It is thought that Kim Hong-kyeong followed the existing theory of Meridian(經絡) and supplemented his unique perspectives in interpreting it. And he tried to relate Meridian with hygiene of mind. I took up with the research on the assumption that the review of Kim's method can present new perspectives to the study of relationship between Meridian and hygiene of mind. The results of my study are as follows: 1. Kim followed common theory of Meridian and then added his unique perspectives to it. His method of interpretation has one characteristic. By introducing Idealism(唯心論), he understood 'Meridian' as the path of the mind and the emotion. Especially I think his hypothesis that acupuncture can be widely used in mental diseases as well as body related diseases and its applications to treatment are very valuable. 2. Meridian and hygiene of mind are close together. I think Kim's unique trial is something new in studying relationship between Meridian and hygiene of mind but requires more research on it.

ZhangSanRoei's "NanKyungHeoJuJenJung" is a book which is composed of 'HeoJu'(collection of traditional explanations) and 'JenJung'(his own ideas). In this research, I considerd of "NanKyungHeoJuJenJung"'s theory of 'meridian' mainly by the original text. ZhangSanRoei said that it is right in the traditional theory that the 12 channel is always arranged 'pulse', and 'kikyung 8 channel' is subsidiary, so both of them are important. But, he was influenced by western medicine, he criticized that 12 channels' lenth is 16zhang2chuk, and are stared in 'Sutaeyinpaekyung' and left kidney right myungmun theory.

Objectives This review was conducted to evaluate effectiveness and safety of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) with meridian and acupoint theory for adhesive capsulitis. Methods By December 2021, 11 electronic databases were reviewed with the key words 'extracorporeal shock wave' and '(acupuncture OR acupoint OR meridian)'. This key words was set up to increase the sensitivity of the search. After the search, adhesive capsulitis study was selected based on the title and abstract and then included after full-texts were read. Results Five randomized controlled trials were eligible in our inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis of 3 studies showed positive results for the using ESWT with meridian and acupoint theory for adhesive capsulitis compared with the control group on efficancy rate and range of shoulder flexion. Conclusions Some studies showed ESWT with meridian and acupoint theory were statistically effective to adhesive capsulitis. But the evidence is limited due to the defective design of the included randomized controlled trials (RCTs). So use of ESWT with meridian and acupoint theory for adhesive capsulitis has limited evidence. More well-designed RCTs are required to provide clearer evidence for this claim.

Meridian surfaces in the Euclidean 4-space are two-dimensional surfaces which are one-parameter systems of meridians of a standard rotational hypersurface. On the base of our invariant theory of surfaces we study meridian surfaces with special invariants. In the present paper we give the complete classification of Chen meridian surfaces and meridian surfaces with parallel normal bundle.

Objective : Zhang zhi-cong insisted the theory related to the 'Six-meridian qi transformation', and Zhen xiu-yuan inherited that theory understanding six-meridian disease of "Shang-Han-Lun". This emphasizes that the disease of 'three yin and three yang' in "Shang-Han-Lun" is a disease caused by Six-meridian qi transformation, not a lesion of meridian itself. He said, "If you do not know brightly in the 'Tip, Root and Middle qi', you can not read the "Shang-Han-Lun"." Therefore, in this paper, we examine the interpretation of the "Shang-Han-Lun"by using the theory of 'five circuits and six qi'. Method : First, extract sentences related to 'Tip, Root and Middle qi' from the sentences of "Shang-Han-Lun" Second, the sentence is interpreted through the Zhen xiu-yuan's "Sang han lun qian zhu". Third, the meaning of the sentence is examined and summarized. Result : Zhen xiu-yuan proposed a clear and systematic theory that can understand the meaning of Six-meridian in "Shang-Han-Lun", by utilizing the discipline that 'Tip, Root and Middle qi' Conclusion : The change of 'Tip, Root and Middle qi' is a very central theory that explains the properties of 'Yin and Yang' and mutual correspondence among Korean medicine theories. It also provides basic directions for understanding the changing patterns of disease.

본 논문에서는 경락의 실체를 객관화하기 위한 방법으로서, 경락과 비경락을 음향 자극하고 인체의 임피던스 변화를 분석하였으며, 인체 에너지에 대한 고전 동양의학 이론인 경락순행통로 학설의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 경락지하수 학설을 제안하였다. 현대의학의 주장과 같이 경락은 그 존재를 증명할 만한 채널이나 파이프 형태의 해부학적 실체를 가지고 있지 않다. 그러나 생체에너지는 인체 안에서 관상구조없이 지하를 흐르는 지하수 흐름과 유사하게 경락을 따라 흐른다. 이러한 모델의 반응특성을 확인하기 위하여, 인체의 경락을 지하수가 흐르는 관로로 보고 지하수를 탐지하는 산업용 음향탐사기법을 적용하기 위하여, 피부와 청각을 구분하여 음향자극하고 경혈과 대조적인 비경혈에서의 인체 임피던스 반응을 분석하였다. 특히 자극 음향과 12경락과의 주파수 상관성을 추출하기 위하여, 5개의 특정 음으로 자극하고 측정전류의 평균치와 변화율을 처리하였다. 분석결과 전류 변화율은 족궐음간경(宮), 수소음심경(商) 30.6%, 족소음신경(角) 33.1%, 족태음비경(徵) 33.9%, 수태음폐경(羽) 30.7%로 대조점과 구별되는 특성을 가지고 있어서, 경락은 비경락과 구별되는 채널 특성을 나타내고 있으며 5개 경락은 5개의 특정 음과 상관성이 있음을 확인하였다.

Objectives : The pain was induced on upper and lower incisor of the rat based on the theory of 'connections of upper incisor pain with stomach meridian and lower incisor pain with large intestine meridian'. Such acupoints as LI4 and ST36 were used for alleviation of upper and lower incisor pain. Methods : The digastric myogram (dEMG) was utilized for the pain measurement. Results : The ST36 acupuncture after induction of upper incisor pain was gradually decreased or increased the dEMG. The LI4 acupuncture after induction of upper incisor pain was gradually decreased the dEMG. The ST36+LI4 acupuncture after induction of upper incisor pain was gradually decreased the dEMG. We knew this thing which the ST36+LI4 acupuncture decreased the dEMG most greatly and kept long compared to ST36 acupuncture, LI4 acupuncture. Conclusions : Acupuncture treatment at the loci of not only ST36 acupuncture but LI4 acupuncture were relieved the upper incisor pain. It was well suitable to the theory 'connections of upper incisor pain with stomach meridian' that ST36 acupuncture decreased the upper incisor pain. But there was not to decrease the dEMG for the ST36 acupuncture. We are considered as tracing study continuously about ST36 acupuncture. It was not suitable to the theory 'connections of upper incisor pain with stomach meridian' that LI4 acupuncture decreased the upper incisor pain. These results was considered as the function by the characteristic of the LI4 acupoint.

Objectives : The Primo system is a hypothesis on the new circulation system. It orginates from Bonghan theory. Bonghan theory is about the anatomical substance of acupuncture point and meridian system. It has been regarded as a misunderstanding of the lymphatic system or as a made-up story for the past 40 years. Since 2002, many studies have been published either to support the theory or to refute the old viewpoint. But there are still difficulties about the proper sampling. The purpose of this study is to find out the discriminative criteria of Organ Surface Primo sytem by reviewing the Kim Bonghan's publications. Methods : Abstract of description about the Organ Surface Primo system in 5 publications of Kim Bonghan are weighted by the reverse order of publication. Results and Conclusions : 6 characters of anatomical structure and 11 characters of histological structure are founded as repeated descriptions. We hope that this summarized characteristics would be a good guide to Primo system experiments.

Sasang Constitution Medicine(SCM)'s researches have been developed in many ways, especially Herbal medicine prescriptions and diagnosis. But there are no acceptable acupuncture theory for the Sasang Constitution. So We have tried to find the way for identifying each Sasang Constitution's acupuncture point on more reasonable methods. We studied that SCM acupuncture based on collecting Books of "Shanghanlun(傷寒論)", or Six-meridian pattern identification's acupuncture prescription. Selected books are "The Acupuncture and Moxibustion(침구학)", "Zhonghua Zhenjiuxue(中華鍼灸學)", "Zhenjiuxinchuan(鍼灸心傳)", "Shanghanlun Zhenjiupeixuexuanzhu(傷寒論鍼灸配穴選注)". So-eumin uses Conception Vessel's acupuncture points most frequently. And So-yangin and Tae-eumin use Bladder meridian and Stomach meridian's acupuncture points most. Moxibustion is used many times for So-eumin, especially at three Yin-Symptoms(三陰病). Orders for using frequencies of three Sasang constitutions' acupuncture points are: So-eumin uses ST36 CV12 CV4 most, So-yangin uses PC6 ST36 LI4 most, Tae-eumin uses ST36 LU7 CV12 most. Acupuncture for Sasang constitutions has been developed for many ways, but there are no generally acceptable theory. So we need to hold a committee for SCM and acupuncture specialist to establish acceptable and reasonable SCM acupuncture theory.

This study analyze of reflection wave to Acoustic stimulation on acupoints and contrast parts for objectification of the meridian substance. In order to verify meridian pathway and channel theory of bio-energy in body. It was analyzed response characteristic of reflection waves after acoustic stimulation by sound wave of 5 specific tones. The response characteristics of reflection are measured by the average current magnitude of meridian. The current variation ratio are Live Meridian(gung) 33.2%, Heart Meridian(sang) 30.7%, Kidney Meridian (gak) 33.1%, Spleen Meridian(chi) 33.9%, Lung Meridian (wo) 30.7% compare with contrast parts (non-acupoint and meridian). Therefore meridian is distinguished to non-meridian and 5 vital meridians have relationship with sound wave of 5 specific tones.
