In recent trends, the first age of digital device usage has been significantly getting low and the using frequencies for younger generation have been gradually increasing. Also, while there were more negative opinions of this trend in the past, the new idea is changing to more needs of training and approaches for children's sound using guidelines for digital device. In fact, people believe the new generation will face more advanced future, called the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The purpose of the paper is first to explain about the Jacques Lacan's concept of desire theory in order to understand the human's unconscious level through His desire theory. Second, the paper identifies how this unconscious level is affected to ethical aspects of new generations whose unconscious level are frequently and early exposed to digital media. Lastly, the paper will present the necessity of digital literacy education as well as future direction. Furthermore, the paper review for what is the ethics and positive guidelines of digital media for children who will become the future citizens in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This paper examines the composition and the content of media art which is an art education subject in a national curriculum of Australia; and discusses implications for Korean education curriculums. Media covered by Media Art subject in Australia are the multi types of general media including TV, movie, video, newspaper, radio, video game, the internet, and mobile media; and their contents. The purpose of ACARA's media art education curriculum is to improve creative use, knowledge, understanding, and technology of communication techniques for multiple purposes and the audiences. Through the Media Art subject, both the students and the community are able to participate in the actual communications with the rich culture surrounding them and to develop the knowledge and understanding of the 5 core concepts of language, technology, system, audience and re-creation while testing the culture. The implication of this study is as the following. ACARA's media art education curriculum has been developed as an independent educational program and has a special significance within Australian education curriculums. Although ACARA's media art education curriculum is formed as an independent subject, it is suggested within the curriculum to instruct in close connection with other subjects upon execution. Its organization and elaborateness in curriculum composition are very effective in terms of the teacher's teaching-learning design and as well as the evaluation. This seems to show a good model of leading media literacy curriculum. ACARA's media art education curriculum can be a great reference in introducing media literacy to Korean national education curriculums.

This study analyzed the cases of online art museum education based on the core competency of Jenkins' new media literacy to supplement the limitations of online art museum education programs. The core competency of media education suggested by Jenkins can serve as a reference point for an online art museum content. For the case analysis, 4 museums were selected as the domestic art museum, and 4 as the overseas art museum. The results of analysis based on new media literacy are as follows. In the case of overseas art museums, content for mutual communication such as video conferencing and commenting at the bottom of the site page was constructed, but domestic online art museums lacked these elements. Therefore, there is a need to improve core competency of appropriation, networking, negotiation, distributed cognition, and collective intelligence by organizing communication content.

This study investigated effect of media lieteracy and self-esteem on sexual permissiveness among high school student in order to develop a sex education program. The participants were 639 high school students from Seoul, Kyeonggi, and Incheon in Korea. According to the regression analysis, sexual permissiveness was explained by sex, economic status, SML1, SE family. The results suggested that it is important to develop a sex education program that focuses on enhancing media literacy and family-related self-esteem to raise the right sex attitude of adolescents.

Interculturalism presents a philosophy for understanding cultural differences in the multicultural era and for resolving various conflicts that may arise from intercultural differences. While multiculturalism focuses on the coexistence of diverse cultures, interculturalism seeks active interaction between different cultures. We study the hit drama <Crash Landing on You> as an example of media literacy for intercultural education. We will discuss cultural differences and interculturalism in dramas, and analyze aspects of intercultural dialogue specifically. Through this, we would like to consider that this drama is an effective media text of intercultural education.

The purpose of this study is to explore high school students' environmental literacy and from its result, to suggest ways to reform environmental education. 1047 students from Seoul and Kyeongki province participated in the survey. The questionnaire consisted of four criteria of environmental literacy including knowledge, skill, attitude and behavior. The result was analyzed and the factors which affect high school students environmental literacy were explored. From this result, we made suggestions to improve environmental education as follows. First, environmental education in school should focus on knowledge criterion. Though school environmental education has been helpful for students to build environmental literacy in attitude and behavior criteria, its effect has not been good enough in knowledge criterion. Second, science education can enhance students' environmental literacy. Students who like science best and students who belong to science major classes were reported to possess better understanding in knowledge criterion. Also, students who like life science appeared to have a more positive attitude in environmental literacy. Third, informal education must be considered to form students' environmental literacy. In particular, the effect of mass media is inarguable. Thus, we should find a way to link formal education and informal education to improve environmental education. Fourth, high school students' interest in the environment must be encouraged since it is evident that higher interest would result in better outcome in environmental education.

This study reports a case where some university libraries played a major role in opening and educating information literacy Instruction as a general liberal arts course. The librarian of the university library, who was also the speaker of this study, participated in the overall operation, including the conducting of two classes lectures during the second semester as a professor. It also analyzed a survey of 43 students from 27 departments in the first semester of 2019 and 44 from 25 departments in the second semester to assess the pre- and post-education effects on the courses. As a result, statistically significant values were obtained in both semesters. This study, which aimed at providing materials for librarians at university libraries raises the need for liberal arts education that integrates information and media literacy, is expected to provide various implications for improving information literacy instruction programs in the future.

Our society is developing exponentially, but schools are not keeping up with the pace of society's development, and they are not providing digital literacy education suitable for the growth and development of students. Thus, this study identified the actual conditions and problems of digital literacy education at school sites and sought the direction of development of digital literacy education. By identifying the current state of schools in which the 2015 curriculum is operated, we sought the direction of the development of digital literacy education for our school. First, old digital devices should be replaced, laptops or smart devices should be provided for each student, and internet access should be available throughout the school. Second, digital literacy education should be provided to teachers by providing various training opportunities.Third, coding education where you can express what you think as logical thinking, Software training should increase the level of the algorithmic domain that shows the computational thinking process of discovering problems and automating a given problem into a computer programming language, there is enough robot that can be seen operating the program, digital parish will need to be delivered.

This study is focused on the factors which would influence new media's utilization based on the university students' survey and literacy adjustment effect. Through this process, we would verify the composition of new media's utilization and the importance of literacy ability which are needed for the survey of university students and try to find the effect factors for career decision making. We surveyed about 150 students who were studying in University located in Incheon city and analyzed the data of qualified 120 students. SPSS 23.0 was used and frequency analysis was performed to analyze the general characteristics of the students. Reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted to verify the contents of this study. The relationship, information and interest which were considered independent variables, were found to have a significant influence on the career decision making of the students. In addition, it was shown that the literacy adjustment effect also played a big role in career decision making of the students. Based on those findings, we discussed about the importance of contents in the utilization of new media, ways to improve the ability of literacy, the implications and limitations of this study.

This paper reports on an ongoing study that utilizes the literacy autobiographies of 10 Asian and 10 Western graduate students from TESOL Masters programs in Korea and America as data for a cross cultural study on the discursive process of identity formation and the development of critical consciousness (Freire, 2000). While the data suggests similarities and differences between cultures in terms of the effects of education, social relationships, media, and religion, no definitive claims may be made due to the small size of the research corpus. However, analysis of the data revealed that only four of the narratives could be judged as engaging in critical introspection of individual subjects systems of knowledge, values, and beliefs, as opposed to the other narratives that were primarily descriptive of individual personal experiences. As such, this study found that while the willingness and ability to engage in the critical practices which lead to the development of a critical consciousness are similar across cultures, they may be mediated by the literacy practices inscribed in education, media, and other social practices.
