In this paper Kalman filtering technique is applied to ultrasound signal to improve resolution capability, Ivhlch is in use of diagnostic imaging systems. The main advantage of Kalman filter algorithm for the analysis of reflected ultrasound signal is its recursive structure which can be easily adapted to tlme varing system. Because soft-tissues, such as liver, act as distributed acoustic low-pass filters which continually change the propagating pulse. tIne can put to practical use above advantage to find a suitable signal generallng model. In state-space description of the system, the 6th order system produces tl)e 1)esc spectral approximation to the source pulse As a result of spectrum analysis, 6th order estimator for two closely spaced ((p.5 mm) reflectors enhances resolution by 4dB-lOdB. By using this result, the possibility to detect even minute tumor is demonstrated.

Objectives: This study explored the perception and practice of privacy protection of some dental hygiene students. Methods: On the basis of survey data from 126 respondents, the correlation between the perception and the practice was analyzed. Also the multiple regression analysis was performed on the variables that affect the practice. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of the questionnaire was more than 0.6. The items were scored on 5 points scale or true-false type. Results: The perception of privacy protection was 3.23 points, the law is 0.88 points, and the practice is 3.47 points. The educated students were more perceive than those who did not(p<0.05). The higher the perception, the higher the practice(r=0.230, p<0.01). The practice was influenced by the perception(p<0.05). Conclusions: Dental hygiene students should be educated to perceive and protect the personal and medical information of a patient. Also, an educational institutions need a efforts to protect personal information.

We are exposed to numerous xenobiotic electrophiles on a daily basis through the environment, lifestyle, and dietary habits. Although such reactive species have been associated with detrimental effects, recent accumulated evidence indicates that xenobiotic electrophiles appear to act as signaling molecules. In this review, we introduce our findings on 1) activation of various redox signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, detoxification/excretion of electrophiles, quality control of cellular proteins, and cell survival during exposure to xenobiotic electrophiles at low concentrations through covalent modification of thiol groups in sensor proteins, and 2) negative regulation of reactive sulfur species (RSS) in the modulation of redox signaling and toxicity caused by xenobiotic electrophiles.

This study with the object of reported to depigment agent, oxyresveratrol derivative, compound DMPB. Compound DMPB with a two methoxy groups and modified connection chain. It was synthesized in accordance with a simple combination process. Compound DMPB exhibits depigmentaion ability on ultraviolet B-induced hyperpigmention of the brown guinea pig skin. In addition, this Compound exhibited 30% inhibitory effect of melanin generation without cell toxicity as a result of the treatment with 100 ppm in melan-a cells. (omitted)

Hospice palliative care refers to holistic care provided by an interdisciplinary team aimed at improving the quality of life of patients suffering from life-threatening diseases and their families. Among interdisciplinary team members, hospice advanced practice nurses (APNs) trained as master's-level advanced nursing professionals are leaders who play an important role in providing patient-centered care and improving the quality of services. The Medical Service Act revised in 2018 requires the scope of practice of APNs in each field to be specified in the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Accordingly, discussions on the role and scope of practice of hospice APNs are actively underway. In this review, the curriculum of hospice APNs, their work responsibilities and roles, and their current status are reviewed, and the future direction of the hospice APN system is also discussed.

According to the revision of the Data 3 Act in 2020, personal information of medical data can be processed anonymously for statistical purposes, research, and public interest record keeping. However, unidentified data can be re-identified using genetic information, credit information, etc., and personal health information can be abused as sensitive information. In this paper, we derive the need for homomorphic encryption to protect the privacy of personal information separated by sensitive information.

NK (Natural killer) cells are innate immune cells and play important roles as the first immune cells to act when cancer occurs. In many cancer patients, NK cells can be seen to be inactivated, suggesting that NK cells are important in cancer treatment. In order to overcome the disadvantages of NK cells in cancer treatment, it is critical to develop strategies that enhance the proliferation and cytolytic function of NK cells. We applied niclosamide to measure the degree of NK cell activation, and obtained unexpected results of increased NK cell numbers and anti-tumor activity. Although further investigation is required to uncover the detailed mechanisms, our results suggest that Niclosamide is a promising candidate to increase the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy using NK cells.

Enhancers are cis-elements to regulate transcription of cell/tissue-specific genes in multicellular organisms. These elements locate in upstream or downstream regions of target genes and are found in a long distance up to 100 Kb in some cases. Transcription factors and coactivators bind to enhancers in a chromatin environment. Enhancers appear to facilitate the transcription of target genes by communicating with promoters and activating them. As transcription activation mechanism of enhancers, chromatin looping between enhancers and promoters, tracking of enhancer activity to promoters along the intervening regions, and movement of enhancers and promoters into transcription condensates have been suggested based on various molecular and cellular biology studies. These mechanisms are likely to act together rather than exclusive each other for gene transcription. Understanding of enhancer action mechanism may provide a way to regulate the transcription of cell/tissue-specific genes relating with aging or various diseases.

An act of children's welfare was made in 1961 for the first time in Korea but it had been nothing but the name in view of practical impact to prevention of child abuse. Real undertakings of Child Abuse Prevention were commenced overtly since 2000 in Korea, when the law for children's welfare was revised to put protective settings for the victims and to establish criterion for children's safety. The history of Child Abuse Prevention is very short in Korea but the reporting cases increased very fast from 4,133 cases in 2001 up to 9,570 cases in 2008 with the enthusiastic activities from people of the associated organizations along with the national supports. But the portion reported by the mandated reporters such as teachers or doctors is still low compared to those of the developed countries. The National Child Protection Agency (NCPA) was founded in 2001 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to prevent child abuse and to aid recovery of abused and neglected children including their families, through the cooperation of related organizations. NCPA refers reported cases of child abuse to appropriate local centers, operates a computer database system for case management, publicizes national reports of child abuse on a yearly basis and technically supports the Local Child Protection Agency (LCPA) by developing scales for assessment of child abuse and neglect and distributing programs for the education of mandatory reporters. LCPAs operate 24-hour telephone hotline, investigate and visit homes and provide in home services networking with local resources, and operate multidisciplinary teams for screening child abuse victims and supervising case management through multimodal systems. We summarized the present state of child abuse in Korea and reviewed the operating systems for child protection in this country. Through this article, we hope that medical peoples are to be informed on the seriousness of child abuse and to be able to devote themselves for the prevention of child abuse.

Currently, there is no bill about Maternal Inference and the Family Law about surrogate birth in Korea. Also, Problems of surrogate mother were reported by media socially, but these discussions did not discuss continuously. Early in the course that establishing process of Bioethics and Safety Act, there was a discussion. But it cannot acceptance as Act, it issued legally and ethically. Despite the difficult of legal interpretation and ethical problem, the surrogate birth practiced covertly and frequently. And about this, our law just declared its invalidity because it is contrary to public order and good moral until recently. Therefore, if it leaves as invalidation, the problem about right of surrogate mother and the baby from her it may occur a serious social problem. From now, about the issue of surrogacy contracts the legal and medical countermeasures to be taken. Therefore, to solve many problems about surrogacy contract, consider the problem of surrogacy contract, also suggest legislative study about Korean surrogate mother based on legislative cases of foreign countries.
