컴포넌트 참조 모델의 기술적 비교 평가 (Technical Assessment of Component Reference Models)

  • 컴포넌트 기반 개발 (CBD) 기술은 객체 보다 더 큰 컴포넌트 단위의 재사용을 통하여 개발 생산성을 높이는 재사용 기술이다. 그러나, CBD 컴포넌트의 구성요소와 의미를 정의하는 참조 모델이 국제적으로나 산업계에서 표준화되지 못하고 있어 CBD 플랫폼간의 상호연동과 이식성 문제가 있으며, 또한 개발자에게 어떤 모델을 채택해야 할 것인지의 신중한 결정을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 컴포넌트 참조모델들에 대한 정형적 뷰(View)인 메타 모델을 정의하고, 이를 기반으로 기술적인 상호 비교를 제시함으로써 각 기술의 장ㆍ단점 및 특징을 규명한다. 또한, 비교 평가를 통해 모든 컴포넌트가 공통적이며 필수적으로 만족해야 하는 핵심(Essential) 컴포넌트 모델과 최대한 다양한 장치와 구성요소를 가지는 확장(Extended) 컴포넌트 모델을 제시하여 상용 컴포넌트 모델들과의 객관적인 연관 관계 및 각 모델에 대한 정확한 평가를 할 수 있게 한다.

Effects of Two Chemotherapy Regimens, Anthracycline-based and CMF, on Breast Cancer Disease Free Survival in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and Asia: A Meta-Analysis Approach for Survival Curves

  • Background: To compare the effects of two adjuvant chemotherapy regimens, anthracycline-based and cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, fluorourical (CMF) on disease free survival for breast cancer patients in the Eastern Mediterranean region and Asia. Methods: In a systematic review with a multivariate mixed model meta-analysis, the reported survival proportion at multiple time points in different studies were combined. Our data sources were studies linking the two chemotherapy regimens on an adjuvant basis with disease free survival published in English and Persian in the Eastern Mediterranean region and Asia. All survival curves were generated with Graphdigitizer software. Results: 14 retrospective cohort studies were located from electronic databases. We analyzed data for 1,086 patients who received anthracycline-based treatment and 1,109 given CMF treatment. For determination of survival proportions and time we usesb the transformation Ln (-Ln(S)) and Ln (time) to make precise estimations and then fit the model. All analyses were carried out with STATA software. Conclusions: Our findings showed a significant efficacy of anthracycline-based adjuvant therapy regarding disease free survival of breast cancer. As a limitation in this meta-analysis we used studies with different types of anthracycline-based regimens.

수요지향 교과과정 개발을 위한 3차원 기반의 메타모델 설계 기법 (A Design Technique of 3D-based Meta-model for Development of Demand-Oriented Curriculum)

  • 대학에서 배출하는 IT 인력과 산업체에서 요구하는 인력의 질적 수준 간에 많은 차이가 발생함으로 인해서 인력의 공급과 수요의 불균형을 초래하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 정보통신부에서는 IT 교과과정과 교과목을 설계하여 대학에 시범적으로 제시하는 사업을 전개하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 교과과정 개발 과정에 있어서 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스와 메타 모델 기반의 교과목 설계 기법을 제시한다. 이러한 기법은 이미 그 확장성이나 유연성, 그리고 품질 향상을 가져오고 있음이 이미 소프트웨어 공학에서 증명되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 접근을 적용함으로써 개발되는 교과 과정이나 교과목의 품질 및 확장성을 유도하리라 기대한다.

녹차의 항-당뇨 효과에 대한 메타회귀분석 (Meta-regression analysis for anti-diabetic effect of green tea)

  • 본 연구는 메타분석을 이용하여 녹차를 투여한 당뇨 유발 쥐들의 체중과 혈액 내 혈당량, 총 콜레스테롤, 중성지방, 고농도지단백 콜레스테롤의 평균비교를 통해 녹차의 항-당뇨 효과에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 헤지의 표준화된 평균차에서 고정효과모형을 적용한 결과 체중은 통계적으로 유의한 증가를 보였으며, 혈액 내 혈당량과 중성지방은 통계적으로 유의한 감소를 보였다. 동질성 검정을 통해 이질성을 보인 모든 변수에 대해 랜덤효과모형을 적용시킨 결과 체중은 유의한 증가를 보였으며, 혈액 내 혈당량은 유의한 감소를 보였다. 또한 녹차의 투여기간이 변수에 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 메타회귀분석을 실시한 결과 모든 변수에 대해 녹차의 투여기간이 유의하지 않았다.

  • Meta-analysis refers to quantitative methods for combining results from independent studies in order to draw overall conclusions. We consider hierarchical models including selection models under a skewed heavy tailed error distribution and it is shown to be useful in such Bayesian meta-analysis. A general class of skewed elliptical distribution is reviewed and developed. These rich class of models combine the information of independent studies, allowing investigation of variability both between and within studies, and weight function. Here we investigate sensitivity of results to unobserved studies by considering a hierarchical selection model and use Markov chain Monte Carlo methods to develop inference for the parameters of interest.

이식성을 위한 메타데이터 기반의 CDSS 구축 (Implementation of Meta Data-based Clinical Decision Support System for the Portability)

  • A model for expressing meta data syntax in the eXtensible Markup Language(XML) was developed to increase the portability of the Arden Syntax in medical treatment. In this model that is Arden syntax uses two syntax checking mechanisms, first an XML validation process, and second, a syntax check using an XSL style sheet. Two hundred seventy-seven examples of MLMs were transformed into MLMs in ArdenML and validated against the schema and style sheet. Both the original MLMs and reverse-parsed MLMs in ArdenML were checked using a Arden Syntax checker. The textual versions of MLMs were successfully transformed into XML documents using the model, and the reverse-parse yielded the original text version of MLMs.

  • Given a number of training data, a traditional BPN is normally trained by minimizing the absolute difference between target outputs and approximate outputs. When BPN is used as a meta-model for inequality constraint function, approximate optimal solutions are sometimes actually infeasible in a case where they are active at the constraint boundary. The paper describes the development of the efficient BPN based meta-model that enhances the constraint feasibility of approximate optimal solution. The modified BPN based meta-model is obtained by including the decision condition between lower/upper bounds of a constraint and an approximate value. The proposed approach is verified through a simple mathematical function and a ten-bar planar truss problem.

Association of mir-499 and mir-149 Polymorphisms with Cancer Risk in the Chinese Population: Evidence from Published Studies

  • Meta-analyses have shown that microRNA polymorphisms have variable effects in different population. Yet, no meta-analysis investigated the association of two common polymorphisms of miRNA, mir-499 rs3746444 polymorphism and mir-149 rs2292832 polymorphism, with cancer risk in the Chinese population. We searched the PubMed, Web of Knowledge, MEDLINE, CNKI databases, as well as Cochrane library, updated on December 31, 2012 for assays regarding cancer risk association with these two common polymorphisms in the present meta-analysis. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were used to explore the strength of associations. The results showed that rs3746444 polymorphism was associated with increased cancer risk (dominant model: GG/AG vs. AA: OR = 1.43, 95% CI: 1.14-1.80; recessive model: GG vs. AG/AA: OR = 1.54, 95% CI: 1.04-2.30; homozygote model: GG vs. AA: OR = 1.69, 95% CI: 1.10-2.60; heterozygote model: AG vs. AA: OR = 1. 35, 95% CI: 1.09-1.67), and rs3746444 was associated with liver cancer in the subgroup of cancer types. For the rs2292832 polymorphism, the results showed no significant risk association in both overall pooled analysis and subgroup of cancer types, smoking status, gender and tea drinking status in the Chinese population. This meta-analysis suggested that the rs3746444 GG genotype is associated with increased cancer risk, especially liver cancer, while the rs2292832 polymorphism showed no association with cancer risk in Chinese.

MTHFR Gene Polymorphisms are Not Involved in Pancreatic Cancer Risk: A Meta-analysis

  • Purpose: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene polymorphisms have been reported to be associated with pancreatic cancer, but the published studies have yielded inconsistent results. This study assessed the relationship between MTHFR gene polymorphisms and the risk for pancreatic cancer using a meta-analysis approach. Methods:A search of Google scholar, PubMed, Cochrane Library and CNKI databases before April 2012 was performed, and then associations of the MTHFR polymorphisms with pancreatic cancer risk were summarized. The association was assessed by odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Publication bias was also calculated. Results: Four relative studies on MTHFR gene polymorphisms (C667T and A1298C) were included in this meta-analysis. Overall, C667T (TT vs. CC:OR=1.61,95%CI=0.78-3.34; TT vs. CT: OR=1.41,95%CI=0.88-2.25; Dominant model:OR=0.68,95%CI=0.40-1.17; Recessive model: OR=0.82,95%CI=0.52-1.30) and A1298C (CC vs. AA:OR=1.01,95%CI=0.47-2.17; CC vs. AC: OR=0.99,95%CI=0.46-2.14; Dominant model:OR=1.01, 95%CI=0.47-2.20; Recessive model: OR=1.01,95%CI=0.80-1.26) did not increase pancreatic cancer risk. Conclusions: This meta-analysis indicated that MTHFR polymorphisms (C667T and A1298C) are not associated with pancreatic cancer risk.

Association between the Epidermal Growth Factor 61*A/G Polymorphism and Hepatocellular Carcinoma Risk: a Meta-Analysis

  • The epidermal growth factor (EGF) may play a pathological role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the conclusions of published reports on the relationship between the EGF $61^*A/G$ polymorphism and HCC risk remain controversial. To derive a more precise estimation we performed a meta-analysis based on 14 studies that together included 2,506 cases and 4,386 controls. PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Knowledge and the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases were used to retrieve articles up to August 1, 2014. The crude odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated to evaluate the association. Meta-analysis results showed a significant association between the EGF $61^*A/G$ polymorphism and HCC risk in all four genetic models (allele model: OR=1.25, 95%CI=1.12-1.40; dominant model: OR=1.32, 95%CI=1.14-1.54; recessive model: OR=1.33, 95%CI=1.12-1.58; ho-mozygous model: OR=1.59, 95%CI=1.33-1.90). Moreover, significant associations were observed when stratified by ethnicity, source of controls, etiology and genotype methods. Thus, this meta-analysis suggests that the G-allele of the EGF $61^*A/G$ polymorphism is associated with an increased risk of HCC, especially in Asians and Caucasians, without influence from the source of controls or etiological diversity. Further studies with larger population sizes are needed to confirm these results.
