The purposes of this study were to analyze the effect of perceived parent-adolescent communication on SNS addiction tendency among high school students and to investigate the mediating effects of self-control on the relationship between above variables. 567 students who were registered in three high schools located in D city completed a questionnaire on parent-adolescent communication, SNS addiction tendency, and self-control. Structural equation models were conducted to compare the research model (complete mediating effect) and the competing model (partial mediating effect), and bootstrapping was conducted to investigate the mediating effects of self-control with SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The results are as follow: First, while the parent-adolescent communication did not directly have an effect the SNS addiction tendency, the self-control had a direct effect on the SNS addiction tendency. Second, the research model was selected as a final model which implied that parent-adolescent communication had an indirect effect on SNS addiction tendency among high school students. Third, self-control had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between parent-adolescent communication and high school students' SNS addiction tendency. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that parent-adolescent communication had an indirect effect rather than a direct effect through self-control on high school students' SNS addiction tendency. This result indicates that the SNS addiction tendency rate of high school student can be lowered, by mediating self-control. Finally, this study suggests that the implicit points on counseling methods to remedy self-control of high school students, and shortcomings and limits of this study and advice for follow-up studies all be discussed.
The purpose of this study was to measure the effect of disgust with meat mediating the factors influencing meat consumption. Structural equation model was used to measure the causal relationships among constructs. The structural analysis Result of the data indicated excellent model fit. The effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture and satiety from meat on disgust with meat were statistically significant. The effects of color in meat and negative body esteem on disgust with meat were not statistically significant. As expected, disgust with meat had a significant effect on meat consumption. Moreover, disgust with meat played a mediating role in the relationship between moral concerns for animals and meat consumption. Disgust with meat played a mediating role in the relationship between satiety from meat and meat consumption. Disgust with meat did not play a mediating role in the relationship between color in meat and meat consumption. Disgust with meat did not play a mediating role in the relationship between body esteem and meat consumption. In conclusion, based on structural analysis, a model was proposed of interrelations among constructs. It should be noted that the original model was modified and should, preferably, be validated in future research.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify moderating and mediating effects of social support in the relationship between work-family conflict, job satisfaction and turnover intention among married women nurses. Methods: The sample for this study consisted of 225 married female nurses from two hospitals located in Seoul. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and hierarchical multiple regression with the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: (a) Social support of married female nurses had significant moderating and mediating effects between work-family conflict and job satisfaction. (b) Social support of married female nurses had significant moderating and mediating effects between work-family conflict and turnover intention. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that social support is an important factor in work-family conflict, job satisfaction and turnover intention among married female nurses. Supervisor support is important to married nurses as social support as it is controlled by the organization. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating and moderating effects of fall-related efficacy and social support on the relationship between frailty and health-related quality of life among rural community-dwelling elderly. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a convenient sampling method, and data of 438 elderly residents living in a rural community was used. The structured questionnaire included items from the Euro Quality of life-5 Dimensions (mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort, anxiety/ depression), fall-related efficacy and social support. Results: Analysis of the mediating effect of fall-related efficacy and social support showed that there was significant mediating influence of fall-related efficacy on the relationship between frailty and health-related quality of life. There were no moderating effects of fall-related efficacy and social support. Conclusion: The findings suggest that fall-related efficacy may play a role in reducing the effect of frailty on health-related quality of life and underscore the need to consider ways of enhancing fall-related efficacy in interventions for rural community-dwelling frail elderly.
Purpose: This study aimed to confirm mediating effects of academic self-efficacy in the relationship between academic stress and sleep quality among academic high school students. Methods: The participants included 195 academic high school students who were attending a private educational institution in the Gwangju or Pusan metropolitan city. Data were collected from September 1 to September 30, 2019. The data were analyzed using PROCESS macro SPSS/WIN 3.2 and bootstrapping was used to test the mediating effects. Results: There were significant relationships between sleep quality and academic stress (r=-.55, p<.001), sleep quality and academic self-efficacy (r=.35, p<.001), and academic stress and academic self-efficacy (r=-.16, p<.020). Academic self-efficacy showed partial mediating effects in the relationship between academic stress and sleep quality. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the development of a program that improves the academic self-efficacy of academic high school students who are experiencing academic stress is a way to improve the quality of their sleep.
Purpose: This study aimed to determine the mediating effects of aggressive stress response on the association between clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction in ophthalmic optics majors and provide basic data that could help form opticians' professionalism and make clinical practice more effective. Methods: This study was conducted in 236 sophomores and juniors in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province who had finished clinical practice. Hierarchical regression analysis and mediating effect testing were performed to determine the associations among clinical practice stress, clinical practice satisfaction, and aggressive stress response and determine the mediating effects of aggressive stress response on the association between clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction. Results: Clinical practice stress was significantly negatively correlated with clinical practice satisfaction and aggressive stress response (p<0.01), and aggressive stress response was significantly positively correlated with clinical practice satisfaction (p<0.01). The association between clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction was more likely to be explained by the addition of clinical practice stress than by being aggressive stress response controlled, which statistically significantly met the criteria for mediating effects (p<0.001). Conclusions: It is necessary to pay more attention to program development and teaching methods within the department of ophthalmic optics so that ophthalmic optics majors can utilize aggressive stress response to overcome clinical practice stress effectively and improve clinical practice satisfaction.

This study attempted to investigate the mediating effects of self-efficacy in the influence of appearance management behavior and life satisfaction among middle-aged women. For this, a questionnaire survey was performed among 153 women aged 40-59 living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis, using SPSS 25.0. To examine mediating effects, SPSS Process MACRO #4 was borrowed, and the results found the following: 1) A positive correlation with statistical significance was observed among appearance management behavior, self-efficacy, and life satisfaction. 2) According to the analysis of appearance management behavior, self-efficacy and life satisfaction by demographic characteristics, some differences were found. 3) The mediating effects of self-efficacy in appearance management behavior and the life satisfaction relationship was confirmed. The above results show that middle-aged women experience an increase in self-efficacy through appearance management behavior and improvements in their life satisfaction through such self-efficacy, not just enhancing life satisfaction through appearance management behavior. In other words, appearance management increases life satisfaction through an ego-discovery process.
