  • Unreadable Khitan scripts of ancient documents written by indian ink on parchment(sheepskin) are visualized by active infrared thermography without contacting and damaging the document which are deteriorated and aged presumably over many years. Sinusoidal infrared thermal wave using Halogen lamp is applied to the surface of the document in order to selectively magnify and record the thermal response of indian ink. The infrared image of the document captured in real time by infrared camera under the active external excitation shows the better sharpness and readability of Khitan characters than the optical image, from which many Khitan letters like ' ' and ' ' sounding as 'd' and 'ri' in English alphabet are detected and deciphered. It is concluded from the experiment that the active infrared thermography can be used as a promising method for digital reconstruction and preservation of ancient documents in the future.

  • Erosion-corrosion behaviors of Hadfield steel under a neutral aqueous environment with fine SiO2 particles were examined and compared with those of conventional carbon steel. A range of electrochemical experiments (potentiodynamic polarization, linear polarization, and impedance), immersion test, and slurry pot test (i.e., erosion-corrosion test) were performed. Results showed that the Hadfield steel composed of austenitic matrix with (Fe,Mn)-based carbide had lower corrosion potential and higher corrosion current density than carbon steel with a typical ferrite/pearlite structure. In addition, pipe forming increased total corrosion rates (i.e., pure corrosion and erosion-enhanced corrosion rates). Nevertheless, the erosion-corrosion rate of Hadfield steel was much smaller. Morphological observation showed that local damage in the form of a crater by erosion-corrosion was more noticeable in carbon steel. The higher resistance of Hadfield steel to erosion-corrosion was attributed to its lower total erosion rates (i.e., pure erosion and corrosion-enhanced erosion rates) highly depending on surface hardness. This study suggests that Hadfield steel with higher resistances to flowing erosion-corrosion in an aqueous environment can be applied widely to various industrial fields.

  • There have been 3E problems of energy, economy and environment since the earth has its history. Especially, the energy and environment problems have been getting serious after the modem industry revolution. Therefore, the demand of gas as an eco-friendly energy source is getting increased. With the demand of gas, the installation and use of gas boiler is also increased, so human life injury by the waste gas(CO) of boiler goes on increasing every you. Hence, we want to find out the harm to human body through the study on the concentration of CO by the length of the straight exhaust tube of gas boiler. The allowable concentration of CO is 50 ppm. The 3 m of once bended tube starts exceeding the allowable concentration of CO after 5 minutes, and the 4 m and 5 m starts exceeding after 3 minutes.

  • This paper improves the possibility of recognizing fast-moving objects through the YOLO (You Only Look Once) deep learning recognition model in an application environment for object recognition in images. The purpose was to study the method of collecting semantic data through processing. In the recognition model, the moving object recognition error was identified as unrecognized because of the difference between the frame rate of the camera and the moving speed of the object and a misrecognition due to the existence of a similar object in an environment adjacent to the object. To minimize the recognition errors by compensating for errors, such as unrecognized and misrecognized objects through the proposed data collection method, and applying vision processing technology for the causes of errors that may occur in images acquired for sports (tennis games) that can represent real similar environments. The effectiveness of effective secondary data collection was improved by research on methods and processing structures. Therefore, by applying the data collection method proposed in this study, ordinary people can collect and manage data to improve their health and athletic performance in the sports and health industry through the simple shooting of a smart-phone camera.

  • This paper attempts to evaluate the local economy and the local economic development policy in Goryeong County and to propose some policy alternatives for local economic development. Goryeong County has a locational advantage, which is not just geographically proximate to Daegu, a large metropolis, but also connected directly to the national highway networks. This region can also be regarded as a rural area, in a sense that the primary industry still plays a more important role for the local economy than the secondary industry and the tertiary industry. However, it is problematic that the local economic development strategies of Goryeong are universal rather than strategic and systematic. In order to design an effective regional economic development policy, the policy makers are necessary to deliberately consider regional specificity and geo-political and geo-economic situations around the region. In addition, it is important to say that policy makers, particularly in rural regions, need to break from the fantasy of high-tech industries. In this context, I propose some region-specific and context-specific policy ideas, including the promotion of the agro-food cluster and the build-up of the em-industrial complexes specialized in mechatronics and transportation equipment manufacturing.

  • To improve the external quantum efficiency by means of the optimization of the polymer light emitting diodes(PLEDs) structure, the PLED with ITO/PEDOT:PSS/(PFO)/PFO:MEH-PPV/LiF/Al structure were fabricated and investigated the electrical and optical properties for the prepared devices. ITO(indium tin oxide) and PEDOT:PSS [poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrene sulfolnate)] were used as transparent anode film and hole transport materials, respectively. PFO[poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene)] and MEHPPV[poly(2-methoxy-5(2-ethylhe xoxy)-1,4-phenylenevinyle)] were used as the light emitting host and dopant materials. The doping concentration of MEH-PPV was 9wt% with thickness of about $400{\AA}$. We investigated the dependence of the PFO thickness ranging from $200{\AA}$ to $300{\AA}$ on the electrical, optical properties of PLEDs. Among prepared PLED devices with different PFO thicknesses, the highest value of the luminance was obtained for the PLED device with $250{\AA}$ in thickness. As a result, the current density and luminance ware found to be about $400mA/cm^2$ and $1500cd/m^2$ at 13V, respectively. In addition, the luminance and current efficiency of PLED device with double emitting layer (PFO/PFO:MEH-PPV) were improved about 3 times compared with the one with single emitting layer (PFO:MEH-PPV).

  • In this study, the pentacene thin films were prepared by the soluble process, and characterized fur the application of the organic thin film transistor(OTFT) device. To dissolve the pentacene material, two kinds of solvents such as toluene and chloroform were used, and the effects of these solvents on the properties of pentacene thin films coated on ITO/Glass substrate were investigated. Pentacene thin films were prepared by using spin-coating methode and characterized the surface morphology, crystalline and electrical properties. From the AFM measurement, the surface morphology of the pentacene film dissolved with chloroform was improved compared with the one dissolved with toluene solvent. XRD measurement showed that all prepared pentacene film samples were amorphous crystal phases without crystallization of the films. The electrical properties of the pentacene film dissolved with chloroform showed better results than the ones using toluene solvent by hall measurement system. The carrier concentration and the mobility values of pentacene films using chloroform solvent were found to be $-3.225{\times}10^{14}\;cm^{-3}$ and $3.5{\times}10^{-1}\;cm^2{\cdot}V^{-1}{\cdot}S^[-1}$, respectively. The resistivity was about $2.5{\times}10^2\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$.

  • In order to protect the solar cells from the moisture and oxygen, we evaluated the electrical and optical properties for the $Cu(In,Ga)Se_2$ (CIGS) solar cells which were prepared by the spray coating method. Generally, the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) films are laminated to protect the CIGS flexible solar cells, which results in a high cost process due to complicated devices. In this study, we tried to prepare the protection layers of the flexible CIGS flexible solar cells by using spray coating method instead of conventional laminating films in order to reduce the device weight as well as the process time. The CIGS solar cells with spray coating method showed an enhanced efficiency than the before treated sample (2.77% to 2.93%) and relatively proper water vapor transmission rate of the solar cells about 62.891 gm/[$m^2-day$].

  • In this study, a proposed ensemble learning technique aims to enhance the semantic segmentation performance of images captured by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). With the increasing use of UAVs in fields such as urban planning, there has been active development of techniques utilizing deep learning segmentation methods for land cover segmentation. The study suggests a method that utilizes prominent segmentation models, namely U-Net, DeepLabV3, and Fully Convolutional Network (FCN), to improve segmentation prediction performance. The proposed approach integrates training loss, validation accuracy, and class score of the three segmentation models to enhance overall prediction performance. The method was applied and evaluated on a land cover segmentation problem involving seven classes: buildings, roads, parking lots, fields, trees, empty spaces, and areas with unspecified labels, using images captured by UAVs. The performance of the ensemble model was evaluated by mean Intersection over Union (mIoU), and the results of comparing the proposed ensemble model with the three existing segmentation methods showed that mIoU performance was improved. Consequently, the study confirms that the proposed technique can enhance the performance of semantic segmentation models.
