통해 제올라이트는 암모늄 제거에 효과적이며 제강슬래그는 인산염과 카드뮴 제거에 효과적임을 확인하였으며, 연속식 반응벽체 구성 시 제올라이트와 제강슬래그 순서로 반응시키는 조건이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

전철 탑재형 피뢰기의 모듈설계 및 성능평가기술 (Module Design and Performance Evaluation of Surge Arrester for Loading In Railway Rolling Stock)

  • The main objective of this paper is to design and test a new type of polymer ZnO surge arrester for AC power system of railroad vehicles. Metal oxide surge arrester for most electric power system applications, electric train and subway are now being used extensively to protect overvoltage due to lightning. Surge arresters with porcelain housing must not have explosive breakage of the housing to minimize damage to other equipment when subjected to internal high short circuit current. When breakdown of ZnO elements in a surge arrester occurs due to flashover, fault short current flows through the arrestor and internal pressure of the arrester rises. The pressure rise can usually be limited by fitting a pressure relief diaphragm and transferring the arc from the inside to the outside of the housing. However, there is possibility of porcelain fragmentation caused by the thermal shock, pressure rise. etc. Non-fragmenting of the housing is the most desired way to prevent damage to other equipment. The pressure change which is occurred by flashover become discharge energy. This discharge energy raises to damage arrester housing and arrester housing is dispersed as small fragment. Therefore, the pressure relief design is requested to obstruct housing dispersion. The main research works are focused on the structure design by finite element method, pressure relief of module, and studies of performance of surge arrester for electric railway vehicle.

무전해 도금법으로 제조된 구리 함유 활성탄소섬유 촉매의 제조와 NO 제거 반응성 평가 (Preparation of Electroless Copper Plated Activated Carbon Fiber Catalyst and Reactive Evaluation of NO Removal)

  • 피치계 활성탄소섬유가 납사분해 잔사유를 개질하여 용융 방사하고, 산화, 탄화 및 스팀으로 활성화하여 제조되었다. 활성탄소섬유의 표면은 주석-팔라듐을 사용하여 단일 스텝에 의해 예민화 과정을 거쳤다. 예민화된 활성탄소섬유 표면에 무전해도금법을 사용하여 구리를 골고루 담지하였다. 도금시간을 증가시켜서 구리의 담지량을 변화시키고, BET, SEM, XRD 및 ICP를 이용하여 촉매 특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 도금시간에 따라 부가된 구리의 양은 증가하나, 기공부피와 비표면적은 감소하였다. 또한 반응 온도가 증가함에 따라 NO 제거 성능이 증가하였다. $300^{\circ}C$ 이상의 반응 온도에서 부가된 구리의 양이 증가하면 표면적의 감소와 구리 분산도의 감소 때문에 NO 제거 성능은 감소하는 결과를 얻었다.
