The magnetic and metallurgical characteristics of Mischmetal(MM) -Ferroboron (FeB) Permanent magnets have been investigated by X-ray diffractometer, scanning and transmission electron microscope and vibrating sample magnetometer under hot-pressing and die-upsetting process. The best magnetic properties obtained in these studies were $H_c$=5.8 kOe, $B_r$=5.0 kG with $(BH)_{max}=7.6 MGOe for melt-spun ribbons, $H_c$=3.0 kOe, $B_r$=4.6 kG with $(BH)_{max}$=2.9 MGOe for hot-pressed magnets and $H_c$=1.8 kOe, $B_r$=5.5 kG with $(BH)_{max}$=4.1 MGOe for die-upset magnets. The higher magnetic properties in die-upset magnets were resulted from alignment of the c-axis along the die-upsetting direction.
Our team works on mixture of hard magnetic materials. As hard magnetic material we used mixture of powders: melt-spun ribbon Nd-Fe-B, ferrite and Alnico. Their different mixtures are basic material for dielectromagnets under our investigation. Main disadvantage of dielectromagnets with Nd-Fe-B alloy powder as a component is a low corrosion resistance. Protection against corrosion is covering dielectromagnets with metallic or organic coating film. The coating film protects dielectromagnets from free particles on the surface and low resistance for mechanical stresses too. The surface of dielectromagnets prepared from mixture of powders if formed by metallic particles - powder of Nd-Fe-B and Alnico, particles of oxide - powder of ferrite and particles of resin - bonding materials. Team work on technology of laying the metallic coating on dielectromagnets prepared from mixture of mentioned powders. Papers show the results of initial investigation on metallic coating technology. It shows influence of type and used technology of the metallic coating film on magnetic properties of dielectromagnets.
Dielectromagnets are permanent magnets made from resin-bonded hard magnetic powders. Magnetic properties of dielectromagnets depend on kind of used hard magnetic materials as chemical compound, shape, size of grain and applied technology. Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of dielectromagnets made from different kind of magnetic powders induced us to try to prepare dielectromagnets from mixture of hard magnetic powders, not only one of them. The purpose of investigation on this kind of dielectromagnets is to find formula to prepare permanent magnets with properties adequate to different kind of electrical motors requirements. As hard magnetic materials we used powders of ferrite, melt-spun ribbon Nd-Fe-B and Alnico. Papers present results of investigation on technology of this kind of dielectromagnets. It shows also influence of kind of mixture and used technology on magnetic properties of dielectromagnets.

Naphthalene derived mesophase pitch WP) was spun into short fibers by using melt-blown technology. The pitch fibers oxidative stabilization were carried out heating rates of $2^{\circ}C/min,\;5^{\circ}C/min\;and\; 10^{\circ}/min$. The heating rate was a key factor to maximate the capacity of the Li-ion secondary battery through controlling the morphology of the graphitized fiber. The diameters of the melt-blown fibers prepared were in the range of $4{\mu}m\~16{\mu}m$ with functions of air jet speed, air temperature and the temperature of the nozzle. The graphitized fibers of $10{\mu}m$ diameters showed various morphological structure with heating rate of the stabilization. Radial, radial-random and skin-core cross-sectional structure of the fibers were observed at the respective heating rate of $2^{\circ}C/min\;5^{\circ}C/min\;and\;10^{\circ}C/min$. Most crystalline structure of graphite was obtained from the fiber stabilized at heating rate of $10^{\circ}C/min$ exhibiting the best anode performance with 400 mAh/g of capacitance and $96.8\%$ of charge/discharge efficiency.
In compacting the melt-spun $Nd_{14}Fe_{76}Co_{4}B_{6}$ and $Nd_{10.5}Fe_{79}Co_{2}Zr_{15}B_{7}$ magnetic powders. the difference in composition induces a different behavior of closed packing rate as a function of aspect ratio of the powders. The $Nd_{10.5}Fe_{79}Co_{2}Zr_{1.5}B_{7}$ alloy having a low Co/Fe ratio (low density) shows the better green density to have an enhanced closed packing rate. An empirical power equation relating the green density with the compacting pressure was obtained such as ${\phi}(g/cm^{2})=5.2~5.6{\times}P^{0.045~0.065}(ton/cm^{2})$. The $Nd_{14}Fe_{76}Co_{4}B_{6}$ alloy having a high Nd/Fe ratio possesses much finer grain size(50~60 nm) than that of $Nd_{10.5}Fe_{79}Co_{2}Zr_{1.5}B_{7}$ alloy and shows the higher coercivity($iH_{c}=14~15kOe$). The higher Nd/Fe ratio in the melt-spun Nd-Fe-Co-B alloy, where the domain wall pinning mechanism was found to be predominant, assists the formation of Nd-rich grain boundary phase acting as a pinning site. The grain boundary ranges over $12~16\;{\AA}$ thick in the Nd-Fe-Co-B alloy while it ranges over $8~12\;{\AA}$ thick in the Nd-Fe-Co-Zr-B alloy.
In the present study the effect of cooling rate during solidification on the microstructural characteristics of Al-xAg (x = 31, 33, 35 at.%) in-situ binary eutectic composites has been investigated. To provide a wide range of cooling rate three different casting techniques, i.e. conventional casting, injection casting, and melt spinning have been used. The observed microstructure is very much dependent on the cooling rate. The fcc ${\alpha}$-Al and hcp $Ag_2Al$ phases exhibits an orientation of (111)Al//(0001)$Ag_2Al$, [1-10]Al//[11- 20]$Ag_2Al$. The microstructure of the melt-spun samples contains Widmanstatten structure resulting from solid-state transformation and nano scale two-phase structure resulting from solid-state phase separation. The microstructure of injection-cast samples contains eutectic structure and solid state phase-separated structure. On the other hand, conventional-cast samples exhibit a microstructure consisted of plate-type eutectic structure.

In order to improve the breaking strength and elongation of Polybutylene succinate (PBS) monofilament, the monofilament was produced by blending PBS and Polybutlyne adipate-co-terephthalate (PBAT). The PBS/PBAT blend monofilament was prepared by the melt spinning system, and the weight ratios of the compositions of PBS/PBAT was 100/0, 95/5, 90/10 and 85/15, respectively. The breaking strength, elongation, softness and crystallization of PBS/PBAT blend monofilament were analyzed by using a tensionmeter, softness measurement, X-ray diffractometer in the both dry and wet conditions. The PBS/PBAT blend monofilaments were spun in the take-up velocity of 1.19m/sec under the drawing ratio of 6.8:1 condition. The production volumes of PBS/PBAT blend monofilaments showed 20% less than that of Nylon. The breaking strength of PBS/PBAT blend monofilaments were decreased as PBAT contents increased, while elongation and softness were increased. In case of PBAT content were over 5%, the breaking strength, elongation and softness of PBS/PBAT blend monofilaments were not shown to increase in spite of increasing in PBAT contents. Based on these results, it was possible to make the monofilaments with the maximized physical properties when the PBAT contents at 5%.

The crystallization behaviours of nanocomposite made by a function of quenching rate (roller speed) were studied. The results showed that there was one step c$\mathbb{r}$ystallization process for the alloy quenched at roller speed of 32 m/s, which could be shown as, Am (amorphouse) + ${\alpha}-Fe/Nd_2Fe_{14}B$${\rightarrow}$${\alpha}-Fe/Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ . For the alloy quenched at roller speed of 40 m/s, there was steps crystallization process taking place at different temperatures, which could be shown as, Am ${\rightarrow}$${\alpha}-Fe/Nd_2Fe_{23}B_3+Nd_2Fe_{14}B+Am`$${\rightarrow}$${\alpha}-Fe/Nd_2Fe_{14}B$. The presence of transition phase ($Nd_2Fe_{23}B_3$) was harmful to get fine and uniform grain size during crystallization process. Uniform microstructures and high magnetic properties could be attained for the as-quenched alloy containing less amorphous phase and no presence of transition phase during annealing treatment. For the alloy prepared at roller speed of 32 m/s, the following properties were obtained, $B_r= 0.904 T,_iH_c = 801 kA/m, (BH)_{max} = 122 kJ/m^3 and M_r/M_s = 0.6$.
Melt spun YbBa2Cu3Agx(x=0, 5, 12, 16 and 53) precursor alloy ribbons were oxidized at 263-330$^{\circ}C$ and treated at 820$^{\circ}C$, 855$^{\circ}C$ and 885$^{\circ}C$ under 1.0 atm oxygen pressure. In the ribbons treated at 820$^{\circ}C$, 855$^{\circ}C$and 885$^{\circ}C$ 1-2-4 phase (YbBa2Cu4O8) and 1-2-3 phase (YbBa2Cu3O{{{{ OMICRON _7-$\delta$ }})were formed respectively. The shape of 1-2-4 phase was distorted or ellipsoid. The 2-4-7 and 1-2-3 phases tooked the shape of bar. All the ribbons showed zero critical current density Jc at 77K in zero magnetic field. By considering the shape and the highest critical temperature (among the three phases) of the 1-2-3 phase we tried to increase the critical current density of the ribbons treated at 885$^{\circ}C$ by press deformation. About tenribbons were stacked and coupled by press deformation and then treated at 885$^{\circ}C$ These 1-2-3 phase did not show any texture in any of the ribbons. However they exhibited weak texture in the multilayered specimens. Among the multilayered specimens YbBa2Cu3Ag16 exhibited a Jc of 180 A/cm2 Among the above ribbons YbBa2Cu3Ag16 ribbon has the optimum composition to produce textured superconducting oxide with improved Jc by press deformation. Onset critical temperatures Ton of the multilayered YbBa2Cu3Agx(x=5, 12, 16 and 53) were measured as 88-90 K.
In order to increase the magnetic loss for electromagnetic(EM) wave absorption, the soft magnetic $Fe_{73}Si_{16}B_7Nb_3Cu_1$(at%) alloy strip was used as the basic material in this study. The melt-spun strip was pulverized using an attrition mill, and the pulverized flake-shaped powder was crystallized at $540^{\circ}C$ for 1h to obtain the optimum grain size. The Fe-based powder was mixed with 2 wt% $BaTiO_3$, $0.3{\sim}0.6$ wt% carbon black, and polymer-based binders for the improvement of electromagnetic wave absorption properties. The mixture powders were tape-cast and dried to form the absorption sheets. After drying at $100^{\circ}C$ for 1h, the sheets of 0.5 mm in thickness were made by rolling at $60^{\circ}C$, and cut into toroidal shape to measure the absorption properties of samples. The characteristics including permittivity, permeability and power loss were measured using a Network Analyzer(N5230A). Consequently, the properties of electromagnetic wave absorber were improved with the addition of both $BaTiO_3$ and carbon black powder, which was caused by the increased dielectric loss of the additive powders.
